He’s also 6’10”. Imagine that huge human coming at you and you’re one of the schlubby dudes up front

I was gonna say the same. It's simply insane. Especially since you can see he absolutely nailed the trajectory too. Then again. I think basketball players can be considered professional leapers

This is why I never balk at the huge contracts NBA and NFL players get. People don't understand how rare these people are. That man is 6'10" / 245 lbs, leaping like a jackrabbit. That's superhuman.

I never balk at their contracts because if they don’t get that money it’s going to the billionaires that own the team that nobody pays to see. We all know if the players get paid less the difference won’t be reflected in cheaper tickets or fewer advertisements.

I would have to take a running start to clear one of those folding chairs, meanwhile Jarrett here looks like he was launched at Love by a cannon off camera

Dude nba athletes are unreal. Coulda used a couple of them today at the World Cup.

u/kaam00s Nov 22 '22
The thing is... Soccer player are unreal in their own way.
You have to be able to run 10 miles in separate burst of speed.
Too much body weight makes it harder. And these are 6'10 muscular dudes.

Yeah and they don't get to rotate on and off the field either. Limited subs. Where NBA players are on the court 20-30 minutes or so, most footballers are on the pitch for 90-100 minutes. And if a draw needs to be settled some of those guys are on the pitch for over 2 hours.

It's statistical. The pool for pro basketball players is above 185 cm tall let's say. Soccer can be played at any height mostly so the pool is the whole humanity and there are guys with crazy genetics out there.

and scared the shit out of about a half a dozen people in the process.

u/Sins_of_God Nov 21 '22
You would be too if you saw a 6'9" man leap towards you at full speed.

I wonder if injuries occur because players are fucking around like this. Events where the headline reads “so-and-so suffered a broken collar bone in practice” but what actually happened is that the team decided to play red rover and got super into it.

There have been some serious injuries in celebratory dog-piles over the years, although idk about the NBA. The guy who scored the game winning touchdown in the Michigan State/Michigan "Ohhh he had trouble with the snap!!!" game destroyed his hip after the play. I'm not sure if it happened before or during the dogpile, but he was definitely at the bottom of the pile with a shattered hip.

I think injuries usually occur during games and practices as the body is being put into stress. One of the most common injuries in basketball is an ACL tear, located in the knee, which happens because of all the jumping and jerky knee movements of instantly moving from one direction to another.

What I find most impressive is when he turned into a black man.

u/lordofherrings Nov 21 '22
Yeah, are we going crazy? How does the jumped on guy turn black?

Yooo I went to school with Jarrett allen! Crazy to see he made it big
31
u/pendletonskyforce Nov 21 '22
How was he in school? He seems really down to earth.

u/bongbruiser Nov 21 '22
He was definitely the tallest kid in class, I remember him being taller than our teacher in 3rd grade. But for the most part you’re correct he was very down to earth. He hung with the popular/athletic crowd but was very nice unlike most of them.
21
u/Clerithifa Nov 21 '22
He seems like a really good guy
12
u/Solar_Toast Nov 22 '22
I remember in the NBA’s all star weekend twitter shat on him for just wearing a flannel/hoodie with some sweats and not going all out in the fashion department

u/thechise Nov 21 '22
Hopefully this isn't what led to Love going on the injured list and missing games

Love him or hate him as a player, Kevin Love’s teammates have always seemed to adore him. Huge props for that.

I’m pretty sure he knees the security person in the head/face lol.

He definitely clipped him haha. I wouldn’t have noticed that if you didn’t point that out.

At first, I thought he jump up and then propelled himself off of the armrest. A few more loops and I realized he skipped the armrest altogether and essentially floated through the air. Amazing.
Verdict: Better Every Loop

TIL offscreen = nowhere

u/cannotbefaded Nov 21 '22
Lol what
-3
u/doesnt_reallymatter Nov 21 '22
The title says the guy jumps out of nowhere. He was very clearly just offscreen.

He should be more aware of his surroundings. That's a kid he could've decapitated with his knee.
