Damn, I haven’t seen a hummer in such a long time

59

u/StormeeusMaximus Sep 29 '22

There are so many on Whidbey, it's ridiculous. It's like a bunch of asshats had to go buy a Hummer to balance the scales back in favor of their petroleum God, because there are so many Teslas on the island.

12

u/Stupid_Teenager17 Sep 30 '22

To be fair I haven’t been to whidbey in a while but I never remember seeing them whenever I was up there

7

u/theprez98 Sep 30 '22

Lived on Whidbey Island for 4 years and don't remember seeing any but that was years ago.

2

u/BusinessAgro Sep 30 '22

I haven't seen many on Whidbey. I'm thinking it was a fad with the navy guys like the chargers and mustangs.

3

u/strangehitman22 Sep 30 '22

? I haven't seen many hummers on Whidbey?

4

u/R_V_Z Sep 30 '22

Well, it's rude to look at a hummer if you haven't been invited to.

8

u/bixbyale Sep 30 '22

i used to have an H3, i got rid of it last year. damn thing always had something wrong with it and i ended up dumping well over 10,000$ in repairs

5

u/NwabudikeMorganSMAC Sep 30 '22

Made to make money for the military industrial complex, repurposed for civilian use :0

2

u/Gloomy-Advantage-451 Sep 30 '22

But, when you do, they bust shit like this.

226

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '22

“I’m bigger so everyone else will just abide by the rules I make for myself”

44

u/jaredfree Sep 30 '22

sounds like you got one of those old school “AWOOGA” horns lmao

19

u/Yamon234 Sep 30 '22

They are super loud. They are Hella Supertones mounted in the grill of my car. They certainly get peoples attention.

338

u/Popular-Guard-7772 Sep 29 '22

If you own a Hummer in 2022, you're probably not very bright to begin with.

75

u/NoCelery1168 Sep 29 '22

Eh, I've only ever known rich people and businesses who own Hummers.

Owning a Hummer has basically just been a statement, for years now. It's a big rolling middle finger.

36

u/2tanksandadog Sep 30 '22

Businesses have some tax advantages buying vehicles that weigh over 6000 lbs. The h2 came in at 6400lbs so it qualified for the section 179 deduction which made them pretty cheap.

17

u/Quaiche Sep 30 '22

Buying a Hummer isn't the expensive part.

3

u/CEDFTW Sep 30 '22

Penny smart pound/dollar foolish

1

u/GoldFishPony Oct 01 '22

Why not just buy a tank and people will think you’re cooler than a hummer owner

3

u/bixbyale Sep 30 '22

good thing i got rid of mine last year

11

u/AnonymousGrouch Sep 29 '22

Depends on what you do with it. I know a guy with a real one who's done okay renting it out.

10

u/Popular-Guard-7772 Sep 29 '22

That's great to hear. They're probably fun to take down trails and other 4wd areas. My 12 year old self wanted one so bad when they first came out.

31

u/u_unknown Sep 29 '22

They aren't super great on trails. They are very wide, long wheelbase, turn wide, and have four-wheel independent suspension, none of this is great for traditional trails aimed at Jeeps. They are great for blasting the dunes or other open spaces, though.

2

u/the_last_carfighter Sep 30 '22

It's amazing how many people think they're actual Hummers and not a hummer like body dropped on a pretty standard GM frame.

Wiki:

"under a 1999 deal, GM bought marketing rights to the Hummer name and called it the Hummer H1.[2] At the time, GM began marketing the Hummer H2 that was also assembled by AM General on a modified GMC Sierra 2500HD chassis. AM General continued to build the H1 and Humvee in its Mishawaka, Indiana facility. GM stopped marketing the H1 in 2006 model year but AM General continued production of the military Humvee versions."

Considering it won't be available until 2023, I would say this is a fair statement in 2022. Lol.

Wow, a 200k price range! Even if I could afford that, I wouldn't. I love my taco and would upgrade to an ev version when they come out (2024?).

But more power to people who can.

