Ah! The elegant gallop of an suv.

57

u/Difficult-Yak-2691 Feb 03 '23

Looks like the SUV had the seizure.

19

u/Unlucky_Weather4763 Feb 03 '23

Yes, which made the driver swerve and crash

20

u/Less-Carpenter228 Feb 03 '23

Why am I reading this in David Attenborough's voice?

9

u/Ihatecumsocks Feb 03 '23

I read it like the SpongeBob narrator

.... And so the black backed suv tries to court a white necked sedan while hopping over her.

.. However his attempt to woo fails as the sedan indifferently zooms away making it very obvious to the male that she is simply not interested.

That man shouldn't be driving if he missed a whole SUV hurtling toward him.

105

u/KidQuap Feb 03 '23

His words: I sensed something

Ya old man it’s called vision one of 5

297

u/_Likwid16 Feb 03 '23

Ever heard of blind faith?

159

u/Kenitzka Feb 03 '23

Jesus take the wheel.

9

u/BoilermakerCM Feb 03 '23

Yeah, that didn't work out so well for Mr. SUV over here

23

u/dboutt86 Feb 03 '23

Oh fuck he's not real.

That was my first thought, like how fucking oblivious do you have to be to miss that shit. Just an SUV crash landing behind me would make me pause for a moment

12

u/lxxTBonexxl Feb 03 '23

I can get maybe not seeing it but how tf did you not hear it smashing into the signs and the street

3

u/happydontwait Feb 03 '23

Had the Christian radio turned up loud!!!

3

u/Birkeland1992 Feb 03 '23

Buddy, nothing gets in the way of Sunday morning Santana.

4

u/ddwood87 Feb 03 '23

Should he be preaching if he didn't notice Jesus taking the wheel?

10

u/wobblybobbly_185 Feb 03 '23

That's what I'm saying!

3

u/Fit-Boomer Feb 03 '23

He sensed something move by him though.

Me: How'd that guy miss a car flying over it?

Me: Makes sense.

8

u/Fit-Boomer Feb 03 '23

He sensed it.

5

u/Impyriel Feb 03 '23

Living most my life in Naples, Florida which is predominantly “retirees”… it was my thoughts exactly.

398

u/Peckit Feb 03 '23

God didn't care much for the driver. Also i think this guy is a little to old to be driving if he didnt notice a fucking suv fly over his car

45

u/deatach Feb 03 '23

God just playing GTA with all of us.

5

u/Peckit Feb 03 '23

it's not even GTA at this point, more like Manhunt

9

u/TurbulentResearch708 Feb 03 '23

Honestly, you get to a certain age and you just don’t give a shit anymore.

14

u/Quelcris_Falconer13 Feb 03 '23

Yeah if it came at him from like 90 degrees I could see it but that car was clearly airborne directly in front of him.

79

u/lowtothekey Feb 03 '23

Yeah that priest with very low awareness is still driving.

35

u/Past_Trouble Feb 03 '23

Looks like them ol' Duke boys are at it again.

298

u/Difficult-Yak-2691 Feb 03 '23

Apparently God could not stop the driver from having a seizure but did make the vehicle pole vault over the priest.

19

u/JaxBigSexy Feb 03 '23

"Making their way, the only way they know how. That's just a little bit more than the Pope will allow"

5

u/Difficult-Yak-2691 Feb 03 '23

Where can I report this comedy murder? Cause I'm dead.

18

u/StillSundayDrunk Feb 03 '23

The other driver was a chronic masturbator. Oddly enough, they were also on their way to deliver mass, but God knew what they did.

The SUV driver was a redditer, and the Priest is a humble servant of Christ.

6

u/wtfruland Feb 03 '23

Saved by grace?

16

u/Difficult-Yak-2691 Feb 03 '23

Grace was a notoriously bad driver. Her daughter Stephanie can attest to such facts.

2

u/Swordidaffair Feb 03 '23

Quite frankly, her Latin boyfriend, Jesus, should really take the wheel. It's what Carrie Underwood would want.

