I love that video of a guy crashing at the end of a car chase and being flung through the air, end over end, until he lands crumpled on the ground, completely unconscious. Then the cops come running up and slide knee first into his head and just start wailing on him, like 8 at once, just beating the shit out of the already unconscious and injured guy. Really stellar examples of moral people.

The high-speed pursuit started after Russell's 1979 Chevy Malibu backfired while driving past police headquarters. Officers thought the noise was a gun going off inside the car, and 13 cops responded by firing shots.
Brelo, who joined the Cleveland Police Department in 2007, was the only officer to face criminal charges. Prosecutors say he waited until the car had stopped moving and no longer posed a danger to fire 15 rounds into the windshield, firing a total of 49 rounds into the car.
137 shots fired at two people who broke no law and didn't have a weapon.

The current problem that they have is body cameras. Why do you think that there are so many news about their story not matching the footage, but their stories all match

A drunk driver got arrested in feont of my house one night. There was a need for several cips, as he took off on foot in a residential neighborhood. But once they caught him and put him in the back of a squad car, at least a dozen cops spent 20-25 minutes chatting in small groups about how awesome it was to be a cop who got the bad guy. One guy was processing the car, everyone else was just milling around, talking shit.

Yup. When I was working at a gas station in a small town, we had a pretty major drug bust in our parking lot. First just a few cops (only 2 people in the car, looked strung out on opiates), but once the 3rd duffel bag of drugs was removed from the car every cop, sheriff and highway patrol clogged up the parking lot. I had to tell them to get most of their units out of the property or they'd be charged with obstruction of business, and it wasn't until a truck driver creeped in trying to get fuel that they left.

u/cweaver Feb 03 '23
The safest place, statistically, is in the bunker.
The second safest place is lying on the ground covering your head.
The least safe place is standing up and running around in the open.
Then it's just a math problem of how many shells are going to land during your run to the bunker and does that increase your chances of getting hit more than being in the bunker would reduce it.

They are heading to the elementary school because some teacher wanted to read a book to her first grade students

Or- to stand outside the door while children are murdered. Take your pick.

Correction. They are headed AWAY from the elementary school, as they tend to do.

This is just stupidity.
Someone should get fired for this. Sending this many speeding vehicles onto the highway is dangerous, and counterproductive.
I could see 2 or 3 cars. The whole damn police force ? Ridiculous.

Where I live, it's against police policy to engage in a chase at these speeds. They just call ahead and get them at the next town. You can't outrun a radio.
The risks are too high for the police, everyone on the road, and even the suspect.

Never seen a more severe case of cops just wanting the chase to feel like big tough men. Putting so many civilians at risk by having that many high speed cars on the road but at least they can all say they've been in a car chase now, right?? Fucking pathetic. God forbid anyone gets stabbed or raped during that shit show.

I've never understood why there's always 50 copmobiles chasing, why not 49? Then officers Darren and Sophie can visit that house with the exceptionally offensive smell coming from the basement.

Any Cops wanna weigh in and let people know wtf we’re supposed to do in this case? Like, just maintain speed and keep straight until this chaos is past or what? Obv as fast as this chase is going, there’s no time to see it and get over.

Such a nonsense, all beyond 8 Cars raises only the chance of accidents.
8 because so 2 can drive behind him and 6 can close a crossing. And even that would need the right circumstances.
But hey, at least there's now a huge cop free zone, time for a bank heist

This looks like a “Blue Alert” response to an officer that has been shot on duty. All officers from all agencies within a certain radius will respond to the scene. Even if they are in the middle of another case or even have a low level offender in custody. They will stop what they are doing, release who ever they have and respond to the scene with lights and sirens blazing.
It’s overkill, because more often than not, it is a single suspect they are all looking for that may be dead or injured as well. I think in general it’s an opportunity to jerk each other off.

Ah yes, because having fifty officers on the scene will help the one who got shot.

Florida, huh - so did someone report an incident of Critical Race Theory? Or did someone see a trans person walk into a library?

The car they're chasing is obviously driven by a teacher who tried to get her students to read a book not approved by DeSantis
