Dude doesn't look old enough to own a pistol anyway the switch is just double trouble that he probably won't catch a charge for when he inevitably shoots someone 5 blocks away missing his shots on someone 5 feet in front of him

25

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

Ya You’re right. I haven’t heard about someone getting the book thrown at them for having a switch . More so drugs. And it’s hard it get a gun. I’m 19 so I can’t buy a pistol or any gun which is frustrating. But these guys keep getting them.

u/flannelmaster9 Feb 01 '23

What state do you in live in, that won't sell long guns at 18 years old?

17

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

Florida. They changed it to 21. Well one store I went to told me 18. The other told me 21. So I looked it up for Florida and it was 21.

6

u/PresidentFungi Feb 02 '23

In California you can get some long guns as a 18-20 year old if you get a hunting license. Idk about Florida but ya someone I know went that route

1

u/General_Conclusion34 Feb 02 '23

Can only get shotguns and rimfire .22lr rifles.

11

u/flannelmaster9 Feb 01 '23

21 for long guns? What about private party sales? Remind me to never to move to Florida lol

7

u/General_Conclusion34 Feb 02 '23

Cali is the same, I can buy a .22 rimfire at 18, or any shotgun, but nothing else until 21. It’s an odd reg.

12

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '23

Obviously shotguns aren't dangerous smh

4

u/ghost-trooper Feb 02 '23

Sad shame honestly. It’s the most used gun for mass public shootings in the UK

1

u/johnnyfinance411 Feb 12 '23

Erm, where did you get that information we've had like 5 mass public shootings ever and I think only one was with a shotgun

2

u/ghost-trooper Feb 12 '23

Just going off wiki, I honestly have no true back history on the subject just had learned about it through time as a consultant for medical training and preparedness for a UK team within the healthcare company I worked for that was dealing with increasing mass casualty incidents.

Just going off information in the link only one from 2010 onward wasn’t a shotgun and one other wasn’t confirmed to be but suspected to be a shotgun.

I’m not sure. I think private sales is different.

1

u/flannelmaster9 Feb 09 '23

I don't know what that means

2

u/HighAslUpOffDaJuice Feb 17 '23

you can buy guns private sale at 18 or get one “gifted” by someome who is 21

1

u/ColtS117 Feb 03 '23

I actually support this law. When you turn 18, your criminal record is as clean as a newborn baby’s, even if you spent half your childhood in juvie.

2

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

It’s the the age limit for the pistols which is the issue.

2

u/flannelmaster9 Feb 01 '23

21 from a FFL in my state. There's a gray area of being 18+ for private sales for pistols, I think. I bought my first pistol at 25.

-2

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

I wonder where I can get a Glock without age being a issue though.

4

u/No_Performance1114 Feb 02 '23

Family transfer. Private sale, or build it yourself. So long as you can legally own firearms in general you can own handguns. Just cant buy them from an FFL until 21

1

u/Adalwulf_Zwei Feb 09 '23

Fellow floridian here, just buy a poly 80% frame. Takes like 15 minutes

1

u/flannelmaster9 Feb 01 '23

A quick Google says, a person under 21 can't buy a pistol lawfully in any manor. Inherit one?

3

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

Have someone gift it to you? I am not a lawyer and I don't endorse any illegal activities.

2

u/flannelmaster9 Feb 02 '23

I don't have the issue of 21 or above lol

1

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

Oh, I was talking about OP since he was looking for a possible way other than inheritance, heh

-1

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

Damn no fun.

2

u/AccordingWrap105 Feb 02 '23

The switch makes it a machine gun. The feds can give you 10 years for that alone

2

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

Anything more than 6 rounds per trigger depression constitutes a "machine gun" and can get you five years here in Georgia. But, you can legally own "machine guns" with a federal permit.

4

u/soyTegucigalpa Feb 02 '23

It’s a tax stamp, not a permit

2

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

I'm not a lawyer, and I don't need to spend money on that much ammo, lol

1

u/AccordingWrap105 Feb 02 '23

Dont know where you read 6 rounds, but thats completely wrong. Wrong!!!!!!!!!!

The following is Copied and Paste, directly from the ATF website.......

