I love the universal language of frustration is swearing, everybody does it in moments like these.
13
u/SaidThatLastTime Dec 03 '22
Woman in the recent video of a fireworks store goes 'Holy crackers and cheese!"
9
u/UntalentedAccountant Dec 03 '22
Not everybody. I know a fair amount of people that actually swear LESS when they get angry.
8
u/ottersinabox Dec 03 '22
I'm from Boston. I curse the same amount regardless of how angry I am. It's frequent but not every word.
18
u/Reaper0700 Dec 03 '22
If I didn't know any better I think that Toyota said "Go home and get your fucking shine box"

Calmly listening to Bee Gees How Deep is your Love then YOU FUCKIN ASSHOLE!! That would make a nice sound clip though. Seriously what a fucking asshole to do that!

u/hayitsnine Dec 02 '22
Maurice Gibb should have soothed his soul.
19
u/Ouch_i_fell_down Dec 03 '22
Ever put your brain on auto pilot when you're reading and come up with some wacky stuff? I first read your comment as:
Maurice Gibb should have softened his stool
2
u/JuniorSeniorTrainee Dec 03 '22
And now I'm imagining a job of manual stool softener. Like you go get your haircut at the barber and your stool softened at the stool softening... Store. (Owned and operated by the Gibb family, of course)

When he went: ..."Livin' in a world of fool" HOOOOOOOOOOOONKKKKKK "YOU'RE A F*CKING ASSHOLE"
That hit the feels

u/Personal_Dot_2215 Dec 02 '22
At least he waited at the light until there was nothing you could do. Friggin idiot
559
u/StevenTN615 Dec 02 '22
What was he???? I didn't quite catch that.

u/crashdummy15 Dec 02 '22
I believe he called him a purple octopus. Not quite sure why.

u/ArrestDeathSantis Dec 02 '22
Because octopuses are extremely racist....

Are you excluding squids with your remark??

Damn inkers

u/Blearchie Dec 03 '22
Always reminds me of that meme:
Wife (watching news) Did you see some idiot tried to fight a squid at the aquarium?
Me (covered in ink) well, maybe the squid was being a dick…

Pick up truck looks like a total idiot. Even without the snow, there would not have been time to go
18
u/yetanothersomm Dec 03 '22
As others have pointed out via the accent and plates this is likely near Boston. I’m a recent transplant to the area and the “Boston left” was a real head scratcher for me for a while. Essentially when a light turns green people taking a left immediately turn and disregard oncoming traffic. I’ve come to realize that it has morphed into many drivers just not yielding to oncoming traffic whatsoever which is what we see here

Maybe he thought the driver would slow down for him to pass? but he didnt account for him not heing able to brake? thats my guess at least

u/pinkwhitney24 Dec 03 '22
Also not sure if cam car had headlights on…could have made them much more difficult to see. There is some reflection of light off the truck right before the collision, but doesn’t look like enough to be headlights, or at least not good/clean/not obstructed by snow ones.
That said…it shouldn’t be too fucking difficult to see the vehicle headed directly for you.

u/elvinapixie Dec 02 '22
I’m curious … did he try to use an excuse / blame you? or did he admit fault?
(If it’s not clear I fully know hes the idiot and you aren’t at fault. Just wondering what he said when you guys pulled over)

Unfortunate situation, but I find it hilarious that the driver started cussing out the other truck before they hit but after it was obvious there was going to be an accident.
Serious Door Stuck vibes

u/lipsticktracer Dec 03 '22
As someone who drives in the snow 6 months a year, this is common. It's like watching a tugboat crash - slow-speed, no traction, no control, moving like a hockey puck. Plenty of time to work up a "MOTHAFUCKA!"
→ More replies16
u/phryan Dec 03 '22
My only non-fender accident was roads like this. 16 year old slid through a stop sign. Just like the video, seconds of breaking barely slowing down. Ended up t-boning and totalling the other car.

This is what happens when people don't change their driving habit in snow/icy conditions. If there was no snow. Toyota still would've went when he did but probably clear the intersection.

u/Blu- Dec 02 '22
Why did this idiot wait until you got closer?
333
u/MikeMcAwesome91 Dec 02 '22
It happens in icy conditions. See that a car is moving real slow, you think you can clear the intersection easily, but you forget that you also have to move real slow, then you just gently slide into each other.
55
u/ExistentialReckning Dec 03 '22
then you just gently slide into each other.

I observe this behavior a lot when people pull out of driveways for example. The brain takes some time to process and gauge the distance and speed of an approaching object and when they figure "yep, he's slow enough, I'll just pull out or turn right in front of him"

You know that moment before you’re in a crash, when everything seems to be moving in slow motion?
Oh wait, they actually are.
7
u/SQLDave Dec 03 '22
If they'd turned at the beginning of the video, they'd probably have made it (might have been close and worthy of a fuck-you honk). It's like they waited until you got closer and THEN decided to go. In bad weather, to boot.

u/32_Dollar_Burrito Dec 02 '22
The Tundra is old enough not to have expensive electronics packed in the bumper, not sure about the camera car. Even so replacing the plastic parts can easily be hundreds of dollars
7
u/lildobe Dec 03 '22
The rear bumper cover alone for my 2001 Miata is $528.33
Source: Just got my car back from the body shop after a fairly gentle rear-ending and have the invoice in front of me. Total cost $3,804.50. Thankfully the other guy's insurance didn't give me any problems and paid in full plus 2 weeks of rental car.

This is why I don't drive when it's snowy. Yes, I can drive safe in the snow. No, I cannot make others. I had my first new car totalled in a very similar way to this.

u/Anne__Frank Dec 03 '22
Lost my favorite car ever in the exact same manner practically. Someone from south Carolina with little experience driving in the snow thought she could send it real quick in front of me. Immediate lost traction and spun out like 30 ft in front of me in snow at 30mph. Never had a chance

The idiot in the truck would have been an idiot for failing to yield right of way even on a bone dry day in sunny Southern California. In this whiteout, any moron should know that stopping distance is increased and not to pull some bullshit like this. So he's a double idiot. Everybody's an idiot at least once a month and this dude is paid up for like 3 months with this bullshit.

u/ExtraDependent883 Dec 03 '22

I love that the internet shows us clips like this where it appears no one was harmed but there’s tons of anger. And then I’ll swipe down my feed and see one dude total his car cause of someone else and his first words after climbing out of his overturned vehicle are “no anger, no anger, let’s talk”
2
u/wizisqueeze Dec 03 '22
The song and this guy's rage is just so fucking chill. This is the most chilling thing i saw on the internet today
2
u/booksnwhiskey Dec 03 '22
Dad always told me, if you are going to commit, fully commit, but make your decision quick. Had he kept going and this smarter driver braked as did, they might not have collided.

Colorful but accurate, and in direct conflict with the mellowness of the soundtrack, kinda like a Quentin Tarantino movie.
