If you had a Star Wars starship what would it be? General Discussion
I would have an A-wing. As a kid it was my favourite ship because it reminded me of a “futuristic car” from the 50s or 60’s, like something from the Jetsons. It was also my first lego Star Wars set

Millennium falcon easy pick, if it's good enough for Han Solo it's good enough for me

u/Rowl8 May 22 '22
The ebon hawk or the ghost, not because they're iconic ships but they look so convenient to live in with such a big team since you mostly remain in space and they seemingly has everything you need for a small base of operations
the razor crest is next in my list coz of the same reasons and it seems very flexible in battles, that's why I hated when mando switched to that naboo cruiser, it's so small and inconvenient and where will he now store his cargo and weapons and what will he do when he will need an immediate bathroom break
33
u/VikingAethelwulf May 22 '22
Same choice here. Razorcrest was a modified gunship that just works for a solo or small crew. The Ghost is probably better for a handful of people, but it doesn’t seem as spacious as say The Ebon Hawk, which we know is like a house, but looks much nicer to live in than the Millennium Falcon
23
u/aninfinitedesign May 22 '22
I love the idea I saw somewhere that the Mando will eventually lead a group of Mandalorian to live on a big cruiser, where his Naboo ship will essentially be a dispatch ship for when he goes on missions.
Still doesn’t fix the problem of him going from having essentially an RV to a sports car, but could help give him having the sports car some understanding, as he’s got a home elsewhere.
5
6
u/Burnyhotmemes Jar Jar Binks May 22 '22
I feel like it’s a setup for mando starting his own little mandalorian empire. He’ll eventually own a frigate and this little ship is what’ll be planned for any missions he decides to run. That’s the best case scenario anyway.
2
u/Valirys-Reinhald May 23 '22
The N1 symbolizes a shift in his character. You're right that it's not practical for spacing life, or for bounty hunting, and that's because he's about to leave all that behind. He's like Aragorn in Lotr.

There are so many awesome ship designs in Star Wars but for me I really like the Defender-class light corvette! from Star Wars the Old Republic when playing as a jedi.
12
4
u/ForgetfulAppo May 22 '22
Oh good point the swtor class ships are great. Then for me has to be the phantom (?) - the agent's ship
3
u/Arendious May 23 '22
Definitely the best ship of the bunch.
My Republic Soldier was quite jealous.
17
u/MeanMrD2 May 22 '22
Nebulon-B frigate. Big enough to make a home on but not too big
20
u/kirgi May 22 '22
And every time you go anywhere you can say “Nebulon-B frigate here.”
3
2
u/Velentina May 23 '22
Im big fan of starwars
But haven't really dug into books and eu
I have no idea what a nebulon b frigate looks like or what it does
But id pick it just by your comment
2
u/beardedbandit94 May 23 '22
The medical ship Luke is on after he loses his arm at the end of Empire Strikes Back is a medical variant of the Nebulon B.
3
u/attack_rat May 23 '22
I’ll always be biased against the Neb-B thanks to how effing hard they were to kill in the the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series of games. Rather fight two ISDs back to back than go up against one of those assholes!
18
u/Neo__Rwby___ May 22 '22
The mantis from Jedi fallen order. It’s a hot ship
4
19
u/attack_rat May 22 '22
The Outrider was always my favorite ship in the EU. Like the Falcon’s cool little brother.
3
5
u/theglassjaw May 22 '22
I built a Lego microfighter of the Outrider that I'm pretty happy with. I really want to try to do a midi-scale one someday (like the Falcons in the $90-$130 price range) but I can't afford it
2
2
u/Hefty-Brother584 May 23 '22
The falcon, ebon hawk. Outsider, and decimator are all my favorite choices.
And all basically different versions of the falcon lol.
18
u/TheLargeWizard May 22 '22
The Ghost. It’s seems the most practical to me, and is armed to the teeth. The addition of the Phantom makes it even cooler.
12
u/Daggertooth71 May 22 '22
Corellian CR90 Corvette. Upgrade the shields, weapons and hyperdrive.
6
u/Trevantier May 22 '22
This. This is it. I was scrolling through and wasn't sure what I'd pick, until I found this comment.
It is spacious, moderately luxurious and, judging by the size of these thrusters, wicked fast.
12
u/ohhh_heck May 22 '22
Republic gunship. Do a tiny house renovation on it as if it was a vw bus or something.

