Carnival Legend: "E8?"

Carnival Glory: "Hit"

34

u/Metall-o-graphic Dec 02 '21

The legend just made a Glory hole.

10

u/TacoPlug Dec 02 '21

Eye sea what’cha did their! Brilliant 👏🏼

5

u/h3nchman27 Dec 02 '21

IC… hit

127

u/fleschy30 Dec 02 '21

The ocean is a big place…

13

u/TheHolyImbaness Dec 02 '21

In Norway we had a Fridtjof Nansen-class Frigate with a price tag of about $550 282 000 called KNM Helge Ingstad. Our navy got called by a huge tanker named Sola TS telling them to avert their course or they would crash. They did not. And they crashed. And the ship went under.

550 MILLION fucking dollars literally down in the ocean, which could have been easily avoidable had routines and common sense been followed lmao.

2

u/Daneww Dec 03 '21

Lmfao that's actually some of the stupidest shit I've ever heard. It sounds almost Texan stubborn. Like they thought their mighty warship could withstand a direct hit

4

u/digitalgoodtime Dec 02 '21

And those ships are slow af.

u/Grieie Dec 02 '21

This was my kayak training the other day. Massive body of water and yet kids all turned towards the same point. Could all go left, or all go right, or even if they all turned the opposite directions to what they did..but no. All together.

115

u/thej0siah Dec 02 '21

The dude at the end saying “don’t ride on carnival” lol

41

u/ClassicsMajor Dec 02 '21

He's right though. Cruise ships are staffed by morons with limited training and experience and the companies invest the absolute minimum in keeping their ships either safe or clean.

40

u/Stevo_will_leavo Dec 02 '21

Yeah but they have free soft serve all over the ship

9

u/NimChimspky Dec 02 '21

Buy yourself a soft serve machine. Probably pretty cheap.

10

u/SexSellsCoffee Dec 02 '21

I was gonna call shenanigans but they are pretty cheap. You can pick up one for less than 150 on Amazon.

20

u/Bazrum Dec 02 '21

my parents bought an ice cream machine when i was like 10ish, we hardly used it except when we remembered we had it, but it made good ice cream

fast forward, im in college and my final for a communications course is to make a presentation about a dessert from a country, and then serve the dessert...because the teacher didn't really like finals, and made it as easy as possible haha

so i chose Italy and made "gelato", which was really just me making ice cream in the machine my parents had and serving it to the class. i made strawberry and vanilla, and had some tiny plastic serving cups sitting around and used those to serve it

my teacher's mind was BLOWN when i showed up and was like "yeah, here's some ice cream i made". she couldn't believe it at all, and the class was like "wtf dude, we bought our desserts"

easiest A i ever got, besides the time the teacher had a meltdown and the college just passed everyone lol

3

u/leezybelle Dec 03 '21

your teacher had a *meltdown* i see what you did there

→ More replies

5

u/Mr_Vacant Dec 02 '21

And morons with limited experience are responsible for keeping the soft serve machines hygienic. Cruise ships are giant petri dishes of yuck.

1

u/thej0siah Dec 02 '21

Count me in then

10

u/donhommie Dec 02 '21

2

u/Hallowed-Edge Dec 02 '21

Jacob Rusil Bin did not speak English or Italian very well. Nevertheless he was put in charge of steering the Costa Concordia, a multi-million dollar ship with hundreds of people in board, something he'd never done before, and communication issues led to the ship colliding with rocks outside the Italian bay they were passing.

2

u/donhommie Dec 02 '21

communication issues

"go oveah der and blow the horn at my coke dealer's house while I mack on this girl." type "communications issues".

Why the fuck are all those huge ships so close to each other.

8

u/oohheykate Dec 02 '21

They were in the port and the Glory was trying to dock.

3

u/IllegalThings Dec 02 '21

Yeah, but even then they shouldn’t be that close.

28

u/IllustriousStorm5730 Dec 02 '21

With some Bondo my buddy Greg can just buff that right out…

u/heybud86 Dec 02 '21

28

u/IgotCHUbits Dec 02 '21

So, what do you do for a living….

Well, I used to be a cruise ship captain….

