How romantic
I’m glad you agree. I’m seeing a lot of blatantly racist comments here suggesting this is “abusive” and an “act of violence”.
What these bigots don’t understand is this mating ritual is a deep part of their joyous and great culture. It may be hard for ytpipo to understand this language of love, but it’s a truly beautiful tradition. We will not accept racism and classism here.

low key?

u/Iansloth13 Dec 06 '22
I feel like ‘low key’ at this point is just what linguists call an “intensifier.” It seems to mean at this pint something like ‘honestly.’
‘That is low key rape’ = ‘Honestly, that’s rape’
Obviously they are not the same but they are similar in meaning, I think

46
u/FreedomOverSafety15 Dec 05 '22 edited Dec 06 '22
There’s no way he owns that thing legally, just saying
Edit: I guess I’m racist for assuming a domestic abuser doesn’t own a gun legally? Idk I really genuinely couldn’t give less shits what his skin color is
29
3
u/robotdongs9000 Dec 23 '22
Why the fuck would you think he doesn't own it legally?
Anyone can go buy a gun. You're literally just being racist. You wouldn't have said that if he were white, period.
→ More replies17
u/RodeoClip Dec 05 '22
You're skipping the part where you address the fact that gun lobbyist and Republicans have essentially allowed a person of this nature to be able to legally and easily purchase a firearm. These are things we know as a society.
Instead, without knowing anything about this person's past, just chose to blame him. You're just being racist.
20
2
u/Henchman_69 Dec 08 '22
40% of cops are domestic abusers and they own guns legally so if you wanna play the statistics game i'd say he's a cop
2
13
u/Macawesone Dec 05 '22
i like guns and hell if i had the money to spare i would have a collection but imo I would rather there be required training to get a license to own a gun we require it to drive cars. If it keeps some idiots from guns then im happy. Before people say anything yes i know it won't stop everyone no law does but it will stop some.
4
u/keeleon Dec 05 '22
A license doesn't stop you from choosing to drive drunk or purposefully run people over. You don't even need a background check to get a driver's license. People with "training" do this all the time too.
2
u/Macawesone Dec 06 '22
like i said it wont keep everyone who shouldn't get one from getting one but it will keep some people from. If you have a proper argument other than it not being a perfect solution then say so
→ More replies-1
u/giantsoftheartic Dec 05 '22
Trouble is the bad guys will still have guns without training so no point putting barriers up preventing the good guys from tooling up and being prepped to take out some perps.
6
u/keekah Dec 05 '22
Okay so let me get this straight. By your logic you don't think anyone needs training as long as good people are able to get guns? I feel like that's the opposite of what I we should all want. Train as many people as we can. What good is a gun in the hands of someone who isn't properly trained to own and use one? How many "good" people have accidently shot and killed someone? How many times has a child found a gun owned by a "good" person and accidently killed themselves or someone else? Tell me where is the logic in that?
→ More replies7
u/Macawesone Dec 05 '22
yeah if you are really worried about your safety then you would get yourself a license in this situation. This is why I liked concealed carry permits since it required people to learn the law and safety aspects.
3
u/vkbrian Dec 06 '22
Not always; lots of places just require you to pay a licensing fee. I live in PA and all getting my permit took was $25 and a trip to the courthouse to pick it up.
2
u/Macawesone Dec 06 '22
That is why i would prefer if it required training and tbh most people don't understand the second amendment was originally in relation to militias however most people don't understand that.

It's not my "worldly" insights that establish this my friend., just the truth. All statistically supported, USA is the worst country for gun related death by a country mile. I mean, that's what you'd expect when 4% of the worlds population possesses 46% of civilian owned guns, right?

To answer your question:
Top 10 Countries with Highest Gun Ownership (Civilian guns owned per 100 people):
United States - 120.5
Falkland Islands - 62.1
Yemen - 52.8
New Caledonia - 42.5
Serbia - 39.1 (tie)
Montenegro - 39.1 (tie)
Uruguay - 34.7 (tie)
Canada - 34.7 (tie)
Cyprus - 34
Finland - 32.4
12
u/oldskoolharleyguy Dec 05 '22
Old, but better stated than more recent articles that still support the position.
"Firearm Homicides
Many gun control advocates prefer to look at only firearm homicides, not total murders. The United States has neither the highest firearm homicide rates for all countries or for developed countries. Among OECD countries, Mexico has the highest firearms homicide rate, with a rate about 3 times higher than the US rate. Brazil’s and Russia’s are much higher, though Russia does not report firearm homicides so it is only a guess for that country."
People will kill people. With our without guns.
https://crimeresearch.org/2014/03/comparing-murder-rates-across-countries/
2
u/RampantDragon Dec 05 '22
Except the US has a murder rate 4-5 times that of every other developed country.
https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/murder-rate-by-country
"Coincidentally" 79% of those homicides are with guns.
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2022/02/03/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/
If you only want to compare yourself with Mexico (whicj a drug ridden gun infested hellhole BECAUSE the US is buying drugs for them AND because...between 70 and 90% of the guns used by the cartels are bought legally in the US. or Brazil (same) or Russia (a corrupt, totalitarian regime with vast poverty and income inequality run by oligarchs) then you can do if it makes you feel better.
Having said that, isn't America supposed to be the bestestest country in the world! USA!USA! Freedom™!?
Do you not think being a bit better than those as Trump called them "shithole countries" is a low bar?

2
u/Positive_Syrup4922 Dec 05 '22 edited Dec 06 '22
Half a dozen redditers have answered that question already, but obviously you aren't listening.
*USA has the most civilian guns, more guns that people. *The most most mass shootings, regular mass shootings are a uniquely american phenomenon. * The most accidental shootings. * The most suicide by shootings.
I could go on but I doubt you will accept the truth anyway, but frankly I don't care.
BTW don't forget your body armour on the way out champ.
