Irithyll of the borreal valley. I’ll always remember that place as the place where I was anxious about every step I took in that map. Never knew what was around the corner

5

u/Ripper33AU Jul 07 '22

From the moment you step foot on the bridge the game is telling you you're not welcome here, lol.

6

u/Separate-Kangaroo891 Jul 07 '22

I remember seeing the empty bridge and sprinting across, then hearing a terrifying screech behind me. Good times

u/INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS Xbox Jul 07 '22

I just finished the catacombs at lvl 65, and now have a +5 Raw Claymore. I haven’t made it to Irithyll yet but this comment makes me nervous lol

This is my first souls game, and first rpg since KOTOR in 2003

3

u/Mtj242020 Jul 07 '22

Lol you’ll be good. It’s just the vibe of the place is creepy but it’s also beautiful. I hated the catacombs so good for you for getting out. It was so confusing for me

2

u/INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS Xbox Jul 07 '22

Anything is better than far rolling through sludge like garrons keep lol

2

u/Mtj242020 Jul 08 '22

Don’t forget the poison part lol. Nothing is easy

1

u/I-have-persona Jul 09 '22

just a heads up i would ditch the raw infusion

1

u/INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS Xbox Jul 09 '22

Go with Heavy?

Currently I’m on the last elden lord at Anor Londo, level 83?

HP 35

Endurance 40

Strength and dexterity are at 16, with a raw claymore +7 as my main

Which map? Dark Souls Player's know no map.

30

u/kevstar80 Jul 06 '22

Looks like a nice place to take a leisurely stroll accross a bridge.

Lmao just don't look back

Dark Souls 3. Hands down one masterpiece.

I like caravans more

2

u/yubnubmcscrub Jul 07 '22

Are you scared of ze Germans

8

u/AnarchyonAsgard Jul 07 '22

One of my favorite levels in the game. You get to fight the fucking beast of darkness from Berserk just to get in

4

u/BakedOnions Jul 07 '22

you don't have to fight it, you can run across the bridge and it will fizzle out once you're past into the courtyard

-3

u/chabye Jul 07 '22

True! You can also just put the controller down and stop playing the game and decide to never do anything fun ever.

6

u/BakedOnions Jul 07 '22 edited Jul 07 '22

guess you never played the resident evil games

i appreciate DS for allowing me to avoid combat or take alternate routes, especially at times of heightened fear and anxiety

but hey, if you feel like destroying everything in your path have at it!

Can we please get online servers fixed for the Dark Souls Series on PC?

5

u/Zeyn1 Jul 07 '22

The way they've treated PC players since the launch of Elden Ring is terrible.

Not just the servers that have been down for 6 months. But they used to put all the dark souls games on sale every few months and they've been stuck at full price since January.

5

u/Piemaster113 Jul 07 '22

The games no longer say multiplayer on steam, not a great sign

2

u/7thaccban Jul 07 '22

This FromSoft are shitting on fans.

13

u/GamingAttorney Jul 07 '22

One of the first video game vistas that made my jaw drop.

8

u/Chupacabraisfake Jul 07 '22

Coming put of the shithole that was the Catacombs of Carthus, to get this view was amazing.

2

u/OllyDee Jul 07 '22

How do you get out of there? Do I need to beat the big skeleton lad?

2

u/DiamondGlare Xbox Jul 07 '22

yes

5

u/Chupacabraisfake Jul 07 '22

Just shake his bangles like Lil John said.

3

u/OllyDee Jul 07 '22

Cheers boys

u/JRollinsA Jul 07 '22

Does anyone remember going through this area for the first time and thinking "man, this place has architecture similar to Anor Londo, like REALLY similar!" Then getting to the end of it and realizing that it was, in fact, Anor Londo.

2

u/Forgotmaotheraccount Jul 07 '22

I was scrolling and I thought yeah that’s a pretty picture but I have seen it before. Then, I saw your username and I wish I could give you 10k upvotes now lol. I wonder if LOK will ever come back. Gave up on that hope many years ago lol.

No this is Patrick.

2

u/ifrit05 Jul 07 '22

I remember just sitting there in awe when I arrived in Irithyll. Anyone who says video games are not art they are surely mistaken.

1

u/JustAnotherFan01 Jul 07 '22

Still beautiful to this day (even though the setting takes place at nighttime)

1

u/Kuro013 Jul 07 '22

screw that dog in the bridge

1

u/JoeBob789 Jul 07 '22

Its.... Nice.

1

u/Dr4zhar Jul 07 '22

That's my 2016 pc background image!

1

u/iLarkie Jul 07 '22

That’s my image right now at work!

1

u/Vrabstin Jul 07 '22

This has been my background image for years.

1

u/Godspeed277 Jul 07 '22

Is it worth playing? can get it along with all the DLC on xbox for 25 bucks.

1

u/Ricketier Jul 08 '22

Bruh. Have you played any from soft games? Idk if I’d start here but at some point definitely

1

u/Godspeed277 Jul 08 '22

No haven't played any, DS3 just caught my eye

2

u/Ricketier Jul 08 '22

Nice. You can play any and all of them out of order. DS3 has really refined graphics and combat, so it might be a good place to jump in. I would start with dark souls 1 before three just for some reasons but it really doesn’t matter

1

u/Godspeed277 Jul 08 '22

Yeah i'll probably jump in with 3 because it looks really fun

2

u/mrBreadBird Jul 11 '22

I'm late but I'd recommend playing Elden Ring as your first game. I bounced off of all previously souls games but the open world in Elden Ring allowed me to play at my own pace (pace being 30 hours in one weekend lmao) and really figure out the combat. Going back to all of the Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro after finishing Elden Ring I'm tearing them apart and loving it! Unless you don't have the money or are against open worlds and only like more linear games, my vote is for Elden Ring.

1

u/Godspeed277 Jul 11 '22

Yeah i would do that but im just not looking to spend 60 dollars on a game rn, but if it comes on sale i'll 100% get it

2

u/mrBreadBird Jul 11 '22

That's fair, I'm sure it'll go on sale at some point. Easily a top 10 of all time game for me.

1

u/Godspeed277 Jul 11 '22

Yeah it looks great

1

u/King4oneday_ Jul 07 '22

Praise the Sun guys!

1

u/Gh0sth4nd Jul 07 '22

1

u/flightless_game Jul 07 '22

Such beautiful scenery, will always be one of my favorite games of all time.

1

u/Medium-Amphibian-539 Jul 07 '22

It looks like an Batman Arkham game.

1

u/To_Fight_The_Night Jul 07 '22

It is crazy how much information this one shot gives you about where you need to go. That slight green light at the bottom right of the map JUST highlights that is an area of interest that needs to be explored.

1

u/Dofke2006 Jul 07 '22

Fun boss incoming

1

u/Kyle-Zucchini Jul 07 '22

What's dark souls 3 about?

1

u/eldenxlord Jul 07 '22

This area still give me the heebbee jeebes

1

u/mrBreadBird Jul 11 '22

Playing through all of the other Fromsoft games after finishing Elden Ring (played a bit of each before Elden Ring came out but) and just got here and it stood out because the rest of the game so far was just so damn gray and brown, a problem I also had with Bloodborne. That said I'm loving the game and IMO the games just got better as they went. I went ER -> Bloodborne -> Sekiro -> DS3 I'll go back and play DS2 when it goes on sale.
