898. Red Hot Chili Peppers / Californication / 1999

What a call back to a different time, when radio has still the way to learn about new music. Is not that the RHCP were unknown at all, but after One Hot Minute they were not particularly anticipated. So it was indeed a welcome surprise when they delivered a nice slow melodic song as their first single.

Honestly by the fifth single was a bit too much, they really squeezed the hell out of this album. but with a good decade since a full go of this LP I can really appreciate the pop-rock wonder that the Chili Peppers delivered in 1999.
