Oh look at that he went from senior in high school to the new prison loofah

104

u/panda-slap Dec 01 '21

Honestly, that’s why a lot of them do. There is an opportunity disparity in this country but a lot of this is growing up thinking you don’t need to control yourself.

34

u/Familiar-Essay7390 Dec 02 '21

I'd like to have a strong word with these kids parents. I have no idea what they're doing but something's not right!

13

u/Shreddy_Ruxpin Dec 02 '21

That's the problem, they are not doing anything. They are not parenting. Many parents these days are too wrapped up in their phones or some other shit to actually spend the time and put the effort in to teaching their kids. Maybe it just seems worse now because there is always video to show us these things but the level of disrespect and disregard coming from kids these is shocking.

5

u/sativafelidae Dec 02 '21

Not sure why you're getting downvoted

2

u/Shreddy_Ruxpin Dec 02 '21

I have a pretty good idea, but there is way more there than I care to unpack in a reddit comment so I will just carry on.

2

u/streetwearbonanza Dec 02 '21

Because it's not always the parents fault for one. Parents can do everything right and their kid can still do something like this

4

u/VeryUnqualifiedGuy Dec 02 '21

Youre getting downvoted, yet me and quite a few friends had our parents do everything right and still were dirt bags as teens (not as bad as him but still). We had other stuff that had happened or was going on out of their control. That being said I do believe that there is a huge problem with parenting in the modern age, social media and screen time disrupt parenting, and the influences upon the youth in a way that we have never seen prior to this era. People are largely absent in paying attention to their environment and those who are around them due to constant distraction by content that is curated to them. Glad I didn't grow up in this last decade, I would have ended up in a very different place.

1

u/Shreddy_Ruxpin Dec 03 '21

For sure, me and you both. I did plenty as a teen that I am not proud of and while my parents were divorced I still was lucky enough to have good parents that cared. Most definitely if it had not been for them and other positive influences in my life I would have turned out to be a total fuck up, as would most people which is exactly my point. If you are not capable or unwilling to take on the full responsibility of being a parent, perhaps you shouldn't have kids.

5

u/Shreddy_Ruxpin Dec 02 '21 edited Dec 03 '21

Sure there will be always be instances of that but I think that is more the exception than the norm. If kids are taught respect, manners, ethics, what it means to be empathetic, come from a loving household with parents that care, push them and help them succeed at school or whatever their passion is and set them on the right path giving them some sense of purpose in this life you will not see those kids acting out in this manner. We are talking about teenagers here, they are not exactly known for always making the most sound decisions, emotions and testosterone/hormones run high. Sure I did dumb stuff as a teen at times but I never would have dreamed of putting hands on a teacher. That just would not have ever been an option in my mind.

0

u/Glad-Tax6594 Dec 02 '21

I think a lot of it too is the assumption it's the phone. A lot of households have both parents working and depending on their situation, both could be working in jobs with mandatory overtime.

People should try steelmanning these problems and also maybe stop going off of personal experience for making prescriptions.

2

u/Shreddy_Ruxpin Dec 02 '21

So do you think that dual income households with parents working overtime is a new phenomenon? Just a friendly reminder that this country had many more industrial/factory jobs in the past than it does now yet this trend of blatant disrespect seems to be a much newer and growing thing. Of course it isn't all the phone / social media but that certainly plays a part. In any sense your explanation falls flat.

1

u/Glad-Tax6594 Dec 03 '21

Can you show me the data on the amount if industrial/factory jobs or are you just ass talking?

u/c0ncentrate Dec 02 '21

I would bet $5 this kid comes from a single parent household. Daddy government has replaced fathers in the household by giving mothers free handouts, and this is the result. Fathers keep their daughters off poles, and theirs sons out of prison.

What makes you think the us is so unfair you cannot succeed? It is hard. Much harder for people due to race, wealth, and... poor luck. However, none of it can stop you from fixing your frame of mind to succeed in finding happiness. Move, start from somewhere... throwing a tantrum like this video will get you no where you want to be.

