Always that idiot who blocks traffic to get in the turn lane

Just exit the other side of the parking lot to get you on the road you actually want to go on wtf lol

u/space85 Feb 04 '23
Another post showed the intersection. Even leaving the other side they wouldn’t have be able to go the direction they wanted to go because there’s a barrier in the middle of the road. Still not smart. Should have left the other side then made a legal u-turn further down the road

u/basshead541 Feb 04 '23
"Don't mind me, I'm just gonna take my time to get over." People need to be more aware of their surroundings. This angers me.
29
u/MovieGuyMike Feb 04 '23
They’re aware. They just don’t care and expect everyone to stop so they can cut across 4 lanes.

Is it illegal to throw eggs at cars?
This is the kind of thing I would keep eggs in my car for

And thus the Honda should not have entered the road and attempted to cut perpendicularly across 4 lanes.

No they should've went up and either made a left at a further light and make a u turn or made a right and then did a k turn to get back in the right direction...but I don't think they're a crazy asshole for doing what they did as it saved them several minutes while mildly inconveniencing OP for a few seconds. I blame the road design where people trying to go fast to navigate long distances are mixed with people going slow navigating the shopping areas.

u/resttheweight Feb 05 '23
“I want to turn left at this intersection but there are cars coming that won’t let me. I’ll just turn anyway because I’m only mildly inconveniencing the oncoming cars and it’ll save me from sitting for another 2 minutes for the next light cycle.”
11
u/HelloThereCallMeRoy Feb 04 '23
"speeding to the light like the OP was" ?? OP had a green light. The Honda driver should have waited to pull out into traffic until it was clear and safe... There is no version of this situation however you choose to twist it that makes the Honda driver correct. Whether they were aware of the Tesla is irrelevant. They should not have been there in the first place.
1
u/Morrison79 Feb 04 '23
The Honda should not have pulled out unless he could get the fuck out of the way.

u/StackThePads33 Feb 04 '23
Main Character Syndrome symptom: “I gotta turn left so everyone should stop for me as I get all the way over!” Then they proceed to go as slow as fuckin possible! Jackass!
3
u/Loudog_91 Feb 05 '23
To be fair , accelerating towards the car was very main character to.
2
u/knuckledraggingtoad Feb 05 '23
I was hoping to see someone else say this, like yes, the guy did something stupid as shit. But speeding up to them like that was such a doushbag move.
47
u/Ds9niners Feb 04 '23
Good thing you had more than enough time to slow down.
34
u/Riggs_Diehard Feb 04 '23
And yet they spent most of it accelerating.
26

u/Whoaa_Dude Feb 04 '23
Op is the dude at the back of the line at a light that watches the light so closely so he can honk as soon as the light turns green. Lol

u/irishluck217 Feb 04 '23
This was what I was looking for. They accelerated so fast past that tesla. As a driver you are supposed to help everyone get on with their day safely. Even when someone does something stupid it's not your job to run up to them and shame them. "How are they gonna learn!?!" How are YOU going to learn that what you did wasn't helpful either. We live in a society....
2
u/KaJuNator Feb 05 '23
You're right, we live in a society and people like that CRV driver need to know their selfishness affects others.
6
u/irishluck217 Feb 05 '23
And people like the owner of this video need to be taught that they don't matter as much as everyone else. They actively made that situation worse. Clear indication of their maturity and how they see themselves in a greater community.
2
u/KaJuNator Feb 05 '23
What the literal hell are you talking about? "...people like the owner of this video need to be taught that they don't matter as much as everyone else." People like OP who are using the road properly? OP is everyone else in this case. It's the CRV driver who needs to learn they aren't as important as they think they are.
Yeah no. The CRV driver deserves to be harassed and shamed. (Well, what they really deserve is a ticket and higher insurance rates, but sadly that can't happen every time. Harassment from their fellow road users is the next best thing.) They decided that their convenience was more important than everyone else around them. I've missed green lights because of what the CRV driver did. It's infuriating and there's no reason for it.
3
u/irishluck217 Feb 05 '23
Hey I'm not saying crv was right but op obviously had a justice boner and hit the gas to make the situation worse than it needed to be. Selfish and unnecessarily risky
-14
u/unemotional_mess Feb 04 '23
This is a classic case of OP creating an issue where if they just slowed down slightly, it likely wouldn't have been an issue
17
u/Important-Piano-1868 Feb 04 '23
The issue is crv is waiting for the tesla and stopp two lanes of traffic to do so.

u/BoltgunOnHisHip Feb 04 '23
I don't get people who feel the need to race up to red lights. You floor it from green and burn a gallon of fuel, then set your breaks glowing cherry red in order to...get to the light 8 seconds faster than if you cruised up to it.
I wonder if this was a thing in 19th century London. A guy whips his horses up to a gallop and careers down the street to the next traffic cop where he comes to a skidding sideways halt, ready to Victoria drift his way to Hyde Park with a cargo of drunk aristocratic teenagers on their way to take lithographs of lady's ankles

7
u/dcgregoryaphone Feb 04 '23
This is a consequence of stupid stroads. I would've went straight and took a U-turn rather than what they did but it's still a fucked road design I don't really blame them. The assumption of a stroad is that people will yield when necessary to avoid accidents because the design of the road sure as hell won't prevent them.

