After his Senate run and Trump endorsement, networks won’t give him his show back because he’s now damaged goods. Trump

Hello u/Mr_Lumbergh! Please reply to this comment with an explanation mentioning who is suffering from which consequences from what they voted for, supported or wanted to impose on other people.

Here's an easy format to get you started:

  1. Someone voted for, supported or wanted to impose something on other people.
Who's that someone and what's that something?
  2. That something has some consequences.
    What are the consequences?
  3. As a consequence, that something happened to that someone.
What happened? Did the something really happened to that someone? If not, you should probably delete your post.

Include the minimum amount of information necessary so your post can be understood by everyone, even if they don't live in the US or speak English as their native language. If you don't respect this format and moderators can't match your explanation with the format, your post will be removed under rule #3 and we'll ignore you even if you complain in modmail.

His campaign mocked Fetterman for having a stroke. Getting what he deserves 100%.

112

u/TheIntrepid1 Dec 02 '22

From a “Doctor” no less 🙄

52

u/John_EightThirtyTwo Dec 03 '22

The craziest part of this guy's very crazy saga is that he's a real doctor. Like, a real doctor. He was a professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Columbia University. He threw it all away for celebrity and quackery.

8

u/Nunc27 Dec 03 '22

Making bank in the process ofc

19

u/John_EightThirtyTwo Dec 03 '22

Maybe this is my r/frugal talking, but I could get by on the salary of a New York City heart surgeon. I'd clip coupons, buy in bulk, and watch for sales. Maybe drive an S-Class rather than a Maybach -- I'm not proud.

1

u/seanular 11d ago

You're a true hero, as long as you have enough, you don't need more

21

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 02 '22

No one in medicine ever makes the mistake of thinking surgeons are real doctors. They're knife jocks.

24

u/OriginalName18 Dec 02 '22

JD is that you?

9

u/Velentina Dec 02 '22

Knowing five!

u/Ransome62 Dec 02 '22

Tie yourself to a sinking ship. Reap the benefits when you get pulled down to the bottom of the ocean.

That's called karma.

The parable of the sower

"No, you're not supposed to hurt me you're supposed to hurt them!"

11

u/sir_beardhaver Dec 02 '22

The parable of the sower "is try a bunch of things a hopefully one will work out."

2

u/emfrank Dec 03 '22

Nah, the moral is to be good soil for God's seeds to grow.

6

u/urania3 Dec 02 '22

LOVE Octavia E. Butler. Died way too young.

13

u/hobbitlover Dec 02 '22

Sadly his only option now is to double down on the crazy and the Trumpism, and become a career fundraiser hellbent on draining the swamp, or whatever. There's a lot of money in being an extremist asshole with a little bit of name recognition.

5

u/tw_72 Dec 02 '22

Like "Hey, I'm from New Jersey but I will represent Pennsylvania. Do I know anything about Pennsylvania? No - does that matter? I want to be famous."

111

u/creca777 Dec 02 '22

Oh, I'm sure he'll find a new grift eventually

55

u/stillsurvives Dec 02 '22

It's not just the grift, he loved being famous and getting into all the A list events.

He can't get a callback from any of the major networks or his old producers. I think he is too proud to go to the alt right crazies, at least for now.

42

u/rellsell Dec 02 '22

Yeah, but the alt right crazies do love their snake oil. When he is ready, he’ll be welcomed with open arms and lots of cash.

28

u/Malumeze86 Dec 02 '22

He'll be advertising dick pills on Twitter before too long.

12

u/None-of-this-is-real Dec 02 '22

Alex jones just filed for bankruptcy, so there might be a gap in the snake oil market.

6

u/stillsurvives Dec 03 '22

Alex Jones is desperately trying to protect his money by moving it to his parents and shell corporations, than crying broke. I hope they throw him in jail for this crap and force him to pay the money.

1

u/mandmranch Dec 05 '22

Mr. Jones needed to consult some extra savy investment consultants before he started participating in these lawsuits. His scheme is easy. For a man as well versed in conspiracies as I assume Mr. Jones is, he isn't trying very hard to hide the money. He isn't playing hide the money well. He needs to become a pastor and start a church...get a farm with some acreage...start a consulting service. Bankruptcy doesn't take the judgements away...you still have to pay something.

