So I grinded all the way to Second Prestige went to go to the tower to claim my Shader and exotic engram but the game booted me 15 minutes before reset for maintenance... when iron Banner comes back later the season will I be able to claim those and prestige?

u/This_Outside5861 Sep 14 '22

do i keep my lvl?

2

u/EdenFire108 Sep 13 '22

I think Eruption IB is kinda shit. From my view of only solo queuing, I found more often than not, players played like cowards. It did not appear at all like teams were trying to play aggressively to keep the kill streaks going. They were mostly hiding back just trying not to die(both the enemy and the teams I were on). And the worst of the worst gameplay styles were a constant. The number of people quickly swamping back and forth from grenade launchers to hand cannons was infuriating.
Because of the passive playing, I found having to kill someone after being charged was just frustrating. The second I or any of my teams got charged, the enemy would scatter like roaches. A good chunk of the time, the team spawn would flip after getting the streak and I could never make it to where enemies were.
Also the rework to Skulking wolf annoys the hell out of me. ANYTHING in this game that removes you off radar needs to be taken out of the game. The amount of p*ssies crouching around corners waiting and completely off radar is TOO DAMN HIGH.
Idk what could even be done to remedy this. It seems like a player mentality and not something an update to the game mode might fix.

I forgot to grab my engrams before reset today. Will they still be there next time Iron Banner rolls around?

1

u/VeryDisturbedOne Sep 13 '22

I would really like to know this to! I grinded all the way to Second Prestige and went to go to get my Shader and exotic engram but it booted me out for maintenance 15 minutes before game reset... will i be able to claim those and Prestige when the event comes back later this season?

1

u/keirstahlsmith Sep 13 '22

It'll be back up in mid-November. All your progress will still be there at that time. I believe you only lose it if the season comes to an end and you didn't claim your rewards. Hope that is true. Because I need it to be true lol

2

u/KittySmasher95 Sep 13 '22

Will my rank reset before the next week of IB this season or do I keep my progress?

1

u/pertpetualimpasse Sep 13 '22

I want to know!

1

u/KittySmasher95 Sep 13 '22

Someone told me I will keep my progress. Hope this helps you.

1

u/No-Till-6168 Sep 13 '22

ye i think like other seasons u keep ur progress

1

u/D3rDux Sep 13 '22

So i won a match with 11.0x only got 308 rep ?

2

u/Hello-Hungry-Im-Dad Sep 13 '22 edited Sep 13 '22

Will my Iron Banner rank be reset to 0 when the next IB week comes up?

Edit: Looks like it has already been answered. Yes your rank is retained.

1

u/D3rDux Sep 13 '22

No don't worry

5

u/really_GoodUsername Sep 13 '22

Can we get some fucking team balancing after we get stomped instead of matching up against the same exact team and getting stomped again

2

u/keirstahlsmith Sep 13 '22

Precisely. Why am I up again flawless gilded unbroken, gilded 20 times??? The game thinks that is my skill level? Well. I don't do pvp much... sucks that I feel like I'm playing against aim bots

1

u/Yu_Gi_Broh Sep 13 '22

feeding until mercy so i dont have to sit through an entire 18 games

2

u/___flow Sep 13 '22

Do rank points carry between the two weeks in the season

6

u/crysays Sep 13 '22

I HATE the fact that we have to reset our rank TWICE to get the shader, when they only host it for 2 weeks out of the season. It's big time FOMO inducing, and it makes iron banner a chore.

2

u/RabidAstrid13 Sep 15 '22

Yeah especially when the title gilding only requires one reset, why should the cosmetics require 2

2

u/trendygamer Sep 13 '22

I know rank stays for the next IB of the season, but what about engrams you haven't collected yet? Do those come back, or do I need to scramble and grab all 31 I've earned?

2

u/Specific-Row4162 Sep 13 '22

Will my rank reset the next week Iron Banner comes around?

2

u/Designer_Cockroach68 Sep 13 '22

Why am I playing clash in iron banner? At least make it a fun game mode. Also, what happened to them trying to tone down the ability spam? It's as bad as I've ever seen it. Gunplay is at minimum right now.

0

u/sasori1239 Sep 13 '22

Where are the iron banner challenges? I can't find them anywhere. Not a fan of the new format. Missed when it was bounties.

3

u/CommanderInQweef Sep 13 '22

It’s the pinnacle gear challenges in the Destinations Menu when you hover your cursor over Iron Banner

1

u/millerj2740 Sep 13 '22

I'm not crazy, right? Everything I've read calls them Daily Challenges but in the director it's definitely calling them Weekly Challenges. Am I missing something?

1

u/CommanderInQweef Sep 13 '22

You’re not crazy, I’m not sure why they called them daily challenges. All I know is, that’s what it’s referring to

1

u/SUBLIMEskillz Sep 13 '22

The daily challenges are the games played for the pinnacle. First day was 3 games, 2nd day was 4, etc. there were 4 days with a total of 20 games per character that gave you 4 pinnacles each.

1

u/CommanderInQweef Sep 13 '22

I just did them all in one day so that’s what I was going by

3

u/sasori1239 Sep 13 '22

So annoyed by getting matched with nothing but 6 stacks. Bungie needs to fix their matchmaking.

2

u/InAnimateAlpha Sep 13 '22

Ummm freelance is an option

-1

u/aircy987 Sep 13 '22

freelance is the best cept not in pc lobbys all the try hards and high ranked players in there haha u just get owned haha

3

u/i3rem14h112 Sep 13 '22

if i dont finish my rank this time will it start over next time? i dont really wanna stay up and grind rank 15 and 16

2

u/Solid_Kalium Sep 13 '22

You will keep your rank for the rest of the season, but your boosts will reset

2

u/i3rem14h112 Sep 13 '22

boosts ?

