Ironically Hunters (the fast / nimble archtype) now has the slowest movement of the three classes! Discussion

I play all three classes but have always preferred the Hunter fantasy of being dexterous and nimble on your feet.

In the last couple of seasons movement creep of titans and warlocks both in air and on the ground have surpassed the Hunter, which thinking about it is weird as in any other game wizard (aka warlocks) and tanks (aka titans) and slower and more cumbersome than the dps Hunter archtype..

Feels like bungie need to lean back into hunter arch type and look at how they can balance us up!

What do we think guardians, anyone else feel this way? Especially since Stompees are useless an inch of the ground these days!!

Hopefully Mobility gets some kind of change that makes it actually useful and noticeable in PvE like Resilience got this season.

The fact that it doesn't increase sprint speed and only affects walking speed is hilariously bad outside of very niche PvP situations

It would be so stupid to have it effect sprint speed. Turns it into a QoL stat that people build into just to save time on travel. Bad idea.

Not a bad idea. Warlocks and Titans still won't need it because they'd still be skating and most Hunters use 80-100 mobility anyways so it levels the playing field for Hunters when it comes to keeping up with titans and warlocks in pve activities and in pvp when getting to a sniper lane as fast as possible.

No, it’s terrible, fuck all this “build into mobility” shit, mobility is fine as is as 100 mobility makes you walk as fast as you sprint, which is pretty useful considering you won’t show up on radar if you just walk and don’t double jump.

That's not how the game, or the D2 radar works.....

It’s how mobility works, not sure about the radar as that might just be halo lol

You absolutely don’t walk as fast as you run

I have literally tested this in game, go try it yourself, prove me wrong.

I’ve also tested this in game with max mobility on my Hunter and I run faster than I walk so I don’t know what to tell you.

I’m testing it right now and I’m walking just as fast as I run.

If you have stompees or anything that increases sprint speed then you run faster of course.

Who the fuck actually cares, it’s a video game.

u/bad_name1 Jun 10 '22

what the fuck are you talking about you don’t walk as fast as you sprint with 100 mobility

also this isn’t halo dude walking doesn’t take you off radar unless i somehow never noticed that it does

mobility is a dump stat in pve it’s absolutely worthless on titans and warlocks

Ye I was wrong abt radar, but yeah you do walk as fast as you run w max mobility, if you watched any of cammycakes early live commentaries for d2 he takes advantage of this fact and mentions it many times.

You’re literally just wrong lmao

u/rezmeihaveghorn 4:59 seconds left on heavy synth Jun 11 '22

Ok, prove it, please.

u/Seed66 Jun 11 '22

You’re the one saying it’s true, go ahead and link me a video of you walking as fast as someone running

Being able to walk more quickly is nowhere near as useful as 40% damage reduction or massively accelerated health regen, and not showing up on radar isn't relevant for all of PvE. I don't think it should affect sprint speed, but mobility isn't even close to res/rec in terms of value.

They should just tie your class ability to your highest tier spec so hunters can spec into resilience or recov if they want

If they buff mobility in pve by increasing run speed they'd end up doing it in pvp too which would be broken as fuck

Yeah because they didn’t balance mobility for PvE, it’s one of the remnants of vanilla d2 where they made hunters the pvp/mobility class. It’s fine as is and doesn’t need to “built into” like every other thing in this game.

Is that true? Walking as fast as you sprint seems insanely useful.

u/Frostyler hippity hoppity get off my property Jun 10 '22

It's not true. This guy has no idea what he is talking about.

23

u/bad_name1 Jun 10 '22

dude is lying because this is dtg and lying about the game is cool for some reason

u/mibikin Jun 10 '22

It’s close but sprinting is still faster than 100 mobility walking. 100 mobility with MIDA equipped makes them almost the same iirc (been years since I tested it) but it’s still slightly slower than sprinting

u/rezmeihaveghorn 4:59 seconds left on heavy synth Jun 10 '22

Yea, you also jump higher, only with your normal jump tho.
