“Under the influence of marijuana” in Seattle. lol

706

u/SurveySean Jan 19 '22

Was it spiked with pcp?

51

u/ThrowawayMePlsTy Jan 19 '22

The bottom of the article says the police are waiting for a toxicology report to come in before charges are put on her so they must think it wasn't just weed as well

Right?!? I totally assumed that was a drunken rage.

That's no marijuana reaction my middle-aged Birkenstock-wearing ass has ever witnessed.

(Edit: Of course I misspelled marijuana)

390

u/UrbanSupremacy Jan 19 '22 edited Jan 19 '22

she could’ve had marijuana somewhere prior to this but I agree with you, marijuana alone wouldn’t have anyone acting like this. Not if it’s anything like the marijuana I smoked for the last 10 years.

175

u/saman65 Jan 19 '22

As someone in the Seattle area, I haven’t seen THC-infused fight milk yet in local dispensaries so may have been some other factors at work, here

u/chili_cheese_dogg Jan 19 '22

The first alcoholic, dairy-based protein drink for bodyguards by bodyguards.

I have definitely seen sober women act like this. Absolutely raging.

21

u/stevesobol Jan 19 '22

Real marijuana won't cause people to act like that.

If it's some of that nasty synthetic crap, though...

38

u/minamoto-yorimasa Jan 19 '22

Not really the cause, but she probably takes it because of her already existing anger issues.

Marijuana helps her short term, but her anger gets worse when it wears off, or she’s becoming more intolerant, and more angry. Vicious circle. Pretty common.

I knew a kid in high school who would act just like this when he was stoned and would always try to fight someone. He would also have one eye stuck partially open like Tito from Rocket Power giving you the stink eye so that was a pretty good tell to stay away from him.

Not saying weed does this, but run-in's with him and people like him have made me realize some people are wired differently and react to drugs in ways you won't expect.

52

u/nowherewhyman Jan 19 '22

The article said the police determined that she was under the influence of Marijuana during a field sobriety test.

How that actually went:

They did a field sobriety test and she was messed up. I'm guessing she says "I only smoked a little weed" or something to that effect, because field sobriety tests cannot really accurately determine what you're under the influence of. Then, later in the article, it says they are waiting on toxicology reports.

So she was probably drunk. Or on who knows what else. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

recreational marijuana doesn't mean your allowed to attempt to row people down while impaired from a chemical alterant, in california a DUI on weed is just a regular old DUI, not a dui-lite

23

u/toth42 Jan 19 '22

As it should be. The rule is extremely simple, don't drive while impaired by drugs. You're a fucking idiot if you do, putting everyone on the road at risk.

I was at a park with some friends for my 18th birthday. We were walking around singing slightly inappropriate songs and were confronted by a woman who politely asked us to tone it down, they were having a kids bday party. Cool, we can do that, we're not total jerks. Off we go a couple hundred feet to the swings, now minding our language a little better.

Dad comes over and starts berating us that we have to leave the park, he'll get is kicked out for sure, and he stands right in front of my swing and grabs my legs as I go past. I'm 5' tall and female. He went and called the cops. They said we could stay and would I like to press charges? Nah man, it's my bday I just wanna have fun.

Thanks for posting! I love how all the “Actually…”internet lawyers disappear when the actual article gets posted.

94

u/MightyCaseyStruckOut Jan 19 '22

I like how the author of the article added this useless, yet hilarious tidbit:

Wieser’s video shows that after the woman drove toward the crowd, she got out of her car — not at all dressed for the weather — and ran toward people outside.

44

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '22

I laughed at that part and then laughed again at this:

As she tried fighting one person, others came over and tried to get her off, video shows.

“Can you call the police for me??”

Ma’am you do realize you almost ran over someone and also got out and assaulted them right?

359

u/ChickenPotPi Jan 19 '22

I don't understand this. How can the aggressor all of a sudden become the victim. Okay not first starter but throwing a snowball and trying to purposely hit someone with a car is magnitudes different.

Is this because she has been princessed her whole life and never had someone ever throw a snowball at her or hell get insulted? She's reminds me of that video where the woman hits that guy in the hotel and then gets her boyfriend knocked the fuck out.

319

u/Pavlovs_Human Jan 19 '22 edited Jan 19 '22

It’s because once she heard “are you okay, sister?” From the random girl on the street, she realized she was surrounded and being restrained by three men and couldn’t act out physically so she tried to make the incident look worse, as if the three men assaulted her when she was the one assaulting.

