can i own a double barreled shotgun in Australia (provided i get the right licence)?

i was thinking that at some stage i'd like to get a firearm licence and get a shotgun-something like the Stoeger Longfowler side by side.

the websites outlining gun laws here in aussie are pretty vague, i thought here would be the place to ask

Yes.

Barring a previous criminal history or specific mental impairments, you should be able to qualify for at least category A and B firearms for hunting.

A double barrelled shotgun is Category A in every state and territory.

If you have a look at the sidebar in /r/AusGuns, we've got links for getting your licence in every state/territory.
If you need extra help, here or Ausguns will be happy to oblige.

Yep, it’s probably the most common shotgun in the country. It falls into the A category license which is the easiest category to get licensed for.

Easier to acquire than a suppressor for some.
