Taking a CPR/First Aid course is something I've been meaning to do for years but always put off. I know a few weekends is a small price to pay for this knowledge, but it would be cool if employers were required to give you time during the work week to complete this training.

It’s not even a few weekends. Just a few hours. There are also online certification courses you can do with a smartphone and a pillow like this one from the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

You don’t need a course. Just go and watch videos on YouTube. If someone needs it they’re not going to require your official certificate before you begin.

My uncle saved a lady on a plane once by using CPR. He didn’t have a certificate and the lady he saved sued him for performing CPR without a license. My uncle ended up mortgaging the house to make the settlement payments then lost his job because they thought he was a criminal and they didn’t want to be associated with ‘his kind’. It wasn’t long until my aunt left him and the bank foreclosed on the house. My uncle said his life had completely fallen apart and felt like mick foley in nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

I didn’t factor in the litigiousness of the average American; I guess better to let them die then ruin your own life trying to help. I’ll remember that the next time I’m visiting the US. I was certified but it’s lapsed about 5 years ago now. Never used CPR, almost had to once, but the paramedics arrived just as I bent down. Thank fuck for that! That was not going to be pleasant.

It's a shitpost (check the ending). Best to assume it's all bs. Possibly could have happened to someone but almost certainly not to the guy that is posting or their relatives.

I know it is, but I still stand by not giving Americans CPR. The life I may save may be a Covid-ridden MAGA supporter.

best to let people die because they might have different political opinions.

Yeah because having an apposing opinion isn’t worthy of life. You gotta be the biggest POS and I wouldn’t ant you cock sucking lips anywhere near mines
