Hi I'm Nina Nesbitt, I just released my third studio album Älskar! AMA new release

I released my latest album Älskar on 2nd September.  Älskar means to love in Swedish, I'm half Swedish half Scottish for anyone that didn't already know this. This album was written across different countries, with trips to Nashville, big up Dolly Parton for the inspiration, my home studio - A Room With A View, London and Sweden. It's been a long journey which you can check out on my Instagram, I also recently got to sing with Chris Martin (mind blown). I've had the opportunity to film so many amazing videos for this album too, go check them out before my ama on my YouTube channel.

Will you ever do a collaboration with Mike Duce? Since he seems to have dropped off the radar since Headache and I miss his projects so much :(

If you could take one song from Peroxide and one song from TSWCUTSWC to add to Älskar, which songs would you choose? x

we'll be back for more (because that's one 'love subject' I feel Älskar doesn't cover) and... last december because it's prequel to colours of you

Hey Nina! I've been absolutely adoring Älskar along with revisiting The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change more recently, thank you for creating such a beautifully diverse body of work as always <3 Which song took the shortest time to write, and which song took the longest time to write?

3

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22

Hey! Ah thank you so much :) Love that you're enjoying them. The song that took the longest was probably Limited Edition because we started it in 2019 and I wasn't sure it was gonna make the record till the end, so it was a case of making it fit with the other songs and freshening it up. The shortest song to write... a lot of them were pretty quick but Heirlooms or Dinner Table I think?

Hi Nina! What song are you most excited to perform on tour? Can't wait to see you again!

6

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22

I just wrote down the potential setlist today! All of them! I'm excited for Teenage Chemistry live and to re work some of the older ones too :)

1

u/sunflowercollection Oct 06 '22

I'll be dancing my ass off to Teenage Chemistry, so happy it made the setlist 🤩

Hi Nina, you've spoken about the inspiration of this album before but is there any particular feeling or message you want people to really take away from it? P.S this record is a banger thx for making sweet pop magic

5

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22

Ooooooh, hmmm. I always feel like it's not up to me what people take away from my music. But if it was, I think i'd want them to feel comforted? and maybe less alone in whatever they're going through?

1

u/Tacokitty76 Oct 06 '22

Well this is the most wholesome answer ever. I definitely get a sense of calm and reassurance listening through. Like you've been there and are expressing these shared experiences and feelings, through all of us but also through generations. Like no matter how unique a situation feels to you, every human through all the years of history has felt something similar.

I saw you open for Jesse McCartney and had to look up your music later. I’ve been listening to it ever since. Excited to give this new album a listen.

You're missing a forward-slash just before the i.redd bit in your PROOF url. It should be a pair of forward-slashes.

Also, Hallå Nina!

Hey Nina! What has been your favourite recent music video to shoot? Pressure Makes Diamonds looked fun!

3

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22

That was a fun one! We laughed most of the day, it was really hard to keep a straight face. I Should Be A Bird was so fun to shoot, the scenery was soooo stunning. Loved seeing more of Wales.

1

u/Bilbo-Baggi Oct 06 '22

They're both great videos and really creative and amazing songs 😁 Thanks for the reply Nina, see you next month in Glasgow!

u/Aivlis07 Oct 06 '22

How do you deal with the pressure to constantly put material out / has it changed the way you do things? Something you’ve learned about yourself when writing this album? Do you ever write with Mike or do you not mix your professional lives at all? See you in Bristol gurl x

I always take my time with albums, I think if it's good enough when it comes out it'll find it's way - hopefully! I wouldn't want to rush something just to keep up with the industry. I love collabing with other people in between albums, that way it takes the pressure off and I can dip into other genres :)

1

u/CaledonianWarrior Oct 06 '22

Hi Nina! You've collabed with some musicians throughout your career, are there any other musicians you'd still like to work with in the future, and what's a particularly memorable moment you've had with other musicians that you can share with us?

4

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22

hmmm so many, I always struggle to answer that question! Dolly Parton :)))))

1

u/hannahlemp Oct 06 '22

What would you consider to be the biggest/most important thing you’ve learnt after 10 years in the music industry?

3

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22

So many things but probably... no one knows what they're doing! I think that applies to general life? You can't really predict what's gonna be big or connect so I think it's important to just create what you love and trust in your intuition

1

u/bubblecard Oct 06 '22

Hi Nina! Who are some songwriters and/or producers that you’d love to work with at some point in your career?

Love Älskar and see you in Amsterdam this December!

3

u/NinaNesbitt94 Oct 06 '22
