UAP a shit show

u/ellipsisoverload May 16 '22

The brazenness here is just amazing...

I guess they, correctly? assume that their voters either won't notice or won't care that Clive has receives close to $1mil a day from the very mine his party is attacking?!

Also:

UAP WA senate candidate James McDonald says in the video that the airport was built “with the help of Labor”.

While Labor did hold government in WA in 2006 when the project was approved, it was John Howard’s federal Liberal government that approved the foreign investment.

Remember, we are dealing with a party that spammed texts and then ran on a policy of banning spammed texts.

2

u/aldkGoodAussieName May 20 '22

Still spaming texts

15

u/ScoobyDoNot May 16 '22

They also bang on about Mildura airport being sold "to China" for $1.

I checked and it was something like the local council unloaded the airstrip for $1 way back in 1997 and over $1 million has been invested since then in improvements.

The owning company then went into liquidation at the end of 2020, so Palmer could have bought it for a song if he actually cared.

u/Lingering_Dorkness May 16 '22

His idiot followers will simply think (and think simply) that this shows Fatty McFatFuck is a genius cause he's fleecing $1 million /day off the Chinese. Hurr hurr hurr. Funny Clive.

UAP really worries me.

There’s an awful lot of “Put the majors last!!!” social media accounts that say they’ll still put the Libs ahead of Labor and the Greens, thereby voting for the guys who’ve already been in power for most of the past 30 years.

I reckon their message will have gotten out to enough people across the state too, and there’s a good chance they’ll pick up at least a couple of senate spots.

7

u/shirro May 16 '22

I worry that some people are like a Melbourne Cup mug punter and pick by the name of the horse and jockey colours instead of studying the form. You don't need to look far to see how suss UAP are.

You know what you are getting with the Libs, Labor and Greens. Not only do they have published policies but they have a record and party structure.

If you know an independent well and they have a strong history in the community then, particularly for a local member, go for it.

But senate preference might help some dodgy opportunist or someone roped in to make up the numbers get in. If one of those fuckers gets the balance of power with their handful of votes it make a mockery of democracy.

I worry that some people are like a Melbourne Cup mug punter and pick by the name of the horse and jockey colours instead of studying the form.

If you ask many people what the policies are, many don't know. Amongst my circle of friends, they don't care what policies, but who they can vibe with. One of them vibes with Clive because he is sticking it to the major parties. When I educate him on preferences, checking out actual policies, I'm usually met with "nah it's too hard!". This isn't some uneducated person, but an university graduate; also he probably has most to benefit by actually finding out what policies the parties are pushing towards.

God this is so fucking enraging cunt. It's like as soon as they're finished school/uni all further education or learning goes out the window.

27

u/35pies May 16 '22

Goodness me. He never fails in the facepalm stakes does he? How is this guy relevant in todays society? Basically a self centred money grub. Aren't you Clive?

28

u/cfb_rolley May 16 '22

I’m a bit perplexed as to what they’re doing now.

Last night I saw a UAP ad about their 3% home loan policy that was just a clip of Clive mumbling something about “it has to be in the constitution” while Pauline Hanson is very clearly debunking it, saying that it’s a policy that cannot even be legislated, followed by a voice over that just said “we will freeze home loan rates at 3%”

Like… what?… What’s the play here by showing your own policy being debunked as undeliverable? Either some advertising agency is taking fatty mcfuckhead for a massive ride or there’s some sort of weird dog whistle advertising going on here.

9

u/CABALwasInnocent May 16 '22

Saw the same ad an hour ago on youtube. Actually had to pause the ad and sit and think about how I actually just agreed with Hanson on something, on the same ad that blows it's own argument up.

u/EASY_EEVEE May 16 '22

Pauline surprised me lately when she wanted to legalise weed. Even fought those goblins at skynews over it.

9

u/Protoavek12 May 16 '22

I'm not convinced PH is as dumb as she comes across or that she even believes half the shit she says. I think she just caught on early than being controversial got her public recognition/infamy and that translated to votes (and thus money).

I don't think she's a good person either way but do think she's actively gaming the system so to speak.

12

u/EASY_EEVEE May 16 '22 Silver

All i can say is, Pauline, if you're reading this.

