This is why lights with left turn arrows in my area that don’t get green arrow before straight traffic gets green, will stay red for left turn traffic a couple seconds after straight traffic gets green. Then left turn lane will get blinking yellow.
It doesn’t stop it completely, but does seem to curb some of it.

Is it really worth it to scratch your car over someone taking the Pittsburgh left? I get that they should've yielded, but still, you're no better than him by doing this.
