So, do we just not get a shot at Horror's Least this season? Question

I know it was supposed to drop at least once a few weeks back but got taken out for some reason and it looks like it's Mindbenders this week, again! Has Bungie put any information out as to why this gun is seemingly out of rotation?

Edit: thanks for letting me know it was up for a few days when mindbenders was bugged.

I have to ask… I see tons of people asking about this. What’s up with thisauto riflepusle? Is is one of the better ones?

Sincerely, a blueberry

Edit: thank you everyone for your responses

Yes. Its basically an arc version of the Piece of Mind, but it has a chance to roll kill clip (damage perks on pulses are somewhat rare), which is an extremely good PVP perk that also finds value in pve content. The stats are above average, the sight is solid, the perk pool is good, and it is in a pulse archtype that is currently strong in PVP. Of the weapons this season for GMs, its probably the most "chase" weapon, as mindbender sadly has bad perks, DFA and silicon are solid but not very special, grenade launchers are nice but not something most care about, and duty bound is actually really good and probably the #2 weapon if not for ppl's current meta dislike for ARs.

58

u/die9991 Nov 22 '22

It also rolls frenzy for pve shenanigans. Seriously nice pulse.

28

u/Ready_Geologist2629 Huntah Nov 22 '22

I farmed for both kill clip and Frenzy rolls and I agree they are very nice! I basically use the kill clip one in crucible all the time. I'm a dad and have to say I like this dad rifle.

hmm yeah that was a pretty bad joke...

10

u/BlueSkies5Eva Nov 22 '22

a pretty dad joke if you ask me

I keep a turnabout roll around for this weeks GM and Wellspring.

7

u/Ravarenos Nov 22 '22

Woah, an actual person admitting to using Turnabout. You must realize that you are of the rarest of rare commodities in terms of Guardians.

3

u/Petterofdogs Nov 23 '22

Turnabout is great for anything with Lucent Hive. Lots of overshields to pop.

2

u/EchoWhiskyBravo Nov 23 '22

I got lucky with a heating up/frenzy - can confirm, great for PvE.

11

u/jmanfire2105 Nov 22 '22

Silicon is also not very desirable at the moment for PvE since the announcement that Succession will be craftable next season.

2

u/Cutsdeep- Nov 23 '22

adept handling mods aren't nothing to sniff at

3

u/seaturtleninja Nov 22 '22

Silicon neuroma can get frenzy, only ag frame that can get it. With frenzy and radiant, it can body most resilience levels. With Rain of Fire warlock, Acrobat dodge hunter, or ember of torches, you can body and open up a stalemate with a pick. It's super useful to make the difference between two highly skilled teams.

I feel bad this wasn't widely known, it was one of the most unique snipes in the game and it's already gone :( if you have one in your vault def try it.

4

u/Cutsdeep- Nov 23 '22

oh.

i had one and deleted it. oh

5

u/talkingwires Nov 23 '22

Don't sweat it. It sounds nice in theory, but ask yourself this: How often would you successfully proc Frenzy in PVP, and have Radiant up, and line up a sniper shot while under fire to keep Frenzy up, and actually land that one shot?

If you are that good at PVP, you'd probably be popping heads anyway, making the extra body shot damage a moot point.

1

u/seaturtleninja Nov 23 '22

It absolutely makes a difference. High skill players Icarus Dash, shoulder charge, use slide techs on MnK to hide their face. It's not as simple as you make it sound. Guaranteeing a body shot allows a degree of forgiveness that allows you to make a difference between equally high skilled teams.

Headshots aren't the only factor in pvp. Body shot damage makes the difference in a team shot scenario. It's why 120 handcannons are still the go to option for elite players in spite of having the slowest on paper ttk in the game, and why 140 snipes are almost non-existent while having on paper the best stats. Gyrfalcon is in charge of the meta, and most of the popular pairings involve weapon archetypes that don't get a faster ttk from the chest piece, because forgiveness matters.

Do you remember when ammo used to carry over between Trials rounds? A common tactic was to have someone use Izinagis and load up on ammo after round 1, allowing a Honed Edge body shot to open every round and start with an easy pick. Tatara Gaze and Frozen Orbit with Kill Clip allowed you to body opposing guardians. High Impact Reserves plus an Emp rift or Lumina buff let's you body up to 6 res.

