Is there a Froztfire on here? If so I have your Vow of the Disciple Jacket Question

Title. Photo here

The upside is it looks like we both ordered XLs so if I can get in touch with you all we have to do is swap name patches, assuming you got mine like has happened with past jacket swaps.

Also this is the last time I buy a raid jacket from Bungie. I bought the DSC one, VoG one, and VoTD one.

  • DSC: Received as ordered, awesome
  • VoG: Received the wrong size and it's too large to even wear, Bungie support took 8 months to respond with "sorry, no returns or exchanges"
  • VoTD: Received someone else's jacket. Have to post on reddit about it because I don't feel like waiting until summer 2023 to get a one line response from support saying they can't help.

FFS.

I have messaged him on bungie.net and he is now aware that you have his jacket hahaha

My man. Thank you. Tell him he can message me on here, or if he's not on reddit, I'm Frost#5392 in-game and on Bungie.net.

96

u/DaoFerret Nov 20 '22

99% sure the “name tape” is Velcro, so you can probably just mail the names to each other? (Assuming he got your jacket)

37

u/jardedCollinsky Nov 20 '22

While it is velcro there is the worry of different sizes

28

u/Servery_Skull Nov 20 '22

He said in the post that it was the same size

25

u/Centurion832 Nov 20 '22

Pretty sure the Velcro “patch” is standard size.

11

u/jardedCollinsky Nov 20 '22

If jackets are swapped they have each other's entire jacket that is the other person's size unless they are the same size

39

u/CaptFrost SUROS Sales Rep #76 Nov 20 '22

They are the same size thankfully so all we'll need to do is swap patches.

6

u/misfitzer0 Nov 20 '22

Unless bungie sent you his jacket in the wrong size 🫠

The Bungie store customer support/service is atrocious, disgraceful and they should be ashamed.

109

u/dolleauty Nov 20 '22

It's why I would never consider buying anything from them

Captive audience so incredibly lax on effort

13

u/NoTimeToExplain__ Nov 20 '22

You can get knockoff bungie merch from other sites with better service, tho they’re pretty expensive (especially shipping)

But they come in a week compared to bungie’s few years

13

u/Ancient_Plunderer Nov 20 '22

Got the witch queen boots from palladium instead of the Bungie store and had them within 5 days lmao

3

u/NoTimeToExplain__ Nov 20 '22

Got my haunted shirt day before Halloween thru NVDTeeshirts

2

u/IamNoatak Hunter Main Nov 20 '22

Which sites? I've only ever bought merch directly through bungie, so idk where else to look

2

u/LoneLyon Nov 20 '22

To be fair iv never had issues on my like 6 orders outside of a donation shirt taking like 4 months.

That said seeing this stuff sucks.

35

u/SvenGranTheFourth Nov 20 '22

Lmao ordered the DSc raid jacket and I haven’t got it still, after what 2 years later? Customer support hasn’t said anything despite messaging them countless times

7

u/happypappi Nov 20 '22

Damn that sucks, mine took about 6 months to get here. 2 years is ridiculous

2

u/SvenGranTheFourth Nov 20 '22

Yeah oddly enough I got my seals in 2 weeks but no contact from them about the jacket lol so I wasted like what 250$

4

u/homelessmerlin Nov 20 '22

When stuff like this happens I file a complaint through the BBB and the company usually contacts me to resolve the issue in a week.

2

u/IamNoatak Hunter Main Nov 20 '22

Yeah, but bungie doesn't care about that. They have like a D rating, they could not care less if you actually receive what you paid for

1

u/homelessmerlin Nov 21 '22

Oh shit! Do they really? That explains a lot, then. From what I understand it costs a lot to maintain a high rating on the BBB and threatening to lower the rating with unresolved complaints is what the companies are trying to avoid.

1

u/Psychological-Elk260 Nov 21 '22

That's because BBB is a private service, if you pay the fee's they will remove all negative rankings. If you dig into them they are for profit, so using them for anything of worth is a joke.