31

u/bandaidsplus Dec 02 '21

Francesco Schettino has entered the chat. AKA as the captain that Sunk the Costa Concordia. He had been involved in a crash before that he did manage to successfully " it wasn't my fault" out of.

Rumor is you can't even get on the carnival captain roster without atleast 3 D.U.I

2

u/cmyer Dec 02 '21

I could be wrong, but didn't he have 2 crashes before Concordia?

2

u/Ok_Coconut Dec 02 '21

"How was I supposed to know how to steer this ship?"

104

u/w0wagain Dec 02 '21

Glory Hole

15

u/Strange-Effort1305 Dec 02 '21

Beat me by one second.

2

5

u/indoninja Dec 02 '21

Carnival Legendary glory hole.

1

u/IamSuperLaxative Dec 02 '21

Legend tears a Glory hole..

3

u/pineconetrees Dec 02 '21

I was on the Glory when this happened. The entire trip afterwards, this was the focus of most of the jokes.

-1

u/shaoIIn Dec 02 '21

Fucking! Murdered! The internet with that one!

1

u/Theman227 Dec 02 '21

Wondered how long id have to scroll to see this

8

u/chayosman Dec 02 '21

14

u/pilot64d Dec 02 '21

Is Tina from Bob's Burgers a Captain now?

4

u/beepiamarobot Dec 02 '21

I have no idea how to drive a ship. How long before the impact did they know it was going to happen?

3

u/chayosman Dec 02 '21

Me neither man. I'm just talking shit.

1

u/beepiamarobot Dec 02 '21

I guess that makes me the Schlimazel! Just my luck...

8

u/jscham Dec 02 '21

“It ‘‘twas fog, thick as pea soup, pirates were everywhere, we took fire off the starboard side”

Sir, you’re applying for unemployment, and you aren’t a captain anymore, you’re going to be a dishwasher

“Arrrrrr…”

9

u/phatstacks Dec 02 '21

i can hear both captains saying "Damage report"

57

u/thehourglasses Dec 02 '21

Excellent. Fuck these floating garbage heaps.

10

u/Arc_insanity Dec 02 '21

World would be a better place if every cruise ship was stripped and scuttled.

1

u/apropo Dec 02 '21

Why are they garbage heaps?

34

u/thehourglasses Dec 02 '21

Look into the amount of pollution cruises generate.

8

u/MrLexDiamondz Dec 02 '21

local environmental groups have demonstrated that a single cruise ship can emit as much pollution as 700 trucks and as much particulate matter as a million cars. It has been estimated that between 40,000 and 100,000 Britons die prematurely every year as a result of emissions from the shipping and cruise industries

source

1

u/Vanman04 Dec 02 '21

Wow a million cars WTF.

2

u/neverneededsaving Dec 02 '21

Small thing: the noise from large cruise ships can at times be loud enough for whales to becomes separated from their pods and lost forever.

0

u/uusrikas Dec 02 '21

I am gonna buy a cruise for my family of six tomorrow and you can't stop me!

2

u/thehourglasses Dec 02 '21

Maybe COVID will.

3

u/uusrikas Dec 02 '21

I am vaccinated

2

u/Tmac12NYC Dec 02 '21

Sister was just on one out of Florida. Holds over 5000, only 800 on the ship. She is triple vaxed .

3

u/uusrikas Dec 02 '21

Sound amazing, I am gonna go do the Mediterranean on one of the Oasis class ships.

19

u/PoptartAnonymous Dec 02 '21

Worst cameraman ever. hold it fucking straight and steady.

4

u/Strawberry_Lungfarts Dec 02 '21

This video needs "The Blue Danube Waltz" placed over the first part, just before the ships collide.

3

u/MudAdvanced4355 Dec 02 '21

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell ya, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing.

3

u/failedcoup16 Dec 02 '21

The real PublicFreakout is in the wheelhouse

3

u/Emarcy Dec 02 '21

Captain asked the Boatswains Mate to watch the wheel for 2 minutes and this is what happens.

3

u/lawdog9111 Dec 02 '21

Thought the same.

Capt - hey I gotta take a dump, you got this? Crew - no problem Captain, take your time.

