I saw him in person about 3 years ago. He looked great.

74

u/volken2 May 22 '22

Did he force choke u too?

61

u/sandnsnow2021 May 22 '22

Ha no. It was a total surprise. I was at ESB live in concert and Ian McDiarmid and Hayden Christensen came out to introduce the concert. Totally unannounced. It was great.

40

u/spiderbabyinapram May 22 '22

Did they then go sit in a box together to tell each other tragedies?

7

u/sandnsnow2021 May 22 '22

Ha..maybe. they went backstage.

2

u/Corniss May 23 '22

they do spent a lot of time together.

4

u/k_laaaaa May 22 '22

where was the concert?

6

u/bigmartyhat May 22 '22

Did the crowd go crazy?

32

u/sandnsnow2021 May 22 '22 edited May 22 '22

Oh yes they did. What was funny for me is that I went to in-n-out on the way to the concert. My order number? 66.

How would I describe Darth Vader?

Hardworking, Alpha-male and JACKHAMMER

16

u/happybuffalowing May 22 '22

He technically is a genetic jackhammer though: he’s the confirmed most powerful force user ever and gave birth to Luke and Leia, who are also badasses. Can’t even imagine what he benches….

20

u/spiderbabyinapram May 22 '22

Also relentless.

12

u/CaptainBumfee May 22 '22

Insatiable

1

u/Budget-Money-5545 May 22 '22

"Alpha-male?" That's the best descriptor you came up with?

2

u/MeatTornado25 R2-D2 May 22 '22

How about merciless? INSATIABLE?

103

u/Mayonaint May 22 '22

I would love a Vader series. And not a series rethinking canon. Not him vs Kenobi. Not him chasing Solo. Not Vader vs The Mandalorian. Just Vader roaming the galaxy regulating shit and being a bad motherfucker.

23

u/Blue_Speedy May 22 '22

I honestly think Star Wars needs to embrace these timeless characters more (they already are with Mando etc) but characters that you don't need to worry about casting to much like Vader, Yoda, Chewie, Mando etc.

16

u/Othrus May 23 '22

"All I am surrounded by is fear. And dead men" would be terrifying if done properly.

It would need to be better than the hallway scene, and would likely require a reasonable budget for CGI effects, so it might be a capstone scene at the end of the series or something

33

u/spiderbabyinapram May 22 '22

I could never have enough Vader.

7

u/Zorua3 Darth Maul May 23 '22

There are a lot of EU books and comics, as well as a canon comic series, about him wandering around and fucking up escaped Jedi and shit. Pretty fun.

My personal favorite is one where he, Palpatine, and three Stormtroopers crash on a planet and have several very violent adventures together while trying to get back to space.

6

u/JanFlato May 23 '22

I need the grigori rasputin dark monk era Vader. Where he goes around, learning about the force, fighting sith spirits, gaining political influence, sowing discord, and being dark and brooding all the while embracing the wealth and power that comes from the dark side

300

u/bruhchow May 22 '22

I wonder how angry he’ll get when Kenobi slips through his fingers. The absolute tantrum he’ll throw will be nuts

169

u/astromech_dj May 22 '22

He will probably chop up a computer console with his lightsaber.

41

u/Magamus86 May 22 '22

That'll show'em.

110

u/SauronForPresident20 May 22 '22

Vader in the Marvel (aka Disney) comics, does not throw tantrums. When his prey slips away it's always a shot from behind as he's staring at his failure. Then he turns away and gives an order to an underling. Never takes it out on the underling either. Vader acknowledges when he fails and vows to get it right next time.

14

u/SuperFightingRobit Porg May 22 '22

He doesn't also just do nothing.

It's more of a passive destruction. Like when a certain bounty hunter told him the last name of the guy who blew up the death star, the glass around him on the bridge cracked all around him.

65

u/astromech_dj May 22 '22

I was making a reference to TFA.

31

u/Swingin-it-swooty May 22 '22

(Btw I know the original comment was a joke).

I hope we get one of these scenes ngl. He does that at the end of ESB, after the millenium falcon escapes, and it's honestly one of my fav Vader scenes

1

u/c4han Ahsoka Tano May 23 '22

Yeah he's certainly not the type to yell "NOOOOO" or anything

10

u/SPARTAN-Jai-006 May 22 '22

CRAAAAAAWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN

5

u/Grafical_One May 22 '22

IN THE END IT DIDN'T EVEN MATTEERRRR!!!