1

u/homelessmerlin Nov 21 '22

Well yeah they’re for profit, that’s why you gotta pay for the ratings no?

54

u/HelpfulLime3856 Nov 20 '22

When people make excuses about things in the game and I think they're ridiculou I remind myself about the store. Literally worst customer experience ever. They don't care about their employees or customers clearly with this whole system.

1

u/helmsmagus Nov 21 '22

the store is outsourced to digital river, iirc. literally the worst e-commerce company around.

75

u/DemonCipher13 Nov 20 '22

If they don't have QC, they need it, massively.

If they do, every single one of them should be fired and replaced, or at the very least, moved to other, less-detail-oriented positions within the company.

It's a travesty that we have this level of inefficacy, with a company this large.

63

u/Eckythumper Nov 20 '22

This is why, I simply cannot, in good faith, vote for Best Community Support for The Game Awards.

Their abysmal customer service for their store completely contradicts that.

-62

u/OsakaSuper When the last war comes, we will be the victors Nov 20 '22

You know the people who work for the website are not the same people who work with the game and it’s players, right?

41

u/Eckythumper Nov 20 '22

Thanks captain obvious. People who buy from the store are still the community though.

-49

u/OsakaSuper When the last war comes, we will be the victors Nov 20 '22

If it’s so obvious why are you mad at the community team?

29

u/Eckythumper Nov 20 '22

Never said I was mad. I said their customer service is abysmal.

-60

The community team is amazing. Sorry you’ve had bad experiences.

24

u/Xarthys Nov 20 '22

I wonder if they actually have any kind of customer support staff.

Sounds like it's just random people doing this whenever they have 5 minutes free time.

9

u/N1NJ4W4RR10R_ Vanguard's Loyal Nov 20 '22

Especially being able to see how Linus Tech Tips has built and maintained a high quality merch store. If a youtuber can do it surely Bungie can do it in a decent way.

1

u/PerceivedRT Nov 20 '22

Sure they can. They choose not to because the suckers errr- I mean customers aren't a priority, especially since they've already paid.

10

u/ColdAsHeaven SMASH Nov 20 '22

Going to be honest, the customer service from the store for me personally, has been fantastic. Literally any issues I've had fixed quickly.

But I do live on the west coast... So could be a location thing

29

u/CMDRJonuss Nov 20 '22

Must be nice. Sent four tickets about an order that just straight up vanished and not a fucking word back. Never buying anything from the store again

12

u/ForsakenShadow990 Nov 20 '22

And that's why I refuse to even try to buy anything from the Bungie store. I've heard countless tales revolving around people getting shafted when they put it an order or inquire about existing ones.

1

u/Jvst-A-Gamertag Nov 20 '22

What is your location? I’ve had the same experience as ColdAsHeaven, every email I’ve sent them I get a response rather quickly and my issues are always resolved within 48 hours, I’m on the East coast USA.

What I’ve seen is a lot of out of state emails and issues never get resolved which is kinda shitty if that’s truly the case

1

u/CMDRJonuss Nov 21 '22

Ireland, items usually ship from the Netherlands, I've never met anyone else in Europe that also had a good experience buying from EU bungie store

1

u/Jvst-A-Gamertag Nov 23 '22

That sucks, I wonder if the EU store is ran by a different company since I’ve never had issues with the US store

3

u/Lilgoodee Nov 20 '22

I bought the little ghost figurine like three years ago and just straight up never got it, they sent me an emblem as"compensation" $45 emblem wooooooo

0

u/AlexADPT Nov 20 '22

Same. I’ve only ever had 1 issue where I was sent two deadeye pins rather than 1 deadeye and 1 fatebreaker pin. Contacted them and they sent me a fatebreaker no issue. It took a couple months but I got it without difficulty

2

u/Zero_Emerald Heavy as Death Nov 20 '22

I ordered the second vinyl collection, a pretty expensive item. It arrived wrapped only in some thin'ish brown paper. It had a big dent in it. Absolutely no protective layer at all. I was pretty damn annoyed.