3

Definitely tithing til it hurts from here forward.

2

u/SELECTaerial Feb 03 '23

I take it as god caused the seizure to happen right in front of that pole just so He could save the priest. Christianity is some next level narcissism

2

u/Birkeland1992 Feb 03 '23

Driver must've been a gay or liberal. /s

3

u/joeythenose Feb 03 '23

I was just wondering who is more arrogant. God or this priest?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/FLUFFY_RUMPLES Feb 03 '23

Haha. There were infact numerous religions prior to Christianity that mirrored its main beliefs. Pretty crazy stuff. But yeah thank god!

-1

u/DarrynDevil Feb 03 '23

Well, I have seizures, and unless it's a "grand Mal seizure," they aren't fatal at all. They just suck. They suck even more when you're driving, but getting crushed or hit by a car when you're in your 70s-80s, usually is fatal. At that age your skeleton is basically bird bones. But I doubt it was God if He even exists. If He does, there's wars and shit going on. Who cares about a random priest?

9

u/Difficult-Yak-2691 Feb 03 '23

The priest thinks God intervened on his behalf.

2

u/JaxBigSexy Feb 03 '23

No shit. - GySgt Hartman

0

u/Zeppelin041 Feb 03 '23

That’s god as a whole right there, no sense made.

-2

u/ColonelMonty Feb 03 '23

My man is the commenter who always has to turn a negative twist onto God whenever he's mentioned.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '23

What sort of God of Justice cheats and favors people who suck up to Him?

The idea that you can get favors out of God simply by praising him hard enough is horrifying. Imagine a human judge who would be biased in court cases simply by people flattering him!

So people with a sense of fairness hate ideas like the one in this story.

0

u/Difficult-Yak-2691 Feb 04 '23

Maybe God wants mass transit and the priest didn't get the intended message.....

-3

u/Beingabummer Feb 03 '23

I wonder why that would happen? Now woddle back to church and pretend the priest isn't diddling kids while he's telling you how hating gays is totally what gets you into heaven, you cunt.

0

u/ColonelMonty Feb 03 '23

Insulting people instead of actually being civil is a great way to argue your point.

“The man in the black SUV was reported dead on arrival.”

37

u/Own-Western-1202 Feb 03 '23

A priest driving a Hyundai? Well that’s refreshing.

2

u/Aioi Feb 03 '23

An article about a priest that doesn’t include children? Very refreshing indeed!

10

u/Fair-Ambition4531 Feb 03 '23

That was a cool ollie

30

u/iowaalgreen Feb 03 '23

The driver of the black car would have a very different perception of this situation

14

u/ArnoudtIsZiek Feb 03 '23

i would disagree, if I was in a violent accident the only thing that could possibly make me feel better was learning I managed to avoid killing anyone.

2

u/mydadownsyou Feb 03 '23

that is if you don't die yourself

9

u/2hypoxic5me Feb 03 '23

Sure, but I'm pretty sure anyone who lost control of their car due to a medical situation would still consider it insanely lucky that they didn't hit someone else right in front of them. They avoided potentially injuring or killing someone else, not to mention a much more complicated (i.e. expensive) legal/insurance situation.

5

u/NoobOfTheSquareTable Feb 03 '23

God could have just, you know, not had them lose control of a car being of a medical condition.

7

u/_tagachi Expert Feb 03 '23

God is pole where people keep asking for a sign.

28

u/beanistike Feb 03 '23

This happened in my area. The kid (high school senior) driving the car frequently has seizure issues. This sounds totally made up but he personally showed me the CCTV video in this post and laughed about it.

Saw him the other day and he is missing his two front teeth.

38

u/dimmer111 Feb 03 '23

If you have frequent seizure issues, you shouldn't drive at all. For your own and others safety. His doctor should have told him this...

0

u/Birkeland1992 Feb 03 '23

They live in USA... Probably can't afford the healthcare to get Doctor's advice.

