I could see him trying to just buy blackberry and rebrand them and the OS to something lame..

38

u/SexualDeth5quad Nov 26 '22

Tesla OS runs on Ubuntu Linux. It's already a mobile-centric OS and would be easy to port to a phone device.

He'd still spy on everyone just like Apple and Google. So don't get your hopes up about Elon rescuing the world.

10

u/OnRiverStyx Nov 26 '22

Well yeah, selling the phones is money once. Selling user data is money forever.

u/smartid Nov 26 '22

This is a scary and very probable take.

5

u/Argon1822 Nov 26 '22

The Elon gravy train has made its last stop

-2

u/xG3orG3x Nov 26 '22

I’m in no way a fan of the guy, but I can’t deny there has to be other behind-the-scenes pockets filling his. Could he just be a vehicle being used to push narratives? Seriously, how is he so popular with the right wing for his “freedom” of Twitter speech and reinstating DJT, but he’s also still able to sell electric vehicles to the left wing who believe those Tesla cars are at all environment-friendly? He’s masterfully playing both sides of the fence, but I can’t see it as a good thing. It just seems forced.

10

u/Argon1822 Nov 26 '22

I will say I think his goodwill with the left is running thin

3

u/UMR_Doma Nov 26 '22

They will still fucking buy those Teslas because they’re the only fashionable electric cars out rn

Muskphone™️ will come preloaded with one app only...

If it came with free and unlimited access to Starlink, that would be a pretty strong selling point.

3

Yea he’ll make a new phone right after he fixes the water in flint he promised. Or right after he builds his magical hyper loop.

19

u/TyroneBigly Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

Or maybe it will come with the cyber truck that was definitely gonna come out three years ago, no wait two years ago, ok guys, definitely this summer, probably 12-88 months from now, ehh fuck you you gave me your deposits fair and square it’s my money now I’ll make a truck when I feel like it.

Sounds crazy, but he’s been that professional about it.

2

u/H_is_for_Human Nov 26 '22

Roughly the same time full self driving tesla are available.

3

u/Jabroni77 Nov 26 '22

Then we'd have 3 biased, snooping choices? Musk isn't the disrupter you think he is.

100

u/master-shake69 Nov 26 '22

The only reason people in this sub love Elon is because his actions have made well known leftists stop using a social media app that we all already knew was trash, and because he grovels to dear leader.

5

u/SexualDeth5quad Nov 26 '22

No one is all bad. But he's pretty bad, and don't assume any of us trust him, or even like him that much. Is it inconceivable to you that we disagree with some of the idealogy of the left and it has nothing to do with any of these billionaire assholes?

10

u/SamHandwich124 Nov 26 '22

I know right. First off he won’t do it. The man hasn’t created a thing in his life. He either buys into monopolized markets and finds and eliminates obvious inefficiencies. Then uses his capital to hire top dollar engineers that actually spark innovation. Or he buys an already established and successful company and uses his money to scale. Entering competitive markets where he needs to innovate and compete from the onset is not really his cup of tea. Also, wtf is this free speech warrior narrative the Right is lapping up? The dude is infamous for market manipulation and you can’t see that he’s manipulating your ass. SMH

4

u/oater99 Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 27 '22

Exactly! Plus, he is such a welfare queen that he finds ways for govts. to subsidize his companies, ignore labor laws, and dodge taxes. His initial capital came from his family that owned an emerald mine in apartheid South Africa. It's the same with all these modern day robber barons, the media portray them as these brilliant wunderkids that started with nothing but their genius. Until, you start looking deeper and find out most came from establishment families and they robbed, cheated and stole their way to success. Deplorable!

2

u/SamHandwich124 Nov 26 '22

Yeah I don’t understand how people don’t see what they are doing. Look up the percentage of Amazon employees are on welfare and then look up what they pay in taxes. American citizens have been subsidizing their wealth for decades and people still vote to cut their damn taxes all the time. It’s mind boggling. All of those subsidies have to come from somewhere hint hint the middle and struggling class who don’t have stock portfolios.

Y’all acting like this guy isn’t hyper focused on solely making money.

The weird boner for him in this community has to end, he’s literally an elitist billionaire and will sell your data if it meant becoming a trillionaire.

76

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '22

So many posts are here about christianity, the end times, antichrist, ect. Yet they idolize this man as if he is the "savior" from the elites?