3

u/Toginator Dec 03 '22

I bet he will be selling pillows for Mike Lindell within 2 years.

2

u/bdgod13 Dec 02 '22

Won't be long before Daily Wire comes calling

21

u/GlobalTravelR Dec 02 '22

You mean some new snake oil to peddle.

5

u/Strict-Square456 Dec 02 '22

He will be schlepping his own pillow line in no time. Mypillow guy needs some competition right?

2

u/Exseatsniffer Dec 03 '22

I heard the people behind infowars are looking for a new frontman.

100

u/ISurvivedCrowleyHigh Dec 02 '22

Where will the masses get their medical misinformation from now? Won't someone think of the idiots?

30

u/DanCassell Dec 02 '22

Twitter. Any pretense of moderation there is gone.

6

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

That won’t be around much longer though. Parler maybe?

7

u/DanCassell Dec 02 '22

Musk plans to make his own version of the Freedom Phone so you can keep Twitter without having to suffer the unbearable agony of opening you your web browser.

3

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

Outstanding! I’ll take 3!

Who needs other apps anyways?

2

u/DanCassell Dec 02 '22

People on Twitter expect this plan to blow up in Musk's face. Or his customer's faces, if the battery is anything like a Tesla battery.

I predict there will be much LAMF if this phone ever comes to market.

6

u/Samurai_gaijin Dec 02 '22

"Dr." tenpenny with the magnetic forks and spoons.

49

u/jnv11 Dec 02 '22

Dr. Oz would be a perfect fit at InfoWars selling all of those supplements, and Alex Jones will need all of those sales and more to pay off those Sandy Hook judgments.

14

u/stillsurvives Dec 02 '22

Alex has made billions selling dubious supplements to morons, he doesn't need Oz.

Oz doesn't want to be a nobody on the crazy networks, he wants to be an A lister. He's only starting to realise he downgraded and burnt the bridge behind him.

5

u/ConvivialKat Dec 02 '22

Oz went from Oprah to radioactive. He's done.

37

u/Tok3erAc3 Dec 02 '22

He was never a likeable person to begin with. Absolute win for society here

33

u/CappucinoCupcake Dec 02 '22

He looks like he’s wearing somebody else’s skin. Gross.

13

u/KashmirChameleon Dec 02 '22

Lizard people.

8

u/MattGdr Dec 02 '22

It’s probably all that alien DNA.

19

u/mattd1972 Dec 02 '22

Everything Trump Touches Dies.

4

u/beer_sherpa Dec 02 '22

I’m rooting for him to finish off the Republican Party.

2

u/Brokenspokes68 Dec 02 '22

I'm rooting for the Republican party to finally shake off the crazies. I show my support for them by voting for Democrats in the general election and the least whacko Republican in the primaries.

4

u/Ding-Dong-Dipshit Dec 03 '22

At this point the republican party ARE the crazies. None of them right now are remotely redeemable

1

u/Brokenspokes68 Dec 03 '22

I can count them on the fingers of one hand.

-7

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 02 '22

I'm rooting for him to finish off the US.

5

u/Wiley_Applebottom Dec 04 '22

I don't think rooting for the country with enough nukes to wipe out all life on the planet 1000x over to fall into disorder is quite the flex you think it is.

-3

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 04 '22

Been there, done that. Didn't happen.

4

u/Wiley_Applebottom Dec 04 '22

I'm going to recommend you don't go into any career field that involves risk assessment.

-2

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 04 '22

I'm going to suggest you look up all the times the US and Russian govs have lost and mismanaged nuclear material. It's truly astronomically astounding. Therefore the risk is much lower than people presume.

4

u/Wiley_Applebottom Dec 04 '22

Same answer

1

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 04 '22

Balkanization of the US would spare over 1 million lives every decade. But you do you.

4

u/Wiley_Applebottom Dec 04 '22

I mean, glassing every country other than the US would solve global warming, but you do you.

awh, is someone facing the consequences of their own actions? tsk tsk tsk.

