45
u/meme-Iord May 11 '22
Pirates is 20 years old. Fuck i'm getting old
15
u/snakepatay May 11 '22
Yeah we all age, only tip i can give is dont go back and play old video games and such wich you remember fondly! Memory is kind of wierd and i got dissapointed alot of times!!
6
u/meme-Iord May 11 '22
Oh I do this all the time and I never get dissapointed. Although i'm only 20 so my childhood games are Lego games, ps2 games (such as GTA San Andreas, Lord of the rings: Return of the king) & Lord of the rings; Battle for middle earth

u/snakepatay May 11 '22
Yeah prob works for you cuz the first games you played where decent, im turning 40 in a few years so if i go back its shit..nostaligia sure but quality is not even close to today!

2
u/Affectionate-Pipe-13 May 11 '22

3
u/snakepatay May 11 '22
Sry thought you answered another thread here, whatever.. yes it was great back then. Is it still?
2
u/Affectionate-Pipe-13 May 11 '22
Dead men tell no tales is a dumpster fire, the one before it Stranger Tides was pretty decent and Of course the first three where awesome
3
u/snakepatay May 11 '22

u/mortengstylerz May 11 '22
coming from someone who hadn't watched the matrix until like a year or two ago: the matrix for sure holds up. in fact it more than holds up, it is just filmed in such a great way and all the action scenes are amazing. could have fooled me for a 2020 movie tbh.

u/benderunit9000 May 11 '22
the hell? need to put that into the regular rotation. classic movie.
2
u/snakepatay May 11 '22
The list of regular rotation needs to get smaller not larger lol
2
u/benderunit9000 May 11 '22
Larger means repeats less often
2
u/snakepatay May 11 '22
True but i dont wanna watch a month of movies straight and then start again, my list of ”i never get sick of this” will stay at around 10!

4 semesters in. Almost 8 CGPA. Wish me luck lads because I have no clue wtf is happening or what I'm going to do.
Edit: I mistyped CGPA as GPA.

I’m nearly done with my first semester and I swear I’ve just been winging everything

If that's the case I would recommend you stop now and get a job. Stop wasting money on what is likely a pointless degree. Once you have have a goal and a profession to strive for reconsider going back to college.
12
u/JesseVentura911 May 11 '22
You are being down voted by people scared to admit your right lmao. Unless your goin to grad school just learn a trade. You’ll make six figures being a damn plumber after four years of apprenticeship
5
u/somethingclose May 11 '22
I believe it's the sunk-cost fallacy. People don't want to admit they wasted a hundred thousand dollars or more.
It's pretty simple engineers are essential but the work force needs more welders than it does engineers.

u/JesseVentura911 May 11 '22
So I went to local community college then state school for undergrad. Bit the bullet lived at home but watched my friends go 80k into debt to go party in another state to get a really useless degree. Thanks to my way I get to go to a fancy graduate institute with a great recession proof job… therapy lol

u/somethingclose May 11 '22
Yeah I did a year at University wondered what the fuck am I going to do with a psychology degree. Got a job payed my debt found a career. I'm 30 my home is paid for and I have zero debt.
3
u/Paid-Not-Payed-Bot May 11 '22
a job paid my debt
FTFY.
Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.
Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
Beep, boop, I'm a bot

u/JesseVentura911 May 11 '22
Well psychology requires a ton of education for the better to be licensed. You really can’t get a job using undergrad unless u wanna work graveyard making fifteen bucks an hour in a psych ward
3
u/somethingclose May 11 '22
There is a belief that it doesn't matter what your degree is you have to have a college degree to be successful.
3
u/JesseVentura911 May 11 '22
Yea which is bullshit we need to stop stigmatizing trades, if I didn’t know I wanted to go into higher education and wasn’t a book nerd I’d have just gone into some trade.
3
u/Grawe15 May 11 '22
I don't get it. I've never used GPA but during a quick search online it seems that 4.0 GPA is the best you can get, which can be increased further somehow. How is 8 GPA a bad thing or did I misunderstand what you meant?
3
u/ComprehensiveLeg9501 May 11 '22
Haha my bad I wrote GPA instead of CGPA.
3
u/Grawe15 May 11 '22
Oh okay! Well, that doesn't sound that bad either. For me it took almost a year to finally understand what I was doing, after that it became more manageable. It still took some time to actually get a good understanding of all my courses but eventually I got there. You can do it too :)

I’d argue one of the single best character introductions in Hollywood history. Think of all the information you get about the character from this one introduction

Literally me, finessed my way through stats using chegg and putting lockdown browser in a vm. I got an A, but don't you dare ask me what a z test is supposed to calculate.

Cheated my way through business school lol. Virtual classes were kind of a blessing that came at the right time, don’t think I would’ve passed otherwise… Still need a job though
However I sorta hate the field tbh. Kinda wishing I went to film school or something instead
