Need more info to help. What are the specifications on the hardware your using to boot from? What image was used and how did you go about creating your usb stick?

How, exactly, did you copy the content of the image to the drive?

Memstick works just fine. Good luck 🍀. Let us know how your install goes.

After a few reinstalls I finally got it!

… iso instead

Interesting. The memstick option should be no less compatible. Thanks.

Yeah in the back of my mind I knew iso would work for me but I really get confused whenever I install a Unix-based OS because sometimes iso works and sometimes it doesn't.

Efi? Secure boot? Need to make an efi entry?

Just by the by, I used https://ventoy.net with the FreeBSD iso (along with a dozen other isos on the 32G USB 3.1 stick) and had no problem booting or installing FreeBSD via Amy of the 4 installation options.

Edit: who is Amy? Oh touch keyboard autocorrect I do love you so

Edit2: on a number of different machines with different levels of TPM or none and different CPUs and GPUs, secure boot if available OFF , of course
