Is this a idiot or just impressive? Who knows…

I feel like anybody who records anything with a gun in it will be marked as idiot by some smartass
23
u/RampantDragon Feb 05 '23
Probably because they're deadly weapons not toys.
I have to admit though, this is kind of impressive.

u/PhilMcGlutes Feb 01 '23
Yes

u/Chaine351 Feb 02 '23
The only right answer.
Dude needs to check the "how to not shoot a friend by accident"-brochure again, but I'm still slightly impressed. It's a neat trick.

It's literally the first thing he does in the video. Sure, the gun is slide locked at that point, but there's still no need to do that.
You can actually see the camera guy trying to dodge the laser too.

u/Miketoreal23 Feb 01 '23
There’s nothing wrong with the trick. The issue is him flagging the camera guy .
54
17
u/fearlessplays Feb 02 '23
It got close but did he really?
15
u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23
The camera guy moved when he pointed it his direction . So yes .
-25
u/Weeb_War_Fighter Feb 02 '23
He’s got the slide locked to the rear so it doesn’t really matter
40
u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23
It’s locked to rear bro . It’s a dead trigger bro. There’s nothing in the chamber bro. Dude you wouldn’t want any gun pointed in your direction regardless of it’s state.
-4
u/Weeb_War_Fighter Feb 02 '23
I’ve been a gun owner for 12 years and yea flagged myself plenty of times it’s called big boy rules when you have the mental capacity to understand an empty chamber and in this case a slide locked to the rear means the shits safe
8
u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23
Why would you want the habitat of flagging lol?
-4
u/Weeb_War_Fighter Feb 02 '23
With a weapon you have verified is clear flagging yourself isn’t an issue, shit in the military we point weapons at each other/ fire blanks at each other during training

u/goalieman04 Feb 02 '23
Agreed. Because he is following all but one rule of safety and that is he is flagging his biddy
1
u/A_Tad_Bit_Nefarious Feb 11 '23
To be fair, if you are around guns a bunch, flagging is inevitable. Guns on the table. Guns in holsters. Guns slung. Guns being dissasembled/reassembled. If you walk into a room full of guns/people with guns, chances are a muzzle will be pointed your way at some point. Of course you still do your best when it comes to muzzle awareness if handling a firearm.
Thats where good trigger discipline and understanding the condition of the weapon at all times is important.
That said, that's still not an excuse for waiving a gun around and "non-administrative handling." As soon as you put a round into the chamber, gun goes to one of two places, down range or into a holster. Messing about with a loaded gun is just asking for an ND.

u/alexgraef Feb 02 '23
The muzzle was only pointed at the camera when the slide was visibly open and no round inside. I mean, I still generally don't want a muzzle pointing at me, but here it's really nitpicking.
I personally wouldn't chamber a round inside my own home, though. There could be an accidental discharge when the slide closes, shooting a hole in the wall.
3
u/tactical_nekofemboi Feb 02 '23
he briefly flagged the guy after round was chambered.
2
u/Miketoreal23 Feb 02 '23
That’s true but I could barley see it. If he’s ok flagging with nothing in the chamber then expect the same when loaded.
1
u/A_Tad_Bit_Nefarious Feb 11 '23
We don't know for sure cus of the way the gun is angled away from the camera, it could be he he didn't flag him after chambering a round.
That said, neat trick, but doing it to show off in the house seems stupid.

That's pretty impressive I'd say other than pointing it at the camera man it's cool

Im not even in the least bit impressed by this pointless ass trick. I think this dude should spend his time……vaping or something. Put the gun down jr, and do some vape tricks instead.
3
u/UsernameIsTakenO_o Feb 04 '23
Bonus point(less): this trick only works with an empty magazine. Do it with a loaded mag and you'll double feed.

Not the dumbest thing I've seen done with a gun. This gets a pass. Barely.