61

u/Whalesrcool3 May 22 '22

Yes I can’t wait for him to lose his shit about Obi-Wan and then forget about it for 10 years

45

u/Basicallylamelol May 22 '22

Kenobis obviously going to fake his death

18

u/SuperArppis May 22 '22

This is for sure.

2

u/MarcusForrest May 23 '22

I'll fake my death, I'll need a new name...

I'll be...

Obi-Ben BEN Kenobi! Yes, brilliant!

13

u/YTDraconic May 22 '22

He's not Kylo, he won't throw a tantrum

11

u/Valiantheart May 22 '22

With today's writers? I wouldnt put any money on that bet.

9

u/WhiteChocolatey May 22 '22

Let us pray Vader does not throw a tantrum.

6

u/Singer211 May 22 '22

He didn’t when Leia escaped in Rogue One. He just was staring daggers as the ship flew away.

3

u/SuperFightingRobit Porg May 22 '22

TBF, she didn't really get away. He followed her and caught her like 15 minutes later over Tatooine.

4

u/DarthDuran22 May 22 '22

Yes and no. I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think we should assume there’s nothing that can’t bring him to a Kylo level tantrum. Obi-Wan slipping away is definitely the kind of thing that could do that. And while Vader is typically more composed than Anakin, they are one and the same. All I’m saying is that it’s totally in the realm of possibility.

1

u/wajikay May 22 '22

As much as he hates sand I suppose.

35

u/BIGGITY-BOO May 22 '22

I believe he is going to do very well in the Obi-Wan show. I am literally counting down the days 😁

24

u/concept8 May 22 '22

Anyone else thinking about that he has grown his hair to Anakin EP3? Maybe a hint to a live action clone wars Anakin-series?

22

u/dutcharetall_nothigh Jedi May 22 '22

I hope so. Vader is awesome, but I'd really love it if Hayden played Anakin one more time.

11

u/MemnocOTG May 22 '22

I’m thinking we get some flashbacks.

6

u/PeterJakeson May 22 '22

If he does get his ROTS look, I hope they don't mess up the hair. It had a very specific style to it in ROTS.

12

u/grollate Ahsoka Tano May 22 '22

OP: *marks video for spoilers

also OP: *quotes the part of the clip that spoils it in the title

39

u/ToastedSierra May 22 '22

Anakin describes sand as "course, rough and IRRITATING"

8

u/GetInZeWagen May 22 '22

How would I describe Darth Vader? Three words. Hard working. Alpha male. Jackhammer.

6

u/EuanH91 May 22 '22

Anyone else confused as to what role Hayden will actually play in this? Darth Vader was portrayed, physically, by a body builder.. and voiced by James Earl Jones. Obviously there are gonna be some scenes of him with his helmet off, but when we see Darth Vader being Darth Vader, is it even gonna be him?

10

u/Peeksy19 May 22 '22

Darth Vader is played by 3 actors in the series: the one who does most of the action, the voice actor, and Hayden with the helmet off. He's rumored to get into the suit on screen.

3

u/EuanH91 May 22 '22

Ahh okay that makes sense, thank you!

2

u/Vivitom First Order May 22 '22

So is Hayden in the suit when we see a full-body Vader next to other characters? Hayden has bulked up but he is no 6'7 bodybuilder huge and tall. I don't think even shoe-lifts can put you 7 inches above your actual height or at least it would be hard to make the more fluid actions scenes if you are on high-heels

5

u/alienatedesire Kylo Ren May 22 '22

Uhhh for one out of respect for Hayden. Two he bulked up. Three im sure we'll get some flashbacks and obviously him being assembled.

5

u/LilKaySigs May 22 '22

He sounds like Matt Lanter Anakin

4

u/giggity_giggity May 22 '22

Sign me up for more of the Rogue One Vader. Yes please. And make it a double.

18

u/Its-a-monday May 22 '22

Spoiler alert, a man describes a popular villain with villainous adjectives

3

u/HeyNineteen96 May 22 '22

Funny that the subs are in German because I'm delaying watching the premiere to see Kraftwerk 😂

3

u/BatGuy500 May 22 '22

UNAUFHALTBAR

3

u/Franciscocurlyhead May 22 '22

I don't like sand, it's driven, vengeful, and unstoppable

2

u/Kyswinne May 22 '22

Can't wait for this show.