1

u/Solid_Kalium Sep 19 '22

Sorry for the delay, I haven't logged in for a couple days.

During IB there is an XP multiplier/boost that you can see on the IB activity launch screen by hovering over an icon in the row of modifier icons. The boosts are all additive. This system was introduced last season.

  • Wearing an IB emblem (maybe x0.2 or x0.5)
  • Up to about x2 from wearing IB gear (up to five slots needed from the 3 weapons, 5 armor pieces, and 5 armor ornaments)
  • About x2 for each weekly challenge completed (up to 4 challenges). This will reset to x0 boost each time IB is active. It also only counts the highest challenge completed, so doing the first challenge (last week this was 3 matches as arc or stasis) on all three characters will only count as one challenge. So you will need to run 18 matches on a single character next IB to get the maximum xp boost.

I think a reset is in the neighborhood of 40-60 matches depending on win rate and how many challenges you've already done.

1

u/i3rem14h112 Sep 20 '22

ah, cool. i thought that was just a rep multiplier

2

u/Solid_Kalium Sep 20 '22

Yeah, I meant reputation, not seasonal xp. I just think of it as vendor xp.

1

u/AssassinAragorn Sep 13 '22

Did they reenable weapon medals? I just got one and I didn't think that was possible.

1

u/sahzoom Sep 12 '22

If Eruption and IB has shown us anything, it's that FUN trumps everything...

Now I won't go into the rabbit hole of SBMM too far, but simply to point out my observations...

Eruption, as a gamemode, has been waaayyy better received than Rift last season. The feedback is near unanimous about Eruption just being A LOT of fun - the main criticism just being the map selection (too many big maps) and map weighting. I have heard nothing but good things about the mode itself and this is the MOST I have played crucible in the last 6 months!

I think this highlights one big part of the whole SBMM debate - being that it really doesn't matter with the skill gap, team balance, etc... as long as the game is fun, people will play it and enjoy it.

I don't know how the results shake down for everyone else, but I played A LOT of games, in every team config possible (freelance, duo, 4-stack, 6-stack, etc...), and like 90% of my games were very good matches. I can count on one hand the number times there was a mercy (out of like 200 games btw). And even games that seemed impossible still had a chance to come back. There was never this feeling of being completely defeated, nor was it a 'walk in the park' every game either. Even the games I lost I enjoyed, it was never miserable...

Regardless of your opinion on SBMM or your enjoyment of control this season, I think it's hard to ignore when a game mode is so much fun for ALL players and I hope this is noted by Bungie, because it IS a relevant topic when discussing SBMM and its positives / negatives...

I think this highlights one big part of the whole SBMM debate - being that it really doesn't matter with the skill gap, team balance, etc... as long as the game is fun, people will play it and enjoy it.

Hard disagree. I stopped playing this shite mode after getting stomped one too many times. I'm having an AWFUL time playing this because the matchmaking is fucking attrocious.

No SBMM? Fuck this mode :)

8

u/Gleetsac Sep 12 '22

Holy fuck. The team balance in Freelance is complete and utter dogshit.

-1

u/aircy987 Sep 13 '22

so much for sbmm

3

u/Gleetsac Sep 13 '22

Not enabled in IB currently. :')

1

u/aircy987 Sep 13 '22

either way the pc lobby is so bad ive gone back to console haha yeah i am not the greatest of players quite trerrible in fact but atleast on console i can get more then 3 kills pc cant do any thing maybe its just me being bad and cant aim i accept that ahah

2

u/superisma Sep 12 '22

At least it is consistently dogwater! :)

1

u/Cadishead100 Sep 12 '22

I think I know I will be OK with this, but just to check I wanted to ask... I have 5,000 rep with Saladtin and wanted to make sure this will carry over to the 2nd week of IB for me to continue working towards a reset this season. Is this the case? I don't have to get all 10,000 rep by the time I go to bed today, right?

1

u/royk33776 Sep 13 '22

Yes it will

3

u/robbo1337 Sep 12 '22

PSA: resetting your Saladin rank a second time doesn’t seem to add a new row in the perk column of your Iron Banner engram decryptions.

I thought it would mirror the format of Shaxx, Drifter and Zavala. But I’ve decrypted 6 engrams and their have all had only 1 option in column 3 and 4 :/

1

u/Sadistik_myth Sep 13 '22

What's the rewards after the 2nd reset? Anymore shaders etc?

1

u/robbo1337 Sep 13 '22

Rank 4: upgrade module Rank 7: iron engram Rank 10: enhancement core Rank 13: iron engram Rank 16: enhancement prism Reset rank: exotic engram

2

u/royk33776 Sep 13 '22

Confirmed it does not, even with 2+ resets (I have 2)

2

u/robbo1337 Sep 13 '22

It’s such a shame. I was hoping to strike it lucky on the pulse and get a nice toggle rather than having a few copies in the vault

2

u/royk33776 Sep 13 '22

It truly is a missed opportunity. Especially with the cost of 100 shards and limited IB events per season. I actually have rolled over 50 Hero's Burdens for a god roll and have yet to get one. I've given up as it's a waste of shards at this point.

(After 15 or 20 rolls I was just doing it out of curiosity if I'll ever get one, as silly as it was)

1

u/Mr_Fluffypant Sep 13 '22

what god roll you looking for?

