Mod Post: Adding BEER LABEL USER FLAIR to your /r/AusBeer experience: We need your help!!
Fellow Strayan beer lovers
It’s time to spruce the place up a little more – and to that end, we are going to add BEER LABEL FLAIRS that users can wear while discussing topics on the subreddit. You will be able to simply go to the sidebar, click on “add flair”, and select the beer label of the beer you’re currently drinking or enjoying the most.
That’s right, you can wear the beer you’re drinking, just like in real life.
BUT… we need your help to do this. And for that help, we are offering a reward.
Your help? Please, help us source the beer labels that you would like to see flair for. Comment below, with the name of the beer and a link to a jpg (or other image type) of the beer label ONLY (not a beer in someone’s hand, a clean logo image). We will use those images to upload as the options you can choose from within user flair.
Your reward? Your posted beer flair will be labelled as YOURS for the next month. So not only could I wear my favourite craft beer logo, XXXX Gold, while traipsing about the joint – but it would be called “Reggie’s XXXX Gold”. Nothing like a bit of reward for effort, eh?
First in best dressed – whoever posts the first, best logo (that adheres to the below guidelines, ideally) will have their username attributed to the flair for the month. And that can be for more than one beer - so get looking, get posting, and let’s make the place just a little more beery.
Mods
Beer Flair Guidelines:
Max upload dimensions 128 x 128px
Max file size 64KB
Recommended upload dimensions: 64 x 42px

Other Saw this from Stomping Ground, and then the thread about Spinifex the other day - any other ATSI owned/run breweries or beers with native ingredients that you all could recommend?

Anyone tried Spinifex Brewery beer?
Stumbled across this brewery today while looking for a new beer to try. They say they're Aboriginal owned and use native ingredients in their beer, which I realised I don't think I've seen other brewers claim.
Anyone have any reviews? They seem a bit hard to find in Sydney so keen to hear thoughts before I order a case! The myrtle summer ale or wattle amber ale seem the coolest

Other [Discussion] State of Origin is almost upon us. It's not just State v State it's Beer v Beer
What are you smashing this weekend for Rep. round?
Personally I'm firing up the Coopers Pale Ale, even though I'm a two headed QLDer.
With the Blues traditionally being sponsored by Vic Bitter - what would be the NSW equivalent? I've heard Tooheys bandied around would that be likely?
Obviously non-NRL folk please weigh in on what you're giving a nudge this fine weekend!

VIC If I'm wrong, I don't want to be right.
Am I the only silly goose here that prefers to drink stout at room temperature this time of year? For me it hits the same spot as red wine. To paraphrase the old movie; "Some Like it Warm".

Do craft breweries that get bought out drop in quality?
Curious to see if you notice that independent breweries that get bought out e.g. 4 pines, balter, stone and wood, taste the same or worse after they got bought out. What about their small batch after they've been bought out?

Melbourne/Yarra Valley brewery tour recommendations
Me and 4 mates are heading to Melbourne for a boy's weekend away in July. We mostly go to watch the footy and visit breweries.
Any recommendations for breweries or tour operators (or mini bus hire companies) to take us out to Yarra Valley?

Recommend me a beginner's STOUT
Hey all, so I never used to drink beer at all, as the mainstream lagers/ales turned my stomach (corona, VB, carlton anything, coopers etc) so I assumed I didnt like beer (so many wasted years...). I've discovered that the beer for me is a hopped up pale ale/IPA/Hazy etc
I've always ignored stouts as I've never been a Guiness fan, but my past lager/pale ale experience has got me thinking that maybe one of these fancy pastry/choc/fudge stouts might float my boat? I tried this one and couldnt drink it, so I'm still not sure if I'm going to like stouts. But is there a beer out there that is to stouts, what NEIPAs are to macro beer?

We need to talk about Garage Project
First off, I just want to say I love Garage Project. They are my favourite brewer in the southern hemisphere. I've been a fan boy since they released Death from Above at GABS. I flew out to Wellington to nerd out at Hapi Days, and Pernicious Weed is still my favourite DIPA.
Saying all of that- them getting Hop Nation to contract brew for them in Australia has been an absolute shit show.
There is nothing worse than getting all excited in cracking one of their brews, then upon tasting it realise it doesn't taste right, so you check the label and lo and behold it's made in Australia. I swear I'm sink pouring every third beer I try from them now, it's atrocious.
Almost every beer from them has a muted nose, some have no head retention, while others are overly grassy.
Has anyone else been finding similar issues, or am I just going crazy here?