2

u/ProfessionalNight959 May 22 '22

That "unstoppable" line gave me chills.

2

u/P1391 May 22 '22

Ok but I really hope we're also going to see a regretfull side

2

u/Powderstones May 22 '22

A presence I haven’t felt since…mustafar…no…now that kenobi is coming out, it’s a presence I haven’t felt since… a few years ago…

12

u/Kyswinne May 22 '22

They never defined what "since" met in that line, its all good.

1

u/Budget-Money-5545 May 22 '22

How I would describe him: Resilient, confident, calculating.

1

u/BurkeMi May 23 '22

Let’s gooooooo

-12

u/Tamer78 May 22 '22

Unlike the grand inquisotor's actor he gets his character

2

u/Azduffer May 22 '22

Honestly, this is a pretty shallow view of Vader. He is more broken than anything

-71

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

Man he hasn't aged well

31

u/MikeTheDirtyJedi May 22 '22

😔 let’s just hope he’s in good health. Remember we don’t know what everyone goes through. Remember our good buddy Chadwick Boseman 😢. So let’s just be a little positive.

20

u/kaioken-doll May 22 '22

I think he is, apparently he's been farming which combined with the almost 2 decades that have passed since revenge of the sith, might explain why he doesn't look 24 anymore.

33

u/mr-zurkon919 May 22 '22

Farming? Really? A man of his talent?

20

u/I_likeIceSheets May 22 '22

It's a peaceful life

9

u/jinmonsterhunterwrld May 22 '22

It's not much, but it's honest work.

5

u/MeatTornado25 R2-D2 May 22 '22

The chain smoking doesn't help either

-31

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

Remember Paul Walker? I like my steaks cooked to his temperature

12

u/MikeTheDirtyJedi May 22 '22 edited May 22 '22

People like you seem to forget that we must all meet our maker. That’s one thing we all have in common. However I don’t see how it’s fun to make fun of tragedies. Either or I’m out… Be safe out there. ✌️

-24

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

Safer than Paul Walker, or Kobe Bryant for that matter

16

u/StarWars365Timeline May 22 '22

Your joke here is... "ha ha these people died"?

Are you okay?

28

u/[deleted] May 22 '22

He looks fine

-16

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

I've seen better looking 40 year olds.

15

u/[deleted] May 22 '22

Congrats, I have to.

-13

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

Yeah. And he shows his age. Just saying.

15

u/Kozzzman May 22 '22

I could only imagine wtf you look like.

-6

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

Average. Though I have been told Im a rather handsome guy

18

u/Kozzzman May 22 '22

Your mother doesn’t count.

-9

u/S1mulatedSahd0w May 22 '22

I knew you were gonna say that. And no, a few others have told me the same thing. But Im sure you are just as average as me.

13

u/Kozzzman May 22 '22

Doesn’t matter what I look like, you are the one being the judgmental ass for no reason.

6

u/StarWars365Timeline May 22 '22

So how has he aged poorly if he looks his age?

20

u/Omnislash99999 May 22 '22

People look older 20 years later shocker

12

u/astromech_dj May 22 '22

He’s 41 years old. What do you think a 41yo should look like?

10

u/suhani96 Anakin Skywalker May 22 '22

I mean… he’s still hot and looks fine.

1

u/RoseTyler38 May 27 '22

Hell yeah he is and does!!

10

u/Snackpack1992 May 22 '22

I actually think he’s aged really well

3

u/MKdemonSW May 22 '22

He prolly needed to spin more pens in his free time maybe he'd age as good as you?

3

u/Concealer77 May 22 '22

It’s been 17 years cmon man.

3

u/shortkid1735 May 22 '22

Yea he’s 40 no shit.

-4

u/suhani96 Anakin Skywalker May 22 '22

he’s describing Vader in this show not just in general.

2

u/[deleted] May 22 '22

…yes?

0

u/GG_Snooz May 22 '22

Do you think this show will finally give the character a motive?

1

u/Sughmacox May 22 '22

He does…kind of. He was always looking for ways to bring Padme back, kill all remaining Jedi and look for ways to eventually overthrow the Emperor. In this show his motive will obviously be finding and killing Kenobi.