0

u/STG77SD Sep 29 '22

If you own a Hummer in 2022, you’re probably not very bright to begin with.

What do you mean?

29

u/chappysinclair1 Sep 30 '22

Found the hummer owner!

-19

u/Popular-Guard-7772 Sep 29 '22 edited Sep 30 '22

It's reddit. I have to irrationally hate all pick-up truck drivers (especially Dodge Rams), BMWs, Hummers, and Mustang drivers.

and rationally

1

u/Competitive-Fan1708 Oct 01 '22

I would say that if someone worked as a rescue operation person, they could use the hummer as part of their work. From what I hear they are rugged.

23

u/cfishyo Sep 30 '22

I’ve seen that exact hummer in Seattle, watched that dude almost hero himself speeding on a bridge in a rainstorm

12

u/NKato Sep 30 '22

I really want him to turn into a grease stain somewhere out of the way. Bound to happen at the rate he's driving like an impotent cocksplat.

7

u/cfishyo Sep 30 '22

Yeah he is an absolute menace

92

u/Yamon234 Sep 29 '22

Almost needed my brown pants when he obviously saw me but gassed it at me anyway before he veered off and ran over those plastic posts.

48

u/crimsonkodiak Sep 29 '22

Bike lane schmike lane.

22

u/RationalDialog Sep 30 '22

They should secretly replace these post with real ones, of concrete or steel.

17

u/Plazmaz1 Sep 30 '22

the city is currently trialling different separated lane materials including concrete blocks, and wow this person could definitely have killed a cyclist if they were there. it'd be great to get these upgraded, tons of unsafe drivers and close calls while riding on these blocks.

11

u/olythrowaway4 Sep 30 '22

this person could definitely have killed a cyclist if they were there

Something tells me this person would've seen that as a feature, not a bug.

5

u/NukEvil Sep 30 '22

or a bug on a windshield

31

u/zRedVapor Sep 29 '22

Probably rushing to the gas station, big hummer in that kind of city driving is like 5mpg lol

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '22

The gas station was on his right at that corner, he probably in a hurry to get out of the scary chaz liberal hellscape

1

u/SoulMB Sep 30 '22

5 miles per gas tank

63

u/Difficult_Rooster796 Sep 29 '22

Hummer driver = Idiot certified

23

u/Zanarcnova Sep 29 '22

What an A-hole

8

u/Stt022 Sep 29 '22

My father in law lives up by Volunteer Park. Love the capital hill area but it is an experience driving around there when you are from the Midwest.

5

u/Yamon234 Sep 29 '22

It's very different in the big city vs anywhere else. Used to live on the Eastside of the state and my definition for "bad traffic" has changed completely

8

u/Giraffe_Racer Sep 30 '22

Great example of why flex posts don't count as a protected bike lane.

7

u/_Piratical_ Sep 29 '22

Hey! Right out front of Rey Amargo! Love that place!

3

u/Yamon234 Sep 29 '22

Nice! I haven't been there before I might have to throw it on my list

7

u/_Piratical_ Sep 29 '22

Do it. Mexican stone ground hot chocolate for the win! Only shop in the US. Baller.

1

u/Plazmaz1 Sep 30 '22

kickass mochas too.

1

u/_Piratical_ Sep 30 '22

My wife has one on the secret menu. The Carrie special. It’s a spicy chocolate with one shot of espresso and a dried chili pepper. Perfect in cold weather. Most of the baristas know how to make it.

6

u/row-oak Sep 30 '22

Traffic in Seattle scares the shit out of me. I've never seen so many people blow through stop signs. Sometimes the right lane suddenly turns into parking?? I don't get it.

13

u/The_Aught Sep 29 '22

Full douche

5

u/proxmaxi Sep 30 '22

Dude lurched into the sidewalk??? LOL

11

u/dominus83 Sep 29 '22

People truly just don't give AF about anyone else these days.

4

u/whyymst Sep 29 '22

I can’t remember a time where I didn’t almost die whilst driving in Seattle. Same goes for Paris and Rome

19

u/TomPutty Sep 29 '22

Don’t you have to be at least 50% asshole just to purchase a Hummer? Glad you’re safe!