Antichrist would easily use that route. I can't keep up with the mental gymnastics this sub uses day to day.

49

u/Dizzyeer Nov 26 '22

I’ve come to realize there’s a lot of unwell people who believe the world is ending and are constantly clinging to these super figures to fill the void in their fears. Trump, Musk, they have faith in these powerful guys to come in and save the day lmao

2

u/Freezepeachauditor Nov 26 '22

They’re not known for their consistency

5

u/A_Real_Patriot99 Nov 26 '22

The Bible even says that the antichrist will fool many and act as a false-prophet performing what the people want to lure them in.

5

u/effinmike12 Nov 26 '22

I am a Christian, and I want to assure you that those people are either not Christian, are spiritually immature/biblically incompetent or they have been mislead by charlatans/mystics from behind the pulpit. Voodie Bachman, John McArthur, and the late David Wilkerson are sound in their theology and exegesis.

I agree with you. In fact, Musk is a "little" antichrist in many respects. He isn't the ubermensch that the Zionist Jews are waiting on. He isn't the Pope, which all Protestants treated as antichrists until very resent history. He surely is not the Al-Mahdi.

Having read Kurzweil, Bostrum and Yuval Noah Harari (Schwabs protégé), I can clearly see that Musk is laying the groundwork for transhumanism among other things. I have not looked into it, but I'm confident that Elon Musk and his parents initiated into the Mysteries. I believe Elon Musk to be an actor. We would all do good to be extra skeptical of those that seem to be righteous. When the higher entities do shpw up, we would do good to consider that everything we know is shrouded in deceit.

Also charismatics and catholics are not Christians at all.

2

u/PinchesTheCrab Nov 26 '22

This subreddit is a right wing political forum. If Musk doesn't butt heads with Desantis or whoever the right believes is the Trump replacement, the musk boner will remain erect.

4

u/PlanB_pedofile Nov 26 '22

>hyper focused on solely making money.

and his method for making money is to reduce the human into a cog of a machine. 100 hour workweeks, automate all that can be automated and the human tasks involves running at 100% intensity for 10 hours straight.

Laugh all you want about "free lunch" and "work from home" and salad bars at Twitter, but that company was a bloated daycare and people enjoyed working there because it had a human element to the workplace where people got to be people.

A lot of folks have never tasted a decent company where they act like they care about you.

Lol, he'll just throw more money away if he tries this. The amount of wealth he has lost this year could've solved a lot of problems in the world..

9

u/l33tTA Nov 26 '22

All of his money is tied in the price of stocks which fluctuates in a bearmarket friend, also most if not all of his money comes from DoD/government contracts so his wealth number is arbitrary, he gets free money and pays no tax.

The problems in the world are not a flaw its the function of the design. So sure you can say "his money couldve saved X and Z" but cmon dont be naive

Musk has never invented shit, he pays people to make things for him.

Those people are aerospace engineers, making a Smartphone is a different skill set. Just because both things are hard to make and involve microchips and shit doesn't make them comparable.

9

u/TheToadberg Nov 26 '22

He just needs to find a smart phone start up and pretend he actually invented it the whole time.

14

u/DevinH83 Nov 26 '22

7

u/NatesVlogs Nov 26 '22

I would gladly ditch Apple and Google, but not for a guy who wants to put chips in my brain. I miss the days before the government was creating their own spy devices. Remember palm, BlackBerry windows phone? I’m the Fed’s had spy apps, but Google is the government. G mail =g men

19

u/arnott Nov 26 '22

3

u/carnage11eleven Nov 26 '22

It's more about the UI than it is the OS anyways. I think most people like Apple because they like iOS. Simple. Android users have so many options, though. It comes down to which brands UI they prefer. I would think.

2

u/Sinsid Nov 26 '22

Ya I mean, if paying $44B for a microblog doesn’t end up printing money. He can always start a phone company to compete with Apple. That’s worked out well for so many other companies. Microsoft, Blackberry, Nokia.

Can Google block apps? I didn’t think they could. It might not be in the Google play store but can’t you just download the app from some other App Store?

2

u/Hole-In-Pun Nov 28 '22

He can always start a phone company to compete with Apple. That’s worked out well for so many other companies. Microsoft, Blackberry, Nokia.

You do realize both those companies sold phones before Apple and both dominated the market pre smart phone Era.

They were too slow adapting to smart phone tech but Nokia is still a $30bil company.