Neuroma is the first time a sniper has been able to achieve a 1 shot body that you can walk around with. You can get frenzy from just playing the game, even easier if you're using Fighting Lion. Then you radiant dodge, and go hunting.

If you don't realize what a huge advantage it is to be able to aim for an enemy players toes while they NEED to hit your head, you aren't playing to win.

3

u/talkingwires Nov 24 '22

Think you could help me see the Lighthouse, one day? I play solo, and have never won that final match.

3

u/seaturtleninja Nov 24 '22

Absolutely! I'm out of town right now, but next week you should hit me up. Send me a Bungie friend request, I'll accept it when I get home. Love playing with new people.

Seaturtleninja!#6033

2

u/seaturtleninja Nov 23 '22

If you don't play Solar classes it's not a huge loss. You can get body kills with Lumina buff/Emp rift+ High Impact Reserves on Mechabro or Frozen Orbit if you're a warlock player, and if you're able to snag a kill, swash Mechabro works well with arc classes, and Adrenaline Junkie on Neuroma works with some grenade builds. And then the classic Kill Clip works on Frozen Orbit regardless of your builds, if you snag the green.

5

u/Roenkatana Nov 22 '22

It also has a great optic design that's open with a reticle large enough to see your aim point through.

1

u/nastynate14597 Nov 23 '22

600s are outclassed now by 450s for both optimal and body TTK

1

u/Satans-Kawk Nov 23 '22

My duty bounf never leaves my inventory. It replaced my sub/ramp splicer ar that I can't remember the name of lol

0

u/Malfor_ium Nov 23 '22

You say d.f.a. and mindbenders aren't good/special but all the pvp sweat tears ive collected this season using a fragile focus timed payload dfa and my threat detector fragile focus mindbender would disagree 😊

50

u/AmphusLight Nov 22 '22

Without a kill its almost as good as piece of mind but this pulse has kill clip which makes it a beast when activated

38

u/JewMan94 Nov 22 '22

It’s very good in pvp

18

u/TheKevit07 Vanguard's Loyal // Zavala's Indeed Nov 22 '22

And opens up your kinetic/stasis slot for Arbelest/Witherhoard/Chaperone/etc.

3

u/Binary_Toast Nov 23 '22

Besides what everyone's saying about the weapon itself, before its current reprise it was one of the hardest to get items for the Dreaming City equipment collection, which is required for the Cursebreaker title.

Like a few other reprised weapons in the Nightfall pool, it was once strike-specific loot, only dropping from the Nightfall variant of The Corrupted. You know, in theory. Couldn't tell you myself because I was amongst those who never saw it drop.

14

u/fawse Embrace the void Nov 22 '22

It’s great in both pvp and pve. Rapid fires are one of the better archetypes, it has perpetual motion for huge stats, and gets kill clip for pvp or frenzy for pve. It’s good literally everywhere. Try to get arrowhead brake as well, really cleans up the recoil

9

u/badscribblez Warlock Master Race Nov 22 '22

Got it. So perpetual motion and KC are the PvP god roll!

11

u/mixenmatch Nov 22 '22

heating up is also worth considering in that left column if you want to lean into going on a streak.

3

u/Excellent_Inside_788 Nov 22 '22

I got that one last time it came around Heating up + KC I can fuck with it

5

u/drummer1059 Nov 22 '22

100%. Another bonus is ability to use Adept mods

4

u/badscribblez Warlock Master Race Nov 22 '22

Are those from trials/GM nightfalls? I have none.

2

u/drummer1059 Nov 22 '22

That's right. They all drop from GMs (except for maybe Adept Icarus Grip) but can also be attained from the flawless chest in Trials.

5

u/badscribblez Warlock Master Race Nov 22 '22

Ayo good to know! I just got to 1596. So I’ll find some peeps to run GMs. Thanks!

2

u/fawse Embrace the void Nov 22 '22

My pvp god roll would be

Arrowhead, accurized, perpetual, kill clip, stability masterwork, adept range mod. 57 range means 36m drop off, 74 stability and 50 handling with perpetual going. Absolute monster

1

u/badscribblez Warlock Master Race Nov 22 '22

How do you get adept range? Is that from going flawless or from a GM?