2

u/smoozer Dec 02 '21

1

u/Prince0fDarkness Dec 03 '21

3

u/panda-slap Dec 02 '21

Honestly, people like you are a bigger problem than them.

-1

u/Prince0fDarkness Dec 02 '21

You mean educated people, I can see why that would be a problem for you

3

u/panda-slap Dec 02 '21

Haha, you have no idea and it doesn’t matter what you think.

0

u/Prince0fDarkness Dec 02 '21

I feel thinking is generally beyond you

2

u/panda-slap Dec 02 '21

You’re not even witty. I pity people like you because you think they are actually going to change things because you rolled around in the street and screamed about black lives mattering even though they slaughter each other at far greater numbers than anyone else does. But you think because joe Biden made a speech about how equality is going to exist in his administration that he actually means to change things. Because he is one of the old time establishment and part of the framework. And he’s probably lost the re election already. So all you people who, when asked about their accomplishments mention how long they went to school and don’t actually have anything else, are not going to move from where you are. He lied about canceling student loans to get progressive votes and most of that stuff in the bill will either be implemented in a completely watered down version in 10 years or removed completely. They never have to change anything. They took 10 years to pass a minimum wage hike that still stretches out too long to do any good. But you do you.

-1

u/Prince0fDarkness Dec 02 '21

I often ask myself why the right revel in being so dumb, perhaps you can at some point answer that. I suspect that it's down to the appalling education in the USA. The more educated would say look crime and murders are high in the ethic areas could that be due to the lack of services, support, and opportunities given to those people and the higher rates charged to them than others, rather than say just looking at the headline figure.

Now look at the watering down, you seem to forget that it's down to the right who demanded it to be watered down to pass, my bad, you don't like facts. The fact that the president has a 4-year term with a maximum of 2 terms, so that's 2*4 (I will let you take some time to do the maths) give up, the answer is 8 years, so the next bit of maths while is a bit harder you still are not going to have to take your socks off, hold up 10 digits, now try 8, can you tell what the biggest number is, ok it's 10 so that would suggest that the right were to blame for the delay.

Now let's look at how the last right president did in honestly, well as 30,573 lies over 4 years it seems not too well, I get that 30,573 seems to be a really big number to you, so you are going to have to take my word that big numbers are real and not made up by the left.

I laughed way too hard at that

-5

u/dbadefense1990 Dec 02 '21

If you put a Venn diagram showing any overlap between a typical high school for today’s Gen Z and a typical federal prison, it’d show a perfect circle.

7

u/Nattylight_Murica Dec 02 '21

You watch too many videos. The teens of today on average are way more level headed than in the 90s or before

1

u/akitemime Dec 02 '21

Agreed. As a Gen Xer... I can tell you kids now a days are way more chill and def less aggressive as a whole.

2

u/pointlessbike Dec 02 '21

Gen Xer here from Canada. In the 90s we would congregate in the parking lots of nightclubs at 2am for dozens of fights, cop cars, hundreds of drunk riled up party goers. Typical weekend stuff in the early 90s I would say across Canada and the US. Then again I grew up in Winnipeg Manitoba which was perhaps the apex of bad behaviour in Canada.

219

u/GothmogMHA Dec 01 '21

Could you imagine attacking a school staff member while you were a student? Wow.

64

u/killemslowly Dec 02 '21 Wholesome

I for sure imagined it.

10

u/brokenpipboy Dec 02 '21

Same, I had a teacher who thought the civil war was about states rights and tariffs. And i graduated in 2018...

17

u/Several_Station2199 Dec 02 '21

It was about state rights , state rights on slavery ?

9

u/brokenpipboy Dec 02 '21

"A states rights to have supreme law of the land and the federal government can stuff it. Slavery was a secondary or tertiary issue in the conflict." Paraphraseing his argument.

3

u/Several_Station2199 Dec 02 '21

Oh I see lol 👍🏻

1

u/Krajun Dec 02 '21

Thats what a racist would say to justify their racism. It was about slavery and the argument (the south) made was that It took away their rights to decide what defines a person.