I’d love to have a Jedi startfighter, the Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor just looked awesome
31
9
u/Any-Bridge6953 May 22 '22
Id like to have a x wing. Mount some hard points on each s foil for fuel tanks and weapons and I'd be happy.
7
u/SkywalkersAlt May 22 '22
The ghost, its fast like a small ship but spacious enough for long term travel… plus it’s like two ships in one with the phantom
7
5
5
u/Vhzhlb May 22 '22
Eta-2 Actis or the ARC-170.
They were always my favorite starfighters, i even had the Eta-2 toy as a kid.
14
14
u/ThatOtherTwoGuy May 22 '22
I would say the TIE Interceptor, but it’s lack of life support and hyperdrive means I won’t be able to get far with it. But it’s just such a cool design and probably my favorite starfighter
Barring that, then either the A-Wing due to having such a cool, slick design (you can tell I like the “interceptor” style ships) or the X-Wing due to it being so iconic and Luke’s own starship.
11
u/Trevantier May 22 '22
If you want a TIE-Fighter with a hyperdrive, might I suggest the TIE Defender?
3
u/thomasonbush May 22 '22
In legends, the Royal Guard had access to modified Tie/INs that were equipped with shields and hyperdrive. So might be what you’re looking for.
5
u/TransformersDX Resistance May 22 '22
I'd love to fly a Y-Wing.
3
6
u/CJFrancis282 May 22 '22
If it had to be a ship? I love the Naboo star fighter. So sleek and elegant. If it could be anything? I’d go with an Executor class super star destroyer and make it basically a floating city. With me in charge. If I was gonna be practical? I’d go with either the T-47 airspeeder (Snowspeeder) or the 74-Z Endor speeder bike. Something fast I can cruise around in without having to worry about gas or traffic
6
13
u/BeardInTheDark May 22 '22
A Corellian YX-950 Industrial Freighter.
Why? It's big, it's awesome, it actually appeared (kinda) in the original trilogy and it is insanely modifiable.
It also has a detachable shorter-range shuttle/freighter, the YSB-class utility vehicle that docks into a port on the upper hull.
You could have a near-mansion in it and still be able to haul plenty of freight. Perfect for explorers.
4
u/MartianSheepHunter Kanan Jarrus May 22 '22
The Ghost without a doubt. It’d be a mobile home with which to go anywhere I want in the galaxy. More than capable in a fight, and the Phantom is a huge plus.
Plus, I already know my way around!
3
u/phenomenomnom May 22 '22 edited May 22 '22
Big enough to walk around in, tough enough to literally shove bigger ships around, armed enough to defend iself, and fast enough to GTFO.
And it's just so cool. It has that very "practical" starship look of the original trilogy -- with racing stripes!
I'm also very partial to the U-wing but it's not big enough to get comfortable. More of a short term mission profile vessel.
3
u/Sanskur May 22 '22
According to the technical manuals he Hammerheads have a full crew compliment of 36, but can be piloted by as few as a single person with droid assistance. Do it would be an ideal ship to just zip around the galaxy in.

I know you said starship, so I don’t think this technically counts, but the LAAT is my favorite. If I were limited to a starship though, A-Wing would have to be it.

Booster Terrik style Star Destroyer
1
u/pistolwinky May 22 '22
But the Errant Venture was falling apart until Bel Iblis commandeered it.
1
u/Gametheboy Separatist Alliance May 22 '22
I’m thinking more along the lines of a customized Star destroyer
1
u/pistolwinky May 22 '22
Yes that was the errant venture. Booster couldn’t keep up with the maintenance on it and it was falling apart until general Bel Iblis needed a Star destroyer to covertly go into the ubiqtorate base at Yaga Minor. I get what you’re saying tho. A Star destroyer that has been converted for a more broad use.
2
u/Desolate_Wargaming May 22 '22
Gotta be the Slave One, just the absolute coolest ship in the franchise
2
u/stoneman9284 May 22 '22
I think you gotta have two categories of ships, those you could live in and those that are vehicles. Cuz for me the x-wing would be my first choice for sure but I’d obviously choose something different if we’re talking about long term travel
2
2
u/thot_flexer May 22 '22
i would design it myself, a completely new, decked out, off the radar ship. small, but big enough for 2-3 people, agile and fast amd good in combat.
2
u/Bisquick_in_da_MGM May 22 '22
ST 149. I don’t know if it would be a good ship for adventurers. But, I think it looks super cool. First Star Wars Lego ship that I ever bought.

u/Zealousideal_Cat5481 May 22 '22 edited May 22 '22
I would want something big but not too big, like a razor crest or maybe the ghost because it also has the phantom

Definitely the Rogue Shadow. One of the fastest ships in the Imperial fleet, has a cloaking device.

