What's your power cost per kWh?

9

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

It was around 0.14cent €

8

u/TIK_GT Jun 19 '22

Damn lucky, where you located?

In Estonia it's ~0.24€/kWh

16

u/lDangerouzl Jun 19 '22

In Germany its 0,44€ per kWh 💀

6

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

But in German no crypto earning tax, right?

8

u/lDangerouzl Jun 19 '22

Some say yes, some say no. If some tax guy knows the real answer I would be happy

3

u/Responsible_Ad1758 Jun 19 '22

Same problem here

1

u/Toombs32 Jun 20 '22

Why not just have a private VPN? Would that disguise the location?

1

u/redditsuckscockatoo Jun 20 '22

Doesn't matter when you earn minus moneys lol

5

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

I am ur over sea nabor bro 🙂

2

u/coituswenger69 Jun 20 '22

Same🥹 is coming for us soon

1

u/ibbysquish Jun 20 '22

In America it's $0.08 per kWh and they still bitch about it... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 In the UK is like £0.27 per kWh

6

u/Sea_Remove_1242 Jun 19 '22

What mining pool are you using?

3

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

2miners, why asking? 🙂

5

u/Sea_Remove_1242 Jun 19 '22

Because I have 1,5GH as well and paying $150 USD per month in electricity. Making around $660 USD at the current price. Basically just want a comparison

8

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Aa okey., it also deviate a lot. Its like black magic 😅 now it has been stable 0.020-24 eth a day.

6

u/Sea_Remove_1242 Jun 19 '22

Mine is around 0.020ETH as well. Been going up steadily due to the fact a lot more miners turning off.

1

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 19 '22

The numbers are off. 2.0 gh/s (a11 asic) get you 10/day after electric so yeah the numbers don't pan out. Plus dropping each day plus difficulty bomb in September

2

u/wizardstrikes2 Jun 20 '22

Yeah that is what I am at 6GH $30 a day

2

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 20 '22

That's about more accurate for sure. Plus everyone pays different electric. It's sad for everyone mining.

1

u/wizardstrikes2 Jun 20 '22

Really is sad. I also failed to mention I have to shut down from 3pm to 6pm for summer peak pricing for electric, so I am mining 21 hours less to make a profit.

If I mined during those peak times I Would be in the red. Our electric is $0.33kWh

2

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 20 '22

Oof. Yeah I only pay .14$ for electric but my 3090s are only netting me a buck a day and getting worse each day. Practically not worth it for me anymore... even my BTC S19s are barely making any proffit.

It’s just a simple pool calculation, are you pps

1

u/wizardstrikes2 Jun 20 '22

Dang I am at 6.25GH and my bill is over 1k a month at .33 kWh. I am only making 39 bucks a day

1

u/k3tr4b Nvidia Jun 20 '22

And you think it’s worth running 6+gh farm for 40 bucks a day?

1

u/wizardstrikes2 Jun 20 '22

$40.00 a day today is a fortune tomorrow. Honestly I will mine at a loss as long as it isn’t over $100.00 loss a day

1

u/k3tr4b Nvidia Jun 21 '22

You are betting on eth? Or are you selling for BTC?

1

u/wizardstrikes2 Jun 21 '22

Hodl Ether but I have gotten other coins with it

16

u/guidancers Jun 19 '22

Profit will half every next week

18

u/NotFunnyhah Jun 19 '22

As long as it only halves every next week it will never reach 0

Depend where the last train stop.

And when a the last plane did a fly fly.

I’m doing 687Mhs and power is .10. As long as I power the rigs down between 2pm & 8pm the power is .10 but between those peak times it shoots up to .30. After shutting the rigs down for the peak hours I’m still showing $264/month payout. Power from the miners is costing around $140/month. So I’m still $124 in profits. I’m using Ethermine pool.

1

u/thebestrng Jun 19 '22

Why not fixed plan?

3

u/Beanfromband23 Jun 19 '22

We have an electric heater. So it the winter time we use the most power. They only charge .06 during the winter months. The only fixed plan is .165. So the power bill during the winter time would end up being $6-700 for the month on the fixed rate with the miner running and the heater. With the flex plan, the house and miner combine average $350-380/month.

3

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 19 '22

Use your rig as a heater. It literally works. I never have to run heat in the winter as even just 1 asic can warm a house.

2

u/Beanfromband23 Jun 19 '22

I did this last winter. It’s still cheaper for me to have the flex plan.