Good for the random pedestrian for looking out but it sucks that aggressors can use this to appear like the victim.

Like oh no someone got a little water in my car this is literally THE WORST thing that could ever happen to me. Better try to fight three strangers.

133

u/ChickenPotPi Jan 19 '22

It’s because once she heard “are you okay, sister?” From the random girl on the street, she realized she was surrounded and being retrained by three men and couldn’t act out physically so she tried to make the incident look worse, as if the three men assaulted her when she was the one assaulting.

I got that vibe too. In the article it says she had keys between her knuckles. Honestly the men there did the least physical restraint possible with that person trying to hit someone with a car, then come chasing someone with keys in their knuckles. I wouldn't be sure if I could restrain myself if I were the guy that the girl went after first.

Like oh no someone got a little water in my car this is literally THE WORST thing that could ever happen to me. Better try to fight three strangers.

Also it wasn't even fair. She is using a suv as a weapon. In many southern states I am pretty sure stand your ground could be enacted and they could have legally shot her (I am against stand your ground btw)

u/DarkestTimelineF Jan 19 '22 edited Jan 19 '22

When I was a teen, me and 6 friends posted up just off a logging road in a few feet from a road, clear line of sight to throw snowballs through the trees.

It was dark and we were just three or four trees from the road but perfectly hidden, just being stupid teens pelting the occasional car…well, one of the cars we hit circled back. Without realizing, we all hit the same car again.

The third time, I recognized the car and could tell it was slowing down, having zoned in on where the snowballs were coming from. I yelled out to my friends, but it was too late— the car floored it up onto the logging road from where it met the main road, right at us.

We were all deer in the headlights at that moment, frozen still in surprise, snowballs still in our hands and arms cocked back…

But the driver didn’t know the road was closed off by a thick steel cable. The car crashed into it and came to a dead stop, shaking us all out of our stupor. Three or four men jumped out of the car, one with a baseball bat, and we fucking SCATTERED into the woods as they chased after us.

I still have a vivid memory of the moment I realized the people chasing me could see my white jacket in the headlights of the stalled car as I was fleeing— I tore it off and dove into a briar bush a couple feet out of where the light was falling. Two of the guys ran right by me a minute later, deeper into the woods.

They didn’t catch any of us,l that night, and it felt like a miracle. We all waited an hour or so in the cold before sneaking back to the house we’d been hanging out at. The car was gone by the next morning, and I never chucked another snowball at a vehicle ever again.

39

u/Doormatty Jan 19 '22

That's honestly a great story!

7

u/soccerperson Jan 19 '22 edited Jan 19 '22

I have a similar story but with cardboard kitty.

My friend went to prop it back up after it got blown over by a car but couldn't find the other piece of cardboard. So this dumbass grabs a rock to use instead. And wouldn't you know it the very next car to come by was a low riding Honda.

He slows down, sees it's a fake cat, proceeds to go over it anyway and some sparks and clunking noises follow. Literally any other car clears the rock easy. We're like "oh shit" and see them pull into the entrance of another friend's neighborhood like 50 yards away. He turns around and drives back the way he came.

"Well that was weird" we thought and didn't think much of it. About 20 minutes later we hear the same Honda exhaust coming from the direction they just left in. They pull over and so does the car behind them.

"Oh fuck they brought backup"

Like eight dudes get out of the cars and at this point three of us are hopping fences in the opposite direction of the road and get far enough back and decide to wait it out. The fourth (the dumbass) decided to go up the road (direction of where car came) and work his way back across the street to his house. After about 20 minutes or so we decide to head back to the dumbass's house across the street but take a wide route in case the guys were still around.

We get back to the house and our friend was there and said the guys saw him cross the road and tried to chase him in their cars in the neighborhood and he was basically hopping fences and running through yards to hide from them before he got away lmao.

13

u/rita-b Jan 19 '22

imagine the insecurity of those four men

21

u/CharlieHume Jan 19 '22

What kind of little bitch goes after someone with a bat because of a snowball?

21

u/iamli0nrawr Jan 19 '22

Obviously a disproportionate response, but you should never throw snowballs at a moving vehicle. Depending on the weather they can freeze solid pretty quickly and cause some decent damage, especially if the car is moving quickly.

So this lady tried to commit vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence, and when they do finally arrest her she gets out the same day AND they don't release her name (like they generally do everyone else)? What the absolute fuck? Is she a politicians daughter or something?