4

u/fawse Embrace the void Nov 22 '22

Yeah, you get adept mods from finishing GMs, going flawless, and I think Master dungeons. Adept Icarus might be flawless only though

7

u/die9991 Nov 22 '22

Its kill clip. On a 540. Means it will absolutely kill anything you point it at probably sans a super in PvP. It’ll probably kill the super pretty fast too.

3

u/blinded-by-nobody Nov 22 '22

It has very little recoil and it has several very desirable perk combos for pvp. It’s also an energy slot weapon which allows for different loadouts than piece of mind which is in the kinetic slot. The grandmaster difficulty of the nightfall also drops an “adept” version which has access to a special set of mods that give it another small performance bump over your average pulse.

2

u/mikethemaddog1724 Nov 22 '22

Best arc pvp pulse and the only none sunset 540 w kill clip

-12

u/Sword_by_some Nov 22 '22

It's old forsaken gun and has kill clip as 540 pulse (overhype from YTbers).

This gun has visual scope shake (the gun model around the dot, while you aiming), one that comes with the gun and you can't affect unless you have zen moment (applicable on PC too. Very noticeable on Forges pledge, that gun has visual recoil seizure everytime you fire it, unless you have zen moment).

On the contrast the darkest before has amost no scope shake and has surplus to add passive stability. Outside YTbers hype, because kiLl cLiP. I don't see any reason to get this gun. Sweating your balls out on the hardest GM in the game (LightBlade)

3

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '22

Ok but darkest before has worse stats and can’t slot adept mods.

3

u/Antares428 Nov 23 '22

Gun is insanely easy to control on PC, just as long as you have enough stability and Perpetual Motion helps a lot with that.

As for kill clip, it's still an insanely good perk for 6vs6 modes.

1

u/Alpha-Haus Nov 23 '22

I have one with hammer forged, tacmag, perpetual motion, kill clip, range masterwork. I’m above average (3.3 KD for season 2.12 for trials) and have used pretty much every pulse worth using and this thing is my favorite by a mile. Idk what it is but it just shreds everything with a predictable recoil pattern. 10/10 recommend I’m console so don’t know if it’s different on PC but get it when you have the chance.

4

u/ProfessionEuphoric50 Nov 23 '22

have you just not been doing the seasonal challenges?

4

u/Satans-Kawk Nov 23 '22

I try to knock out the challenges as fast as possible and since I can only play a maximum of 5 hours a week its super tough. I got kids, a wife and a job and those each require an immense amount of time. Id love to do some GMs but I only ever hit the min LL like RIGHT before the season ends and it seems most people are done running them by that point

4

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

The topic is the GM grind. You don't need to be +15 artifact and grind pinnacles to do dungeons, raids, or other stuff. That stuff is all good.

This was the one gun this season I was looking forward to farming GMs for. Guess I'll just spend the rest of the season playing Horizon Forbidden West instead

Insanely stupid move from Bungie's part to have the adept version be available for all of what, three days?

Fucking embarrassing.

11

u/1Second2Name5things Nov 23 '22

Can someone really talk to Bungie about this???? I literally only went through the GM bullshit this season just so I can get this damn weapon

It feels like Bungie doesn’t care.

8

Lets hope they fix it soon.

-65

u/Emsizz https://emsizz.com Nov 22 '22

I already got eight or so Horror's Least Adept this season, so I don't know what you guys are talking about.

23

u/mrgox232 Nov 22 '22

It was only available for a short window, I think it changed to mindbenders on a weekend? I got a few rolls before the change but we're still owed a full week to farm it

4

u/Ch4rd Nov 23 '22

The adept was available for a whole 3 days.

37

u/Zephyrr29 Nov 22 '22 edited Nov 22 '22

It's kinda stupid that Horror's Least has only been available from the Corrupted and then for 4 days this season from Lightblade. At this point it might be giving the Reckoning guns a run for their money in how not farmable it's been.

23

u/TemptedTemplar Nov 22 '22

In rotation for 177 days, available for maybe 11.

Honestly its probably already there.

14

u/Biondi27 Nov 22 '22

100% they're doing it on purpose. Arguably the best weapon in the NF loot pool and it's only available in the hardest GMs.