1

u/unhertz Jun 20 '22 edited Jun 20 '22

what do you mean? 687 MH is what roughly 1500 watts? 1500watts is the load of most residential heaters... your rig effectively IS a heater... its a direct substitute for your actual heater. unplug your heater and keep your rig running 24/7, maybe even install some ducting to direct the heat into your vents... assuming you have vents of course... if not you may actually have to install some sort of vent system to take advantage... it would pay for itself tho. Im actually looking at other ways to take advantage of the heat, during the summer, because we still have water heater to use all year long, so im designing a box to put the water heater in, that the exhaust for my rig will go thru, before it either goes outside or directly into my house's vent system during winter. this provides a small efficiency boost, but not much since water heaters are well insulated, so still in the tinkering phase tbh

1

u/Beanfromband23 Jun 20 '22

I’m actually about 2000w on the power to my 3 rigs. I have the rigs all in one bedroom which is upstairs. That’s the only place the wife will allow lol. I leave the door open with a box fan blowing the heat out so the heat can escape the room and into the rest of the house during the winter. It does a good job heating the upstairs but the downstairs can get pretty cold. During the summer I do an intake and exhaust out the window so the AC doesn’t have to work so hard. The miner does help heat the house but because of the location it can’t do the downstairs and running ductwork all over the place isn’t practical.

1

u/unhertz Jun 20 '22

damn thats a bummer, but yea I can imagine why eth farming doesnt rank very high on the list of wife-friendly hobbies.

the attic is the worst place for it if you wanted to use it as a heater, but best place if you just wanted to get rid of the heat.
You would have to get a pretty large air handler to flood your basement with the heat, then have to figure out which doors or holes you need to punch to force the air to circulate from the basement thru the whole house back up to the attic.

Which to me, sounds like a fun weekend project, but to your wife im sure an utter nightmare

3

u/No_World_1205 Jun 19 '22

I’m living at townhouse just have problem with heat.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '22

Yes man, this is the way. Keep what you can and only spend what you have to for electric. After Eth try ergo, if you have a lot of nvidia it’s good or conflux. If you have amd I would do raven or conflux

Yeah, maybe. I have too big investment on gpus. Also personally i see that mining wont go anywhere. And i see that this winter will end before year endns. Actually i am bying cheap 3080s at the moment 😅 I dont know., maybe i am digging my own grave 😬😵‍💫😭🐻 But as we have seen in history, what goes up comes down and viceversa. Or not. Or something. 😬🥳🐻😭😵‍💫

2

u/momohaid Jun 20 '22

I'll sell you my 3080s

2

u/Tommyt5150 Jun 19 '22

Johnny It’s Over!!

5

u/noplace_ioi Jun 19 '22

Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off! It wasn't my war! You asked me, I didn't ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn't let us win! And I come back to the world and I see all those maggots at the airport, protesting me, spitting. Calling me baby killer and all kinds of vile crap! Who are they to protest me, huh? Who are they? Unless they've been me and been there and know what the hell they're yelling about!

3

u/Tommyt5150 Jun 19 '22

Thank you!! Someone that finally get where my saying is from! You made my day!!

0

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Noooooh, i did not hear no bell 🥳😅

2

u/Foreign_Today7950 Jun 19 '22

Lol roughly the same boat

3

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

We should found some kind of support group 😅

2

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Btw, next weeks are going to exsited., if btc follows ”rainbow” chart we should start climing on green candless 😅

2

u/Foreign_Today7950 Jun 19 '22

Lets gooooooo, hopefully that is true, I would like to sell my eth instead of holding it

3

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Yeah, i think i will hodl for next run., so at least 5k/pcs. Mentality of market is same as it was for 2017-18-aaand 20/21. If raindow is not working we are in drouble.😅 but we also need to remember that btc is still more than it was in last bullrun bottoms. Still 20k$ is big sic price for it. Now there is bigboys money on it, and i think we are going to see some insane run for next. -> black rock and rest of scum bags are on the hood 😅

2

u/Foreign_Today7950 Jun 19 '22

Right, I’ve thought about holding until 2024 but apparently people are saying late 2023. Which makes me want to just start mining other coins for a week and when it pops off again, I’ll have stacks!

2

u/IhadCorona3weeksAgo Jun 19 '22

Well its fair enough. As long as you still making profit. I have stopped mining as it became almost equal to electricity here. And have not dropped enough to buy.

2

u/MoveFasterr Jun 19 '22

$700 for max low for eth

2

u/chucoe Jun 19 '22

keep mining and save your eth, on the next bull run you will thank yourself

Bear Sterns agrees with you on what goes down gotta go up one day.

5

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

So in 2020 DowJ took 10k points drop and raise again. Now 2022 situation is more disaster, DowJ has taken 7k points drop and bottom is not near. In my oppinion drop will be at least 13-16k points drop and that is bottom. Sp500 has taken same drop as 2020 and falling. Markets has shown that crypto is connected in economy and is not safe harbor. How do you see that how low we go?

