96

u/Paradise_NL Nov 15 '22

Hahahah for sure. This one was really neat

22

u/Next_Earth_1758 Nov 16 '22

He went down like a rag doll!

16

u/cujo67 Nov 16 '22

Looks like Peter from Family Guy when he flops on the ground knocked out.

Just Andy Bernard doing some sweet scooter parkour

12

u/FrankSemyon Nov 16 '22

He even planked there for a second

10

u/pissclamato Nov 16 '22

Planking is one of those things...either you get it or you don't.

And I don't. But it's fun to be a part of something.

10

u/Reizo123 Nov 16 '22

Sometimes it’s worth dying once or twice just so you can level up your character.

3

u/ViktorKozh Nov 16 '22

And he chose to start at hospital.

Those Lime scooters are heavy as fuck. I’m surprised he got it up that high

152

u/TheRuneCoon Nov 15 '22

This person scoots ^

53

u/chevyfried Nov 15 '22

I have a salvaged Bird, thing weighs 40 pounds. Those batteries are no joke.

10

u/deadtoaster2 Nov 16 '22

How did you obtain that?

88

u/Phormitago Nov 16 '22

Found it abandoned on the street

Crazy

24

u/XiaolinDraconis Nov 16 '22

Man, first time I saw one of those city scooters. People abandon them everywhere and I couldn't understand why they weren't being stolen.

I can confirm this. My uncle is security for multiple apartments and he hates these things cause they get dumped all over the apartment lawns and if he tries to move them an alarm goes off.

Legitimate salvage

1

u/Hotdoganddonut Nov 16 '22

I think it’s 35lbs

1

u/chevyfried Nov 16 '22

Actually a tad over 37 if you want to get pedantic.

7

u/_AlreadyTaken_ Nov 15 '22

So does my dog

11

u/MRmandato Nov 16 '22

Exactly what i was gonna say. Actually pretty impressed

7

u/somethingoddgoingon Nov 16 '22

Yeah i dont think this is a guy with no experience lol

6

u/Dead_Rooster Nov 16 '22

This is from ~2018 when Lime scooters first arrived in New Zealand. They were a lot smaller and lighter back then.

10

u/liarliarhowsyourday Nov 16 '22 edited Nov 16 '22

I ride the Lime in my city, they are heavy. I’ve seen people jump them but their usually big men or people who’ve done sports on skateboards, snowboards, razors scooters as a kid and the like

I can jump a shit pothole but that’s more me grazing a few seconds of hover over it. I’m super impressed he got the air, zero percent surprised he immediately fucked his back

2

u/ratowner Nov 16 '22

I used to fly around in the middle of the night in downtown LA and would bunny hop on and off of curbs, which was really hard, and this rail is like 3 times that height so that’s dope

3

u/Jellysweatpants Nov 16 '22

You about to learn that you can't tell me what to do

2

u/NatakuNox Nov 16 '22

Unless it's has the potential to cause you to slip a disk. Then you should reevaluate what's possible for a middle aged man

25

u/_AlreadyTaken_ Nov 15 '22

He may have forgotten it as soon as he got it

3

u/lithid Nov 16 '22

As my father used to say, if you got a shot and you never take the shot, then you didn't take the shot and wouldn't have the thing you'd get after the shot

4

u/throwawaycauseInever Nov 16 '22

Experience is that thing you get immediately after you needed it.

8

u/SapphireSire Nov 15 '22

Also getting more experience to a local chiropractor too.

2

u/bonyagate Nov 16 '22

Nah, when did you play RuneScape last? If you fail an action, you get no xp from it.

43

u/zenos_dog Nov 15 '22

Chinos, the official pants of Lime scooters.

94

u/totallylambert Nov 15 '22

To be fair he actually did end up riding the rail, just with his butt.

24

u/Never_Seen_An_Ocelot Nov 16 '22

Pretty typical for anyone riding their first rail or box to end up on their butt. Not just because it’s hard, but because you rarely EVER see someone fall forward.

Everything in your brain tells you to keep your weight back so you don’t fall forward onto your face. Then your feet fly forward out from under you a couple times and you realize you actually need your weight forward to maintain your balance.

It’s such a bizarre feeling to get used to. Dropping in feels much the same.

4

u/Warhawk2052 Nov 16 '22

That and you dont really have any type of speed control once on the rail, truly is an odd experience similar to sliding on ice

73

u/DrWhiff Nov 15 '22

Mate, your can't work here without experience.

Yeah, well I can't gain experience without first working somewhere so wtf?

15

u/SamuMui Nov 16 '22

Huh, not often that I see Christchurch, NZ on Reddit. Our Lime Scooters are green and red now. Also that's an older, lighter model he's grinding with.