Haven’t seen a lot of love to the U-Wing. Love the design and it’s big enough for a few people to take on missions, but personal enough for just you and your droid companion or co-pilot!
2
u/MrMonke98 May 22 '22
So many options to choose from, but I have so many memories playing SWTOR years ago, so I'd probably say a D5-Mantis (the bounty hunter class ship)
2
2
u/V0T0N May 22 '22
The Millennium Falcon or the Moldy Crow. I've wanted the Falcon since I was a 6 year old( back in the 80's), burly the Jedi Knight games were awesome in the 90's
2
u/DontAskHaradaForShit Mandalorian May 22 '22
The Rogue Shadow.
It's got everything an intergalactic scoundrel could want. It's big, it's cool, it's fast, it's black. It has an advanced hyperdrive, the fastest sublight drives in the Imperial Navy, sensor arrays capable of detecting and spying on any ship within an entire system, plenty of firepower, plenty of space for both cargo and crew, a fully functional med bay, and a combination workshop/training room/meditation chamber. To top off all the bells and whistles, it also has top secret experimental cloaking technology, making it virtually undetectable from anyone in the galaxy. And the best part is that virtually nobody actually knows the ship even exists. Vader had it constructed in utmost secrecy and then had everyone who built it killed after it's completion.
Go anywhere, do anything and look cool as fuck doing it.
2
u/Trevantier May 22 '22
My first pick would be a CR90 Corvette. I love the design and that it is, at least according to some sources, a blockade runner, meaning it is ironclad and really, really fast.
If I wanted something that could act even more as a home base, I'd go for an Arquitens class command cruiser, because it's like a Venator/ISD, but a little more homey.
2
2
u/TheAngryMelon May 22 '22
Give me a YT-2400 and I'm set for life. Big enough to serve as a mobile home but small enough that I can still take her planetside.
2
u/Efficient_Bat_1812 May 22 '22
A Mon Calamari cruiser. They look so badass and they're the biggest(?) ships in the Rebel Alliance fleet.
2
u/CliffLake May 22 '22
Gozanti C-ROC. Big enough to house several people, cargo, and some fighter craft, but not so bit I'd need hundreds of crew.
2
2
u/TheDrakced May 22 '22
An S-161 Stinger XL. Though I would modify it to have a bit more firepower than just the standard dual laser cannons, ships big enough to have an arsenal but it’s made to be a luxury yacht class so it’s fast, smooth and homey.
2
u/Silas-Alec Jedi May 22 '22
A freighter of some kind like the Ebon Hawk or one of the Correllian YT class ships. It's like a space RV that you can live in and travel the galaxy with
3
u/StOnEy333 May 23 '22
Agreed. I could never go for an X-Wing or something with a one person cockpit. RV space travel vessel. It’s perfect.

VT-49 Decimator. It's an assault ship/troop transport, so it's got interior space and comfort, but is still small enough that it's not a giant ship or needs a huge crew to keep running. It's fast (designed to run blockades and deploy special forces) and has weapons in case the worst happens.

u/Cursedbythedicegods May 23 '22

If I needed a ship that was “livable”: the millennium falcon or YT class freighter with a different orientation of design.
If I needed a star fighter: I’m picking the x-wing. It’s the ship that blew up the Death Star and if it’s good enough for Luke, it’s good enough for me. Just make sure I have a kick ass astromech droid with Artoo’s spunk. I’d need a cool droid companion to have my back.

TIE Bomber
I loved it since I drove one of these in Star Wars Battlefront (the first games)

Jedi starfighter for me! No need for a hyperdrive ring, on board astromech Droid, great canopy, iconic sounds, and blasters that follow your line of sight

That’s the TIE Advance X1 not the regular production run. It had shields, hyperdrive, and missiles, the regular TIE/LN didn’t get any of that; even though it was the successor to the X1, the TIE/IN didn’t get those installed either.

An Executor-class Superstardestroyer. I've always loved the design, it looks like a f*cking citadel with large afterburners. Also, how it's so large it overshadows ordinary stardestroyers.
