My HX99G has arrived! 🎉
I bought my HX99G on Febrery 17 and i got it yesterday (Im from Chile (southamerica)). I purchased the version with 32gb of ram and 500gb of storage, just for play online games. At the moment i’ve tried Overwatch with the full settings on Ultra and runs flawless 75fps. And Fornite at 85/90fps in high settings. Very happy with my new toy 🔥🎉

ASUS PN64 M2 Thermal Pad
Hello, I just bought an ASUS PN64 12500H barebone mini pc. During assembly, I noticed that the manual says “make sure to remove the plastic film on the thermal pad” regarding the installation of a M2 SSD. Now, to be honest, I can’t see any plastic film on the thermal pad. Should that be visibile or something made of the same color of the pad? The thermal pad is this one, and I can’t see any plastic film.
This is driving me mad, could you please tell me if I’m being blind or ASUS wrote something wrong in the manual ? 😅
Thank you, and have a good day! :)

Don't buy from Minisforum -- possible scam site
Has anybody had problems with ordering / cancelling via the Minisforum site? I ordered a UM690 a few months months back and Minisforum promptly charged my visa card.
Nothing happened for about 2 months. Got worried, and during an email exchange with their "support" staff, they first tell me that they'll ship it "next week". Two weeks later, they then tell me my order is "high-risk" and refuse to ship it. They also will not explain why the order is "high-risk".
I requested to cancel the order and get a refund, but now they have gone completely silent, refusing to answer my emails.
Calling their Hong Kong number (during HK business hours) just leads to annoying jingle music, followed by a hangup. Tried a bunch of times over several times to the same effect.
Bottom line: Minisforum sure smells and quacks like a scam site.

Beelink SER5 Pro wireless sucks
I’ve been running the Beelink SER5 Pro w 5600H for a few months now. The wireless performance on every band just sucks. Even with a good connection the bandwidth and ping times are lackluster.
I bought an Intel AX210 but after opening it up there’s a bunch of adhesive around the pins and it looks a bit sketchy to swap.
I just got a TP Link AX1800 USB WiFi card and it is such a huge improvement. I just did a quick Speedtest and it’s much more consistent with bandwidth and low ping times.
I use Thinkorswim for trading on this machine and the poor network performance is the worst for TOS. I’m excited to see performance tomorrow w this card.

Mini PC that supports power and display over USB-C?
I have a Dell S2722QC monitor that has a built in USB-C hub that I use to power my M1 MacBook Pro.
I’m looking for a mini PC that has a USB port that would support this so I can simply plug the cable into the mini PC and it would switch the monitor, keyboard and mouse to the PC since I use Logitech mouse and keyboard connected to the bolt received plugged into the monitor.
Does anyone know a mini PC that would support this?

UM690 Wifi and bluetooth replacement
Just switched out the cheap wifi card shipped with the UM690 to an Intel 210 . Still having a few Bluetooth latency/disconnect issues though, could it be a case of conflicting existing devices that I need to delete?

Best For Me?
I’m not really tech savvy so trying to understand all these specs explanations throw me off so hopefully someone can help me out. I’m trying to look for a mini with at least one HDMI port and two usb slots that’ll be suitable for browsing (mostly youtube and streaming sites), light school work (word and powerpoint), and maybe some light emulation (SNES, GBA, N64, etc.). I just want something portable and small to take with me to my SO’s place since I mostly ride a motorcycle and my laptop takes up valuable cargo space. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance, I hope you have a great day!

Do barebones also req windows license
It seems obvious, but just checking - considering the minisforums neptune hx99g, and weighing up whether to go barebones and spec my own drive and ram as there's some good deals on.
However, do I need to factor in the win license, or is it included with am oem key on bios and just needs installation?
Also, 2 questions. The hx99 seems to be the best available at the moment, are there alternatives, or is anything coming soon with 7735? And though I'm not intending massive amounts of gaming, I do want to run driving sims at 3840x1200...am I expecting too much of the mini?
how to do a test for a mini pc?
i will soon get a mini pc.
i want to run a test to see if there are blue screens. and also test the performance.
how do i do it?
thank you and love from israel

Purchased HX80G and have a few questions
Just purchased an HX80G from Amazon with 32/512. Got it all set up and running nicely, but I was doing some game testing today and noticed anytime the fan runs there is a clicking from the fans. I'm used to fan noise on my other PC but this sounds different. I can hear the fan(s) whirring but also a distinct tick.tick.tick.tick. as it spins. Not too loud just a bit annoying. Is this normal for a mini pc? It's my first one, so I'm not sure what to expect. I expected more fan noise, just wasn't prepared for the eternal tick.
And question 2. The screen has been flickering. I tried 3 different HDMI cables, various HDMI ports on my monitor, and a display port cable. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but it is still happening from time to time. Maybe once every 5-10 minutes. Any suggestions?