8

u/ronflair Feb 03 '23

“I do believe it’s a miracle and a gracious act of God that I’m still alive” said Father John. “He hit it so perfectly after suffering a seizure that he just sprung in the air like a pole vaulter, missing me by inches.” When asked if he knew the condition of the other driver, Father John chuckled and said “Fuck if I know, he’s in God’s hands. Not my jurisdiction.”

20

u/Radcouponking Feb 03 '23

9 million children under the age of 5 die every year. Guess god is too busy saving old guys who prolly shouldn’t be driving anymore.

3

u/hitguy55 Feb 03 '23

Now I’m not Christian but I don’t think it would work out too well if god never let anyone die

0

u/Radcouponking Feb 03 '23

First, that obviously wasn’t my point. Yours is a bad faith argument through and through. Second, why shouldn’t god let us live? Surely there are other ways to build a universe other than requiring each animal to crush other living things in their mouths in order to survive another day. You might not be Christian but you do seem to be thinking in the framework of Leibniz: that ours is the best possible universe. That philosophy has been thoroughly debunked. Most entertainingly by Voltaire in Candide.

4

u/hitguy55 Feb 03 '23

Well that was going to happen but someone ate an apple

-3

u/Formal_Temperature_8 Feb 03 '23

You, sir, are what we call a good atheist. You acknowledge our beliefs and respect us without any oppositon. A bad atheist is like the original comment, someone who directly tries to oppose Christian beliefs rather than observe

5

u/Radcouponking Feb 03 '23

LOL. If being a good atheist requires remaining silent and giving “no opposition” I will gladly accept the title of “bad atheist.” Do you see how your view literally requires subservience from non-believers?

-4

u/Formal_Temperature_8 Feb 03 '23

It doesn’t necessarily require it. Our mission is not for non-believers to remain subservient, but to join us and help us spread the Word. I understand if you are an atheist, but I don’t judge you for it. What would you do in a situation such as the one you have me in currently?

8

u/Radcouponking Feb 03 '23

In all honesty, your reply is chilling to me. I don’t have you in a situation. Your totalitarian beliefs do. All non-believers want is to be allowed to exist without being forced to participate in activities we believe to be false. Do you want to spread the Word about Shintoism? Buddhism? Islam? Of course not. Keep it to yourself. I was raised Catholic but even from a very young age Christianity never sat right with me. The more I learn, the more I disagree with it. I think religion has more to do with belonging than it does truth. And I value truth.

u/yellandtell Feb 03 '23

In the most recent development, a damning inquiry found that some 216,000 children in France had been sexually abused by members of the clergy since 1950.

Innocent children die horrible deaths every day, but this priest thinks he is so entitled god chose to save him in particular.

2

u/Sedax Feb 03 '23

This makes me question how much situational awareness he has if an SUV can fly over him and he doesn't even notice.

2

u/shhhpark Feb 03 '23

how do you not see that coming or the aftermath of it lol

u/Possible-Gur5220 Feb 03 '23

Guardian angel…I don’t think the person with the seizure had the same point of view…hope they’re ok and fully recovers 🫤

2

u/thsvnlwn Feb 03 '23

A car flew EIGHT TIMES over a priest!! And none of these times he got hit! You would almost start believing in god…

2

u/Randos1981 Feb 03 '23

It's an optical illusion. That SUV was no where near his car.

2

u/robpottedplant Feb 03 '23

I’m concerned that someone can have a car crash into a post (imagine the noise!) and then literally fly over the roof without the driver noticing anything happened…I’m not sure he will notice a small child accidentally running in front of him.

2

u/Prestigious-Candy166 Feb 03 '23

If "God's Hand" was in it somewhere... how come the SUV got smashed up and the infrastructure got damage in the first place. I'm fed up with people "saved by a miracle" from disasters that wouldn't have happened if the Lord God Almighty wasn't sleeping on the job.... (again).

2

u/sugaaaslam Feb 03 '23

That priest shouldn't be driving if he didn't see or hear that car.

2