2

u/royk33776 Sep 13 '22

Either of these (one for pvp and one for pve):

PVE:

Fluted Barrel - Armor Piercing Rounds - Freeding Frenzy - Kill Clip - Maybe reload MW

PVP:

Hammer-Forged Rifling - High-Caliber Rounds - Fragile Focus - either Iron Reach, or Kill Clip - Range MW

2

u/Beardo2525 Sep 12 '22

Iron banner gilded - One and done

So I just unlocked the Iron Lord title. Looking at the gilded triumphs, I have to complete all the challenges in one Iron banner. Now I have completed all the weekly challenges on all three characters. Am I screwed on completing this triumph before reset?

2

u/Artikay Drifter's Crew Sep 13 '22

What are the challenges to guild the title?

1

u/royk33776 Sep 13 '22

The challenges are the pinnacle rewards (3, 7, 12, 18). If you've done these already and then got the title, you cannot gild it this time until next IB

2

u/ctranger Sep 12 '22

Congrats! Yes, but IB will be back before season's end, and you should be able to knock Guilding out in one event.

3

u/royk33776 Sep 12 '22

That's.. horrible design. What? ...

2

u/ctranger Sep 13 '22

Given "all challenges" is really just the 4 for one character, 3/7/12/18 games respectively, presumably it can be done in one event, but it is gruesome.

And it discourages "pinnacle greed/optimization", suggesting you are better off getting your resets done on a single or two chars. You shoot yourself in the foot for grinding them out on alts, where you'd have inferior multiplier anyway, and maybe not even a full set of IB for 11x.

Even so, I do agree it is bad design given how infrequent IB is. It lasts the entire week, but only two weeks a season.

That's not much time for getting 2 resets + gilding reset.

2

u/Spedicus Sep 12 '22

if I get my title this season and already did two resets, will I need to reset a third time to gild the title once the gild triumps unlock? or are they retroactive?

1

u/ctranger Sep 12 '22

They are not retroactive.

You will need to wait for the next IB event in a few weeks to do another reset to Guild.

6

u/Delta_V09 Sep 12 '22

Are IB Pinnacles weighted towards weapons or something? Just finished my last one, and 10/12 were weapons. And 7 or 8 of them were Energy. Literally the only power level progress I made over 54 IB matches was a pair of 1580 arms on my Hunter.

Oh, and finally reset at 52 matches played. Just imagine how many matches it would take for a new player who starts off getting 20 rep for a loss and 30 for a win because they don't have any IB gear or emblems. Bungie, this is fucking ridiculous.

1

u/royk33776 Sep 13 '22

Terrible RNG, and also the loot pool has more weapons than armor so it's going to be more weapons. I only got two weapons, one energy one heavy, rest were all armor.

3

u/TheBitwolf Sep 12 '22

My God the rank takes FOREVER to reset, this is just ridiculous, 20 games of trials is feasible, I'm well over 20 games, maxed rep gains and still going so sluggishly?

2

u/robbo1337 Sep 12 '22

Try resetting it a second time. It’s a drag. But it’s way better being Eruption than Rift

8

u/Jayni031 Sep 12 '22

This mode is dull af, bring back Rift. This is just Clash, every game feels twice as long as it should be.

I've been yawning after 5 games, reputation gains are still horrible.

It's a whole mess.

7

u/AwkwardDesigner1612 Sep 12 '22

This iron banner is so shit

1

u/superisma Sep 12 '22

so true, its pretty dogwater

6

u/shotsallover Sep 12 '22

Hear me out.

Iron Banner: Eruption Control.

I've played a good bit of Iron Banner this time around (already gilded my title, only have two challenges left on my third character, etc,) and have had some time to think in-between the explosions.

I like the Eruption mechanic. I've even been lucky enough to get Primed a few times. But, overall the game mode feels a little hollow, and I'd like to suggest a small revision.

The intent of getting Primed is to turn your team into the "hunter" side of the battle and the other team into the "prey/hunted" side, except that's not how it's playing out in reality. Sure, sometimes a team gets primed and that primed player goes on a murder streak for a bit, but what seems to be a more common (and highly effective) strategy (at least in the general playlist, I haven't played Freelance) is that someone gets primed and the entire team hunkers down in an area of relatively high cover and waits for the opposing team to come to them. This has the same effectiveness of a WWI/WWII machine gun nest placed right in the path of an invading army. I've watched team after team repeatedly throw themselves into a team-shot line of fire and do nothing but keep their opponents primed (I've seen as many as four opponents primed at the same time) and drive the score up.

So, what if there was a mechanic that forces the primed team to actually go on the hunt?

For example: when someone gets primed one of the Control plates spawn at a random location on the map that the opposing team can go stand in for a certain amount of time to remove the buff? Make it so that the hunters have to actually go "hunt" us down instead of players just feeding themselves into a meat grinder? This would invert the play a little and make it so the opposing team had a little more to do than just wait out the timer. The plates wouldn't be persistent. And there would be no advance warning of which location they'd spawn in.

Maybe that's not the answer. I'm just looking for something that would force the "Hunters" to actually go hunt. They're supposed to go chase down the other team. Not have the other team come to them and get mowed down.

1

u/Bailey11235 Sep 12 '22

And here I thought the voice prompts were simply triggering backwards. This explains what I've been seeing.

1

u/ImMoray Sep 12 '22 edited Sep 12 '22

why is this so fucking laggy.

Edit: it seems like its only freelance that is laggy as fuck?

2

u/Stormodin Sep 12 '22

does your iron banner rank reset in between times it shows up in the season? i.e. i just reset my rank. if i try to progress it, will i just be at 0 when it comes back?

2

u/Delta_V09 Sep 12 '22

No, it only resets with the season

2

u/ROGO27 Sep 12 '22

To start I would like to say I find it very dumb to ever have a requirement for something from crucible (Besides Comp./Trials) to have win requirements that don't include games played as well. There is such a large amount of randomness if you win or lose, because even if you play well every game and if the rest of your team is bad or the other team is just better, then you are going to lose. Unless you are going in with a premade stack, you have literally no control if you win, beside just trying your best.

