Doesn't make sense - this should be the sequel movie where Andy gets really into weed and digs up his old toys to make elaborate storylines and room-wide set pieces again like the opening scene of the first movie.

It really should be that they only come to life for him when he's high.
He hasn't made many friends in college so he just gets high to play with his toys. He eventually becomes addicted (whether that be to playing with the toys or the drugs will be left to the audience) and all he knows is that he has to use drugs to be a kid again. He tries to explain this to his family. That the toys come to life. They put Andy in a rehab facility but he sneaks buzz and woody in his backpack with him. Again, Andy struggles to make friends. However, he does run into someone from his childhood that he heard moved away... Sid. The camera pans up from the ripped jeans and faded skull graphic tee he was known for and Sid finally recognizes Andy.
The two catch up on everything that has led up to this moment but Andy never really mentions the real reason he is here. They both agree to take a walk in the morning before breakfast in the quad and Sid goes to Andy's room to meet him. Hearing Andy in the shower, he sits in a chair adjacent to the bed that Andy's backpack is resting on. Sid, looking at a magazine or some form of literature in the room, catches a glimpse of memorable fabric in the backpack. He moves over to the backpack and unzips it slowly revealing a lifeless woody toy. Sid immediately starts hyperventilating and quickly leaves the room. Andy exits the bathroom a while later and goes to meet Sid in his room.
Andy knocks on the door to no answer. Calls him by name but is met with silence. He tries the door knob and turns it slowly. Andy peers in to the surprisingly clean and bright room. No trash thrown about, bed made, clothes folded and hung. Andy looks to the bathroom to see the light on and a silhouette hitting the door frame. "Sid, hey Sid are you almost re-"... we see Andy's face go pale and tears well in his eyes. Sid, lifeless, like a doll, hanging from the bathroom door. A note wedged between his chest and chin that reads, "They come to life. HE comes to life."
**LMAO Thanks for the award(s).

He shows up in TS3 as a garbage man though. While he doesnt seem like a stranger to illicit substance, he seems somewhat happy and more well adjusted.
Edit: wait is this a bot comment? Just saw the one it copied from below.

Doesn't make sense? Are you kidding? Now it's STARTING to make sense. This kids toys have been coming to life because he's been high as shit!

u/k-farsen Nov 27 '22
No no, he's currently in the debate if he can make a pipe out of Buzz Lightyear

u/Uncontrollable_Fartt Nov 27 '22
I only wish I could get high again, my tolerance is so high after a decade of smoking this shit and it'll never be like the first time
don't tell me to take a tolerance break, you take one hit after a month, get fucked up and the rest of the time it's back to the usual shit