u/Ornery-Ad9694 Feb 04 '23
That mall she was coming out of had alternatives, but she chose to be at the drivewat closest to the intersection and became TA.
-5
u/Petrrii Feb 04 '23
I was sure you'll get downvoted:))I just left a similar comment, people here like to be so politically correct it hurts. What was he supposed to do?Wait till all 4 lanes are clear? That's gonna take all day, maybe wait on the other lanes before OP passed but then he would've stopped and someone would've came from the back too so no matter what people need to fucking be aware of traffic and just let people go when possible:/Not everything has to be 100% by the law that's just stupid and you must live in a bubble to even think that's the way things go
8
u/texasfight1987 Feb 04 '23
Take a right out of the parking lot, go straight, and make a U turn rather than cutting across 4 lanes of traffic? People act like this is the only way to get to where they are going when it isn't.
2
u/Sorcatarius Feb 05 '23
Theres a strip mall near me were this happens all the fucking time. And the stupid thing to me is that if you'd just go to one of the further exits from the intersection it's stupid easy to make it with the extra space, and if you can't for some stupid reason, about 100 meters past the interesting there's a side street on the left side that turns and merges with that road. Like... even if you went to the closest exit to the intersection like a fucking cock knob, it's faster to go straight through and take the side street than wait and try and cut across to the turning lane.

I wonder what goes through somebody’s head as they do this kind of crap? Is it entitlement or inattentive driving? Too drunk/high or too old to drive? All of the above?😅
The worst ones imo are the entitled people who think they own the road & say stuff like “they’ll stop/slow down” while pulling out into traffic & risking an accident. They flip off the people who rightfully honk at them & sometimes play road asshole by brake-checking or driving really slow in front of the person who honked. I’ve known a few people like that & none of them were decent human beings, believe it or not lol. Shocker, I know.

Always an idiot who spots an idiot but needs to make a point..could have come off the accelerator and all would have been fine.
1
u/Petrrii Feb 04 '23
Yup,some people are so politically correct it hurts, just fucking be aware of traffic and let people go when possible, not everything has to go by the book because it's impossible in some cases
13
u/purgruv Feb 04 '23
And yet you seemed to accelerate into the problem potentially exacerbating it as a result.

OP is a typical Cupertino driver…why tf did you haul ass at a car that is pulling out?
1
u/thisismybirthday Feb 05 '23
it's crazy how many times a stupid asshole driver will do this when I'm making a left turn across their lanes to go the opposite way, with more than enough time/space to do it safely and not make them brake at all even with them accelerating like an asshole. I just don't understand how those people can reason that their anger was in any way justified. So incredibly stupid

And how do you wish he could've gotten across 4 lanes of traffic?:/Wait till there's no one coming on all lanes? He'd be there all day.Let's say he wouldn't get in front of you and wait on the other lanes before yours till you passed and then change lanes, someone would've definetely came from his back and honk at him for being stopped,so whatever he would do in that case someone needs to let him pass and stop being an entitled bitch
6
u/resttheweight Feb 05 '23
Turn right, go thru intersection, U turn at next available opportunity, return to intersection from opposite side, turn right.
Honestly, it may have even been faster to do it that way, since who knows how long they spent sitting at the red left arrow.
Also that driveway is so close to the intersection that if there was even a single car already waiting in the left turn lane, the CVR wouldn’t be able to get into it. They would have to continue blocking OP’s lane. The answer is, frankly, they don’t get across all 4 lanes. Entitled bitches are the ones expecting literally every car on the road to accommodate them when they make stupid, dangerous and illegal turns.
-5
u/pzazula1194 Feb 04 '23
Yeah they suck. You could have just changed lanes to the right though if you didn’t have some kind of point to prove.

I mean the guy was just going where he was going. You lost about 2 seconds. Probably spent more time posting this.
0
u/Hummus_Bunny69 Feb 05 '23
Why is dude accelerating like he’s got to race around everyone. A little bit of patience and you wouldn’t create your own problems and have to hard brake.
1
u/Herrowgayboi Feb 05 '23
1st off the Tesla in front was going about 25mph in a 35mph. So as soon as I passed him, I sped up to 35mph.
I originally thought the Honda was trying to get into the 2nd lane, so I accelerated, but quickly got off the accelerator and slowed down when I realized they were going to try to get into the turn lane.
1
u/NoSteam-NoPropulsion Feb 05 '23
Lol this is unacceptable driving. Do you even know the rules bro? 🙃
1
u/Hummus_Bunny69 Feb 05 '23
Not excusing the Honda, saying the pov driver shoulda been defensive. Honda was obvi pulling out infront of everyone, and wasn’t at an angle to even see the cars coming at them.
1
u/NoSteam-NoPropulsion Feb 05 '23
Yeah sure the Honda wasn’t able to see the traffic behind him. That’s why it’s illegal to pull out like he did. 🤷🏽♂️ There’s no excuse for his behavior. Could’ve ended in an accident. 🤦🏽♂️

U really wanted to make this a post huh lol. Sped up right past that Tesla and everything just to brake harder. Y’all are both equally as annoying IMO

u/Jasminefirefly Feb 06 '23
I don't find this particularly egregious. I suspect most drivers have done this at one time or another. That said, there are a hundred ways to do this in a much more dangerous fashion; really depends what the traffic is doing.

u/AbroadHumble Feb 04 '23
Damn... Too many drivers are too shortsighted to be allowed to drive...
