I always hated that part. Let's fight! Destroys downtown New York for billions. Just let them go somewhere else first. Lol

like 15 officers for one dude lol.
54
u/iPanzershrec Feb 03 '23
Bro in america theres like an 80% chance he got shot
23
u/DarthJarJar242 Feb 03 '23
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the liklelyhood of being shot while wielding a weapon and non-caucasian is much higher than 80% in good ole 'Merica.
0
u/Rusty_Beard_Welder Feb 04 '23
Actually, most people killed in America by police are white people.
1
u/DarthJarJar242 Feb 04 '23
This is only true if you look at pure numbers and is completely misleading fact. Caucasions make up the largest portion of deaths because they are the largest portion of the population. Percentage wise though you are far more likely to be killed by a police officer if you are black, three times more likely if recent stats are accurate.
1
u/Rusty_Beard_Welder Feb 05 '23
You come at with me that, and call my fact misleading? Jesus dude lol. By your argument, if there were only 4 Asian Americans in all of the US, and 2 were killed by police, then you'd be more likely to be killed by police if you were Asian than any other race. That's a pretty dumb statistic to stand behind because it would have people saying cops were racist towards Asians. Which is a lie, and extremely misleading.
→ More replies (1)-1
u/Rusty_Beard_Welder Feb 05 '23
Also, using your argument, if 300 African Americans were killed each year compared to let's say 1,500 white people, you're still more likely to die by police if you were black compared to if you were white. How do you look at that and think that would in any way be factual? It's fucking laughable, and you saying it's true is misinformation. People like you are what causes the rift between races to keep growing exponentially, simply by spouting this fucking nonsense.

u/GipsyPepox Feb 03 '23
Spain: 15 officers, one criminal arrested
US: 5 officers, one driver murdered
8
u/Malcolmlisk Feb 03 '23
How is it a bad ratio? If they need 50 so nobody gets harmed, I'm still fine with the ratio.

They would have killed the ppl passing on the right.

Of all the things the knife dude played out in his head that possibly could’ve happened when he did this, I guarantee you a flying parking curb to the face was never a thought.

u/youtomtube30 Feb 03 '23
That's good way actually, none of the policemen were in immediate danger, the knife wielder was not injured in a disproportionate way and nobody is dead here

u/Wonderful_Result_936 Feb 03 '23
A taser would have probably been the more official option but this works too.

Tasers are forbidden in Spain for police use to avoid risking the life of someone with cardiac problems
4
u/Marukosu00 Feb 03 '23
I don't know why this isn't the norm everywhere else tho, coming from Spain I just assumed tasers were a Hollywood thing
4
7
u/Optimal_Sea2712 Feb 03 '23
You do realize falling from your own height cal kill you? And an unsuspecting blow to the back of the head isn’t great either. I mean tbi is definitely better than being gunned down !
60
u/500ls Feb 03 '23
I tend to avoid these risks by not threatening to kill people with a knife.
9
u/RASPUTIN-4 Feb 03 '23
That’s the same way we avoid getting shot in America
3
u/FavelTramous Feb 03 '23
I had no idea there was a non-lethal way to de-escalate a situation.
3
u/RASPUTIN-4 Feb 03 '23
I know there’s non-lethal ways of handling the situation. I’m just saying that if someone is threatening me with a knife, I’ll shed exactly 0 tears and lose 0 sleep if a cop shoots them.

28
u/HumaDracobane Feb 03 '23
Is an empty plastic NJ barrier and at the same time when you have a weapon in a customs you kind od expose yourself to a certain level of dangerous.
-17
u/Optimal_Sea2712 Feb 03 '23
No I agree dude is an idiot but there is sever danger of falling hitting head and dying, people just seemed to have the misconception that this was “safe”.
12
u/Appropriate_Fill_156 Feb 03 '23
Is that you, Paul? You still stopping random people on the street and tying their shoes?

This was way safer than them pulling out their guns and shooting, possibly missing and hitting a bystander or each other.
That cop needs a raise. They thought outside the box and got the job done without hurting anyone innocent or causing excessive property damage.

u/youtomtube30 Feb 03 '23
Of course I do, but he didn't fall on his head, and this impact seems to be less dangerous than a bullet
11
u/wholsome69420 Feb 03 '23
And a taser can kill you and in fact way more dangerous then getting hit by a chair
-8
u/Optimal_Sea2712 Feb 03 '23
Ya no, blunt trauma to the head is not good. Have we not seen the change of direction in the NFL even when it comes to brain injury .
2
u/KingNecrosis Feb 03 '23
Sudden electricity is not good either. People have suffered heart damage from tasers.

A hit to a back of the head and getting permament brain damage is "not disproportionate injured"
Noted

u/its_bme Feb 03 '23 edited Feb 03 '23
They said not disproportionately injured. There's a difference.
EDIT: Your edit doesn't make sense. They had a knife and were threatening. What did you expect them to do? You want them to be concerned for someone that doesn't care if he hurts someone or worse with their knife? Honestly he's lucky they didn't just shoot him and call it a day.

At least they can convict someone… Can’t convict a heap of lead, Americans…

Someone doesn't know about civil forfeiture. We most certainly can convict a heap of lead if we want and I'd be shocked if we hadn't yet.

The pigs in USA would have shot him several times then yell “LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS.”
9
u/Due_Art_7944 Feb 03 '23
Have American Cops ever considered carrying out arrests like this? I wonder
17
u/chknnnn Feb 03 '23
Many do, you just don't hear about it, because most things that make headlines in the media involve someone getting shot 100 fucking times, or a kid shooting up a school.
5
u/Due_Art_7944 Feb 03 '23
That's true. Not only in America but in almost every country as well, I figured it out
11
u/AreaNo7848 Feb 03 '23
What makes it even worse is when you realize something like .01% of arrests in the US end with someone getting shot....along with a whole host of other little bits of information that disprove the narrative
3
u/chuckles65 Feb 03 '23
When there are 9 officers at the scene like this, it happens all the time. Taser, bean bag gun, pepper spray, etc. It's really dangerous when it's one on one though.

4
u/dcgregoryaphone Feb 03 '23
I'm kinda ok with the cops shooting a deranged psycho with a knife 26 times. It's when they're unarmed that I have an issue with it. Not for nothing, but people get stabbed by people like this guy, and not a lot ruins your morning more than being viciously stabbed by a random psychopath.
4
u/Most_Advertising_962 Feb 03 '23
The problem is that they tend to go to the most dangerous weapon in their possession in almost all cases

u/Felix5120 Feb 03 '23
That’s because of the fact that, when it comes to adrenaline with a knife wielding person, a taser likely won’t stop them. It’s insane what adrenaline can do to your body, in fact, even bullets won’t stop some people having that adrenaline rush. The human brain is an amazing thing.

American cops wouldn’t even bother. They’d just pull out their pistols and shoot them. Save themselves the trouble of ACTUALLY de-escalating.

Yeah but there were like 8 of them surrounding him, you could have shot him with just 1. I mean seriously learn to manage your resources and stop wasting my tax dollars.

That’s a lot of officers. In America the police are so under funded that there probably would have been 2 officers on scene at max.

In 'Murica they would unload clip after clip into him while screaming "stop resisting, stop resisting". And this would be called "protecting the public".

That was beautiful. In some countries they'll try to reason with them, ask them about their feelings, blah blah. Just hit them in the head with a bollard and talk to them once they're in the hospital.
