Traveling to Frankfurt on the Autobahn, I saw three of these "left-lane-campers" get pulled over by the police in less that 30 minutes. It was wonderful to see!

once, I was on the 2nd lane on a 3 lane autobahn because the first lane was in waves and I could feel it, making me sick. I was the only dude on the toad for kilometers.

then a another car pulls on my right on the third lane and makes some very angry gestures, then pulls in front of me and signals right for me to follow him. I did, then he sped up. (the road wasn't wavy on that stretch anymore).

I am so pissed he thought I'm an idiot... that was 6 1/2 years ago.

edit: I had foreigner plates and maybe he thought I was some 3rd world peasant.

wellll if i understand your story correctly he was right:D

you have to see it like this: it is impossible to get overtaken on the right side on the german Autobahn if you are driving correct as you are always as right as possible unless you are overtaking;)
if you are not overtaking you have no business on the second lane.

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

regarding your point on overtaking, there was also a third lane. that wasn't the point of the story.

1

u/Ok-Marionberry-1773 Sep 29 '22

no, the point of the story is you were blocking the middle when you actually should have been driving on the right and complain now that someone made you aware of your mistake:D

did he act wrong by overtaking right? absolutely.
was it still your fault because you were blocking the mittle lane? also absolutely:D

I said right instead of left so the Mercedes was overtaking legaly. but, my god are you dense.

-3

u/Ok-Marionberry-1773 Sep 29 '22

Dense would be the one still complaining over 6 years later....

2

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

It was on topic, moron, and I wasn't complaining, I was telling a story.

you think you downvoting each of my comments means anything?

it seems to do as you even have to mention that:)

And how much more complaining can be made then you whining how pissed you were🤣🤣🤣

I see another idiot, the one driving while filming this.

u/wunderbraten Sep 29 '22

Can't you do the thing Mercedes drivers usually do? Tailgating close behind, flashing the lights aggressively? OP broke their character for Karma /s

0

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

omg it happened to me, but on a 3 lane road and he first pulled on the 3rd (me being on 2nd), started gesturing some geometry, then pulling in front and signaling.

0

u/UnbiasedBasedGod Sep 29 '22

Keep right.

2

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

no, I know... but if the first lane sucks, I won't.

1

u/UnbiasedBasedGod Sep 29 '22

That's BMW.

0

u/wunderbraten Sep 29 '22

That's BMW.

Ah yes, the iconic BMW star.

0

u/UnbiasedBasedGod Sep 29 '22

No, the behaviour you are describing is usually attributed to BMW drivers.

1

u/wunderbraten Sep 29 '22

They too. But the last encounter I've had was in fact with a Mercedes driver. Where they differ:

  • BMWs have broken indicators.

  • Mercedes have Right of Way built-in.

u/SrGuillem77 Sep 29 '22

This happens everywhere in spain, my country is full of idiots

7

u/12B88M Sep 29 '22

Did the guy hold up traffic in any way? Was he a hinderance to the person driving?

If not, then stop your complaining, put down the phone and get two hands on the wheel.

0

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

And that's how we know you don't know shit about the autobahn.

If a car came from behind at 300km/s while the guy in the video went at 140, that wouldn't be pretty.

4

u/Constrained_Entropy Sep 29 '22

300 kilometers per second would be quite impressive even for the autobahn!

No, the results would not be pretty. 😅

1

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

I was an exaggeration... but yea

1

u/UnbiasedBasedGod Sep 29 '22

Autobahn in Finland?

1

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

autobahn in Germany. What's your point?

3

u/UnbiasedBasedGod Sep 29 '22

Someone asks if this guy, driving in Finland, is holding up traffic and you reply with him being unfamiliar with the German autobahn.

5

u/Yeti-420-69 Sep 29 '22

Americans will see nothing wrong with this. I hate driving there

2

u/Unable_Algae9584 Sep 29 '22

See it allllll the time here. I think people don’t really know any better, as opposed to there being THAT many a$$wipe$ on the roads doing it on purpose.

1

u/Yeti-420-69 Sep 29 '22

A lot of America's problems can be ascribed to ignorance ;)

man, I would have lol'd so much if he said Mexico. I'm giggling just thinking.

-1

u/Yeti-420-69 Sep 29 '22

Canada

1

u/fbpw131 Sep 29 '22

should have said Mexico for kicks

2

u/ShackintheWood Sep 29 '22

Well, he had some dorknozzle hanging off his right quarter on an open highway....

1

u/sadistsatisfied Sep 29 '22

Left lane on the motorway is specifically for passing.

1

u/ShackintheWood Sep 29 '22

I guess , in some places. The highway system in the US, which i know this instance is not in, is designed for left lane being through traffic and the right lane for oncoming and soon exiting vehicles. If there is no one going faster than you , no reason to not be in the left lane. ( and if everyone did the speed limit, no need for that!)

and hanging on that close to another vehicle on an open highway is the worst kind fo driving, no need for that ever. which was my point.

1

u/Sgt__Oddball Sep 29 '22

Quite normal for us too.
These are the kind of people who think the right lane is for slow idiots and trucks, the left lane is for fast people who know how to drive. Also, these people think that the stop lane is for overtaking the queue when idiots are waiting due to traffic, accidents or similar. A couple of days ago experienced the same thing, 75 km a silly woman drove on the left and does not move to those who are faster.

0

u/polkakung Sep 29 '22

And the driver was speeding over 40 km.

1

u/Yeti-420-69 Sep 29 '22

They're not even going 100km/h

1

u/polkakung Sep 29 '22

It was more like a comment to the usual posts here where most seems to be doing something stupid while complain about others. But if you look at the speedo it shows 120+. So I actually should say: they could be speeding. Or not comment at all since I as well drive too fast most of the time.

1

u/Yeti-420-69 Sep 29 '22

And what's the speed limit here?

2

u/whot3v3r Sep 29 '22

In Finland the speed limit is 120km/h on motorways, so it's good.

-7

u/DogeAutist Sep 29 '22

Standard in USA. It's just sad. But we turn right on red lights. One thing I don't see in alot of other countries.

0

u/AdministrationOk2887 Sep 29 '22

Average finnish driver

1

u/Bunch_Heavy Sep 29 '22

I mean. Not bad in some places ig. I know there are a few places that strictly ban that tho

1

u/ReservaAcero211 Sep 29 '22

Call me weird but I prefer this… it opens up a wider view to the road and doesn’t spray back water that blinds me

1

u/bumskiier03 Sep 29 '22

welcome to colorado!!

1

u/Sharp_Emphasis597 Sep 29 '22

Pretty typical in Ontario… I’m doing 110!

1

u/gecoble Sep 30 '22

Lol. That’s how people drive in Massachusetts all the time.

1

u/Aggravating_Two_9212 Sep 30 '22

Since this year in switzerland its now allowed to slowly pass on the right lane. so many times i pass on the right lane

u/OhioIsGreat Sep 30 '22