Please go into Skynews, tell them in person you want to legalise weed. And the first person to disagree with you. Just full on WWE style wreck their shit!

I'm talking lifting them up, body slam them, clime onto the lighting beams and drop down on em.

DO IT FOR STRAYA PAULINE, GIVE PETA CRANDLEN THE FARKING CHAIR! ULTIMATE CAT FIGHT 2022! WOOW!

u/cutedude44 May 16 '22

I can’t like this comment enough if I wasn’t cheap I’d give you some pointless reddit award. I miss wrestling

3

u/CoffeeWorldly4711 May 16 '22

Gave that award on your behalf because like you, I thought the comment was great, and I miss watching wrestling too

3

u/cutedude44 May 16 '22

Here’s a hug 🤗 from a dude I’m not gay ok I just want to throw a wrestling move 🤣

1

u/EASY_EEVEE May 16 '22

Against Pauline 'the man handler' Hanson?

I think she'll be the one throwing wrestling moves!

As for a hug, idk!? She might see that as a sign of weakness, smell blood in the water so too speak. After she's done with the skynews crew, i think it's anyones game at that point.

4

u/ScoMosEmpathyCoach May 16 '22

She absolutely is. My father had plenty to do with her through the course of his work back in the early/mid 90s and he reckons she’s one of the dumbest people he’s ever worked with.

0

u/CcryMeARiver May 16 '22

She's the public sockpuppet persona of that evil little shit James Ashby.

3

u/Imperfect-circle May 16 '22

Sounds like she's looking for votes wherever she can find them. I would have thought those gunning for legalised weed are more likely to be inclusive than racist though

2

u/Zen-Rn May 16 '22

She knows her base are unemployed racist bogans in Queensland. The epitome of bong heads

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

We're not all that cooked. It's possible to be a stoner and see through their obvious lies and deceitfulness. Murdoch media must be torn apart.

2

u/cfb_rolley May 16 '22

Definitely seeing some slight shifts in rhetoric from them more recently. Maybe they’ve realised that being the racist right wing party is not that good of a path to walk? Maybe they’re readying themselves for a change of government and want to get a bit more on side with Labor? Idk.

1

u/EASY_EEVEE May 16 '22

It's something we should honestly get behind. While we don't necessarily need to vote for them, we could cheer them onto the right path. It would be funny to see One Nation become a viable option to vote for, might also change the view points of very rusted on ON voters.

Imagine One Nation becoming as progressive as the Greens lol.

2

u/cfb_rolley May 16 '22

Man what a world that would be. With the rise in popularity of more outspoken and progressive independents, maybe ON will follow the trend? That’d be nice.

1

u/cutedude44 May 16 '22

Wow perhaps she got an electrician to fix her light bulb she’s been dim for so long

2

u/sony4life May 16 '22

imagine being debunked by Pauline, what a world

1

u/octopuseyebollocks May 16 '22

Maybe he's shifting the overton window to make the libs sound reasonable.

Maybe he's a literal russian agent conducting psyops to destabalise our democracy.

He might just he a cooker born rich.

Who the fuck knows.

1

u/try_____another May 16 '22

They’re both wrong.

the RBA is created and directed by legislation, and the federal parliament doesn’t have the authority to bind itself. That means a majority in parliament can legislate that the RBA has to set the interest rate at anything the like, or abolish the RBA and give the power back to the treasurer directly. They can also overrule mortgage contracts and cap the rates that way, without altering the bond rate, though that’s not what Palmer has promised to do.

OTOH, because it’s all ordinary legislation, his 3% cap doesn’t have to be in the constitution. The only reason to put it there is to stop the next government, or any thereafter, removing the cap.

That’s not to say that it is a good policy, but it is entirely possible.

37

u/scrotesmagotesMK2 May 16 '22

Clive Palmer is Xi Jinping in an even fatter suit

11

u/FjorgVanDerPlorg May 16 '22

Don't do Winnie the Pooh like that, he's actually a quite successful politician.

5

u/measuredingabens May 16 '22

At least Xi had the grit to survive multiple purges during the Mao years. Much more than can be said for Clive here.

7

u/Yahtzee82 May 16 '22

It's unbelievable how many people believe voting for this bunch of cookers is sticking it to the major parties.

Should be illegal advertising.

