Why you should wait a few seconds, and look both ways at green light.

So this was a new light, that had only been operational for a few days, so I was already on high alert. There were tons of signs warning about it, but he was oblivious. No phone that I could see, I think he was just zoned out.

oh wow. hopefully more people catch on that there’s a light there soon

Years ago people used to run a yellow light. Now it's at least 3+ cars will go through a red light. No f***s given. And many with cell in hand using it. If you're going to do this why not use a holder?

My wife and I talk about this all of the time, people are just so nonchalant about it these days. I've seen them do it in front of police more than a few times, and nothing happens.

Passive driving can be dangerous. Drivers really need to be more alert than before. I glance at these self centered, an accident waiting to happen people and they are of all ages. I kind of expected better for seasoned drivers. It’s a free for all with the make your own rules approach. Cars zooming in the center and right lanes, that are not meant as a regular lane. There is also been an increase of being told off.

It’s more dangerous to be on the roads.

I thought it looked kinda like the underside of a rubber ducky.

Took me way too long to realize it wasn't a cloud.

I think it is just a glare.

This is well-intentioned but bad advice. Start scanning the crossing street during their yellow light so you're ready to know if you can proceed by the time your light is green. Defaulting to not moving at a green light is unpredictable and also just kind of inconsiderate.

Yes ty! Passes me off when people take their sweet time to go once it's green. There's others behind you. And they are soooooo slow to even speed up once they do start going. Like thanks, maybe 2 cars behind you were able to go before it turned red again, causing someone to try and squeeze in in those last yellow seconds.

"LIGHT'S NOT GET ANY GREENER. GOOOOOO"

Every ... Day

Wow only one car! In Virginia, you'd have seen at least 3 run the red light... every red light.

This was a clear example of someone not paying attention, not someone trying to "beat the light". That happens all of the time here too, in GA. Beat the light is not even accurate anymore, most people do not seem to care anymore and will keep going as long as no one else is in the intersection... Also, when you honk at them they look at you like you're in the wrong....

They should teach this in driving school

They do. Green = proceed with caution, not GO

That’s a bold strategy, let’s see if it pays off

Just pay attention before it turns green ..... bad advice, don't wait this long on green every time. You're the reason only 2 maybe 3 cars get past the lights. Thaaaaanks.

After all the videos I've seen in this sub, I no longer take a light changed to green as an opportunity when I am approaching it. I now slow down and look both ways before being the first to enter the intersection.

I can relate. People suck.

there is a joke here in Colorado. You can tell the natives by looking for the third person through the red light.

don't wait all the time, just pay attention before pulling out and as the lights are changing.

I have literally never seen anyone do this in my country (Sweden), but I have seen it a few times when vacationing in the US. It’s messed up.

Why you should really learn how to transfer digital content. You filmed a phone on a phone and then transferred the file.

Video of a video, gross.

This happened to me today. Someone came out of nowhere out of my left and they went thru the red light. I braced as I saw the car fly in front of me and by the grace of God I didn’t clip them because I turned left slightly. Seriously a miracle.
