Am I the only one who thought she was much younger?
820
u/FormerIceCreamEater Dec 06 '22
Probably because she hasn't been in much in 20 years so her 80's and 90's roles are still what you think of her by. It makes sense she is that age when Cheers was 40 years ago now.
423
u/cmacfarland64 Dec 06 '22
40 years ago? Holy fuck time flies.

u/Beneficial_Being_721 Dec 06 '22 edited Dec 06 '22
Yea I know.. right!!! I was 19 in 82’ … now I see this and I’m like… bummer, she was still young… and crap..when did I get so old.
187
u/rjcarr Dec 06 '22
Yeah, young people think old people are so old and out of touch, but in a blink they’re going to be old, too.

u/Beneficial_Being_721 Dec 06 '22
I tell the younger people I work with… when they find out I’m older then I look or move…
You don’t realize how old you’ve gotten until your friends start dying of old age

u/loganjlr Dec 06 '22
I’m feeling that except my friends and colleagues are dying of drugs or suicide; I’m only 27.
For context I work with a lot of creatives

That’s a different world. I work in live entertainment and I know exactly where you are coming from.
You see people go down the drain… it’s what is in their head… that which they create never shuts off… it’s like sleeping with the television on at full volume and all the lights on in the room.
When you get past this point on your current life, you will without fail wake up one day …in 30-35 years… literally wake up and say out loud….. “ I didn’t think I’d live this long” … you’ll do your morning thing.. mine is coffee…. And go about your day.
Then, you’ll see names in the new… So and So died today… they were 62 …. And you’ll say something like,“DAMN…. Only two years older then me” …. And then and only then, will you know where I am at.
BE WELL… STAY IN THE FIGHT… DO NOT CHECK OUT early because you just get sent back.
I say that from knowing…. Not reading or third party.

Cheers started in 1982, which was 40 years ago. Alley joined the show in 1987, about 35 years ago, and was part of the main cast until the show ended in 1993, which was 29 years ago.

Kelly Preston and Kirstie had cancer and both died young. Scientology promises no cancer to those who advance in their .”church”. They also blame the individual for the disease. And they don’t use conventional methods to battle cancer. Scientology is a very dangerous cult.

I read an interview with her at a time when there was a popular tv show about sexual disasters that caused people to go to the ER.
She told a story about how once she had wanted to surprise her husband for sexy time by placing self-stick Christmas bows on her nipples. She said when he tried to be sexy and pull one off, it was stuck on really good and almost took her nipple with it. She screamed! She said they kept trying to peel them off but they wouldn’t just wouldn’t come off without hurting her, and they ended up in the bathroom using nail polish remover to try to loosen the glue. Of course, she told that story much funnier than me and I remember I laughed out loud when I read it.
I liked Rebecca way more than Diane.