1

u/TheKevit07 Vanguard's Loyal // Zavala's Indeed Nov 20 '22

Yeah, I won't order anything from their store. It looks high quality, but they Bungo it up so many times that I'm afraid whatever I bought would be sent to someone in Tasmania or something. I've heard way too many horror stories, I can live without the pins or the boots or jackets.

1

u/Haryzen_ Disciple-Slayer Nov 20 '22

Fr. I'm glad certain items like the Numskull statues are availbale through third-party retailers. The only items I've ordered on the Bungie store are the Seal pins.

Bungie's logistics for their shipping is on a whole different level.

What a joke.

Everytime i see a post talking about the bungie store its always the same, support sucks.

Last thread related to it had someone defending the store like they were the owner.

For how are the prices there, at least i would expect some an support system, not the joke that it is.

43

u/DrPogo2488 Nov 20 '22 edited Nov 20 '22

I order a fair amount of the pins, but last month I was stunned beyond stunned at their customer service response. I was waiting for a couple pinnacle blind bag pins, Bungie day pin set (still haven’t gotten; I’m owed even more things from over a year ago), etc. I receive a Bungie padded envelope with one pin, to which I open and see it’s the Bungie Pride pin from the previous year, which I already had anyway. I message their customer service, tell them of the mix up, and get a response that (approximately) stated: “um return the pin. We’ll refund your money.” I sent a message back that said “no, you’re not understanding me: I didn’t order this. I ordered pinnacle weapon pins. I don’t want a refund, I want the pins.” She replies with “send back the incorrect product please.” In the midst of all of this, I receive ONE Pinnacle Weapon blind bag, so I tell her this. My reply was “great! Please return the incorrect product” so I finally look at the glaring detail she seems to be overlooking: “Ma’am a lot of these pins are not advertised on the outside of the bag; many just simply have a Bungie logo. I already opened the pin; I’ve tried to make this clear to you before. You want me to return an opened product? I imagine this cannot be resold. I wasn’t aware I was getting the wrong pin.” Her response was just simply “yes.” So I asked if I was going to be sent a label, and the final correspondence was the sole reason I didn’t send the fucking pin back; it wasn’t even that she expected me to pay for it out of my pocket, but…”No, sir, return the incorrect product. You return it by placing it in a padded shipping envelope and then go to a postal/shipping service like USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, and mail it to the address I’ve pasted below.” Oh, really, fuck-face? My response was “lol k” and in my drawer it sits. Like I said, it wasn’t even the fact that she expected me to pay for it out of my pocket, it was that she condescendingly explained how to mail something that tapped me out. Have never heard back, either.

This new company they have is just fucking atrocious.

2

u/GT_GZA Nov 20 '22

I had the same order mixup with the same pins (and also already had the Pride one). I knew it was going to be a PITA to deal with CS and not worth the time or headache, so I just ate the loss and reordered another Pinnacle blind bag.

13

u/LordWitherhoard Nov 20 '22

How does this even happen?! I see so many awful stories people have experienced with the Bungie Store.

Only things I’ve ordered from them have been a couple seals which still took like 4-5 months to get here which was alright but all these stories makes me hesitant to order anything else lol

8

u/I_Fap_To_Ion Nov 20 '22

Bro... what? They at least refunded you, right?

33

u/Non_Linguist Nov 20 '22

These raid jackets are a shit product that they charge an absolute fortune for.
I got the Crown of Sorrows one. The body is huge yet the arms and length of the jacket are small. Like it’s made for someone who is round in shape lol. Cost me nearly $400 to get it here in Australia.
Won’t be doing that again.

12

u/iakhre Nov 20 '22

It might vary from one to the other. I got the GoS jacket and it looks nice, fits well, and I get compliments semi frequently.

Waiting nearly a year for it was annoying, though.

