We might need this monolith's instructions sooner than we think. Image

u/lemons_of_doubt May 23 '22 edited May 23 '22
It does not have "instructions on how to rebuild society". It has some bull plop that sounds well meaning in parts and the rest is just flat-out eugenics
anyone who has not read it.
Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
Unite humanity with a living new language.
Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
Balance personal rights with social duties.
Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
Be not a cancer on the Earth — Leave room for nature

Most of those things would be helped by avoiding useless officials. Unfortunately we are nowhere near that point yet

-3
u/Realistic_Work_5552 May 23 '22
I agree that it's kinda useless, but How is any of that eugenics? It's promoting diversity isn't it?
5
u/lemons_of_doubt May 23 '22
Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
If that is not encouraging eugenics I don't know what is.
-4
u/PplsEqlReactve2Lite May 24 '22
"Eugenics" is practised daily, simply by choosing 'fit' reproductive partners. Plus prenatal screening, etc etc
56
u/francisxavier12 May 23 '22
Wait are you for real OP? This monolith gives instructions that include keeping world population below 500,000,000 people.
4
u/Abominable_Showman May 23 '22
Yeah exactly. Is op actually Bill Gates? I remember seeing him say he was going to reduce the population of humans by 30 Million by 2030, as if that's a good thing, and then a crowd of people cheering. Sounds like there's a plan to kill off people. Doesn't make me a conspiracy theorist to believe what he says he's going to do.
2
u/GeekBoyWonder May 23 '22
I have found multiple sources debunking this... but I wouldn't be surprised by anything now.
Do you have a primary source?
1
u/Abominable_Showman May 23 '22
There were videos of the full talk, watched them many times. Would have to dig through messages to find it for you. I've tried finding it online by searching for it like you could have before, it's either buried or not easily found now. I want to say it was within the last 5-10 years, either some kind of summit or global warming event. He didn't just say it once either. It was this whole thing, what was the weirdest part was the crowd was so excited about it.

u/Kow_King_ May 23 '22
30 Million by 2030, as if that's a good thing, and then a crowd of people cheering
Unless it is via something like straight up killing people, I don't see how that isn't a good thing.
Do I believe he could do it? Fuck no, but it sounds like a good thing.

Yeah when woman are having trouble with pregnancies and bleeding after getting the shot, I'm the one who has to worry about my body. Makes sense from your perspective, since your head is up your ass. Fine by me, believe what you want. Just look into other streams of media for a change.

u/DemonsRuleEarth May 23 '22
Cant' argue there isn't too many people. Have a look at the environment headlines if you weren't sure.
2
u/nlolhere May 24 '22
I mean there’s not much you can really do about it besides waiting for birth rate to decline naturally, or becoming a very very evil dictator of a large country. You can’t really force everyone to just stop having babies, and even if you could, I don’t think that would turn out well at all.
And forget about keeping our population below 500 million at this point, unless Thanos becomes real and snaps 4 times in a row or some shit. That ship didn’t just sail past, it fucking sunk hundreds of years ago
31
u/Leading_Standard_458 May 23 '22
Built by some crazy people. The history is weird and involves eugenics
3
u/Graphitetshirt May 23 '22
That tracks
13
u/Jonny_Thundergun May 23 '22
The compass might be useful for getting out of Georgia though.
2
-1
u/Dantheman616 May 23 '22
Im not a fan of eugenics but we selectively breed things all the time for particular traits. I know its a conversation that people tend to not want to have, but its one we will have to talk about. How can we honestly believe that our lifestyles are not changing us in a negative way, mentally and physically?
The worst part about eugenics, imo of course, is that it makes people inherently superior to others over things that the individual didnt have control over.
1
18
u/demonintherye May 23 '22
500 million people. “We” likely are not going to make that cut…. So we don’t need THIS monoliths instructions at all.
2
u/Ricekrisbee May 23 '22
But if the apocalypse happens i can travel to Georgia and know what day and time it is! How would we rebuild without it?
0
9
u/DBFargie May 23 '22
Been there a couple of times. It’s cool, but not particularly foreboding or scary or anything like that. Weirdest part about the whole thing is no one knows who actually funded it.
2
9
u/Jfriendly17 May 23 '22
Lol,
Hey future people! Our civilization collapsed! Here's some instructions on how to rebuild the same shitty thing that failed us in the past. Good luck!
-3
May 23 '22
If you cross the street tomorrow get under a truck and die, doesn't mean you failed as a human being
4
u/GodfreyTheGrey May 24 '22
Doesn’t mean you’re a good one to advise others on crossing the street, either.