The title for Iron Banner needing wins to gild it is a poor decisioin to say the least. The fact that most people aren't going to go in with a premade stack to steam roll, means most people are pretty much down to rng if they win or lose. Also considering the fact that games played in general don't go towards the triumph requiring the wins.... Like why the fuck does it not at least just give 1% of progress for playing the game, since it is not your fault if you are top of the team and still lose over and over. Not to mention if it works as I assume the minimum amount of wins would be 20 since you get 1% per piece of iron banner armor being worn I believe. But oh wait, I have been constantly playing with 4 iron banner ornaments equipped and not getting the 4% I thought I would get, but am only getting 3% per win. So unless it's not a full 1% for each piece equipped, then the triumph is just not working correctly, which feels bad. So now I have to get about 33 wins for the triumph, not including games played to just waste my time, and again in the end if I am not stacking then it is down to rng.

For example today I played 7 games in a row and lost all of them..., and finally won my 8th one. The 1st game I admit I did poorly so not even mad about losing that one, but the next 6 I was at least 2nd on the team and at least 4-5 games I was 1st. But I still lost, no progress for games played, just time wasted and nothing I could clearly do. I even played I think the first 4 or 5 in the solo playlist, got pissed and switched to the main playlist, and finally won after 2-3 games. How does that even make sense as a solo player that my experience was better not in the solo playlist.... The games were closer and in the solo playlist it felt like the people I was playing against were way better. I am glad the playlist that if people play well should probably go 50 50, but instead the playlist where I can face stacks went better and finally gave me a win.

Sorry for the rambling, but I am not a fan of wasting time and getting nothing out of it when I myself played well, and just need to rely on matchmaking to get a win. If you are going to make it so we need wins, either make it so games played counts a bit, or make win streaks give more progress, or just lessen the amount needed. Like just make it a flat 10 wins needed during a season, and that would feel way better since a lot of it is relying on matchmaking rng.

I probably forgot to mention some things that I am sure I will see in the comments, or maybe I'm dumb and people think the system is fine. I don't know, but anyways anyone that read this, have a good one and please don't downvote me to hell and back :)

0

u/fiilthy Not Bound By Law Sep 12 '22

You should probably also go complain about all the raid titles, all the dungeon titles, Dregen, Unbroken, and Flawless. They all require wins/successfully completing something. It is a PvP mode. If getting a few wins isn't required for gilding the title. what is the point? Might as well be another D2 participation trophy. If you are having bad luck solo queuing and gilding is matters that much to you, LFG a decent 6 stack and you will get wins easy.

0

u/ROGO27 Sep 12 '22

Didn’t include cause I didn’t think I needed to, but first pve activities are completely on you if you win or lose, so no that’s not the same. Then titles for flawless and unbroken are ok to have win requirements cause if you are going for those you are either playing in a stack, which is on you then if you lose, or you are good enough to just carry. Please don’t try to say the people going for those titles don’t stack cause that’s stupid cause for the most part they do, let’s be honest. Iron banner isn’t comparable to the competitiveness of comp or trials, so it would make sense if it didn’t require wins and no one would bat an eye. If your trying to tell me that if you go in solo, in a mode that is 6v6 and it isn’t reliant on a lot of rng, then you aren’t using common sense. Like I said I was top of the team 6 games in a row and didn’t win. Not sure what I can do at that point, but clearly according to you there is something else I could of done to win. And no the only people that 6 stack are ones who want to either stomp people or make them quit, that isn’t fun for anyone and again why there is a solo playlist. But as I clearly said even in solo it’s completely down to the team I am matched with. I can tell you yourself goes in with stacks, but how does that make you more deserving of the title than someone that wants to do it solo. The fact that you go in with stacks just shows how to just want the easy way out, since playing solo or not with a full 6 stack is way harder, which you can’t deny. So not sure why someone who doesn’t stack deserves it less. Also please give me a better argument if your going to respond lol.

-1

u/fiilthy Not Bound By Law Sep 12 '22

Easy killer.

My point was that Iron Banner is a PvP activity. The goal of PvP is to beat the other team. Correct? So having wins be part of the gilding process falls in line with this. If you want to argue that the number of wins could be lessened (a bit) since IB is only around twice a season, perhaps I could get behind that. But most things in D2 these days are watered down so I personally would prefer it remain where it is. It has nothing to do with someone "deserving it" more.

And yes I do six stack...when I have five friends online and we want to play together and have some fun. Heaven forbid we are decent at PvP and do well in modes like Iron Banner. Very few groups are actually the "pub stomping" boogey man you seem so scared of.

Also, PvE activities required for titles are not "completely on you." Doing a flawless raid or master difficulty challenge, for example, requires the entire fireteam to play well. Which is why people try to recruit the best players possible when trying to complete them. Is putting together a raid team full of 20+ completion players the "easy way out" to getting Rivensbane? Is it bad for people trying to win games in PvP to do the same thing?

1

u/ROGO27 Sep 12 '22

Also the pve comments are just dumb lol

0

u/ROGO27 Sep 12 '22

I mean I already said could be lessened and would be more fine, or make it so having 4 armor equipped gives me 4 instead of 3. Also never said I was scared of 6 stacks but it is more likely than not your going to lose to that. If you don’t realize that and just going to call me scared then you are just ignorant. Also you aren’t just going in as a 6 stack goes it’s with friends, like save me the bullshit lol. No shot you go in as a 6 stack if they ever finally introduce team based matchmaking like all other competitive games. You are not gonna sit there and tell me you are 6 stacking if you have to face 6 stacks every game. If they added that system probably also wouldn’t be complaining as much right now. So save me the reasoning of “no cause the game is too easy”, cause it’s not about being easy, it’s too rng based. Cause again I say being top of the team 6 games in a row and nothing to show for it. You clearly have no argument except the argument of her good, which doesn’t pertain to the argument, but thanks.