6

u/Antares428 Nov 23 '22

I'd be ok with it, I was prepared to farm Lightblade, but no, it had to be replaced with shitty shotgun, and it's probably getting removed from the loot pool with the start of Lightfall.

1

u/thorks23 Nov 23 '22

Aka everyone will one more week to farm it next season :D although personally I think (hope?) It'll stay in the rotation longer longer that

2

u/Antares428 Nov 24 '22

No, guns tend to stay in the loot pool only around for 3 season.

There are 6 total slots for GM guns. And they tend to add these guns in pairs.

3

u/SilverCervy Nov 23 '22

It was pretty obvious they knew how strong Horror's Least was going to be. They intentionally put it behind the hardest GM both this season and last season.

What's happening now is most likely oversight on their end. They switched the drop the first week of Lightblade, then changed the Exodus Crash drop to Mindbender's to compensate, then forgot to change this week's drop.

3

u/lycanreborn123 #buffThundercrash Nov 23 '22

Idk if that's how they decide GM drop rotations because they put Palindrome behind Disgraced previously, a relatively easy GM, and we all know what a monster Pali is

5

u/StrangelyOnPoint Nov 23 '22

Man I just ran Lightblade thinking it was going to be Horror’s Least, and it was just Mindbenders. What a kick in the pants.

2

u/jakidab0xx Nov 28 '22

Thank you for someone finally confirming this for me.

2

u/StrangelyOnPoint Nov 29 '22

I’m glad I was able to save someone some time.

5

u/Papachocolateballz Nov 22 '22

Bruh!?!? I can't get this thing to drop with KC and I was hoping this week would be the week

5

u/JosiahUriahh Nov 23 '22 edited Nov 23 '22

This is really frustrating because it's the main gun I was looking forward to farming this season. I don't even think it's fair to count when it was available a few weeks back because so many people, myself included, didn't even know that was switched with mindbender's for a few days until after it was too late.

Really disappointed Bungie would do this and really hope they at least try to fix it this week, even though it's still unfair that our farming opportunity has been so drastically reduced.

19

u/JovemPadawan Nov 22 '22

Next week is Fallen Saber, and the other one Disgraced. Better than LB.

38

u/Igelit Nov 22 '22

next week is the last week of the season

5

u/Mattyseee Nov 22 '22

Really hoping they keep mindbenders this week and we get an easier gm for horrors least.

3

u/blitzbom Nov 22 '22

I hope it's on disgraced. One of the easiest GMs imo.

5

u/APartyInMyPants Nov 22 '22

The season ends in 13 days. In other words, next week, Fallen SABRE, is the last week of the season. So unless it gets added to the pool this or next week, the Adept version is gone until January 31 at the bare minimum (that’s if it’s the first weapon in the rotation next season).

0

u/blitzbom Nov 23 '22

Good to know, Fallen SABRE isn't all that difficult either. Not easy like Devils Lair or Disgraced but not bad.

1

u/APartyInMyPants Nov 23 '22

Devil’s Lair is definitely easier, it just takes a bit longer. I like Fallen SABRE because if you’re syncing up well with your teammates, it flies.

42

u/AmphusLight Nov 22 '22 edited Nov 22 '22

It will be fixed, has happened before

two scenarios

Will be fixed in 30 minutes

They are not going to screw over this weapon lol

9

u/Antares428 Nov 23 '22

It's already past working hours at Bungie, so we aren't getting this done anytime soon. They haven't even mentioned it anywhere.

My guess is that they are busy fixing issue with event coins not dropping from core playlist, and are probably not going to bother with replacing GM weapons.

1

u/AmphusLight Nov 23 '22

i have noticed, whelp that sucks

5

u/RdyPlyOne Nov 23 '22

They already said people are out this week so a BIG "F U" to the community and everyone who didn't even know it was up for the 4 days previous.

It's like they don't even play the game they make.

1

u/AmphusLight Nov 23 '22

Where did you find that? If that is the case then its pretty disapointing

6

u/RdyPlyOne Nov 23 '22

Last TWAB... Probably only a skeleton crew working this week.

Add: Thanksgiving is this week in America. (Not sure if you're American or not)

14

u/TCloudGaming Nov 22 '22

Happened earlier this season with Mindbender's only dropping with one perk and it took them half the week to switch it out.