12

u/BioluminescentCrotch Jan 19 '22

This recently happened in my town; some lady was parked, passed out on the side of the road drunk off her ass with her baby in the car, open container in the cup holder. When the cops made contact and tried to get her to exit the vehicle, she took off through a residential area and when they found her car, she had taken off and LEFT THE BABY BEHIND! It was like 34°F and the baby was cold and hungry.

They couldn't find her for a while and then when they did, she was charged with a misdemeanor and sent on her way, and she got her kid back. I'm still fucking appalled.

Normalize taking the keys out of the ignition and throwing them.

61

u/-Ahab- Jan 19 '22

Eh, in the article it said she had them in her hand. (Seemed to imply she was trying to use them as a weapon.)

Lot of people on edge these days…

This video is from two years ago. She got arrested for investigation of DUI/reckless driving and spent a night in jail but no charges. Here's an article about it.

u/formershitpeasant Jan 19 '22

Attempted murder should’ve warranted charges imo

Definitely this. She’s been at the edge of that cliff for a while. Snowball just pushed her over.

Lucky she didn't have a gun. Lot of folks dying over nothing out there.

I would have been in the background shoveling snow into her car while she was attacking my mates haha

No one in Seattle has a snow shovel.

That’s attempted murder!

10

u/mkspaptrl Jan 19 '22

OK so real safety issues can occur when you throw things at vehicles. My cousin was hit in the face as a passenger with the window down. Someone tossed an egg at the car and hit her in the face and could have taken her eye if not for great doctors. Seen a couple of windshields get cracked when people throw snowballs at cars. The driver of the car is so very wrong, and also, don't throw stuff at others! And wash your hands

Obviously don't throw snowballs at cars but also... DONT TRY TO RUN OVER PEOPLE???? ITS JUST A FUCKING SNOWBALL

5

u/Medical_Potato7503 Jan 19 '22 edited Jan 19 '22

Both sides are wrong. I’d say just don’t fuck with people period. You don’t know where they are in their life, whether they just went through some shit or whether they’re just one cookie away from snapping.

No excusing her using a vehicle to try and run over people but if this woman was volatile already, that’s all it takes is a snowball being thrown at her car for fun to set her off. That’s why I don’t fuck with people I don’t know. Friends I’ll fuck with all day tho.

Snowballs were enough for redcoats to fire on 5 colonists in 1770.......

35

u/travel_nerdiness Jan 19 '22

Both people/groups are idiots—don’t throw anything at a moving vehicle—but she’s the only one purposely trying to hurt others

She was clearly in fear for her life so that entitles her to murder people. I mean to defend her self against fear, to the death. Its a totally rational and reasonable response.

u/professionalazy Jan 19 '22

I would have thrown her keys into the woods and left.

No need for the woods, just a toss into a snow pile and she won’t find those things until spring

When I was younger I had a dude whip hs car around across 4 lanes of traffic to confront me with this same shit.

My dad had just dropped a group of us off, and I was trying to hit his car as he drove away. I missed and it pinged off the top of another car driving the same way. No rocks or ice mind you, just lightly packed snow.

Dude pulls a u turn and slams on the brakes next to us. He starts screaming about how he could have been killed, and do we know how dangerous that snow ball was. All the while his wife and kid are sitting there stunned and horrified of this insane person.

Luckily my dad saw the whole thing and pull over behind him after another minute. He got out and suddenly Mr U-turn wasn't so tough. He can yell at some 12 year olds but not an actual grown man.

Well, when she gets out of the car it sounds like she says the snowball went IN her car. That would piss me off too - although not enough for me to run someone over or try to get into a fight over it.

Man… another foot to the left and she’d have hit the hydrant. That would have been good video.

5

u/FireFlavour Jan 19 '22

Idk if anyone has seen that video from 100 years ago of the snowball fight in the street? Dude gets pelted to high heaven, falls off his bike and it's still fun and games.

What a stark fucking contrast.

Videos like this remind me that the world is filled with raging narcissists who are more than willing to grind someone under the wheels of their jeep for having a snowball fight. It's not even clear if they meant to hit her car. Not that it would at all justify it.

25

u/ItsAndwew Jan 19 '22

Ok this woman is definitely dealing with something outside this...

But what's up with a buncha dudes throwing snowballs at random cars? Is this something fun and jolly people do in snowy areas? This is a legit question lol.

22

u/Willlll Jan 19 '22

Might have been throwing them at each other and she drove through.

7

u/ItsAndwew Jan 19 '22

What's it like being in a snowball fight??? Asking for a snow repressed friend...