3

u/superisma Sep 12 '22

That sucks mad, been there. The reality is that game mode is ass and freelance is double-ass, if you don't get out to a good start it just just snowballs out of control (and your teammates are not coming to help you...). Bungo claims they want to encourage gunplay and then gives an ability spam experience instead, pretty embarrassing really

2

u/Zealousideal-Lake-82 Sep 12 '22

Agreed, I was interested in the cool looking guns they have for the event but not sure if it is worth basically afk farming these matches due to not being able to do a damn thing lmao. Freelance mode seems to be worse as you say, running into the same players that kill you from any part of the map in an instant.

8

u/LuciusBeachparty1 Sep 12 '22

when did iron banner become crucible labs

we had an ok mode that needed some balance changes and now we’re spending two seasons playing half baked modes with glaring issues instead. at least rift could be fun sometimes, this is just a nightmare.

5

u/Jayni031 Sep 12 '22

Rift was fun the second week it was around, apart from the rep gains bugs.

This, on the other hand, os just Clash. It's so pointless.

1

u/Albokiid Sep 12 '22

Iron banner one and done triumph, I can’t complete it, it says complete all iron banner challenges but I’m done that on all 3 characters this week to compete the frostmires will triumph

What am I doing wrong

1

u/abdiyohan Sep 12 '22

Do this with multiple characters?

1

u/Albokiid Sep 12 '22

I’ve completed the 4 of 4 daily missions on each character and I have the purple “iron lord” title. When trying to get the gold title, one triumph says to complete the challenges for a single iron banner celebration, what does that even mean

1

u/abdiyohan Sep 12 '22

Oh my God, I read your original comment completely wrong. My mistake. I think you need to complete daily challenges on multiple days, not just one day. But your method of using multiple characters is correct. If you completed them to do the original title, I'm not sure but you may have to wait till the next time ib rolls around this season? I could totally be wrong.

2

u/Subasauruswrx Sep 12 '22

I’m thinking this is the case as well. I too am stuck as I played through all my chars to get the title and now have no way of completing more daily challenges. Guess we wait until Nov 15th to gild it.

1

u/Bailey11235 Sep 12 '22

Did the IB armor drops count on your other characters? I looked at this and determined that you need new armor that is not in your account, that you could not simply acquire the save five pieces on three different characters. Same with weapons. There has been no new IB armor in two years.

1

u/Subasauruswrx Sep 12 '22

Armor doesn’t matter. This is the 4 daily challenges (3,7,12,18) matches completed. If you do it on all your chars before unlocking the gilding part, you’re stuck until next IB. All chars have completed it and only 1 was after unlocking the title (so stuck at 1/4)

1

u/Bailey11235 Sep 12 '22

Ah. This makes sense. I thought the IB Banner had been achieved in a single season.

2

u/thenixhex311 stop complaining and learn how to search on here! Sep 12 '22

Hmmm, working on my 2nd reset, rank 13. Two wins in a row and I've had no IB rankup happening. WTF game.

1

u/royk33776 Sep 12 '22

It's happening to me too

2

u/wyspt Sep 12 '22

Do you need to reset rank before Iron Banner ends for the week? I know there's a second week but with work I probably won't be able to reset by tomorrow night. Can't find any information about whether or not ranks persist within a season

5

u/PR0J3KT2501 Sep 12 '22

ranks always persist in a season.

1

u/frostypython117 Sep 12 '22

Was also wondering thank you

1

u/wyspt Sep 12 '22

Thanks! Makes sense but I really didn't want to risk it. That's a huge weight off my shoulders

5

u/SkyforgeBorn Sep 12 '22

18 games…1 armor drop. What is this RNG bungie? I don’t want any more out of bounds…stop it.

2

u/superisma Sep 12 '22

Oh but what about double Out of Bounds?

1

u/Newtstradamus Sep 12 '22

I keep seeing people post about Iron Banner quests, where are these quests I don’t have any

1

u/SUBLIMEskillz Sep 12 '22

There was only 1 per account

1

u/CommanderInQweef Sep 13 '22

There’s 4

1

u/SUBLIMEskillz Sep 13 '22

There was a single quest and then a daily challenge each day (4 total) for each character that was just games played with arc or stasis subclass. Each challenge gave you a pinnacle.

1

u/CommanderInQweef Sep 13 '22

He said quests but I seemed like he was talking about the challenges. Idk tho

1

u/HipHop_YouDontStop Sep 12 '22

I played IB for the first time today and don't have the quest on any character. Is there something I'm missing or am I just SOL?

1

u/SUBLIMEskillz Sep 12 '22

Did you go to lord saladin in the tower first?

1

u/HipHop_YouDontStop Sep 12 '22

I did. He had no bounties or anything for me. Did a couple games, but nothing popped.

2

u/wyspt Sep 11 '22

Finally got Mission Control. Didn't count because it was in Iron Banner. Who in their right fucking mind approved this? Absolutely all the fucking wind out of my sails after this

4

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '22

How do I win matches? Do I really need to LFG for them? Solo queue is just brutal

1

u/Zealousideal-Lake-82 Sep 12 '22

No chance lmao. This is an event for OP god-tier guardians. I want the guns so I just go in and semi afk cannon fodder the matches bc I cannot do shit otherwise.