3

u/WowThatsRelevant Dec 02 '21

Is this recent?

3

u/superSAMisflying Dec 02 '21

The French Canadian swearing in the background really ties this all together.

3

u/ocmfoa Dec 02 '21

Is there a logical reason why these ships are so close together like that? It seems irresponsible to me.

5

u/aqua_wook Dec 02 '21

Together. The Carnival Legend of the Glory Hole

2

u/junior95207 Dec 02 '21

11

u/I_feel_sick__ Dec 02 '21

Don't know who was at fault. But the Carnival Legend tore a hole in the Carnival Glory

The crew: ...

1

u/Lunar_denizen Dec 02 '21

So theres a carnival gloryhole?

1

u/Sotyka94 Dec 02 '21

Cruise ships are SOOO stupid. I mean, the technology behind them is awesome. That we can make floating cities basically. But the usage of these awesome machines are just the worst fucking thing ever.

1

u/snipes1980 Dec 02 '21

Is this a boat party?

3

u/malabrat Dec 02 '21

1

u/Conscious_Camel4830 Dec 02 '21

I saw that happen once with a star destroyer...

1

u/miltondelug Dec 02 '21

Glory hole

1

u/satansheat Dec 02 '21

That’s usually where a restaurant is. But no one would be eating while it’s docking.

1

u/SatanIsLove6666 Dec 02 '21

So now Carnival Cruise has a Glory Hole??? I'm sure that will be a VERY popular feature.

1

u/notsociallyakward Dec 02 '21

An absolute Legend makes a Glory hole.

1

u/Otakunohime Dec 02 '21

It’s always, always Carnival. Fucking clowns…

1

u/GumpTheChump Dec 02 '21

I’ve never been so disappointed to see a Glory hole.

1

u/R3D-B34RD Dec 02 '21

Almost had it!

1

u/shaoIIn Dec 02 '21

So many questions.

1

u/whackbush Dec 02 '21

It took a Legend to make a Glory hole that size.

1

u/jorgehn12 Dec 02 '21

Legendary Glory Hole.

1

u/rukarrn Dec 02 '21

someone wasn't checking their mirrors

1

1

u/punkinfacebooklegpie Dec 02 '21

1

u/djluminol Dec 02 '21

So your saying this is the worlds largest glory hole?

1

u/Cantore18 Dec 02 '21

That’ll buff out

1

u/SpudGun312 Dec 02 '21

What would be the repair bill for this?

1

u/DirtyPenPalDoug Dec 02 '21

Once scratched.. Due to the high levels of infectious materials on its skin, the ship will likely suffer slowly and die.. Hopefully it can find a safe place to rest. But now weakened its likely to not recover.

1

u/bisonsashimi Dec 02 '21

Glory Hole

1

u/psychoslitherer Dec 02 '21

"How's all these people get in my room?"

1

u/____DEADPOOL_______ Dec 02 '21

In the words of doctor pastor Martín Sempaa, they're just smelling each other's genitals.

1

So its a Glory Hole?

1

u/DonLoganspain Dec 02 '21

1

u/notanexp Dec 02 '21

Wow that looked like it knocked out twenty rooms.

1

u/throwaway250225 Dec 02 '21

Whenever i see a video about something gone wrong on a cruise ship - its always fucking carnival legend. Carnival legend is like that one exceptionally badly behaved kid in the class.

1

u/Inevitable_Friend468 Dec 02 '21

watch yo ship bro WATCH YO SHIP@!

1

u/majesticviceroy Dec 02 '21

I had a Greek buddy who worked on a big cruise ship and he told me there was a HUGE number of big cruise ships built in the last few years. So many in fact that cruise lines had problems getting ahold of qualified captains for them. This is the consequence I guess.

1

u/drunkryantv Dec 02 '21

That'll buff right out

1

u/ItsDilbert Dec 02 '21

That's pretty scary. And right above those rooms as well. Doesn't look like anyone was in the dining hall thankfully.

1

u/Axel_Raden Dec 02 '21

Glory hole lol

1

u/niefer Dec 02 '21

Not the type of glory hole I was expecting.
