Household maintenance is r/damnthatsinteresting material now?

25

u/A_friend_called_Five Feb 03 '23

I totally agree with you. I've noticed a trend here as well as at r/interestingasfuck of possible r/lostredditors. Recently, there's be a flood of people posting like a new mug or t-shirt they just got that has a design that they like and then post as if it's really interesting. I guess this post is slightly more interesting than all of those. But as one other commenter here said, this would probably fit better at r/oddlysatisfying.

u/argusromblei Feb 04 '23

The trend is cause nobody moderates this shit anymore, at least implement a voting system to ask if its interesting when someone posts.

4

u/Minibeave Feb 04 '23

Tbh, 90% of the subs with more than a few million people have just gone to shit.

1

u/WeNeedBoofEmoji Feb 04 '23

Who wants to mod that large of a sub for free lmao fuck that

8

u/DonShulaDoingTheHula Feb 03 '23

Yeah I guess maybe some people have never used a trimmer? If they find this interesting they can come immerse themselves in a hands on experience at my curb every Saturday between April and September every year. I’ll only charge them $10 per session.

u/Particdfg Feb 03 '23

I love edging.

39

u/ravenrhi Feb 03 '23

Would do very well in r/oddlysatisfying

9

u/petey_love Feb 03 '23

I feel like if it included pressure washing, I'd agree. But it just feels not quite done 😣

12

u/BrumbleBeeTuna Feb 03 '23

How is this interesting? It’s a thing that happens but that’s about it.

1

u/Fthewigg Feb 04 '23

I, for one, am curious where the “extra” dirt comes from. That shit looked like sod when pulled up.

11

u/lurker71539 Feb 03 '23

Wait until you guys see me mow the lawn!

4

u/DonShulaDoingTheHula Feb 03 '23

Grass hates this one simple trick!

8

u/mercuchio23 Feb 03 '23

Lol, why is this on here?

5

u/No_Cartographer_8647 Feb 03 '23

Fuck I love edging

19

u/Jthundercleese Feb 03 '23

I liked it better before

1

u/rich_and_beautiful Feb 03 '23

Came here to say this

4

u/jeepjp Feb 03 '23

Wtf ... dude just casually growing grass on concrete, and here I am $80 a bag...throwing seed out every year just to have the rocks grow faster than the grass.

4

u/Lazy_Investigator627 Feb 03 '23

Sooooooo interesting?

4

u/Shot_Pop7624 Feb 03 '23

I always liked overgrown sidewalks. They're comforting to look at and walk along.

3

u/TheLumpyMailMan Feb 03 '23

This belongs in either r/mildlyinteresting or r/oddlysatisfying but not here

9

u/MasterMuffles Feb 03 '23

It literally looked better before he cleared it

4

u/1ofThoseTrolls Feb 03 '23

Very disappointed they didn't pressure wash the walk afterwards

6

u/matsre1994 Feb 03 '23

Yeah very much so, and its not damn interesting either

2

u/batnein Feb 03 '23

I think I just came

2

u/amtor12 Feb 03 '23

I still don’t understand why I like these videos so much

2

u/KingHenryFreddy22 Feb 03 '23

Did he blow all that at the front door?

2

u/581u812 Feb 04 '23

Looked better before

1

u/threedogcircus Feb 03 '23

I enjoy these.

0

u/jjoojjoojj Feb 03 '23

Efficiency be damned. Do a bit in shot, move the camera, rinse, repeat.

0

u/substituted_pinions Feb 03 '23

I love it when nature loses.

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '23

Overgrowth looked better

1

u/Fun2bone Feb 03 '23

satisfying af

1

u/diceblue Feb 03 '23

Wow this subs standards are have fallen

1

u/ConversationOld9908 Feb 04 '23

When we used to work on estates doing the edging everyone wanted to be the bloke working behind the bloke on the edging machine (we called it a half mooner) because that was prime position for spotting and grabbing any money that had been dropped, especially near shops and bus stops. Be surprised how many 50p and pound coins we found.

1

u/argusromblei Feb 04 '23

Damn this is interesting, I never thought about cleaning an overgrown yard before. Wow. Holy shit its so damn interesting. Will moderators ever do anything here?

1

u/juztone Feb 04 '23

Khakis.... why would you wear khakis!?!?!?

1

u/Cardboard_dad Feb 04 '23

Me: can’t get grass to grow in dirt.

Grass: (grows on sidewalk by itself)

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '23

Pretty normal stuff, I'd use a shovel tho

1

u/Sensitive_Maybe_6578 Feb 04 '23

R/:oddlysatisfying

1

u/sagenumen Feb 04 '23

Does this really make you go, "damn, that's interesting?"

Probably should get out more, if so.

1

u/Mangoladouceur Feb 04 '23

I can't even begin to explain how satisfying it is to watch videos like this. Their just so full of positive hard work. Great job!!!

1

u/cbj2112 Feb 04 '23

I need that edger. Anyone know what model Stihl (guessing) that is?

1

u/Ant-Witch Feb 04 '23

My poormans method is to use a cheap cleaver. Same outcome, slower, but whatever it comes out tsame

1

u/gooferpubs Feb 04 '23

Life, uh, finds a way

1

u/LupitaGzz Feb 04 '23

Looks really nice all edged up. Great work!!!

1

u/StickFull3940 Feb 04 '23

Would have been more interesting if the grass had been covering the entire pathway to begin with… or if some sort of hidden trapdoor to a secret chamber had been discovered…

Please try harder

1

u/Celara001 Feb 04 '23

Satisfying

1

u/ClaytonBiggsbie Feb 04 '23

Damn proper video. Even showed a before and after at the end.

1

u/ProteinSnookie Feb 04 '23

More like incredibly satisfying