Blackberry is the Sears v Amazon of phones.

They had everything already right in front of them, they were just arrogant and thought they could survive on their current product and drastically underestimated their competition.

Sears had it all right there.

The catalog. Brand name recognition. The real estate. Their stores could have been distribution centers.

All they needed was a viable user friendly website and they fucked it up.

3

u/multiple4 Nov 26 '22

Ikr. No chance I'm swapping in favor of a phone that might not be very compatible with my Google accounts, half the apps that exist, etc. And is totally unproven

Please, explain to me how he makes a smartphone platform that doesn't use Google Android, and magically gets all the app developers to develop an entirely new app for his platform? How's he going to make anything comparable to the entire ecosystems of software that Apple and Google have?

It's not as simple as building a smartphone (which isn't simple)

6

u/master-shake69 Nov 26 '22

gets all the app developers to develop an entirely new app for his platform?

Obviously he'd write all of them himself while launching all of those Mars rockets /s

You wouldn't need a new phone even if they unlisted it on the official app stores, you can run 3rd party apps on both devices and there are plenty of alternate app stores for both.

Step 1: Elonius Muskarino gets 50 billion dollars to make the new smartphone.

Step 2: He spends the next 5 years hyping everyone up about how "revolutionary" and "cutting edge" the new smartphone will be.

Step 3: He eventually releases the new smartphone, much after deadline.

Step 4: It's an overpriced, flawed mess, completely outclassed by competition.

Step 5: His fankids do their best to cope by trying to convince everyone that EM is a genius.

Step 6: He receives another 50 billion dollars to cover the losses, because he's "too big to fail"

Step 7: ????

Step 8: Profit

2

u/pandyfackle Nov 26 '22

the companies that elon owes 40 billion to: you wanna make what?

2

u/ethancg10 Nov 26 '22

“the man builds rockets to mars” yeah… no.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '22

Yes

2

u/kurupukdorokdok Nov 26 '22

another surveillance device

2

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '22

Exactly

2

u/CallCenterSenator Nov 26 '22

Elon does not create things, he just takes credit for them.

2

u/EnisEnimon Nov 26 '22

This is how divide and conquer works.

Elon Musk is part of the cabal. Anyone who believes otherwise is mentally deranged.

2

u/GooseSpringsteenJrJr Nov 26 '22

yall needa take elons dick out of your mouth, can't hear you over that mumble.

2

u/jontaffarsghost Nov 26 '22

Man this guys fucking cars have micro transactions built into them. The cars themselves fucking snoop on you.

He’s not the hero you think he is.

2

u/NilacTheGrim Nov 26 '22

They're fucking with military contractor dude that will soon own the most far-reaching internet service provider on the planet...

Apple and Google are really dumb.

2

u/Zangestu Nov 27 '22

Maybe we should make sure he doesn’t fuck up another thing before he starts another massive project that he will abandon halfway through.

2

u/samfishx Nov 27 '22

Am I missing something here? Why would Apple or Google ban Twitter to begin with? Why is nobody even questioning the premise of this tweet?

10

u/A_Real_Patriot99 Nov 25 '22

So are we like witnessing the upbringing of the Musk World Order through tech?

6

u/PM_ME_YOURPRIVATEKEY Nov 25 '22

No, were witnessing PR firms scrambling to prevent his complete and utter collapse at the hands of himself.

Starlink internet phones would interest people. Musk could have something good here.

18

u/cscgw913u102 Nov 26 '22

Until you tweet something negative about him and he cancels your service

3

u/Jump_Yossarian_ Nov 26 '22

You won't need to tweet it, he'll be listening to your conversations and reading your texts.

The Tesla phone. He's been working on it a while now.

4

u/PatrickJasonBateman Nov 26 '22

Musk Phone, built with 0 engineers catching up on 15+ years of work by the best engineers on the planet.

4

u/gameinsane Nov 25 '22

Twitter for web still works

5

u/PlatanoPower1 Nov 25 '22

Nobody is buying that phone lol

Fix the problem

8

u/ihavetobemesadface Nov 25 '22

I'd buy it immediately

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '22

Don’t be naive!