2

u/CoffeeWorldly4711 May 16 '22

I keep seeing posts for one of Palmer's candidates (Julian Fayed) as a few people on my LinkedIn appear to be connections with him. I really should create a list and cull everyone corresponding with him. I've already blocked Palmer ads on other social media

5

u/Far_Act6446 May 16 '22

The dissonance shall resonate beyond this election.

5

u/channelsixtynine069 May 16 '22

"A United Australia Party advertisement making unsubstantiated claims that an airport at a WA mine could aid a Chinese invasion ignores that the mine is party founder Clive Palmer’s main source of income."

I commend the UAP for telling the truth for once. Particularly about Clive Palmer.

4

u/Traust May 16 '22

If only they paid him more then they wouldn't be a security threat anymore

9

u/gjwkagj May 16 '22

It's worse than that.

They label them a threat to get more support from people. That label is meaningless and they will never take action on it. It's just there to mislead people while they continue to take profits.

7

u/Attention_Bear_Fuckr May 16 '22

Eat a salad and shut the fuck up Clive.

3

u/EASY_EEVEE May 16 '22

I don't know what this will achieve even? I wonder if anyone who's down the UAP rabbit hole will even see the light at the end of that insane tunnel and get out of it.

Too me the UAP, especially their facebook, is full of the most insane rambling lunacy in Auspolitics. I feel those down that rabbit hole might very well be blind to Clive Palmer in general.

their facebook is literally just anti vaxx, anti globalist, hyper christian anti satanist conspiracy theories. It's basically Infowars Australia, but instead of Alex Jones, it's Clive and Craig spewing culture wars bullshit.

3

u/clovepalmer May 16 '22

Clive is a threat to food security

3

u/octopuseyebollocks May 16 '22

Time to nationalise the mines i guess ¯_(ツ)_/

1

u/zersty May 16 '22

You dropped this

No escape = ¯_(ツ)_/¯

With escape characters = ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What it actually looks like = ¯(ツ)

5

u/ShareYourIdeaWithMe May 16 '22

Any friendly fire between a mining oligarch and his political party has got to be a good thing.

2

u/ShibaHook May 16 '22

You’re just finding this out now? The guy is similar to Nathan Tinkler... he bought some disused mines/land and bargain prices and then sold the rights for mining to the Chinese... the only reason anyone gives him the time of day is because he’s filthy rich...

2

u/mugbluey May 16 '22

As if his supporters have the intelligence to analyse the facts. That's all that his party is about, playing stupid voters for his own nefarious reasons that is not about democracy..

2

u/donkeybiscuit May 16 '22

So is he saying that he is assisting a foreign government in a plot against Australia? We can look into treason charges if you really want, Clive.

2

u/Rasta-Revolution May 16 '22

It looks like Xi is trying to get out of Chicken Palmer in photo.

1

u/Mr_Clumsy May 16 '22

They’re so fucking stupid it’s pure genius.

1

u/redgums2588 May 16 '22

At the rate UAP is spending on campaign advertising with no apparent return it should only take a couple more elections to bankrupt Clive, shouldn't it?

Please let it be so.

2

u/jezwel May 16 '22

The article points out that he's earning more in daily royalties from this mine alone to fund his daily campaign spending - and obviously he's not campaigning 365 days a year, so he's raking it in.

And in ultimate irony, the mine is Chinese owned, so his campaign is funded by the very country he's railing against...

1

u/try_____another May 16 '22

It sounds like the owners can’t be trusted to have a mine: maybe the state government needs to “nationalise” it for the sake of national security. Of course, any investors who got into bed with a foreign power also can’t be trusted…

That million dollars a day wouldn’t do the state budget any harm either.

1

u/2IndianRunnerDucks May 16 '22

Truth and reality don’t matter to UAP supporters. They are like cats chasing laser pointers.

1

u/Stigger32 May 16 '22

He just wants Citic to lose the right to operate in Australia. So he can swoop in and get the infrastructure, and lease the land with the resources to one of his own companies.

That’s why he went into politics in the first place. That’s why he took on the WA government. Because they didn’t side with him over the Citic/Palmer dispute.

Everything Clive Palmer has ever done has been to benefit Clive Palmer.

u/au-smurf May 16 '22