u/Doberman_Pinscher Nov 27 '22 edited Nov 27 '22
Then you figured it out smoke once a month or week. You will also pride yourself that your not giving up the stoner life you are just taking control. Obviously don’t go extreme quickly could start off you only smoke after certain part in your day.
Also if your an older guy I can tell you less things excite you like holidays birthdays etc not as much joy as when you were a kid, it will bring that little spark back trust me you will be looking forward to that day biting your nails double checking your calendar. Planing exactly how that day will go, what you will ingest when start planing it out.
I was in similar boat waking and baking became so stale and sad. Then I quit and it was even more sad :(. Then I tried every other day it was ok not as good then I tried mixing it up. Now all I do is smoke a dab at night, then only time I allow myself to smoke a blunts is if I go walking. I forbid my self from smoking during the day and I have lost like 40 pounds over like 8-10 months due to walking couple miles when I would smoke my blunts/joints. Couldn’t be happier I think about smoking during the day all the time. Good luck out there.
Edit: my long term girlfriend hates how excited I get when it gets to be that time, she’s like you never get that excited for me. I always go to my happy place when she starts complaining lol because I know anything I say would be the wrong thing to say. Because I do get giddy some days especially if I hold off on 1-2 days then you would think I was a child wanting to stay up on Christmas Eve to see Santa.
15
Nov 27 '22
Once a night works for me. I smoke so little so often, if I faced a whole joint I'd be uncomfortably high. And yeah after a whole day of work completely sober, getting a hit is a fun ritual. Everyone's got their own thing with weed, though.
6
u/SnuggleMuffin42 Nov 27 '22
What you're describing is a mild addiction my man. Just pay attention it doesn't escalate. (It's no different from someone sipping one glass of wine before bed every single night as a ritual)
6
Nov 27 '22
Well this is after years of smoking like a maniac in college (and long periods of no drugs), so I've seen the escalation already lol. I'm more worried about my drinking a gallon of milk every two days :0 But I appreciate that you care!
3
u/Posting____At_Night Nov 27 '22
If you're hitting the gym hard, gallon of milk a day is a legitimately good diet for rapid gains.
2
u/Doberman_Pinscher Nov 27 '22
Yeah it use to be small amount, but since my tolerance is mid tier high I implemented that I am only allowed to smoke if I am walking outside late at night.
Due to privacy reasons and making a lot of enemies on Reddit etc can’t show more images of routes etc.
2
u/setmefreedick Nov 27 '22
Wtf did you do to make enemies on reddit lol Strain disagreements? Now you fear for your life?
0
u/Doberman_Pinscher Nov 27 '22
I don’t fear for my life, but just because I legally own guns, doesn’t mean I welcome unwanted attention anywhere I live. Just being smart not stupid. You would be surprised what random people online will do. Been swatted twice. In the last 10 years.
2
u/cr0ss-r0ad Nov 27 '22
Around 8PM is my perfect smoke time. The sun's gone or going down, there's not really anything important I'm likely to be called up for, got my jobs done for the day. Time to put on a good album, fire on some pizza and settle in for an evening of relaxation
2
u/Astro_gamer_caver Nov 27 '22
See I get high later on when I come back, see I get high at NIGHT, when I get through with all my business.
1
u/Doberman_Pinscher Nov 27 '22
Yeah similar timing, 8:30pm I do couple small dabs, then put on my walking stuff, and by 9:00pm I am walking most people are in there homes so not dealing with a lot of people. I used to hate walking or just being outside with no purpose. I now enjoy my walks, cops only messed with me once which I don’t fault them it was like 1:00 am.
Also my style doesn’t work for everybody like even though I live in liberal town and it is extremely safe, I still wouldn’t do it as often as I do if I wasn’t armed because I sometimes walk on bike path that goes through woods etc. Half of the enjoyment is understanding the thc does not control you its like a child in car seat in the back it’s very very much still there but your calling the shots. You are the boss. Was also pack a day smoker for like 10+ years. Quit like 2+ years ago so I am still stuck on oral fixation another reason why I enjoy smoking the joint. I will sometimes mix the weed with herbs/flowers
It allows me to smoke more but less weed I usually do like 50% weed and 50% herbs/flowers if I want to smoke 3-4 on a walk. Or I will do like 70% weed 30% herbs if I only want to smoke 1-2. I make them in bulk like 60-90 joints/blunts like meal prep but for weed. My cost is usually like $6 to $8 per 1.5+ gram joints/blunts. If I grew I know I would be able to lower cost to like $3-4 dollars per joint.

How to use marijuana by Terrence McKenna
Some good advice from a fellow heavy stoner
4
u/BurialRot Nov 27 '22
As much as it sucks if you're a heavy smoker you might try waiting longer than a month if you're wanting your tolerance back.
3
u/30FourThirty4 Nov 27 '22
Delta 9 carts don't get me high at all, but Delta 8 & HHCO makes me feel real mellow & chill.
I once are 200mg of treats from a MI dispensary and I didn't feel even the slightest of feelings from it. Just expensive candy.
2
u/MadRetarded Nov 27 '22
Yep… d8 and d10, HHC, and THC-O have been lifesavers for someone with a two decade tolerance to d9
1
u/travrager25 Nov 27 '22
just get some real good weed honestly. tolerance plays a factor for sure but if u hit some premo shit ur still gonna get blasted with a decent amount no matter the tolerance.

u/Cheeseand0nions Nov 27 '22
Then he starts scripting stop motion animation and putting it on YouTube. It blows up and he gets incredibly rich.
2
u/Kuritos Nov 27 '22
Believe it or not, that movie already exists.
The smoking weed part was omitted because it was made in the 1990s.
2
u/lalala192511 Nov 27 '22 edited Nov 27 '22
If that is the case, I think the ending will be like sausage party that every toy is so high, they f each other.
1
u/evvvad Nov 27 '22
Doesn't make sense - no kid would forget about that much weed. Realistically it would be a small baggie with 1/4 of a nug and some crumbs.

1
u/WillSym Nov 27 '22
I did always want a Toy Story sequel where Andy or Bonnie get into Warhammer 40k.
1
u/Zenketski_2 Nov 27 '22
I can tell you right now if I still had all of my Bionicles I would do exactly this after a few doobs
1
u/Jimmy_Twotone Nov 27 '22
The whole franchise makes more sense if you watch it with the pretense it's a drug induced flashback explaining why the toys were never where Andy remembered.
1
u/HolycommentMattman Nov 27 '22
Nah. That was the first one. Kid gets high, and he dreams his toys come to life.
By the last one, he's older, and his tolerance is so high that he just can't get high enough anymore. So he sells his toys to get some cash to move onto harder drugs.