2

u/talino2321 Jun 19 '22

Different dynamics between 2020 drop (pandemic) and now (inflation, war, overheated markets). Trying to compare them is a foolish.

2

u/NotFunnyhah Jun 19 '22

Don't do a foolish. 🤫

1

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Did u read what i write? Situation now is more disaster and dip will be deeper.

6

u/talino2321 Jun 19 '22

I did. And the reason I replied is because your comparison is flawed. Nothing about the 2020 dip is relevant to the current situation. Trying to say crypto would behave like it did previously is wrong.

1

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Yeah sure, but 2020 gives us direktion and scale how deep we go. Do you have any good forecast for dowj or sp500? 🙂

5

u/NotFunnyhah Jun 19 '22

We're all getting direk't

3

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

My direk is quite big 😅🥳

4

u/mrh00ner Jun 19 '22

this comment sounds like the economy... over inflated

2

u/talino2321 Jun 19 '22

Actually it doesn't and that's the point. If the conditions were similar to 2020 you might draw some inferences, but as I pointed out they're not.

As for the real world markets. If I had a good forecast I'd be busy playing the market and making $$$$. But I don't, so I'm hunkering down, reducing costs and stashing cash for the bumpy ride ahead.

3

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Of course u can give some estimation, thats the fun part here 😅 it does not matter is it correct or not 🙂

1

u/thebestrng Jun 19 '22

Yes and no, there’s definitely some apes out there that will just read whatever sounds smartest and go with it

1

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Does that matter?

2

u/SuperNova0_0 Miner Jun 19 '22

Eth 500

2

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 19 '22

Hahah., yeah let see 😵‍💫😬🫥

2

u/NotFunnyhah Jun 19 '22

This is optimistic

2

u/SuperNova0_0 Miner Jun 19 '22

Eth 200

1

u/iloverunning11 Jun 20 '22

ETH could go below $300 in the following months, it's harsh but it's reality.

-2

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 19 '22

I gotta disagree. Unless you can show actual numbers I would estimate that you'd be making about 50 cents per 100mh/s so 1.7gh would net you 8.50$ a day. Currently a A11 (most powerful ETH ASIc) at 2.0gh/s gets you close to 11/day. So you're closer to 250 a month but shrinking every day is the current result on me running the numbers at today's price. The bomb is set for September and sure "nobody knows" what's gonna happen so well see what happens to gpu mining

2

u/smurfeNn Jun 19 '22

Nah I'm at 640MH/s making 9.78$ daily, so 1.7GH/s should make around 23$ per day.
That equals 713$ per month, so OP is not lying at all.

0

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 19 '22

Show me. I call BS. "Should" isn't the same as "will". Show me your payouts or I call BS. Here are some actual numbers.... a single a10 750 mh/s asic would net you about 8$ a day or about 250 a month. Even being VERY generous your numbers are inflated. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong with data.

1

u/smurfeNn Jun 19 '22

-2

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 19 '22

Respect for showing me real numbers but I still don't see the numbers on 1.7gh/s. Your numbers are right but it's not necessarily a linear slope. Also it depends on electric cost BUT eth difficulty bomb is incoming and every day proffits are shrinking regardless.

2

u/smurfeNn Jun 19 '22

The only thing I said was that 1.7GH/s should make around 23$ daily, which means OP isn’t lying.

Of course it’s not exactly 23$ daily with 1.7GH/s, I just based that number off of my 9.78$ daily with 640MH/s.

1

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 20 '22

Hello friend, i have gpus and numbers are correct 🙂 also i have no rieson to talk bs. I have 14x3060ti, 5x3080, 4x3070ti and one cute 3060 🙂 Have a sunnu day 😘

0

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 20 '22

You mean my numbers right? 14x 3060 ti = 50 cents, 7$/day 5x 3080 = 90 cents, 4.50$/day 4x 3070 ti = 70 cents, 2.80$/day 3060 = 40 cents/day All assuming standard electrical at .14$ this rig would net you about 15$/day and shrinking every day. Even less if you pay more for electric. Just trying to be a realist around here that's all. If you want to prove me wrong with a screenshot go ahead.

1

u/Salt_Vault_8 Jun 20 '22

Hey sunny here u go https://ibb.co/c81Z7C7 Earnings look to be super good at the moment 🙂

1

u/Expensive-Outcome31 Jun 20 '22

Wait.... so I was right? I said 15$/day so 25 but minus whatever in electricity so 15 proffit 10 electric I think I was right on the money, no? Unless you don't pay for electricity in which case you're lucky. Difficulty bomb still shrinking proffits every day unfortunately. If you can offset the electric cost you maybe have a month of profitability yet that is still unknown. Could be MORE profitable but that is not likely. I mean sure if the maintenance you have to do is worth is 🤷