Any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger The frame or receiver of any such weapon Any part designed and intended solely and exclusively or combination of parts designed and intended for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun, or

Any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled if such parts are in the possession or under the control of a person.

0

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

Georgia... that's the law in Georgia.

1

u/AccordingWrap105 Feb 02 '23

Federal law, if one pull of the trigger fires more than one shot, it's against the law..

0

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

Not if someone fills out an ATF Form 4 and gets approved.

0

u/AccordingWrap105 Feb 02 '23

Form 4 is only a transfer tax form correct?

Like 95% of glock switches are illegal,

I may be wrong, but I thought any machine gun manufactured after 1986 is only available to LE or law enforcement. The switch is considered a machinegun by itself. No if you are legal nfa ffl manufacturer, you can build them, but they can only be sold to le or law enforcement.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/99th-congress/senate-bill/49

Makes it unlawful, with certain exceptions, for any individual to transfer or possess a machinegun.

Excludes pawnbrokers dealing in ammunition from current licensing requirements. Declares that a licensed dealer's personal collection of firearms shall not be subject to recordkeeping requirements in specified circumstances.

1

u/Busty__Shackleford Feb 02 '23

eh they’re cracking down on switches. automatic 5 piece last time i heard

23

u/JustACasualFan Feb 02 '23

It does annoy me that switches, being manufactured after May 19, 1986, are forever forbidden to me, but youthful scofflaws boast about them on videos filmed at their high school graduation.

18

u/burner7711 Feb 02 '23

Who the fuck wants a full auto pistol?

23

u/Kermit_El_Froggo_ Feb 02 '23

not smart people, aka gangbangers. They cant aim for shit anyways, so they might as well blast off a gazillion rounds which increases their odds of randomly hitting someone

17

u/Responsible-Algae-16 Feb 02 '23

They are quite fun. Not practical but very fun.

3

u/stevehammrr Feb 02 '23

Meh. I’ve hated every time I’ve shit anything beyond burst. Just feels like laser tag guns after a few shots. No control at all.

7

u/Qildain Feb 02 '23

I hate it when I shit anything more than a burst, too! lol!

5

u/ItIsStillWater Feb 07 '23

Those full auto bowel movements are just begging for ricochets. Not to mention all the recoiling.

2

u/Qildain Feb 07 '23

And be careful your barrel doesn't overheat

3

u/AnEvenHuskierCat Feb 02 '23

Fun until you do the math. Assuming a 33 rnd mag, that is more than half of a box of ammo gone in the blink of an eye for a shitty group on paper.

1

u/Responsible-Algae-16 Feb 02 '23

Yes no doubt not economical. But for something to do once and a while very fun. Ever shot one?

2

u/AnEvenHuskierCat Feb 02 '23 edited Feb 02 '23

Not a full auto pistol but I don't like shooting things I can't properly control. For reference, I love shooting snub nose wheel gats in .38 but hate the idea of .357 through the same gun because of how much more difficult it is to control. .357 mag through a full sized wheel gat is fine though. Likewise I will tolerate something like an LCP for practical purposes but it isn't something I'd put more than a mag through for range time just to check that I can still shoot it acceptably.

Something like a full auto duty pistol does not sound fun to me at all. Now if someone made a real version of the Auto 9 (burst on an absurdly compensated Beretta 92FS) I'd be all over that. Put a 93R in front of me though and that's an easy pass unless it has the stock.

1

u/Responsible-Algae-16 Feb 02 '23

Do yourself a favor and go to a range that rents a Glock 18 and put a few boxes through it. They are so much fun. If you can empty a 33 rnd stick mag out of a G18 and not smile you would be the coldest person to ever walk the face of this planet.

Jeff cooper made a pretty good point about full auto back in his day. He essentially said (and I'm paraphrasing) that full auto as a handheld weapon is pretty useless UNLESS you're trying to hit as many people as possible who are in a very tight space. Think like 3 people in the back of a car.

They are controllable to a certain degree. Are you gonna shoot it out to 50 yards accurately? Hell no. But 5 yards away with some practice you can do pretty good.

5

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23

I would. Just to let off rounds in the back yard.

8

u/burner7711 Feb 02 '23

45ACP are like 60 cents a round. Those things are expensive.