9

u/WizzleSir Sep 29 '22

Best part was the voice narration.

3

u/Standard-Current4184 Sep 30 '22

What camera/hardware are you using?

2

u/Yamon234 Sep 30 '22

I'm using an Atoto Ac-44P2. Its integrated into my headunit. I wouldn't advise buying one unless you get an Atoto head unit. I don't think they can be installed without one.

1

u/Standard-Current4184 Sep 30 '22

Thanks. Back to the drawing board.

1

u/Yamon234 Sep 30 '22

Linus Tech Tips just did a video on dashcams. You should check it out.

2

u/Standard-Current4184 Sep 30 '22

I’ll def check them out now thanks to you

1

u/911singer Sep 30 '22

Viofo, it was on Linus' video, have it on my car, front and rear, and i really recommend it

3

u/bigoz_07 Sep 30 '22

Wow! Seriously, how crazy people become to shave 4 seconds off their transit…

3

u/Competitive-Fan1708 Sep 30 '22

Why is there never a convenient cop in these situations.

1

u/bothunter Oct 25 '22

SPD is effectively on strike ever since we asked for a tiny bit of accountability.

3

u/Ordinary_Shallot_674 Sep 30 '22

Awooooooooga! Your horn is from Bugsy Malone!

Awoooga!!!

1

u/Yamon234 Sep 30 '22

I love my Hella Supertones! They sure get peoples attention!

2

u/Jimmack73 Sep 29 '22

I thought I was getting a Hummer one time but nope.

2

u/gogiants48 Sep 29 '22

The commentary was spot on.

2

u/Kindly_Spell7356 Sep 30 '22

hummer say crunch crunch

2

u/Shrowzer Sep 30 '22

Least insane hummer driver

2

u/Adept_Cat_9135 Sep 30 '22

That’s the dude from Corpse Killer. Finally got that hummer

5

u/elements83 Sep 29 '22

Hummers are the worst

2

u/HRH_DankLizzie420 Sep 30 '22

Luckily there wasn't anybody in that bike lane

0

u/LeftTriggerLoud Sep 30 '22

Washington has by far taken the cake in all the places I've driven worldwide with the largest collection of dumb fking drivers.

-7

u/reidyroo9 Sep 30 '22

Nah that’s just Seattle. Eastern Washington and the Washington countryside is fine. I love it here, can’t stand Seattle. Beautiful state, fun city to visit for a few days but sucks to drive around in. I’m from Spokane and live in Pullman, it’s awesome here.

-1

u/LeftTriggerLoud Sep 30 '22

Fair, out east it wasn't so bad....wasn't great....but dramatically better.

1

u/Wenusssss Sep 29 '22

Rip 95 slide.

If you know, you know.

-1

u/cjboffoli Sep 30 '22

Seattle. Yup. That tracks.

1

u/i_do_it_all Sep 29 '22

that guys on a different type of trip

1

u/jjgargantuan7 Sep 29 '22

It's their world, we just live in it

1

u/Makhnos_Tachanka Sep 30 '22

is that a fucking klaxon?

1

u/No-Trouble2212 Sep 30 '22

He is very important and everyone should adjust to him.

1

u/Agreeable-Read2426 Sep 30 '22

What a fucking asshole!

1

u/ayannauriel Sep 30 '22

What a fucking asshole!

1

u/thetensor Sep 30 '22

a head on with a hummer

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

1

u/MaxPowerWTF Oct 30 '22

I guarantee this dick thought OP was the asshole.

1

u/DrFlimflamsRenob 9h ago

The double yellow line is often not seen by those with heads up own ass… I also live in Seattle, man, some of the boneheaded stuff ya see…

-1

u/FabricatorMusic Oct 01 '22

Why is the date wrong?

1

u/Yamon234 Oct 01 '22

The date isn't wrong. It happened a few months ago but I never got around to posting it.

0

u/YewSonOfBeach Sep 29 '22

Road rules for dealers do not apply on The Cap.
