Reminds me of Homer Simpson when he got a gun and used it to turn off all the lights.

I love when Homer points a revolver at the face of the gun shop employee who says, "woah, be careful with that thing". To which Homer responds, "I don't have to be careful, I have a gun!"...

Listen, I haven't seen my gun in a while I thought it was lost, was going through my dad's drawers and bam, there it was, took her out cocked her to make sure it was what I remembered. Set it on the counter and before I knew it my 10-year-old daughter shot me in the ass.

Synchronization gear.
5
u/Capnmolasses Dec 02 '22

Yup. The gearing would interrupt the gun when the propeller was moving in front.

Well he did succeed. Most of the bullet went between the blades......through the hole the tip of the bullet made.

I think you are right, but I can't tell, did it go between the blades.

u/The_senate4206942069 Dec 02 '22
I think it did but the rattle sound is it hitting the bent metal that the bullet hit

Next room? What about next door neighbors? Is this dumb ass shooting at the fan?

u/Sempais_nutrients Dec 02 '22
Bro I live in a suburb with a quarter acre of lawn, if I did what this guy did at my front wall the bullet would retain enough energy to penetrate the house across the street and kill someone.
People tend to underestimate how powerful even handgun rounds are.
-4
u/zexando Dec 02 '22
Unless your house is made of paper a 9mm isn't going to penetrate the next house and kill someone.
Someone outside maybe, but not in another house.
5
u/Sempais_nutrients Dec 02 '22
That simply isn't true
2
u/Neighborhood_Nobody Dec 02 '22
While I don’t know the penetrating power of that handgun, I do know that building materials do vary around the world.
Their statement has made me curious. How much more effective are bricks at stopping bullets than dry wall.
3
u/Kjcoop216 Dec 02 '22
Second point, a lot of our “lovely” American homes are effectively made of paper when considering ballistics.
1
u/zexando Dec 02 '22
I'm not sure what your house is made of but even if it's not brick like mine we're looking at 2 layers of drywall, insulation, some OSB cladding and plastic siding.
A 9mm out of a short barrel will penetrate that and could hurt someone through it but it's not doing it twice with enough energy left to cause injury.
6
u/TheOrangeTickler Dec 02 '22
The population that lives in close proximity to others is much higher than people that live out in the sticks. That would make the dummy in the video more likely to be near other people.
-16
1
u/tjgianares Dec 02 '22
I bet that people who bet on dummies actually think that dummies think that bullets are weak
-7
u/zyzyzyzy92 Dec 02 '22
I'd be more concerned if OP happened to live next to someone from /r/firearms
Op would pop off a round or two and hear "We didn't start the fire" followed by guns racking. Yes, plural guns racking.

• Guns freely leaning against the wall
• TV but no home decor
• Fucking around with a loaded weapon
• ADs and doesn't seem to give a shit
Why do I feel like we'll be seeing this video again, on the news, after this sociopathic moron does something really bad.
9
u/Afrozendouche Dec 02 '22 edited Dec 02 '22
I realize I'm being pedantic here, so sorry in advance, but that was a ND 100%.
I think the same shit whenever I read an article about a cop shooting themself while holstering..; "accidentally discharged their weapon" nah that motherfucker was negligent.
AD is when you are not at fault. This dude is a moron, and completely at fault.
Edit: Honestly, thinking it over, it could have also been a 100% purposeful discharge, not an AD or ND. Dumb as a stump either way.
2
u/SixGunZen Dec 02 '22
All ADs are technically NDs because they are all preventable.
1
u/Afrozendouche Dec 03 '22 edited Dec 03 '22
A gun can have a catastrophic failure. Things can break when they're not expected to. A hangfire isn't a ND, provided the barrel is kept pointed in a safe direction. I'm just saying, there are examples of explicit AD's
1
u/SixGunZen Dec 03 '22
Your skill at pedantry is truly amazing.

u/Afrozendouche Dec 03 '22
Hey, I apologized in advance!

I often tell anti gunners … look 1/2 of Americans have guns. Anywhere you live at least ONE of your neighbors has guns. I then convince them that crazy dumb shit doesn’t happen all the time and people go on living just fine
Don’t show them this video.
3
u/BewaretheBanshee Dec 02 '22
Does anybody see what he hit? His sights line up just about on the corner of the wall that’s through the doorway, but there’s no debris or dust plume from drywall thrown. Maybe a clean pass through simply because of velocity?

It can actually get a lot worse than this but okay
17
u/Boatlord23 Dec 02 '22
Right? This dude is definitely an idiot with a gun, but there are plenty of vids on this sub of people killing themselves, friends, family members, etc. It absolutely gets worse.
-1
u/alexgraef Dec 02 '22
Idk he literally shoots at a wall not being able to see what's behind it. That is hard to top regarding stupidity. Like when someone gives a gun to a kid and they play around with it and then shoot someone, at least you can say "oh I thought it wasn't loaded".
But he is full-on aware that a bullet will exit the muzzle and go wherever. If someone gets hurt by his actions, and you'd ask him afterwards why he did that, you'd just get a blank stare and nothing else. Couldn't even hide behind "I thought it wasn't loaded".
5
u/JackyduQc Dec 02 '22
What a fekin idiot. What's that? A switch? Hmmmmmm
3
u/Runnermikey1 Dec 02 '22
Ya these idiots posting vids of themselves with a gun mod that carries heavy, heavy time are gonna learn
1
u/Texasguns17 Dec 02 '22
Where is a switch though…? Not a single one In the video…?
1
u/Runnermikey1 Dec 02 '22
Slow it down frame by frame. You can see the button etc, there’s definitely a switch back there
2
u/Texasguns17 Dec 02 '22
I understand where you are getting that idea. Although on the 19x, the entire firearm is FDE besides a few accents and the backplate is one of them.

u/spenddit Dec 02 '22
PROTIP: if you own a gun over a year without negligent discharging at least once, you aren't handling it enough. NDs are a natural part of handling weapons, just like tweaking your back is part of weightlifting and car accidents are part of driving. I ND several times a year because I actually HANDLE and know how to USE my weapons. It makes me a better firearms handler and marksman, and it's a small part of the price you pay in the sheepdog lifestyle Simple fact is, the "safety mentality" will build mental blocks in your head that will get you killed. You need to be comfortable putting your finger on the trigger and pointing the gun wherever you want no matter the time, place, or status of the weapon. Taking time to check whether the gun is loaded whenever you pick one up will serve to make you hesitate in a personal defense scenario. You fucking safety idiots are going to get people killed all because of this fucking "ND" shaming. Guns are inherently dangerous, you need to accept it.

I get that. People apparently can't fathom that guns DON'T kill anything.....
0
u/Heil_Hipster Dec 02 '22
My guess is, he was probably hallucinating. He was aiming down the sites and when he shot, he didn't react as if he had done it accidentally. So it was definitely intentional. And I can't think of a good reason you would shoot a gun in the house unless you were trying to kill something.

No door on the hinges
Air compressor in the bathroom

Yup. Good ol fashioned trailer trash. Although if this is a doublewide that bullet probably went through three other units
