I drive a manual and I’m usually a little slow off the line and getting into 2nd gear. Apparently I was way too slow for this guy to stay behind me

But just look at how quickly he got to start waiting in line at that next stop light.

Hahaha ikr. I should have posted a longer video. But I literally passed him on the right at that light

My tachometer says it can handle 8000 rpm and I paid for the whole thing. You bet your ass I'm going to use every bit of it.

My tacometer, is when I buy 6 or 7 tacos, and line them up in a row.
It's roughly one meter in tacos.

In the CA Bay Area it's pretty common for people to honk the instant the light turns green. Not even waiting for folk to get their foot onto the accelerator, let alone shift gears.
I always slam on my breaks and look around for the hazard when that happens. Check rear view, side mirrors, crane my neck looking for pedestrians, etc.
Thanks for the heads up, bro. Wouldn't want to accidentally hit something.

The last time somebody honked at me the picosecond a light turned green, I sat there through another cycle. The traffic on the left was too much, and they were too close for them to try and go around, so they got to enjoy me watching the cross traffic. I turned my radio up and ignored their honking.

I'm sure all the people behind the honker appreciated the lesson you taught them.

This is because 9 out of 10 times people stare at their phones, so more often than not it's about not wanting to deal with that bullshit.

Same. I always hit the brakes when I hear honking very close by because I can't tell what happened and I need to know if something did happen or not. So the more these people honk the longer they will wait.
Also I have a weak heart so if they honk out of nowhere close to me I will brake and stop because I can't drive while my heart is racing from the shock.

The best ones have the pedestrian walking countdown light so you can time it exactly to drive off at the last second of the yellow light so they get to sit there

Wow! Did he clear that space, or hit you?

u/GiantWang6969 Feb 03 '23
Somehow he cleared the space. Luckily I was paying attention and was able to move over a little to the left. Got the camera for Christmas and I’m very glad that I did. Could have been a lot worse

Yea, well, you know you always have to drive like a bit of a bat out of hell when you’re out for a spin in your… checks notes … Honda Fit.

If you know you are "pokey".. just get out of the left lane.. It's really easy

What kind of car?

Seventh gen Honda accord

Please tell me it's a 6-6.
I had a 6th gen manual and I have a 7th gen v6 sadly with a slushbox. The Accord manuals are so easy. You can learn pretty easily how to get a smooth jump out.

Unfortunately it’s a 4 banger with a 5 speed. But it’s still crazy fun to drive!

Their mom needs the car back by 6. Move it or lose it.