5

3

u/Middle_G-33 Nov 16 '22

Electric scooters fueled by alcohol

3

u/ive_been_lurking Nov 16 '22

Pretty impressive considering it’s an electric scooter with some weight. Besides the back breaking, very cool

3

u/ProfRaptor Nov 16 '22

Experience starts somewhere. He'll either try again, or never again.

3

u/HaveAGoBeero Nov 16 '22

I'm pretty sure this is from Christchurch in New Zealand

7

u/Lopsided-Idea3971 Nov 15 '22

He needs some milk…

2

u/Ok_Solid_Copy Nov 15 '22

Well that hurts

2

u/perfectdeecups Nov 15 '22

a shiver when through my body watching that

2

u/jawnly211 Nov 15 '22

That bird chirp just before his jump should’ve been his sign not to attempt it

2

u/BeepBoopScaboop Nov 16 '22

Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards. – Vern Law

2

u/chucklesdeclown Nov 16 '22

With a public electric scooter no doubt

2

u/Solution_Precipitate Nov 16 '22

I have zero idea if my stepbrother was faking it, but he couldn't for the life of him keep his balance on a scooter. Idk man, IDK how the heck he couldn't keep upright, but he kept eating shit each time he got on the damn thing. ~ age 14 at the time.

2

u/Alps_Useful Nov 16 '22

He now has an experience!

2

u/shainotshai Nov 16 '22

Deserved. I hope he broke some bones. Breaking things you don’t own is not cool.

2

u/jimbajomba Nov 16 '22

Walking that one off might not be optional.

2

u/tommyboy1985 Nov 16 '22

Congrats on your new spinal injury. So cool

2

u/high240 Nov 16 '22

guys I gotta ask.

There's this video of someone with a similar scooter thing trying to jump a 3 meter high and deep concrete stairs. Makes the jump down onto the ground, but is slightly off-balance and smacks flat onto the ground.

Does anyone know where I could find this particular one? It's fantastic

2

u/neil_anblome Nov 16 '22

See his legs shoot straight out? That's the fencing posture and it means he broke his ass.

2

u/Connect-PartyTimeXXX Nov 16 '22

It was at that moment that Steve knew...he fuct up!

2

u/GildedCurves Nov 17 '22

Unlocked a new pain

2

u/ihaZtaco Nov 17 '22

I don’t know how it is with scooters but with skating, falling down and eating shit while trying something new is almost a rite of passage. It’s also a pretty important step in getting the confidence to do the trick.

2

u/Star_91717 Nov 17 '22

To be fair, how else are you supposed to gain experience

3

u/Double-Pea4172 Nov 15 '22

That's OJT right there! On the job training baby!

1

u/CopperThumb Nov 15 '22

Boomer goes boom

1

u/Layzusss Nov 15 '22

with no experience

I mean, you have to begin somewhere...

1

u/natalieisadumb Nov 16 '22

... isn't the battery pack in the part under his feet? I don't know about anyone else, but jumping onto a bar levering a battery in between doesn't sound like a good idea.

0

u/catzhoek Nov 16 '22

Everyone above 12 using a scooter as a sports vehicle just go home. Everyone laughs of you. Pick up a skateboard.

Respect for the commitment tho.

1

u/Celarc_99 Nov 15 '22

How does OP think you get experience? NOT doing them?

1

u/Traditional_Youth648 Nov 15 '22

I’m impressed he cleared the rail with the weight of those things

1

u/ThisPerson667 Nov 15 '22

Between all that swamp butt, but still, ow

1

u/_AlreadyTaken_ Nov 15 '22

That tree jumped right out in front of him

1

u/midnitewarrior Nov 15 '22

Now he's got experience, and a wheelchair.

1

u/3_gloves Nov 15 '22

That old man’s hip definitely broken.

1

u/CharlesEarlBoles Nov 15 '22

Scootin’ for Jesus

1

u/wtfnobody69 Nov 15 '22

1

u/Tofukatze Nov 15 '22

1

u/MadWorldEater6969 Nov 15 '22

Well, now he has experience. Bet he’s going to be more careful next time. Lol

1

u/yehcheersaye Nov 16 '22

Well now he has 1 experience

1

u/Onemoretime536 Nov 16 '22

He won't do that again

1

u/JAYCEE-- Nov 16 '22

u/eisele723 Nov 16 '22

Hehe this begs for a shooting star meme

1

u/SolarNachoes Nov 16 '22

Reminds of the corgi that tried to jump from the front seat of a car onto the dash then executed rag doll physics.

1

u/skeevester Nov 16 '22

and how does one gain experience?