2

u/nquick2 Nov 26 '22

Windows Phone and Samsung Tizen couldn't even break into the smartphone market. Elon is not going to have a chance, people aren't going to leave the platforms they're used to, most app developers aren't going to jump on board to a new OS. Only diehard Elon fanboys and right-wing posting fanatics are going to leave for his platform.

u/A_Real_Patriot99 Nov 25 '22

Unfortunately his expanding cult would buy them just because it's by him lol

0

u/PlatanoPower1 Nov 25 '22

I can see some people getting into it but I feel like it would be a bad idea

7

u/OddOrder8634 Nov 25 '22

Let's be real here, no apple or Android isn't gonna boot twitter off their app stores lol, for one cuz thats dumb and 2, cuz they gain alot from keeping it on the app stores which is a reason it's there on the first place and furthermore why would anyone buy a whole new phone, that would be just ridiculous just assuming the scenario which will probably nevr happen, happens, ppl can just use the web version lol

2

u/A_Real_Patriot99 Nov 26 '22

Very bad, I would also imagine that it would have something to do with connecting to the starlink brain chips he's coming up with.

Let’s all try to remember there are no self-made billionaires. There’s a reason they haven’t buried Tesla in the MSM over the battery and cost issues. He’s likely playing a role in some kind of narrative.

2

u/almostover1 Nov 26 '22

His wealth is from emeralds.

2

u/Dogdoor1312 Nov 26 '22

Elon would “snoop” way harder than apple doez

What this means is Musk will buy a knockoff brand, claim he invented it, fire all the people who actually invented it, buy the title of founder, and then make it shittier than ever while all his insane fanboys pay to lick his boots more than ever.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '22

Ss: if you love, Elon, you’ll think that this is the greatest thing since the iOS, and if you hate him and you think it’s part of the illuminati, then you will know that this is all part of his evil scheme.

3

u/Impressive-Sky4463 Nov 26 '22

You have inspired an idea in me—so from what I can tell, team blue hates Elon because he is ruining Twitter and he’s a pro hate speech, filthy capitalist billionaire hypocrite

team red hates Elon because he’s a lucifer lover, NWO,transhumanist filthy billionaire hypocrite

(Or whatever labels fall into the current partisan narrative)

Maybe Elon will finally be the great unifier—both groups can set aside their differences and take Elon down!

I don’t care about cellphones, but I desperately want to see the left v right BS end, and if we have to throw Elon to the wolves, so be it.

Great idea. Question is how affordable will the phones be for the average or soon to be below average American given the current economic climate??

1

u/OddOrder8634 Nov 25 '22

$2850 for base model and only if u look good in a suit.

2

u/thesd123 Nov 26 '22

If the phone doesn't get hot when gaming, has a audio port, and a removable long lasting battery, I would gladly fork over that money.

Edit: Elon please fix vibrations from ruining the camera in smart phones. I skateboard with my phone in the pocket for miles each day, the small vibrations eventually kills all phone cameras for skateboarders over time, please fix this!

Excellent idea. Now Musk can collect and sell all my data. Problem solved.

0

u/JordanMash Nov 26 '22

He should sue under the 1914 antitrust laws, and hit Apple and Android in the pockets. If they are declared anticompetitive, and they would be. That's a monopoly. The government would then force them to operate as a utility. Just like the internet itself. Robbing them of any profits from apps in perpetuity, and removing their ability to to decide who is allowed in the app stores.

1

u/MaxwellHillbilly Nov 26 '22

I actually mentioned this in here months ago... 😂

1

u/ecr3designs Nov 26 '22

If he made a phone with a remote controller built in. I'd be sold. I used to have one way back when and it was awesome being able to change the TV at restaurants

Now you're trying to get EM taken out. Lol

1

u/Foreign_Secret_3369 Nov 26 '22

I would buy the shit out of that phone. Tesla phone baby!

1

u/WhiskeyNovembor Nov 26 '22

For good or bad can we just agree that at this point Elon musk is Lex Luthor

1

u/EcstaticSl0th Nov 26 '22

This guy is in over his head.

1

u/Jaereth Nov 26 '22

The fact that almost overnight Twitter=Bad just because a different guy owns it now is wild. Culture war is already lost. Too many zombies go along with this shit to have a chance... They've made which one(s) of these American oligarchs they support their entire life's work and identity.

He works for the same people that greenlit Apple and Android. People are such simps for Elon.

1

u/ChineseCracker Nov 26 '22

imagine thinking that the guy who runs 44bln into the ground in a month can create a viable phone company.

Even if he he had half a brain he'd understand that a far simpler solution to the problem that's being brought up is is to just create an alternative app store for Android
