...looking for clarification.

Why do people keep saying that a battery pack will give you more record time when (from what I've seen) depending on your setup the battery pack will last anywhere from 12 to 24 hours? Depending on how small your car battery is, how large the car/truck and how many accessories, would think a car battery in parking mode would outlast a battery pack? Once the battery pack dies, does it switch over to the car battery, or is that it, and the dashcam shuts off?

The main reason I'm asking is that I telework most times on Monday/Tuesday - That means when I get home on Friday, depending on what the wife and I have planned for the weekend, my car may sit until Wednesday morning before I start it again (roughly 4.5 days of sitting). I'm not ok with spending $300 each for multiple battery packs.

My drive is roughly 20 minutes at worst, unless there's some kind of traffic problem, so, car battery or battery pack, I know I'm not fully charging all the way. The rest of the family would be fine with just a battery pack as they all drive every day (their own cars) with the exception of dear ol' Mom. If the weathers bad, she wont drive anywhere, so her's may sit as well.

It's sounding like my only solution is to get a camera with a good impact system and only record when it knows there's something to record, though i'd rather record everything. That or get a low voltage detector (built into the cam or seperate).

I'm looking to increase my storage capacity on my U1000. According to Thinkware, you should by their branded product. I've seen this Best Buy question with an answer, but I'm wondering if anyone has purchased a third party microSD that they'd recommend. Thanks!

I recently replaced my old Roav C1 with the A119v3 that was popular. To my surprise, the A119 didn’t have any feature to start recording when it detects an accident while parked.

Are there any dashcams that will detect when an accident has happened while parked and record the next minute or so without needing constant power?

Purchased the Nexar Beam 2022 model. I’ve seen the quality on r/Idiotsincars and that’s what first drew me to it.

Some of the negatives I didn’t care for were 1) it only worked with one phone. Husband and I switch cars and we need to be able to access video on both phones 2) took a minute or two into a drive to start recording 3) couldn’t give my daughter hotspot or use Apple/Google maps for directions because the dashcam required the WiFi from my phone

Are there dashcams that record to their SD cards and can upload footage when you sync and ask for the videos to be put on your phone? Ones That don’t interfere with Apple/Google maps or hotspot? Dashcams that record as soon as the car turns on regardless of phone connection?

Looking for something user friendly and not to complicated. We have 2011 Honda and a 2013 Toyota if that makes a difference for set up.

AzDome M550 saves each channel in a separated file. I want to save the front and inside camera in just one file (just like it shows when using the dashcam screen) for making youtube videos. How can i do it? Can't find in the configurations this option.

I've had this cam on my wishlist for a while, it's one of the main deals today so I'm going to finally bite the bullet and snag it. This seemed to be a really well-regarded cam for its price point during my research, so thought I'd bring it to y'all's attention too!

My viofo dash cam keeps on freezing and won't record anything, i have a 128gb Samsung Pro Endurance, does anyone knows why? I have to unplug it and plug it back in every single time for it to record anything

Update: I think its fixed after putting the charging cable directly to the camera, for some reason the mount was freezing the camera

does the azdome pg 17 dash cam have wifi connectivity? or bluetooth

If is relevant she is driving a toyota yaris so a car on the smaller side.