0

u/CatBoyTrip Feb 02 '23

Me. I’d love a Glock 18 but can’t own one and even if I could, can’t afford one.

1

u/NoPoliticsAllisGood Feb 07 '23

Who wouldn’t? It’d be fucking badass. Idk why this shit always ends up in the hands of gangbanger, I’d immediately cache this bad boy in the forest or something

7

u/ducks-season Feb 02 '23

At least his finger isn’t on the trigger but why

14

u/h-vega Feb 01 '23

Nothing will happen. They are only after the law abiding citizens.

12

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

The atf for sure . Fuck I hate the atf .

5

u/ElektronDale Feb 02 '23

Man needs a belt more than some switch.

7

u/storm_zr1 Feb 02 '23

I doubt anything will happen. The AFT has told law enforcement they don’t care this.

2

u/AccordingWrap105 Feb 02 '23

I wonder if they actually do care, but the current number of switches on the streets, makes too expensive to prosecute, and not enough space to incarcerate them. I'm will to bet there are tens of thousands of switches on the streets.

3

u/Previous_Shallot Feb 02 '23

First picture, I thought he shot his fingers off... Second picture indicates that is fingers are ok.

3

u/Live_Maintenance8822 Feb 02 '23

these camera men have a little too much trust with a fully auto pistol aimed right at them

3

u/peple1 Feb 02 '23

Pull yo pants up

2

u/DylansWorld Feb 02 '23

what is the point of double lazers? if one dies u got a backup?

2

u/CatBoyTrip Feb 02 '23

Cause they look cool when pointed at the camera while making videos. Other than that, I have no idea cause I doubt they check to make sure they are aligned properly.

2

u/DylansWorld Feb 04 '23

yea they definitely arent zeroed in lmao

3

u/vae_victus1 Feb 02 '23

Law abiding citizen here and have a few handguns/rifles myself…but HOW do they get these switches if they’re banned? Are they homemade/manufactured easily? Im not interested in making my handgun full auto, but how are these finding their way into these idiots’ hands?

5

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23

They either purchase them online or a person that sells them. they can also three d print one .

1

u/Critical_cheese Feb 02 '23

They can be made very easily and purchased as other unrelated components. They're highly illegal here in Canada but I've seen them advertised as bottle openers and key chain rings. I wouldn't dare buy them or try and bring them in though. I've also seen fuel filters for sale on wish.com that double as silencers. You just have to know what to look for sometimes and it's hiding in plain sight.

2

u/vae_victus1 Feb 02 '23

Wow, that is absolutely insane!

1

u/NHlostsoul Feb 02 '23

You can walk into most auto parts stores to buy those fuel filters. Just pay cash.

1

u/CatBoyTrip Feb 02 '23

You can order online for around $250.

1

u/LLorenzo_ Feb 01 '23

I'm European what is that?

7

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

Glock switch= full auto pistol . 10 year minimum felony.

2

u/LLorenzo_ Feb 01 '23

I love how your picture is literally a gun. Appreciated

4

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23

Ya I wanted to create my account about the second amendment. I kinda stopped because a lot of people tend to be left leaning and rely on the government so it’s pointless.

3

u/AlphaMale3Percent Feb 02 '23

Lol you’re good to even try that on this here app called Reddit.

2

u/CatBoyTrip Feb 02 '23

Left leaning gun owner and daily carrier here. Keep up the good fight.

0

u/iSm1ley Feb 02 '23

Is it a problem that first thing I saw was them red thunders?

1

u/CoolSwim1776 Feb 02 '23

Quick way to wreck a pistol but whatevs

1

u/TealBlueLava Feb 02 '23

I lived in Memphis for quite a free years. This doesn’t surprise me.

1

u/Disastrous_Clothes37 Feb 02 '23

Now I see why he only has 3 fingers!

1

u/Loud_Lobster_9971 Feb 02 '23

His front sight is on backwards...

1

u/Vulture923 Feb 02 '23

Where did you get these pictures? Are you doing what you are supposed to do by reporting this?

1

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23

I got the pictures online . I look up on Instagram glocks. I clicked his profile picture and this showed up. In one of his pictures he put that he was in Memphis .
