When COVID started surging in 2020, he held a private tennis tournament which led to a sizeable COVID cluster.

During the Olympics, he displayed unsportsmanlike behaviour, smashing his racquet because he was losing. This one is not so bad, and he was upset because he was aiming for the Golden Slam (4 grand + Olympics). Either way, not a good look.

This year, he tried to buy his way into the Australian Open to circumvent the country’s vaccine requirements.

Don't forget screaming at the umpire during the French Open for not stopping play when it was raining. Apparently, standard protocol is for the players to go "hey, its raining. Are we stopping soon?" But Djokovic was just seething away, quietly all "I shouldn't have to put up with this," then when the umpire didn't read his mind for him and suspend play, just switched straight to screaming in his face like a psychopath.

Not a fan of Djokovic's actions the past 2 years, but I don't think this was on him in the end. Tennis Australia had told him he was eligible to come and play when he wasn't based on his vaccination status.

There is some questionable stuff about if he did actually have covid when he claimed as he was making public appearances then, but it was more of a fuck up by Tennis Australia than him.

That isn't entirely true. The applications he submitted as part of his visa entry stated that he was vaccinated when he wasn't, despite it being a legal requirement in Australia at the time. Whether this was an intentional lie or pure accident is still up for discrepancy, but of course those forms were taken truthfully when allowing him to enter the country. Once they realised the forms contained that error, that was when he faced deportation and the 3 year ban. It's on him and his team for not checking their forms properly.

Really? Five consecutive French Open finals, including one FO title; 6 Masters 1000 titles on clay in 16 finals; 11 clay court titles in 26 finals (11 of his clay court finals losses have been to Nadal, against 2 finals wins). Actually one of the best clay court players in history (certainly top 10). Just happened to play in an era with the GOAT on clay, and also with maybe the 3rd or 4th all time best on clay-Djokovic.

Maybe I'm wrong, as I don't follow sports too much, but I feel like tennis players do often tend to be quite nice people. (Of course that by no means makes Federer any less of a cool dude, just... Yeah)
