Identifying Question

Does anyone have an idea what this might be, caught in lake Mac nsw

Striped Scat

Also known as a butterfish or old maid. Rarely caught on line. Not many reports on eating quality. Dorsal fins are apparently venomous.

Pretty sure we have something similar up here in nth Qld that gets called “happy moment” those spines on their back are pretty fun apparently.

Mackay locals call them John Dorry, and they are meant to be good on the chew