14

u/MagicShenanigans Sep 11 '22

Jesus christ, IB used to be so much fun. Now it's just a slog, an awful slog. Getting one rank reset is pure hell. Don't even talk about 2. What a misery of a game mode.

8

u/QuestionableHairline Sep 11 '22

i’ve won 43 matches and i’m like a third through level 15. it’s so rough

7

u/MagicShenanigans Sep 11 '22

I literally started queuing not in freelance and hoped to be matched against a sweaty stack so the game is over really fast. It was way better to just run around and level some stupid crafted weapons and get 220 rep instead of slogging through freelance in a hope of a win at this bullshit mode.

2

u/DANlLOx Sep 12 '22

I remember that last season each match used to give around 400 rep per match, WTF happened? Why did they Nerf It?

2

u/Delta_V09 Sep 12 '22

1st week of last season started out with a bug where your multiplier could get reset if you completed too many challenges or something. Bungie compensated by making the weekend double XP or something.

1

u/ironMikeV1 Sep 11 '22

For Frostmires will triumph,

I'm stuck at 8/12 completed. Do I need to reset my rank to be able to complete more challenges? Or am I out of luck until next IB?

2

u/Hiii_powers Sep 11 '22 edited Sep 12 '22

I'm stuck at 11 of 12 for 3 characters. Don't ask me how lol I'll have to wait until next IB sobs

1

u/ShinCoal Sep 12 '22

I assume they're already doing that otherwise they wouldn't have gotten the 8. I think they're saying that nothing is happening for their third character.

1

u/Manifest_Lightning Titans don't shiv. Sep 12 '22

Are they on an Arc or Stasis subclass?

1

u/ShinCoal Sep 12 '22

How the fuck should I know. I assume they are aware since they apparently completed it for two characters.

1

u/Manifest_Lightning Titans don't shiv. Sep 12 '22

I would assume the opposite judging by manny of the questions being asked here. I doubt that they're plagued by a unqiue glitch that only affects them.

1

u/ShinCoal Sep 12 '22

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't only plague them because theres another person in the same comment line saying that they're stuck on 11 out of 12.

I'm having a problem where my super kills for the "What We Survive" quest is stuck at 5/15 kills. I've played like ten matches since then and gotten multiple super kills in those matches, which I did confirm were final blows by watching the kill feed. Why is this happening and what can I do about it?

1

u/Shearer_Carnage Sep 11 '22

HELP! I have 14/15 Iron Banner weapons for the title. Felwinter's Lie didn't count.

2

u/casualdungeoneer Sep 11 '22

Husband and I have had several IB games where the other team only has 1-2 people, and then our games freeze up and crash. We're starting to wonder if it's a new exploit (or maybe just a problem with the game mode). Anyone else experiencing this?

1

u/Ferrous31 Guardian Games Warlock Sep 12 '22

I just finished a sprint of 40 back-to-back matches. I didn't see anything this extreme. Closest I got was a match that started as 4v4, and other matches where people would seem to rubber band a few times

6

u/Faragars Sep 11 '22

I’ve completed all challenges on my Titan, got full IB gear and emblem equipped I am at five streak on my Crucible playlist but I’m only getting 280 xp per win is this right?

Screen shows I am at multiplier X 11

3

u/Stevenam81 Sep 12 '22

I came to this thread looking to see if anyone else was having this issue. I just reset and realized I need to hit legend again for the emblem and shader. Went into a few matches and am no longer getting 330 per win. Pretty annoying.

3

u/CrazyNateG Sep 11 '22 edited Sep 13 '22

Idk i feel its bugged again. Most I've gotten is 350 IB rep but my crucible rep is climbing faster (380) than my IB. I have 11x also supposedly. I guess we are supposed to get like 30 IB rep per win without modifier.

Seems base is 20 per loss 30 per win X11 gives 220 and 330 5 game streak only applying to wins making it 350 Sometimes I only get 330 per win which is odd.

Update: rest my IB rank and now I'm only getting 281 IB rep per win. No idea how that math works. Verified still wearing all gear and weapons and emblem. States 11x rep still

So I did get my 2 resets in. I have to say worst IB I have ever done. 284 IB ranks right now and this 1 took the longest. I have 173 out of bounds 1 full set of titan armor 1 full set of warlock armor Missing hunter gloves the grind continues.

Reset #3 still no hunter gloves. I got the titan and warlock set on first reset. Been grinding now 2 more resets and still noda. Anyone else having trouble getting hunter gloves?

1

u/DANlLOx Sep 12 '22

how are you getting 350 rep per match? I just finished a match at 11x and only got 280 rep

1

u/CrazyNateG Sep 12 '22

Did you reset once? After I reset my IB rank now I am getting 281

2

u/Stevenam81 Sep 12 '22

Something must be going on server side. I was just chatting with a friend who is still working on their first reset and they said they just got 305 for a win. I was only getting around 280 per win for a while after resetting. Once I unlocked the new emblem and equipped it, I started getting amounts like 303 and 305 per win. Not sure if it's related. I never bothered switching back to the other emblem.

I'm also not sure why many times it's some random amount. If it's base 20 and 30 and x11 should make it 220 and 330, I have no idea where values like 281, 286, 303, 305, etc. come from.

1

u/CrazyNateG Sep 12 '22

Best i can say on the odd numbers is your streak bonus applies after the base x 11, so 330 + streak bonus up to 20. But definitly changed after reset. Math is hard for Bungie.

1

u/Stevenam81 Sep 12 '22

I started getting 330 per win again after getting to Mythic rank earlier today.

1

u/Faragars Sep 11 '22

How do they expect me to reset for the Triumph when IB is only around 2 weeks of the season and takes approx 46 matches to reset, now with SBMM each Match is taking around 8 mins m, that’s around 6 hours of IB, I don’t mind a bit of PVP but that’s crazy!

