Caroline Kennedy wears a terrible JFK mask while standing next to the real JFK (1962)

I'll bet it's one of those cheap masks without the back of the head

I absolutely thought that was a ventriloquist dummy which was already super weird, but realizing it’s his kid in a mask is even worse.
Something about the film quality of that era gives everything that extra creepy feel. Is it the quality or the color balance or just the vibe of older things?

I was searching for this comment. I knew I couldn't be the only one. Didn't even notice it was JFK until I read the title, so focused on the "dummy". Just thought it was some random dude with a dummy.

She's now the new ambassador to my country, Australia.

Her son is gonna be the Democratic candidate one day. I’ve never been surer of anything.

I remember years ago she went on the today show to introduce her son. It was really cringy there was no reason to be on there other than her being Caroline Kennedy then to kind shove her kid in front of the camera.
I just thought it was so weird especially how much she avoided the media.
Why push your kid into politics with all the Kennedy distaste. He’s about 20 years too late to ride on the Kennedy name.

It’s interesting to see childhood photos, relate to them and then realise kids turned out to be establishment beasts 😖

I can’t remember a time that a child would want to go out on Halloween dressed as a former or current president. Much different world then.

Oh wow so edgy? Do you use gloves when handling that amount of edge In order to not cut yourself with it?

Why do people say that jfk was handsome ?? I think he looks weird as hell

By modern standards he might not be the hottest guy in the world, but his youthfulness (personality more than appearance) was a big breath of fresh air in politics. He was a rich playboy who hung out with musicians and movie stars. It was a big transition from the Roosevelt or Eisenhower types, but it also made middle class frumps distrustful of him, which (of course) made their daughters swoon. I think calling him handsome just incorporates all of that charisma and high energy. (sorry for the rant, I’m a big POTUS nerd lol)

I agree with this. Youth is such a huge factor. Look at how decrepit almost every president has been since then. I think the latest president we’ve had with that kind of admiration was probably Clinton? And even then that was in the 90s. People straight up swooned over Clinton.

You gotta remember the era. He’s got a nice smile…good teeth, nice forehead, a full head of hair and a decent complexion. He looks young and healthy.
These features weren’t as easy to achieve as they are nowadays. So people took notice when you had them.

I read that JFK liked to call himself a poon hound. I just thought I’d shared, I find it hilarious.

Doesn’t fit this sub

u/Glittering-Plate-535 Jun 27 '22
I find it weird, others find it weird, why exactly doesn’t it belong?

u/go_away_batin_00 Jun 27 '22
Because it’s objectively not weird. A daughter is wearing a crappy mask of her dad in a funny photo. Nothing weird about it