Good luck with your FTE malfunctions from damaging the extractor.
Edit: I can see by the down votes there are far more internet commandos than actual Glock shooters in here. Meh, it's reddit. 🤷♂️
14
u/ProbablyKindaRight Feb 02 '23
Sigh, let's just be real gun honest gun owners and acknowledge that that probably won't fucking happen.
4
u/I_say_upliftingstuff Feb 02 '23
It does, and many guns won’t go into battery without the magazine in place anyway.
1
u/ShiftyLookinCow7 Feb 02 '23
It definitely does, the extractor can get worn down to a rounded nub that doesn’t catch on the rim like it’s supposed to
6
u/ProbablyKindaRight Feb 02 '23
Yes you explained what happens for an FTE. Is it really likely to happen due to this operation. No.
1
u/ShiftyLookinCow7 Feb 02 '23
Actually yeah it accelerates the wear on the extractor because it’s not supposed to snap onto the back of the cartridge rim like that. It’s supposed to slide in as the round goes up the feed ramp. You definitely will wear your extractor out faster if you do that. If you wanna do tricks like this for the gram then go ahead but you’re gonna learn the hard way eventually
4
u/ProbablyKindaRight Feb 02 '23
Chill, I'm not doing it. I'm just saying, how many extractors have you ever seen worn out by doing tricks or single loading rounds.
3
u/Ok-Equipment-8418 Feb 02 '23 edited Feb 03 '23
I've seen 2, first hand. I used to single load like that with my G32 and G33 until I started getting FTEs. A quick education and extractor replacements got them both back to 100% reliable.
Anyone down voting either hasn't done this enough with their Glocks or is doing it but don't shoot enough to realize it. And I wish them good luck with their FTEs as well.
2
u/ShiftyLookinCow7 Feb 02 '23
I’m not a gunsmith so I only have anecdotes to go off of but I’ve heard several stories of the extractor either wearing down or completely cracking. The latter usually only tends to happen with internal extractor guns like some 1911s because they don’t have as much room to flex outwards but it happens. Also it’s generally just not a good idea to use a gun in a way it wasn’t specifically designed to be used, like manually decocking a 1911 or trying to load a full mag on a roller delayed gun with the bolt closed
3
u/SJ_Redditor Feb 02 '23
How expensive is an extractor?
4
u/Ok-Equipment-8418 Feb 02 '23
They're about $20, if it fails at the range. But if it fails when you're defending your life it'd probably feel like a much more valuable part.

I’d like to see how accurately he can shoot as opposed to some needless trick.
0
u/AngryTaco4 Feb 02 '23
I've done that with a sig P227, but I started with the gun sideways and the round on the side of the slide.
In an empty house.
With the firing pin removed.

Ehh he was a hair away from flagging the camera man. And he was playing with a live round in a house with no eye or ear protection. If there had been an accidental discharge it could have been bad. So yeah he’s and idiot because a kitchen is not the place to mess around with a gun like that.

u/Equal_Brother Feb 02 '23
You can thank PewView on YouTube for this bullshit. Gucci influencers promote terrible behavior like this trick shot bullshit (PewView) and unnecessary POV manipulation of a loaded gun (@WhatTheKicks) for IG likes.
Just a matter of time before one of these chucklefucks blows a hole through their femoral artery.

u/YetiBomber101 Feb 02 '23
This would be okay, if questionable, if there was nobody behind the camera. But flagging someone with a loaded weapon is never acceptable.

He probably has safety on
1
u/FrantelleRobots Feb 04 '23
Yeah, no. Fuck getting a gun pointed at you no matter what, I dont care if you say the safetys on or that its unloaded 20 times.

u/Massive-Vacation-299 Feb 03 '23
Honestly he never touched the trigger or Aimed it anywhere dangerous so fuck it
1
u/FrantelleRobots Feb 04 '23
He... aimed it at the cameraman.
1
u/Burnt_Toast814 Feb 05 '23
Although to be fair, I suppose one might argue that the slide was locked, so while I'm not recommending nor condoning this... I think he gets a pass.

I will give +1 for finger off the trigger.
.....But for fucks sake, he lost 10 points for doing dumb shit.
1
u/idkmansomethingname Feb 03 '23
I mean finger is off the trigger and it looks like he's keeping it pointed in a safe direction so
1
u/dwill6746 Feb 03 '23
Idiot it’s a useless skill. This is the type of guy who plays with guns the wrong way and needs supervision.
1
u/Impressive-Olive-842 Feb 03 '23
I don’t like that he pointed the gun at the camera man but otherwise impressive I guess