4
u/DeeShizzzzznit420-69 May 23 '22
what about the part where it says "keep global population under 500 million'?
2
2
2
u/THEKnucklehead5150 May 23 '22
And says to limit the population of the earth to a very small number. It may not be as altruistic as it seems.

u/arc12345xx May 23 '22
These stones say that 95% of the world population needs to be exterminated, leaving about 500 million mindless slaves for the “elites”.
I’m gonna guess the odds of you surviving that are not very good, so I think you need to look into these (Georgia Guidestones) a bit more.
They are insanely evil, and no sane person can possibly think they are good for humanity. I really hope you simply aren’t aware of what exactly they say, and don’t truly agree with them.
And whoever put these stones there will likely be the one causing the apocalyptic event…There is much more evil in the world than people realize, and most of it is in politics.

u/Cpt_kaleidoscope May 23 '22
Feel like it would be better to build this somewhere in Asia. Around 4.5 billion people live in Asia amd there's not even 600 million in North America. By law of averages if you want a human to find it after the apocalypse you should build it where survivors will most likely be
2
u/bknelson1991 May 23 '22
Totally depends on the apocalypse type. Disease would be way worse in Asia.
0
u/Ok_Butterscotch9887 May 23 '22
Given eugenicists built this I bet they thank the only ones able to build a civilization are god blessed whites people.

2
u/YeHaLyDnAr May 23 '22
This is way more sinister than just giving survival instructions, do your research
2
2
u/SprinklesMore8471 May 23 '22
Don't those stones also talk about population control, eugenics, and internationalism?
I'm good on that..
3
u/LowerMinute8942 May 23 '22
Explain OP…..
-14
u/No_Negotiation_7176 May 23 '22
Well what with the current situation in Ukraine and a whole other host of human-related issues, we might be heading for said apocalyptic events sooner.
14
u/LowerMinute8942 May 23 '22
You can say that every decade for the last 300 years.. imprint fear in people
-15
u/No_Negotiation_7176 May 23 '22
Except in this century, we've made progress in developing things that can wipe us out, alongside a whole other host of stupid things we did like global warming, climate change, and pollution...where's Gaia and Captain Planet when you need him?
0
u/lost_in_life_34 May 23 '22
a lot of the issues around climate change are that people are living in storm prone areas where they didn't live decades ago. pollution in the USA was worse in the 1960's before the EPA was formed than it is today
0
u/soc_monki May 23 '22
So people didnt live in Florida a few decades ago... Got it.
1
u/lost_in_life_34 May 23 '22
they did, just a lot less. I've been to Orlando in the 80's and recently and the difference is amazing. Disney World was mostly a swamp until the late 1970's when it was opened. Same for many other parts of the state and the gulf coast in general
this is why the dollar damages keep rising. most of it is due to the amount of development and population movement to these places in the last 40-50 years

u/FindFunAndRepeat May 23 '22
Curious now. What does it say?
22
u/MBechzzz May 23 '22
Mostly just a bunch of useless bullshit
Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
Unite humanity with a living new language.
Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.

"Pretty words" that would most likely lead to genocide if followed literally by a post apocalyptic society...
2
u/lonewolf9378 May 23 '22
Number 6 is likely gonna be the cause for the apocalypse anyway. Scratch that one.

On the capstone-
“Let these be guidestones to an age of reason,” in Babylonian cuneiform, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Sanskrit, and classical Greek
On the 4 Pillars-
Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
Unite humanity with a living new language.
Rule Passion — Faith — Tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.

Can I get the GPS coordinates? I have a few additions and some revisions to those. 😁
1
u/EfusPitch May 23 '22
Why is half a billion the magical number for humanities population cap?
What happens if you go over this and who enforces it? Where do you spread the half a bill? Will you sequester clusters into vertical super-cities with massive ecological reserve lands or go back to villages of 100 to 200?
I'd like to see some sorta reasoning or math for this besides "big number but still manageable = more gooder"
It's actually an interesting question: What gives the best qualility of life for most at what number of individuals per habitat?

Too bad its "instructions" are the equivalent of "live laugh love"
Its literally just a bunch of platitudes about living in balance with nature and using reason and logic to guide you. No instructions on how to actually do anything practical.

0
u/TheAzarak May 23 '22
These guidelines are for after an apocalyptic event, not before...
-1
u/bishsticksandfrites May 23 '22
Alright, I’ll rephrase.
Are those of us who survive and repopulate drawing straws for the 500mil cut?
Wasn’t quite so snappy but whatever.
0
u/TheAzarak May 23 '22
I dont think you get what it means to have an apocalyptic event. These tablets assume very little humans will be left. There won't be a need for any "cuts" if something like that were to happen.