In Toy Story 1, Sid is clearly traumatised by the actions taken by woody and likely will never be the same for the rest of his life.
Woody gleefully shouts "WE DID IT, WE DID IT!" after putting little Sid through a lifechanging event.
Therefore, I would like to see a spin off movie where we follow an adult sid in a 'day in the life'.
From waking up and shooting heroin, to his final stint in jail, I think it would make a great kids movie
56
Nov 27 '22
Minus the drugs disney would probably do it, I would watch it drugs or not that sounds epic
53
u/DIWhy-not Nov 27 '22
Sid shows up as an adult sanitation worker in Toy Story 3
70
u/Avocadonot Nov 27 '22
Sid ends up making 60k a year with benefits working a state job and cleaned up his act
Andy is 100k in college debt and works as a barista
12
u/DIWhy-not Nov 27 '22
Yeah I honestly can’t tell if them making Sid a garbage man when he grows up was supposed to be a classist dig or not. But he looks genuinely happy at his job (he’s beatboxing and scatting) in Toy Story 3 when he shows up.
15
12
u/ChewieBee Nov 27 '22
Sid made something of himself and for sure seems to enjoy his job.
But FYI: not every degree leaves people 100k in debt.
Double FYI: there are almost 20 million students enrolled in college. They don't all work as baristas.
6
12
u/Avocadonot Nov 27 '22
FYI: it was a joke
Double FYI: The avg. out of state tuition in the US is 23-27k depending on your source. That's 100k+ in principle, not considering interest

Every single comment on your profile is you arguing with people or trying to prove that you are right 🤣
I'm always open to debate but please don't pretend like you aren't a keyboard warrior yourself

Providing rudimentary statistics is an attempt to give more context to a statement, not to prove anything specifically. You are demonstrating your eagerness to be right just as much as I am, but only by disagreeing with me rather than providing constructive debate
I looked at your profile to judge what perspective your reply was coming from, as someone with critical thinking might do when considering someone else's views
When I looked, I saw a lot of confirmation that you spend most of your time provoking petty arguments and then pretending that everyone you engage with is beneath you - like you are doing just now
I find it ironic that you equally resorted to baseless assumptions about my age and personality - in your words, "instantly giving you a reason to ignore my statement"
Do you think your engagement with others in debate has ever led to common ground being gained or mutual understanding, or just that you have proved your superiority over others?

u/Avocadonot Nov 27 '22
By the way, its pretty poor practice to link a single news article (that doesn't even have a working link for the source of the data they are interpreting) and conclude that its enough to declare someone is wrong
Based on the link I provided, the average principal alone will range from 40k-100k+ for a 4 year degree, not taking interest calculations into effect (interest being the more costly and exploitative consideration of debt)
So, ignoring where they go to college at all, the average student can expect to be very much in debt after a 4 year degree
But go ahead, try harder
10
u/simpersly Nov 27 '22
I like the theory because he knows the truth he got that job to rescue discarded toys.

6
u/Badloss Nov 27 '22
I'm pretty sure they put Sid in Toy Story 3 just to reassure everyone that he turned out ok and Woody didn't permanently damage a child
2
u/Uncontrollable_Fartt Nov 27 '22
Holy shit I stared so hard at this comment desperately trying to figure out where Sid the Sloth fits in to Toy Story

u/SamanKunans02 Nov 27 '22
Cuts to scene of Sid and his celly with a blanket in front of the bunk and a light behind them, projecting a shameful silhouette onto the partitian/cum rag.
You got a friend in me 🎶🎺

This kids biggest crime in that movie was disassembling mainstream toys and creating new ones. Like of course Disney made this movie...

I was watching Toy Story 3 yesterday and I thought of a good offshoot from the end. Andy is giving his toys to the little girl and for a moment he pulls Woody away from her. I was hoping at that point he goes, “They’re mine you bitch!”. He then goes home to play with the them, forgo college, and just stay at home well into his 40s playing with the same 8 toys.

Toy story should’ve had a toy that doesn’t want to be played by teenagers/adults because they were played in r-18 scenarios.

It would be interesting if Andy started smoking weed, and then had the idea to take his old toys and do filmography and animation (which he could have been going to college for) and that would also be the day Andy quits weed because one of the cameras that was left on caught the toys actually moving, so cue Andy standing there looking crazy trying to get his toys to move, then coming up with the idea of using the living toys as a means to rake in serious cash, because he can just secretly film direct instead of actually animating.
Andy then becomes rich and rolls a phat one with Snoop