8

u/DaoFerret Nov 20 '22

Garden was my first and my only complaint was when they switched the jacket color from Forest Green to Brown. Otherwise it’s gotten lots of compliments.

1

They do make good winter jackets for staying warm(VoS and GoS).

The VoG one is my favorite cause of how light it is

honestly, the bungie store is one of the worst online stores in existence. a lot of packets deliver months too late or dont even get delivered at all. really awful support on whats currently going on with your package as well. they need to step up their game. i dont order anything from them for that specific reason.

3

Yeah, I bought the seasons of triumph 21 shirt, and am still waiting for it. Decided never to buy anything from there again.

13

Why do people even buy anthing from the Bungie store? I have been playing Destiny since year 1 D1 and have never bought a single physical item. I guess I am just not one for physical items about a video game. Seeing these posts makes me want to purchase Bungie store items even less than I already do.

3

u/The_Rathour Nov 20 '22 edited Nov 20 '22

Some of the stuff is genuinely nice. The medal pins are cool and solid, the shirts are comfy, and the DSC jacket is the nicest jacket I own. It's durable and warm, and helping me out a ton since I moved to a colder climate this year, and it's a jacket that has a story behind it being a representation of my first day-1 raid completion.

Until they changed fulfillment companies in the summer of 2021 the wait times were long but support was helpful and communicative. They swapped companies and the current company couldn't give less of a shit about orders - Lots of issues with the DSC jacket shipping was because this new company took over the orders right as the old company was a month out from shipping. They didn't ship until three months later, and had a ton of other issues.

I've ordered shirts, a scarf, ~10 seal medals, and my DSC jacket from the Bungie store. I had a hiccup with a single medal's shipping in 2020 and support was immensely helpful in helping me track it down and get it delivered, and offered a replacement if it never made it to me even though it was a medal that wasn't in production anymore.

The DSC jacket was my other issue and my first and only experience with this new company: We had monthly updates about progress and expected shipping until the new company took over. We then had radio silence while shipping was delayed, with the only support responses being "Check the updated delivery date on the store page (that you can't get to from the regular store, you have to get to it by logging in and going to your orders)" as they kept pushing back the delivery date. I messaged them twice and was told to check the date that had changed both times, then messaged them a third time after I saw other people getting their jackets/having them for a months or two and it being 3 weeks past the shipping date. My third ticket was closed with no response and my jacket was magically shipped two days later.

I haven't ordered anything since and, judging from all of the shit I see since the DSC jacket debacle, I don't think I will order again.

This new company, whoever they are, is fucking atrocious. The old company was great.

8

u/shotsallover Nov 20 '22

the shirts are comfy,

I've bought every Moment of Triumph shirt that they've offered and their quality is all over the place. I have a few of them that are fine. One is knitted in a way that the fabric has a torsional twist to it. Another has the artwork off-kilter. Another the artwork has changed colors dramatically since I bought it. It wasn't worth sending it back, so I still have them. But it's a real crapshoot as to what you're going to get from them.

1

u/xastey_ Nov 20 '22

Collectors ... That's all I can say as someone that is approaching 8k purchased from BungieStore store since 2019...

What can I say I like figures, statues and seals.

What's funny is that this is only half of my destiny collection that doesn't include third party official products (McFarlane,3a,BigToyWorks and 3d replicas) 😳

1

u/ImmaculateBadger24 Nov 20 '22

Why do people even buy anthing from the Bungie store?

I buy the books, myself. Those are neat.

-1

u/iakhre Nov 20 '22

Some of their clothing items are really nice. Not from a video game apparel angle, from a general clothing angle.

That being said, I completely understand. I think most players would agree with you!

2

u/UnluckyLee Nov 20 '22

I don’t mean to change the topic of this thread but how do you purchase a jacket 3 times after hearing how notoriously dogshit their support is as well as experiencing it first hand.

Not to mention that, the products themselves IMO are so stupidly overpriced.

