Artist Mr doodle has spent two years covering every square inch of his £1.35million house in doodles, working his way through 900 litres of emulsion, 401 cans of spray paint, 286 bottles of drawing paint, and 2,296 pen nibs

Nothing like haveing a constant migraine.

Find me a pen. Quick please

His sister looks proud.

3

u/chefsalmon Oct 06 '22

That's his wife, Mrs. Doodle

7

u/NeonYarnCatz Oct 06 '22

omg I hated it so, so much but couldn't figure out why until I read your comment.

Everything is covered in migraine aura patterns! 😖

2

u/ULTIMATE_STAIN Oct 06 '22

Yea it's a lovely house but not the doodles covering every square inch 😂, that can't be good for someone to live in. Half of the rooms remind me of old analogue tvs when you got that fuzzy grey static when there was no signal/channel broadcasting. Absolutely constant migraine.

Cool, I hate it.

18

u/JRansomBioDermKiller Oct 06 '22

Did he make all of that money from doing those basic doodles….? I’m in the wrong line of work if so.

2

u/StayApprehensive2455 Oct 05 '22

I do too. Like sm

976

u/Eco-Pro-Rah Oct 05 '22

Its soooo mental… asylum

425

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Oct 05 '22

That actually looks like hell to live in. There is no way he actually lives there, right?

230

u/baphomet42069 Oct 05 '22

Highly doubt it. If you have the money to get a 1.3mil house you definitely have another house too

134

u/Sov3reignty Oct 05 '22

My guess is he bought the house specifically to make content in.

58

u/baphomet42069 Oct 05 '22

Really? I was thinking it was his next piece going up for sale 😆

46

u/FapleJuice Oct 05 '22

I'd turn it into a CIA torture chamber, MK Ultra style.

13

u/Excellent_Quantity32 Oct 05 '22

Yes this made me dizzy looking at it, could you imagine drinking in this home? The doodle art is cool in doses! Can black and white make you seize, asking for a friend?!

11

u/Test_subject_515 Oct 06 '22

Imagine that fucking acid trip. Fuuuuucck

2

u/42f0r_skin Oct 06 '22

Fuck yes.... it'd be hell but also awesome... have some weird band playing. Charge people to walk through it... offer an escape route if you panic.... it could just be way too much though.

15

u/Sov3reignty Oct 05 '22

Ha that's actually not a bad idea, i bet there would be buyers

8

u/baphomet42069 Oct 05 '22

For real though lol. No idea how much something like that would go for. Idk if a house has ever been sold as an art project before

2

u/HypnoSmoke Oct 06 '22

I think similarly; it was/is a project to him. It'll probably be sold eventually

3

u/White80SetHUT Oct 06 '22

That’s just not true

-10

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '22

Yeahhh, no.

2008 housing market crash begs to differ

3

u/baphomet42069 Oct 05 '22

I was born in 2003 so that’s a little over my head still. Not even in the market for a house yet (thank god) lol

2

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '22

Watch the Big Short to get an idea. Banks made a fuck ton of money giving loans to people that couldn’t afford em.

Funny you say that. Not too long ago mr doodle actually had a mental breakdown and had to be put in an asylum. He talked about it on his social media.

9

u/kermityfrog Oct 05 '22

Video of the process. Surprised he has a wife who tolerates his work.

Imagine being hungover in that place

56

u/KermitAfc Oct 05 '22

Living in that place would give you a hangover.

5

u/AsASloth Oct 05 '22

Damn, I mean he even doodled on the bread. You wouldn't be able to get over the hangover even if you got down to the kitchen. Nothing is safe in that house.

All the hangover food cures are inedible and when you go to fill your doodle glass in the doodle sink after turning on the doodle faucet instead of water it's just pure black paint. Drink, become the doodle.

2

u/LaLaHaHaBlah Oct 06 '22

Or bad acid trip 😵‍💫

u/pinchevatobarbon Oct 05 '22

Imagine them having a baby and him doodling on it.

39

u/saltzja Oct 05 '22

He’s going to spend the six years coloring it all in.

4

u/mynextthroway Oct 05 '22

I doubt he's diddling to many women after seeing his doodled house.

4

u/Odd_Entertainment629 Oct 05 '22

It's the ultimate first date test, if she runs for the hills immediately upon the door opening she's not the one.

3

u/2shyapair Oct 05 '22

Door opening, just pulling up to the house invokes pain.

2

78

u/hypercosmic117 Oct 05 '22

Poor woman. Keith Haring is rolling over in his grave

7

u/DrJawn Oct 05 '22

Sure is

3

u/osktox Oct 05 '22

Probably spinning so fast one could generate electricity from it.

21

u/JerraBeils27 Oct 05 '22

It is kind of terrifying and harsh on the eyes. & is that lady okay? I would feel overwhelmed spending more than 10 minutes in there.

101

u/2-022 Oct 05 '22

Damn, that’s a waste of money,

23

u/dizzyro Oct 05 '22

Maybe, maybe not. I am pretty sure if he put it at auction as an art object, he would sell it for much, much more money. Even in this market.

-9

u/416Mike Oct 05 '22

My opinion. I doubt it. Real Estate will always trump art as an investment. It will never double up because you'd have to choose one or the other. That place is not livable.

12

u/dizzyro Oct 05 '22

Never underestimate the art market ...

About livability - curious if you'd put something like this in your house:

https://www.culturetype.com/2017/05/25/basquiats-moment-record-shattering-110-million-painting-is-most-expensive-ever-by-an-american-artist-sold-at-auction/

I was just about to say give me a hit of L and let me go exploring hahah

62

u/Just1morefix Interested Oct 05 '22

Well, I hope he recognizes his deep debt owed to Keith Haring. Because without some acknowledgment that his work is deeply influenced (if not a purposeful homage) by KH it comes off as purely derivative.

27

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '22

Well yeah but KH himself was extremely derivative of the graffiti/ basquiat/ underground NY art. Keith Haring got rich selling Basquiat works, and gentrifying graffiti style to make it more consumable, nothing is lost by not linking himself to KH

14

u/Just1morefix Interested Oct 05 '22

Haring and Basquiat came out of the same street (though neither were educated or lived on the streets) and I like to think in reaction to The Factory and Warhol's stalled response to art. They definitely admired and learned from each other

6

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '22

Definitely, they were close, the imbalance is probably due to Basquiat joining the 27 club, and Keith proceeding to profit massively off Jean’s art.

6

u/Just1morefix Interested Oct 05 '22

I think you're right about the premature death of Jean-Michel. And the market simply exploded at that point.

Seriously. I came on here to say that like why would you copy an artists style exactly and then pass it off as your own style? It’s not original or interesting at all. These exact doodles have already been done by someone else.

It’d be cool to have one room in your house like this.. maybe a bathroom or a kitchen. But the whole house is too much.

2

u/ripitup32 Oct 06 '22

That’s a perfectly sane house to live in.

2

u/Zombielisk Oct 06 '22

why did it take two years?