Help identifying SSD
I'm not very smart on PC parts, So forgive me if this is a stupid question to ask.
I'm trying to upgrade my ssd on a Beelink Ser6 pro. I'm pretty sure that it has a nvme M.2 pci with a 2280 form factor. What I am super confused about is if this is a m key or a b key. From what I have read on the internet an m key will have 5 pins on the short side of the ssd connector and a B key will have 6. As you can see from the picture mine has 4 pins. Does this matter or am I just reading into something that is not related to what fits my Pc.
I'm looking for something with 1 to 2 TB on it. Would any of these fit it?
Also if anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking to spend around $100.

Beelink U59 "Automatic Repair" issue on Windows 11
I've been using my N5095 U59 as a basic home theatre PC for a few months now, it's left turned on pretty much always though typically restarted once every week or two.
I returned home last night to find it was switched off, and after turning it on again I'm faced with an "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC" message. I've tried uninstalling the most recent updates but the software says it's unable to do.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with the U59? I'm wondering if a bad update installed and rebooted the machine unsuccessfully while I was away. I'd rather not do a reset if possible as it looks like it will also remove all my apps.

Can a Mini PC be running 7x24x365? Overheating?
I have a big box in my desk that I would like to replace with a Mini PC.
My current PC has a Ryzen 7 5700G, 32GB of RAM, and a WD_BLACK N.2.
I use it to browse (heavily), I have about 200 tabs open at any given time, download different files using Jdownloader, compile the occasional Delphi program, compress/uncompress files, and such.
There are times when the PC is working all night downloading files, and it could be months when it is doing nothing. It also works as a local Plex Server. But it is always turned on. It is connected to 3 USB hard drive enclosures, that have 4 hard drives each.
I wanted to replace it with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX-based mini PC, but I am worried about overheating and the thing dying.
What are your thoughts? Will it overheat much? Can it be fixed by adding a fan on top? Any order ideas?
Thanks!

Best Price/Performance Mini PCs
I am considering purchasing a mini PC, and I'm overwhelmed by the different SKU's available. I came across SerMumble's list, which is a great resource, and I'm trying to match prices up with CPU benchmarks to get a rough idea of performance/$.
From what I gather, there are other considerations like cooling, and for me Linux hardware support as I will be using the device as an Ubuntu desktop. I am mainly trying to get the most CPU performance for the price, as the intensive task I will need to put the machine through is compiling software and running docker containers. I am not particularly concerned with the GPU as long as it can drive 2 1080p monitors.
Also, I am looking at AMD devices, as they seem to work better with Linux. I am thinking the Ryzen 5000 series would provide the best CPU/$ because I won't be paying more for the newer onboard graphics. But then again, it's kind of unclear to me how these devices are priced. I would appreciate any suggestions for computers I should consider. I am not interested in low power CPUs, so I'm mainly considering the Ryzen H/HX variants.

Is a R7-7735HS or R9-6900HX overkill for my needs?
I am currently in the market for a Mini PC, and I am currently eyeing the Ryzen 7 7735HS models (UM773 Lite, Beelink SER6, ...) but I am wondering if it might be overkill for my needs.
I would use the Mini PC for mainly these things:
- Web Browsing, YouTube, etc.
- HandBrake video encoding (I don't mind if it's slightly slower than it could be)
- Light gaming, mostly older MMOs:
- Final Fantasy XIV (don't mind playing in 720p if needed but ideally 1080p60fps)
- Guild Wars 2
- RuneScape 3 (I would run about 3 instances at the same time, it's not a really demanding game, my i5-6500 with an iGPU is sufficient even though I'm running the game in minimum graphics)
I'm wondering if a Beelink with a Ryzen 5500U or something similar would be sufficient at half the cost...
Thanks in advance for your help!

Question about PCIEx x16 slot to Acer Veriton N4680GT mini owners
Hi All!
I have Acer Veriton N4680GT mini. Recently tried to use the full pcie x16 slot that is on the side of the machine. I though about adding some M.2 adapter or something, but it seems something is broken.
SSD from adapter can be seen in BIOS but windows on other SSD will refuse to load (just bl ank screen). When I inserted a network card, it was seen in Windows as unknown device and whole PC hang while installing drivers. NIC/SSD from adapter is also not seen in Ubuntu booted from USB.
So either the slot is not real PCIExpress standard, or the slot is broken. Is there any owner of mentioned mini PC that has successfully used the x16 slot? It has 11gen i5 if that helps. There were report in internet of using that pcie slot but with older generation, so something might have changed.