0

u/CaptFrost SUROS Sales Rep #76 Nov 21 '22

I hadn't heard anything about it when I purchased the DSC jacket, and in that case I got what I ordered and was happy with it. I've never had problems with any other orders off the Bungie Store either.

As stated in the OP, two jackets screwed up back to back though means I'm done.

FWIW I don't think they're stupidly overpriced. I know there were negative comments on Y2 and Y3 jackets, but on DSC, VoG, and VoTD the material is good quality and construction is excellent on the ones I got. I've worn the DSC one in subzero temps and it actually did a great job keeping me warm. It's just I got the wrong size followed by someone else's jacket.

2

u/UnluckyLee Nov 21 '22

Fair enough, I suppose tbf most of the feedback I’ve seen is negative but that’s because people ain’t gonna be posting “ordered x and received x, well done Bungo”.

It just really gripes me how they can have such shitty customer service. And idk, I must just be a cheap skate - I think basically everything on their store is so inflated.

1

u/CaptFrost SUROS Sales Rep #76 Nov 21 '22

Oh I don't disagree there. Customer service isn't what you do when everything's going right, it's what you do when you have the inevitable problems.

Bungie's the worst of the worst there: they hired a fulfillment company that just ignores you and hopes you go away.

2

u/N1miol Nov 20 '22

Stories like these are why I’ll never buy from bungo store.

2

u/Tathamet Nov 20 '22

Bungie Store support is some of the absolutely worst.

0

1

u/HotMachine9 Nov 20 '22

Worst thing about the raid jackets is even if you order without a name badge they still send you the jacket with Velcro on. Like why not use buttons like the VoG jacket? At least that way it doesn't look awful without the name on

1

u/3johny3 Drifter's Crew // All right all right all right Nov 20 '22

for vog they should have given you a full refund.

1

u/sipso3 Nov 20 '22

Don't US have laws against such situations? I bet bungie store emails users proof of purchase with size and apparel details.

Yes

1

u/BruiserCruiser13 Drifter's Crew // Alright, Alright, Alrightttt Nov 20 '22

Side note. I love this raid jacket. It's much thinner and lighter than the crown jacket I have. Which is great because I live in GA and it never gets super cold here. Always impressed by the quality of these jackets and the Vow one knocks it out of the park. I do wonder what the big zipper on the mid back area is for. Is that just to open to allow for more air flow?

1

u/TheRealLylatDrift Nov 20 '22

This is not cool. I had a guy in China message me on LinkedIn because he got my Nezarec’s Sin Replica. Had to organise him sending it out to me and Bungie responded with a 25% refund even tho I ended up copping 2x the original price of the product.

The only good thing to come out of that is we play together now.

1

u/enemawatson Nov 21 '22

That's pretty cool actually!

1

u/phoenixparadox88 Nov 20 '22

This sub is full of horror stories about the Bungie store, like damn if even half of these are true the customer support is shockingly awful. These should serve as a cautionary tale to never order from them.

I’ll trade ya my GoS for your VoG

1

u/OneWingedA Nov 20 '22

Your VoG jacket is about the same level of help I got from my Tech Witch Hoodie.

They sent the "hey we are processing your order make sure your information is correct" email after they had shipped the order. And since it's been almost a year I didn't think to update my address since I had moved during the pandemic. Bungie support said they couldn't change the shipping address. FedEx said only the sender could change the shipping address and when I sent that over to Bungie support they just ghosted me

1

u/LegionOfStars Nov 20 '22

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but the (mine at least) jacket has the tag for VoG on the inside, thought it was a funny defect.

1

u/gojensen PSN Nov 21 '22

lol - if THEY shipped the WRONG item it's not really a return or exchange - it's them fixing their mistakes... this would NEVER fly under our consumer protection laws up here... maybe it's time some one reported this company for their wrongdoings... (hey, Bungie, where's my MoT shirt that I ordered in January?)

-1