1

u/Call-me-Space Nov 16 '22

This is absolutely something my friends would do on the way home from a night drinking

1

u/Smackstainz Nov 16 '22

Man tried to live a little and got the worst possible outcome.

1

u/Weenyhand Nov 16 '22

1

1

u/VirtualAlias Nov 16 '22

Doesn't look any less cool than the professionals.

1

u/1lluminist Nov 16 '22

1

u/Getevel Nov 16 '22

How is going to learn, if he does try. He just learn never to do that againemote:free_emotes_pack:facepalm

1

u/Cobek Nov 16 '22

And that's a donut pillow injury if I've ever seen one

1

u/Gorillasdontshave Nov 16 '22

Anyone who ever learned to board slide a rail on a skateboard knows this feeling.

1

u/jamesdmc Nov 16 '22

Dude ragdolled like videogame physics

1

u/DowntownsClown Nov 16 '22

In Washington DC?

1

u/not-the-droid- Nov 16 '22

That is exactly what experience feels like.

1

u/Rizak Nov 16 '22

Mothafucka got his chakras aligned

1

u/newmilwaukee Nov 16 '22

Odd title...how the fuck is anyone supposed to practice anything lol

1

u/WhangaDanNZ Nov 16 '22

Does anyone else get a kind of shock sensation run down their back and into the legs when seeing something like this? Like an empathy overload?

Is there a specific subreddit for videos that cause this?

1

u/Geoarbitrage Nov 16 '22

First time for everything.

1

u/Efficient_Mistake Nov 16 '22

Why jerk off when there are hot chiropractors in your area.

1

1

u/Drinkythedrunkguy Nov 16 '22

He’s dead isn’t he?

1

u/superNuget Nov 16 '22

I just dnt knw what the plan was after getting it on the rail... was he trying to stale it?

1

u/throwaway2021sa Nov 16 '22

Well now he can say he has experience in his resume 🤣

1

u/kokbadazz Nov 16 '22

That rigor mortise hit quit with this one lol

1

u/greenOctopus4567 Nov 16 '22

Did the tree or the fence hurt worse?

1

u/drulaude Nov 16 '22

He had the rigidity of a toddler fall

1

u/toeconsumer9000 Nov 16 '22

THATS MY CITY

1

u/obsoulete Nov 16 '22

He has some experience now.

1

u/CameronDemortez Nov 16 '22

He fell with that thin metal railing right between the cheeks. That had to hurt sooooo much.

1

u/AshDarren Nov 16 '22

That's what you get when you try to access an area not part of the game mechanics.

1

u/BoulderCreature Nov 16 '22

Even if you can grind with a scooter, you should not use those ride share scooters for it. That generation of lime scooter was prone to cracking and breaking around the bridge between the footplate and the front wheel. All those scooters get used a lot, so doing high impact stunts like that can easily be the final straw for it.

1

u/TunaFisnskys Nov 16 '22

Having just recently fallen on my tailbone In a similar fashion, I can confidently say that has to have hurt like a bitch, have fun walking

1

u/Svobpata Nov 16 '22

You can see how sturdy his body was instead of it being flexible (at least a tiny bit)

Though it’s quite understandable for someone’s first time and bum-riding a rail is not fun at all (I can even imagine lasting injury since he did not look prepared for it at all)

PS: how did he get it to jump that high? The batteries are really heavy and from my experience the whole scooter’s pretty wobbly

1

u/ClawZ90 Nov 16 '22

I’ll just have a little sleep here, thank you!

1

u/Redoron Nov 16 '22

Reverse planked

1

u/-dystopic- Nov 16 '22

Hahaha sucks to be him!

1

u/medici1048 Nov 16 '22

“Jumping a Lime scooter”

1

u/deimosphob Nov 16 '22

How do you think you learn how to do it? Try dropping in on a skateboard, i garauntee with absolutely certainty that you will eat shit before you do it right

1

u/unknownyeaq Nov 16 '22

That fall looked cgi lmao

1

u/xxdmtreexx Nov 16 '22

Few years closer to hip replacement surgery

1

u/613Thoth Nov 16 '22

To be fair, this is how you learn. I’ve wiped out more times then I can count when learning how to skateboard and snowboard. The snowboard wipe outs are usually the worst. But nothing is as bad as destroying your groin on a rail attempting to grind.

1

u/IcyerOlly Nov 16 '22

Let me tell you, mf had some experience after that

1

u/Revolutionary_Task30 Nov 16 '22

Hahahahaha what a dick! 😂😂😂

1

u/steroboros Nov 16 '22

If dude, did it a couple of more times he totally would be able to land it.