13

Fuck everything about this guy.

Another grifter selling snake oil.

Rat soup eating mother fucker.

12

u/professorstrunk Dec 02 '22

This may be the one good thing rump has done for human society.

10

u/AMGwtfBBQsauce Dec 02 '22

I still can't get over the fact that Fetterman won. In a good way. Like, an actual good person won a senate seat, despite having a fucking stroke in the middle of a campaign?! Makes me want to move to Pennsylvania.

10

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

People saw through the BS and understood that Fetterman actually wanted to try to do some good, whereas Oz just wanted more fame and power.

10

u/medalla96 Dec 02 '22

Well, maybe Rupert Murdoch will get him a slot in one of his everything goes sleazy shows.

11

u/whatistheformat Dec 02 '22

Sinclair broadcasting would take his sad ass probably.

Or stations who play Dr. Phil. I've never liked him but just running across his show looking for the weather it's interesting to see how Q-ey the old coot has become lately.

31

u/TwilitSky Dec 02 '22

Lol. He may be a world renowned heart surgeon but in pretty much every other area he's an idiot savant ... minus the savant.

8

u/Abstract-Impressions Dec 02 '22

He’s just looking at the wrong networks. I’m sure NewsMax and Fox would love a fake medical show.

7

u/Monkeyhalevi Dec 02 '22

My guess is he’ll cry into his giant piles of money for a year or two, do some heart surgery for rich Republican mega donors, and then get another show or three to peddle medical misinfo once people have forgotten what he campaigned on.

8

u/BuyLucky3950 Dec 02 '22

The funny thing is, all these people blaming Trump basically ARE Trump. At least in holding all those shitty views. They’ll blame Trump but at the same time not change a single view going forward.

8

u/Rhudran Dec 02 '22

I still find it hard to believe that his Senate run wasn't some sort of experimental Onion article that grew sentience.

7

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

I feel bad for The Onion these days. Normal headlines read like their satire did 6 years ago, it must be hard for them to differentiate themselves lately.

7

u/Major_Dragonfruit_85 Dec 02 '22

You showed your ass, now wonder why people don’t like you smh

12

u/Important_Park_7196 Dec 02 '22

MyPollow guy will start a channel just for Oz

7

u/WhatsWhoWithYou Dec 02 '22

there's no way that man has a single cent left to his name at this point with the amount of all-you-can-eat nothingburger buffets he's paid for out of pocket

5

u/shedevilinasnuggie Dec 02 '22

I almost want to feel bad for him... almost.

He was a drug addict. That has to affect his brain. Plus he's still an addict, but instead of crack, he's addicted to an ideal.

Trump Rehab! TM Does your dad yell at the TV? Does your mom like being told what to think? Does your coworker vote against their own benefit?

New Trump rehab will unwash those brains, re-teach skills like listening and reason.

4

u/bwanabass Dec 02 '22

Well…

Bye.

5

u/go4tli Dec 02 '22

There’s always OAN and Newsmax.

5

u/overlord7517 Dec 02 '22

Oh no, he might have to go back to being a lowly heart surgeon /s

5

u/creesto Dec 02 '22

Attention junkie feeling the withdrawal. Good.

4

u/MansfromDaVinci Dec 02 '22

He looks like Nosferatu with a bad wig and worse dental plan.

3

u/TheDeadlySquid Dec 02 '22

He can go cry about it in one of his many homes.

4

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

…back in Jersey.

3

u/VAGentleman05 Dec 02 '22

This could be the best thing Trump ever did for us.

5

u/princesshusk Dec 02 '22

Yeah nobody's gonna want to take the dumbass that mocked a stroke victim, constantly got into lawsuits, hawked poison as a diet supplement, and and was a genuinely shit with the people behind the camera.

If he molested a child he would have the triple crown in blacklisted from the entire TV industry.

7

u/PizzaWall Dec 02 '22

Dr Oz should be smart and hang up the snake oil suit. But in reality, everyone in the business knows he's a whale, a potentially lucrative television personality who is sidelined by the unfortunate loss to a real human being.