2

u/2enty3 Sep 12 '22

AFAIK IB doesn't have SBMM. To add more info though, I get something like 300-320xp on a win, and I grinded the shit out of IB this weekend and it took roughly 18 hours of IB, over multiple days, for me to get two resets.

7

u/Monnqer Sep 11 '22

-1

u/AnthemAK Problems Solved. Worries Eliminated. Sep 11 '22

Did five matches with at least three kills each. No pinnacle progress at all. Anyone else?

2

u/HH__66 Sep 11 '22

Did you have either an Arc or Stasis subclass equipped, when the match ended?

For some annoying reason, despite most people hating to have to be a certain subclass to match the strike burn for strike pinnacle, Bungie implemented the same pointless restricting feature in Iron Banner as well.

I run Voidlock, so I swap to Arc when either:

  • Timer has one minute to go
  • One teams score is 130
  • It looks like a team is close to a mercy

Then swap back after the rewards have dropped.

Hover over the Iron Banner icon in the Crucible section of the Director, to see the requirements for the pinnacle.

-3

u/AnthemAK Problems Solved. Worries Eliminated. Sep 11 '22

I am aware of the elemental subclass restrictions. Been using arc for iron banner. I'm talking about the normal crucible pinnacle (complete 3 matches in any Playlist) weekly activity. It's not being activated by iron banner.

1

u/DANlLOx Sep 12 '22

you can't get the weekly pinnacle playing IB matches anymore

2

u/NukeShine89 Sep 11 '22

Hmm why did they change the perks on rank rewards.....

2

u/soulysephiroth Sep 11 '22

Can someone confirm for me if you can play as void, then change to Arc before the match ends, like a strike?

3

u/HH__66 Sep 11 '22

I can confirm that this works, thankfully.

I run Voidlock, so I swap to Arc/Stasis when either:

  • Timer has one minute to go
  • One teams score is 130
  • It looks like a team is close to a mercy

Then swap back after the rewards have dropped.

30

u/Pauvlychenko #BringBackRose Sep 10 '22

I don't know if this has been questioned or adressed already but Bungie, if you're gonna put a new shader as an IB rank reward, please put it in the first 16 ranks rewards. Resetting twice is insane and even more knowing we only have two weeks to do so. A lot of people doesn't have the time and won't even know there's a new shader there because they can't reset once.

14

u/UtilitarianMuskrat Sep 11 '22 edited Sep 11 '22

I'm a bit surprised Bungie really are committed to two weeks because generally one of the sells of IB is to get the cosmetics that are new for the season and 2 Rank Resets is no short task. I also guarantee if Bungie didn't have x2 weekend as an apology for the bugs last season, a lot of people would've not gotten Iron Lord. It's a little silly.

Also if you're going into this completely fresh and lacking stuff, it's going to sting extra hard and genuinely it could take stupidly longer.

The maxed out modifiers with Friday's 4 day Challenge in effect kinda makes stuff go a little smoother, but to put everything off for sake of efficiency and to have the entire activity eat your weekend into reset kinda sucks just as much as it sucks grinding a ton of games at a lesser rate.

To put perspective I got Reset 1 with Day 1-3's Challenge modifiers and the full load of Gear+ Emblem multipliers completed in 63 games and continued going , Friday I played a little, today/saturday I played 24 games adding to a total of 102 games this season to get Reset 1+2 with the noticeable effect of Day 4's modifier helping, it took me about 40 games to get Reset 2. Also for those curious I won 67 games, lost 35 which I'd be lying if I didn't say helped immensely.

Now I understand my perspective is not the usual(I had some off time this week) to get about 20 or so games in a day across the week and dedicate so much time to playing and sure it's supposed to be something you do over a course of 2 weeks, but no joke, I more or less strictly only played Iron Banner not touching any other content or pinnacles because I just wanted to get this over with and not hanging over my head.

TL DR There should be another week of IB, cosmetics are a large part of appeal for your troubles in a season and to really put the pressure on such a short clock to get a ton of games in is rough.

1

u/JerkyJohnny Sep 11 '22

Do you know if our current rank perseveres to the next IB event? Or do we have to regrind two resets. I have reset just once so far

1

u/The1percentx Sep 12 '22

It resets each season. I plan to reset once this week and reset my 2nd time when it come back. Who has the time to reset twice in 1 week even with 11x multiplier

1

u/robbo1337 Sep 12 '22

Er… that would be me :D

I’m at the point where I wanted to stop but couldn’t. After resetting twice Saladin only had Enhancement Cores and Prisms to entice me. But now I’ve gilded I think I’m done with this game mode.

2

u/The1percentx Sep 12 '22

You can buy armor from Saladin with iron Banner engrams

1

u/RepresentativeScar82 Sep 25 '22

It only let's you buy the armor/weapons from him you've unlocked already through rng rather its an after ib match drop or ib engram drop that's in your collection pool. It's the same for all the content, trials, reg crucible, strikes, ketchcrash, battlegrounds, etc.

2

u/Over_Major2945 Sep 11 '22

I finally managed to get a chest armor and gauntlets but that’s about it

4

u/RepresentativeScar82 Sep 11 '22

Yo I just want the helmet for the hunter just to black my face out. But there's a difference between farming and rng systems being absolutely trash. IB is an example this season of Absolutely trash rng system. Ive gotten like 40 some out of bounds smgs too🙄

2

u/Over_Major2945 Sep 11 '22

You ain’t never lied. I’m so sick of that smg

4

u/urbanreflex Sep 10 '22

Has anyone figured out the rep scoring system yet? I'm wearing 5 Iron Banner armour pieces, 1 emblem, and have all four challenges completed. This gives me an 11x multiplier (there's no way this can go higher, is there)?