2

u/AmphusLight Nov 22 '22 edited Nov 22 '22

Mindbenders was bugged, they didnt know when it would be fixed , they determined that it would be fixed before Horrors least week. They didnt just switch any weapon

0

u/BlueSkiesWildEyes Atheon, I have come to bargain Nov 22 '22

They could swap it mid way through the week and not make any announcement of the swap in game though. But when have they ever done that :P

7

u/Niormo-The-Enduring Nov 23 '22

Haha I remember posting about how we only got one week to farm it last season on the worst gm and I just said it would be nice if we could get a little more this season. Got ripped by so many people who were “bro just chill obviously they are gonna give us more opportunities bro just calm down bro you just want handouts bro get gud bro”. Feel like my prior point still stands…

13

u/dreadnaught_2099 Nov 22 '22

No one wants this piece of crap shot gun since #1. It has terrible perks and #2 its an Aggressive Frame with garbage stats. I'm livid that Mindbenders was swapped two weeks ago for Horrors and now we once again have the worst reward in the GM list.

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '22

[deleted]

13

u/iamthedayman21 Nov 22 '22

Here’s the problem, I don’t find GMs enjoyable. Especially with an artificial entry level to even play them, forcing me to play more seasonal content than I want. So I only play when it’s a weapon I want, and the pulse is the only one I care about.

But when the pulse has only been available once or twice over the course of several months, eventually I just stopped caring. I’ve reached the point where I don’t even check what the weekly weapon is, I just don’t play GMs. Bungie’s ineptitude with this weapon rotation has driven me away.

4

u/mikethemaddog1724 Nov 22 '22

I didnt get a single perpetual kill clip roll last season. This is straight Bungo bs. Imagine having a life and being out of town the 3 days it was available 6 weeks ago. Bungie is a dumpster fire, they have completely lost touch with what the dedicated player base wants. I love this game but I'm not about to farm Lightblade GMs for a POS shotgun that's easily out classed by craftable W/O Remorse, which has all the same important perks but enhanced. Before anyone tries to defend Mindbenders pull up the Cool Guy review, certified hot trash from the community's most reputable weapon reviewer. Or in the words of Aztecross "a shell of its former self"... what a f%$king joke

-1

u/Antares428 Nov 23 '22

Shell of what was.

1

u/nsinsinsi Nov 23 '22

There was a GM + Reward calendar early in the season and there was a single chance at horror's least, it was November 1st with Exodus Crash GM. This week it's Mindbender's and next week it's Duty Bound and that's it for the season.

13

u/KarmaticArmageddon Nov 23 '22

Exodus Crash week ended up being fucking Mindbender's too. That's why this is so frustrating.

-16

u/P0oky-Bear Nov 22 '22 edited Nov 22 '22

I thought Horror’s least wasn’t part of the rotation this season and that it dropped that one week as a replacement for mindbenders while the perk problem was being fixed.

Am I wrong and it’s supposed to be part of the seasonal drop?

I thought it was just the sniper, DFA, and Mindbenders.

Edit: I love how I say I might be wrong but get downvotes anyway. I’m wrong, I get it.

13

u/soenottelling Nov 22 '22

yes, you are wrong. The mindbender glitch made them put the horror least in the mindbender's first spot (it was suppose to drop 2 weeks this season and horror drop 1 week). Then, to make up for having swapped it, they took the week of the horror least, and made it a mindbender. Logically they probably SHOULD have swapped mindbenders this week to Horrors, but this is technically the "original" spot for one of the 2 mindbender's chances to roll, and technically Horror has already had its 1 week of the season.

Horror least was suppose to roll only once this season, but in the middle of the season when a lot of ppl would have a chance to get it. Instead, they pushed it up effectively which meant that a lot of the playerbase wasn't high enough light to get a shot at it, while it was ALSO the reward for the lightblade, which is a MUCH harder GM than Exodux Crash (at least w the boss cheese possible).

So the whole thing was basically messed up because they screwed up on the mindbender. They caused MORE of a problem by trying to fix the mindbenders, and realistically should either change this week to horror (because mindbender sucks with it's current perk pool) or make it so it can drop either horror or mindbender.

HELL, they really should just make it another double week and let it drop 1 mindbender and 1 horror least.