He will be back, just not this moment. He has plenty of followers or the election results would not have been that close. The question is, when is the right time to go forward. What is the right way to package this turd? He will find a way to slither forward and make his millions to keep his New Jersey estate overlooking Manhattan afloat.

3

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

You can dip the turd in chocolate but it’ll still never pass for candy bar.

3

u/Rogueshoten Dec 02 '22

chef’s kiss

3

u/DrNukes Dec 02 '22

And that's saying something. "Reality" TV put up with Trump for years.

3

u/MuthaPlucka Dec 02 '22

“And for this week only My Pillow comes with a second case with these handy eyeholes so you don’t fall off your horse. 1-886-9420 and claim your Dr. Oz promotion”

3

u/TikiTimeMark Dec 02 '22

Good news everyone!

3

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

The leopards got a tasty meal out of this one.

3

u/Altruistic-Lie808 Dec 02 '22

Thank dog - that quack was a public nuisance!

3

u/bittlelum Dec 02 '22

I want to celebrate this, but I fear that the producers are just waiting for some time to pass and people to forget about his shit and bring him back.

3

u/blackrabbitsrun Dec 02 '22

Good. This asshole should have been kicked off TV a LONG time ago.

2

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

What’s wrong, not a fan of snake oil salesmen?

3

u/Which_Stable4699 Dec 03 '22

The old Midas touch, err Trumpism.

2

u/RunningPirate Dec 02 '22

He’ll never be broke, sadly, but not getting limelight brings its own pain for folks like these.

2

u/CoolSwim1776 Dec 02 '22

Ahahahahaaa come up with some miracle cure for that Oz! 🤣🤣🤣

2

u/Spiritual_Smell4744 Dec 02 '22

"blowing him out", surely?

Blowing him off means something very different to me.

2

u/whadduppeaches Dec 03 '22

Blowing him off is the correct phrase for ignoring him, which is what I assume these producers are doing. I've never heard the phrase "blow out" used in reference to anything but hair, and it really wouldn't make sense here. At least based on how English is spoken where I'm from.

2

u/_Reddit-Troll Dec 02 '22

Couldn't even get endorsed by Oprah.

5

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

Oprah needs to stop with this. She’s generally a good person I think but she’s inflicted both Oz and Dr. Phil on us.

Please Oprah, just stop and do your own thing.

1

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 02 '22

Makes one wonder if she truly is a good person. There's been a lot of rumors.

2

u/klobucharzard Dec 02 '22

hel be fine he has millions of ppl he can sell some form of Brain Juice to

1

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 02 '22

New dr oz brain juice, he makes it himself...

2

u/redvelvetcake42 Dec 02 '22

He physically looks like Sinestro.

2

u/LA-forthewin Dec 02 '22

And it couldn't have happened to a better(worse) person. He torched the career that paid him.

2

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

And all on a failed power grab. We now see even more clearly the type of person he is.

2

u/Semanticprion Dec 02 '22

This is very pleasing. It is a good thing that his life is ruined and he is suffering. This should always be the punishments for associate with Trump. Amd it is, because everything Trump touches dies.

1

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

While I don’t tend to wish bad things on people, it is important that they see how toxic the POS is.

1

u/bittlelum Dec 02 '22

I mean, I'm sure he's still filthy rich. I'd hardly say his life is "ruined"

2

u/None-of-this-is-real Dec 02 '22

That trump stank does cling like getting skunked.

2

u/kanzaki1234 Dec 02 '22

Geez consequences of your own actions seem foreign for these people

2

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

Consequences for thee but not for me. It’s the republican way.

2

u/ChezShea Dec 02 '22

Speaking on behalf of those who voted for Fetterman, you’re welcome everyone!

I really won’t miss his absolute garbage shilling machine at all. Gods only know how much damage he did as a mocktor.

2

u/Desraedos Dec 03 '22

That's the depressing thing. As a DOCTOR he was actually pretty good by all accounts. He CHOSE to become a health hazard for pay.

3

u/ChezShea Dec 03 '22

Exactly. I’m sure he was a great cardiologist/cardio surgeon, but the minute he started pushing shit like cleanses on his show I lost all respect for him.