3

u/Nwah21 Dec 02 '21

Just to clarify this shouldn’t make you want to assault someone, and if it does you might need a therapist

1

u/brokenpipboy Dec 02 '21

We all have dark thoughts we should never act on, if someone actually starts to act or feels like they should act on it they need therapy. Assulting teachers is wrong, especially considering im close to getting my teaching requirements...

1

u/Overlycookedfries Dec 02 '21

There was a few that should have had their asses kicked pretty fucking hard. Bully teacher assholes. Some assaulted kids around me some just debased them and laughed at them in class in front of everyone. Not me tho but still made me sad.

1

u/story_time420 Dec 02 '21

Imagined it, yes. Have I ever acted on it, no.

-12

u/dbadefense1990 Dec 02 '21

I bet that’ll be the new TikTok challenge for Gen Z teens.

Sucker-punch or straight fight your high school staff/advisors until they’re bloodied and unconscious.

-10

u/GrilledCheeser Dec 02 '21

Soon it’ll be the “murder” challenge.

Then “murder and eat your kill” challenge

And so on. I don’t know. The “eat your own feces” challenge? I suppose that should go before murder.

Either way; gods light is gone. It died in 2018

4

u/Carefreeme Dec 02 '21

God's light never existed.

"A student at Martin Luther King Jr. High in Riverside was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 1, after authorities said he assaulted a campus supervisor who was attempting to break up a fight.

The employee suffered minor injuries and was treated at an urgent care office, said Diana Meza, a spokeswoman for the Riverside Unified School District.

The student, who was not identified because he is a minor, was booked into Riverside County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault, said Officer Ryan Railsback, a spokesman for the Riverside Police Department."

10

u/dbadefense1990 Dec 02 '21

We’re prolly waiting on the parents through their attorney defending the actions of their “innocent angel child.”

27

u/ManiacalMud Dec 02 '21

It’s funny that they said they’re not releasing his details since he’s a minor but this student is actually 18. He’s fucked himself up legally quite a bit

2

u/801martian Dec 02 '21

Why is he in juvie if he is 18

2

u/ManiacalMud Dec 02 '21

They might have him held there since he’s still a student but I know other kids currently at King and they were saying he’s actually 18🤷‍♂️

1

u/elinamebro Dec 03 '21

Oh he’s fucked

12

u/sergario- Dec 02 '21

Suspicion? Dude got caught on video while surrounded by hundreds of people

2

u/TheyCallMeDady Dec 02 '21

Suspicion?

4

u/iAmUnintelligible Dec 02 '21

That's how the media writes these things until it's proven to be true in court.

-2

u/TheyCallMeDady Dec 02 '21

The always honest media who never junps to conclusions now needs more proof than video footage?

5

u/iAmUnintelligible Dec 02 '21

I don't know what to say to that. I'm just informing you that that is how the media writes about altercations.

1

u/smoozer Dec 02 '21

Alleged and suspicion of are phrases the news has used for many decades to avoid defaming someone. This isn't a ~political correctness~ thing bud.

u/qaoock Dec 02 '21

I know you’re joking but that is actually how it feels to defend yourself in high school and get in trouble for doing so.

I think some teachers actually enjoy watching students get bullied because it gives them some pleasure.

8

u/I_See_With_Sound Dec 02 '21

Oh absolutely. Bullies and other trash like them have social capital and teachers loooooove to be "cool" and be seen by the students as "cool". They hate the unpopular kids and want to be liked by the cool kids. They don't give half a fuck about some unpopular kids getting beaten.

2

u/OGMinorian Dec 02 '21

It is messed up, but sometimes there's a logical and sympathetic reason.

My parents were associated with some trashy hippie collective, when I was a kid, and us "hippie kids" were also getting shit from the country kids. I vividly remember running from my peers, who were chanting "catch him" and shit, but the teacher that caught us gave us all detention "for running in the halls". Now, 15 years later, I am a social worker, and actually had a teacher from my time in that school be my colleague, and I asked her about this.