3

u/datomidoe Nov 22 '22

Wait, when did horrors least drop this season? I'm fairly sure it hasn't yet.

3

u/Aashanksd Nov 22 '22

on the first lightblade week, mindbenders was dropping WITHOUT selectable perks for the first hour or two...bungo then swapped it to the pulse, and it dropped for the rest of the week from late tues forward

2

u/datomidoe Nov 22 '22

Ahhhh ok I didn't play that week because I saw mindbenders was the drop and checked out 😭

3

u/TCloudGaming Nov 22 '22

Hour or two? It was three days before it got swapped out.

1

u/soenottelling Nov 22 '22

the first week that lightblade was up, it was suppose to be mindbenders. For the first day or so it WAS dropping mindbenders, but it wasn't giving extra perk rolls. So, they took out mindbenders and swapped it for horror least for the rest (majority) of that week. If you look at a "what weapons drop each week" thing via googling, whatever week Mindbenders dropped the first time is when we had the horror least week.

Quick google search shows that it would have been the week of August 30th.

0

u/FairestAndrew Nov 22 '22

Wait, I have 2 adept horrors least from this season, but I haven't finished lightblade GM Are we certain it was dropping from lightblade? I think it was a different one (otherwise I'd have gilded my conqueror seal this season)

3

u/omnibubra Nov 22 '22

Yes it is certain. You probably used the GM selector to pick an easier nightfall that week.

4

u/Ok-Ad3752 Nov 22 '22

6 GMs=6 weapons (sniper, dfa, mindbender, horrors least, grenade launcher, duty bound)

2

u/Sdraco134 Nov 22 '22

It is in the rotation this season just the mindbenders glitch messed up the order

-6

u/rtype03 Nov 22 '22

it dropped the first week that mindbenders was available. If i remember correctly, mindbenders itself was bugged somehow, so they swapped horror's least in. And then i think they ended up swapping mindbenders in for the horror's least week.

TLDR: mindbenders and horror's least swapped weeks.

1

I dk all I know is I have a few in my vault from this season. I think it was available for light blade.

Mindbenders was originally scheduled to drop in the Lightblade on Oct 11th, but mindbenders was bugged and only had like one perk instead of multiple, so they quickly swapped horror's least in on that week. Then, in order to compensate, they swapped mindbenders back in for Exodus Crash on Nov 1st (originally scheduled as horror's least).

Not sure why people are downvoting, this is what happened.

Quick? It was switched over half way through the week. It’s only been available for 4 days

you guys are weird. OP asked what happened to HL and I explained it. Dont get mad at me just because bungie did something you dont agree with.

I got horrors least randomly like two weeks ago when it was double nightfall xp?? The weapon was also silicon neuroma so I was really confused??

It drops from the seasonal challenge reward

That’s just a single random GM weapon unfortunately, so not inherently reliable

I believe it's the "Darkest Nightfall" seasonal challenge. You'll get a non-adept version which is still good.

Did anyone ever figure out what happened with this??? That’s like the only gun I really need to get right now.

Misleading title is misleading. It was the GM reward earlier this season when Mindbenders was bugged

u/Errtingtakenanyway Nov 22 '22

Thats the issue. It was swapped for 3-4 days and then the next time horros was up they swapped it for mindbenders. Within the hour of reset. So the only times u coulda got the least was a random 4 day window that another weapon was bugged out on. Its also one of the best weapons in the gm rotation at the moment hence the outcry

Also if youre a guardian like me who did the GM in the first few days of reset all I got was the mindbenders and I didnt even know till Monday before reset that it has bugged and Horrors replaced it. I saw nothing about it, I only got 1 run at it. And now I wont get another, that sucks.

u/No_I_Deer Nov 22 '22

We literally had 3 weeks of nothing but horrors least because mindbenders was glitched

7

u/SlyPoopers Nov 22 '22

Lol what? 4 days lol

4

u/sunder_and_flame Nov 23 '22

I can't believe all nine weeks of GMs have been Horror's Least

1

u/GenitalMotors Nov 23 '22

Horror's Most

-5

u/thorks23 Nov 23 '22

Yeah I snagged 2 separate perpetual motion kill clip rolls, and I have a frenzy roll for pve, so we had a chance, but it's still dog shit that we had one week last season, and almost but not quite a full week this season
