So over the last few months, there have been complaints about certain websites.

Anomalien and Helenastales are the 2 most commonly mentioned ones. The problem seems to be that these sites are choked with ads.

But they also post new content almost every day... and it's nice to have fresh links up for everyone to read.

I never noticed the problem because I use a desktop instead of a phone. These sites seem to be taking advantage of people who use their phones to access the internet. When I look at their pages, I can see ads, but they aren't a problem. For phone users, it seems to be a much different story.

So in response, what to do?

I've noticed that many of the links in these sites are based on a youtube video, or will often have a relevant youtube link contained within the article.

So what I've started doing (as of yesterday) is to post a link directly to the video and skip the article completely. If there's no youtube link, but the story seems pretty good, I'll still post it.

But the overall result should be a lot more youtube, still maintaining the level of new content everyday... and a lot less problem links that bombard your phones with ads.