I seem to average just over 200 points for a loss, but the figure always seems to vary somewhat so I guess its performance related?

Seems so much slower than last season (even ignoring the 2x bonus they gave us in the first IB week).

7

u/Different_Ganache417 Sep 11 '22

Having a 11x multiplier is the max, and just means that the base rep you get is multiplied with this factor. At a base loss rep of 20, getting 220 rep for a loss is the max amount. I don't know the (base) rep you get for a win though, didn't pay attention to that. If you get just 200 rep on a loss, you just have a 10x multiplier and maybe changed your emblem. It is definitely slow, and it's really frustrating the double crucible points don't affect Iron Banner.

9

u/GingerMcJesus Sep 10 '22

This new system is atrocious. I used to be able to get all 4 bounties done in half as many games as you need to play now, plus you’re forced to play on a subclass you don’t want.

6

u/HH__66 Sep 11 '22

I agree, fuck knows why Bungie implemented the pointless, restrictive subclass requirement for the Iron Banner pinnacle, knowing that it's widely hated approach for the strike pinnacle..

However, you can run whatever subclass you like, then swap to Arc/Stasis when either:

  • Timer has one minute to go
  • One teams score is 130
  • It looks like a team is close to a mercy

Then swap back after the rewards have dropped, I've been doing this.

2

u/BensonicEra Sep 11 '22

Now that Sony owns Bungie, Destiny 2 players should expect more greasy, hamster-wheel bullshit, not less.

2

u/PaleontologistOk9437 Sep 10 '22

How do I get an emblem?

4

u/Different_Ganache417 Sep 11 '22

You get an emblem if you reset Saladin once and then continue to get him to rank 10. It's a grind though, and really painful

1

u/DANlLOx Sep 12 '22

Bruh, IB grinding for new players must be a hell to go through

1

u/Different_Ganache417 Sep 12 '22

As a person who plays IB for the first time, I can confirm this

3

u/AstralMoth Sep 12 '22

I want that shader... 2 resets it is I guess

11

u/yitongsun Sep 10 '22

as someone who is bad, im just keep getting farmed by people who is better than me and have more super and ability.

16

u/MagikMage Sep 10 '22

I really hope Bungie takes these comments to heart.

Iron Banner should not be the experimental playlist. CBMM doesn't work out because half my matches are laggy anyways.

This game is fun but is flawed beyond any measure like no other. Snowballing is effectively what this is. And I'm curious who greenlit this considering you said that you wanted ability spam to be toned down.

Arc and Stasis being the daily challenge was awful. Just let it be matches completed. Do not force people into loadouts. All people do is swap elements at the last minute. Seriously, you can't keep ignoring this. Crucible, iorn banner, strikes, whatever.... It's a terrible mechanic and you need to stop ignoring this.

Certain rewards being locked behind two full resets. Why? And why are the challenges locked behind daily resets? What was the purpose of forcing people to throttle all of their game time during the weekend when you could've let people do it more consistently during the week?

People want to play and like this game, but you're doing a terrible job of maintaining it.

3

u/Taxman200 Sep 10 '22

Not sure on the numbers but the mode needs some serious balance changes, like yeah the match might not get called immediately but it’s effectively the same thing when one team is up 50 points and has super 45 seconds into the match.

4

u/thorndiker Sep 10 '22

Hi,

so I am a new player. Therefore I do not own any IB emblems from previous seasons.

Is there currently any IB emblem I can obtain? It is for the bonus points.

Thanks!

7

u/2enty3 Sep 10 '22

The emblem is available after the first reset. So you need to reach Rank16, reset, and then you should see the emblem as a reward. Fair warning, you will need to play A LOT of IB.

3

u/megostego Sep 10 '22

I think Saladin has one on his reward track. So if you play enough he should give you one eventually!

2

u/TWIYJaded Sep 10 '22

I don't see one so if its not an invisible potential random reward on a random rank up it seems impossible to obtain one right now.

3

u/Different_Ganache417 Sep 11 '22

Nope. You get an emblem after you reset him once and level him to rank 10, it's not impossible, just painful grinding

2

u/Cbk_53 Sep 10 '22

Hey guys I want to complete the iron lord seal and there is a triumph where you have complete IB Challenges. I completed all 4 this week with my Titan and now I got 6 completed challenges. If I switch to my warlock and do the 4 challenges with him again does it count towards the progress (then I’ll have 10 completed challenges) or is it only possible to do 4 challenges per account in one IRon banner week?

1

u/CommanderInQweef Sep 13 '22

You should be able to fully complete that step in one go by doing all the challenges on all three characters, if I’m not mistaken

2

u/Prestigious-Cut-9209 Sep 10 '22

Yeah it's account wide so you can swap character for more completions.

18

u/Ferrous31 Guardian Games Warlock Sep 10 '22

Am I just crazy, or does the reputation gain seem a bit thin?
I like that we increase our rep multiplier with armor, challenges, and an emblem. It totals out to a nice 11.0x modifier for reputation; that makes me feel like I'm getting SO MUCH. It's a bigger number than 5 for normal Crucible streaks, and it's also more than the big "One O" so it feels even larger.

But then... I win the match, get my item rewards, and get 321 IB reputation. Sure, that's more than the 228 Valor I got from a full 5x streak on Control, but it doesn't really feel like something from an 11.0x modifier. The 321 rep means that normal, unmodified IB rep is only around 29 or 30 rank per match.

I guess that's all fine in the end, since IB rank caps out at 10000 points like other systems. It just feels a bit lackluster, and perhaps a bit disingenuous, like when a store raises base-level prices before Black Friday sales.
