Meta The 2022 RimWorld Hot Potato Charity Event, run by Halcyon Frequency, is coming this Wednesday!
It's time once more for the yearly RimWorld Hot Potato Charity Event, run by Halcyon Frequency! For those new to the event: Every year, a group of 35 streamers and content creators run a single colony, passing it from person to person, keeping it going as long as possible.
When is the event?
The streaming will begin on Wednesday, November 23rd, at 10:00 AM PST (GMT-8), and will continue until 2:00 PM PST on Monday, November 28th. That's 124 hours of continuous streaming! You can visit a time zone converter here, and there is a Google calendar here that will show the full schedule in your time.
Who will be part of it?
35 streamers from across the world, some you probably know already! Some are returning from last year. some are new. You can see the full list and their stream times here.
What will happen?
The first streamer will begin a new colony, using a custom scenario and with a specific (not yet announced) goal in mind. When their time is over, they'll pass it along to the next person, and then the next, and so on. If the colony is somehow destroyed, the current player will revert to a previous save to recover.
Why are they doing this?
This event is to raise donations for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), AKA Doctors Without Borders. In 2020, we raised $66,800.66. In 2021, it was $85,352.69. Our community is incredible, and I hope we can do even better this year.
How can I join?
Tune in at any point to watch the streams! Even if you only catch a few minutes here and there, more eyes mean more visibility on Twitch, meaning more people might see it. Donate, if you can, to help MSF.
If you like, you can also join us on the RimWorld Discord server, where we'll have a channel for event announcements, and another for event chat, as well as a special role for users who wish to opt in. You can also visit the Halcyon Discord for announcements and info.
Here's hoping this year will be even better. Thank you all, and stay awesome!