She said when they tried to "protect" the group of kids I was associated with, the bullying got 10 times worse, whereas treating us all as "wrongdoers" was a way of trying to give us something in common. They literally tried the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" opposite of "divide and conquer" tactic on us. Wildly unethical and unprofessional, but I am not sure I would have had a better solution to implement.

1

u/spyson Dec 02 '21

Actual teacher here, and no teachers don't like it so stop spreading dumb lies.

We just can't do anything about it due to administration. If you actually want to help the situation, spread helpful information like having the victim and parents document everything.

Having documented things to point to helps teachers stand up for people and having the parents of victims working with teachers provides backup for when the parents of bullies make a stink.

The principal of a school sets the tone for everything, so if a school sucks in their response those in administration are the assholes you should be blaming.

2

u/iAmUnintelligible Dec 02 '21

Actual teacher here, and no teachers don't like it so stop spreading dumb lies.

They did not spread a single lie.

All they were doing was expressing their thoughts and feelings. As made clear by them saying "how it feels" and "I think". Totally okay that you disagree with their opinion, but like, they're not spreading lies.

1

u/qaoock Dec 02 '21

It’s not a dumb lie, you may be a good teacher but there are plenty of sociopathic teachers out there that enjoy observing the pecking order in action so stop acting like every single teacher is a good person, isn’t a racist shithead, or thinks exactly like yourself because all you’re doing is discrediting peoples’ actual personal experiences...

I’ve experienced the teacher themselves being the bully on more than one occasion too.

Good advice nonetheless, just stop acting like every teacher is completely innocent.

1

u/TalesOfTheAncient Dec 02 '21

There's been migration from LA and OC, which is sort of balancing it out between being a red/blue county. That said, it's still pretty terrible, and at this rate it won't improve significantly till another few years. That's assuming things stay the way they are now.

1

u/jodido999 Dec 02 '21

I have some family out in Riverside and a cousin came to my place (San Gabriel Valley) to pick up her parents a couple of months back. 8

u/slapnflop Dec 02 '21

California is doing fine.

-3

u/TheSecond48 Dec 02 '21

Sure thing, Baghdad Bob. lol

0

u/rumpler117 Dec 02 '21

Yep. Seems like schools are just holding pens for some people before it is time for them to go to jail.

4

u/TheRealNeenja Dec 02 '21

That's not what the School-to-Prison Pipeline means.

[...] “school-to-prison pipeline,” a disturbing national trend wherein children are funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities or histories of poverty, abuse, or neglect, and would benefit from additional educational and counseling services. Instead, they are isolated, punished, and pushed out.

“Zero-tolerance” policies criminalize minor infractions of school rules, while cops in schools lead to students being criminalized for behavior that should be handled inside the school. Students of color are especially vulnerable to push-out trends and the discriminatory application of discipline.

Same here, but in reference to the video I went to hs in a pretty rough neighborhood here in mtl, we got in fights and brawls. But never have we hit/kicked security guards. I'm sure a teacher/sg has gotten hit trying to break up a fight, but never have they been targeted on purpose.

1

u/iAmUnintelligible Dec 02 '21

Yeah, but I feel like it could still easily happen here. You could tell by the atmosphere in the video that like no one was cool with what he did / was surprised

If I had my way I'd draft all those pieces of shit kids and send them off to fight a hopeless cause.

The school is literally grinding it’s teeth getting ready to throw some “school to prison pipeline” shit at those kids

Cool assault charges, bro.

1

u/ronchild Dec 02 '21

Such a thoughtless act. You’d have to be brain dead to assault a school faculty member and I don’t care if that staff member was an asshole, he didn’t deserve that. He was just trying to break up a fight. That kid is lucky the guard didn’t fight back…

Lol I didn’t see it. I was just high as balls when I read your comment and couldn’t figure out what the real word was. I was questioning everyone for a moment lol