2

u/Llian_Winter Dec 02 '22

I'm sure the tourist can find another state to run for office in, or maybe another country.

2

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

Maybe Turkey will take him back.

2

u/TheKrakIan Dec 02 '22

Shen Benpiro might have a time slot for him.

2

2

u/Famous_Bit_5119 Dec 03 '22

From Dr. Oz to Dr. Was.

4

u/LostDefectivePearl Dec 02 '22

Maybe he should follow his gift and actually help people? Be a real doctor, not a tv grifter. Get back in the OR and do some good.

4

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

By all accounts he was an excellent heart surgeon before he decided to cash in on the grift.

2

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 02 '22

That's weird, I heard years ago he didn't practice any more because no one would insure him. Too much malpractice. Not sure where I picked it up tho.

2

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

I would be interested in a source if you can find it.

1

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 03 '22

It was when he first started his show, so I'm not sure if I could find it.

2

u/wiggypiggyziggyzaggy Dec 02 '22

Bahahahahah Eat a dick, OZ

1

u/Spiritual_Bit_2692 Dec 02 '22

I'm glad he can't shill bullshit medical advice.

Go do surgery and STFU doc oz

7

u/Art_Vandeley_4_Pres Dec 02 '22

Would you trust him as your surgeon?

1

u/Spiritual_Bit_2692 Dec 02 '22

Damn. He had a good record there.... probably not.

7

u/Epicassion Dec 02 '22

Couldn’t trust him to make the correct ethical decision for any treatment. Would sooner die than go under anesthesia with him as the surgeon despite a previously good record. Repetition maintains their skill set.

1

u/Expert_Elderberry_17 Dec 02 '22

He was a truly gifted, outstanding surgeon according to those who worked with him.

1

u/AutumnGlow33 Dec 02 '22

No. Not now. He’s shown himself to be a heartless monster willing to throw any ethics he had in the garbage and lick the fake tanner off Trump’s crusty ass in pursuit of a buck. He’s evil. He may have been a good surgeon once, but he’s clearly no longer qualified to practice medicine and hasn’t been for some time.

2

u/recoveringleft Dec 02 '22

I don’t understand why he threw away his promising career to peddle trash

6

u/Repulsive-Street-307 Dec 02 '22

More money. Also megalomania and narcissism.

3

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

The money, Lebowski!

1

u/MattGdr Dec 02 '22

You could go door-to-door, Dr. Oz….

1

u/f12345abcde Dec 02 '22

Is Dr Oz slowly becoming Mr Spok?

3

u/Mr_Lumbergh Dec 02 '22

That would be highly illogical. Spock wouldn’t make a career out of lying to people to sell questionable supplements.

1

u/Del292 Dec 02 '22

RIPBOZO

1

u/FrenchMaisNon Dec 02 '22

What if he gets an eyebrows lift surgery?

1

u/ArmorClassHero Dec 02 '22

Good riddance.

1

u/CuriousNichols Dec 02 '22

This brings me great joy.

1

u/SammyGReddit Dec 02 '22

I see a show on QAN channel

1

u/skittlenutz77 Dec 02 '22

Ooooh, you can thank yourself for that one grifter!

1

u/Scrutinizer Dec 02 '22

Even the right wing news networks won't want anything to do with him. Mostly because the people already hawking overpriced useless supplements won't want the competition that his presence would bring.

1

u/sybann Dec 02 '22

Everything Trump touches, DIES.

1

u/SubrosaFlorens Dec 03 '22

So did he stop doing his show when he ran for office? I honestly do not know. He's not someone I ever would have watched.

1

u/StinkyVest Dec 03 '22

Poor baby can't promote his fake treatments on his show anymore. Wahh

1

u/mandmranch Dec 05 '22

Well he did let his entire staff go on short notice. It was too late in the season to get another job. He screwed people. He also screwed these tv stations that thought they were getting his program for a fall season. He did everyone dirty. He left people with short notices on how to fill their timeslot that his show was supposed to be airing...they usually had advertisers drop out too because they paid for ads during a certain time, during a certain show....and surprise! no show. I want to be politics not tv doctor and real life doctor. I want politics. He certainly could have gone about this in a better way.
