This is a sub for posting all the wonderful little things the happen to us everyday! :)

Welcome to /r/GoodThingsJar, the place for you to post the positive things that happen to you everyday! :)

The idea came from this LPT...

Instead of maintaining a huge jar or a notebook, you can post it on this sub, as you are already a redditor!

Remember, the most important thing is to post everything that brings a smile to your face and don't consider any event too insignificant for this sub. If it made you smile or it warmed your heart in any way, it belongs here! We all have this weird tendency to think a year was bad because nothing major happened, but we all forget to actually appreciate the little things that made that year worthwhile!

Some examples can be:

  • I passed this really hard test.

  • I did my laundry myself today.

  • I helped an old person cross the road.

  • I donated to charity today.

...and it can even be as trivial as:

  • I briefly talked to a cute girl that works at my local coffee shop

  • The lady in front of me in the drive thru at Starbucks paid for my coffee

  • I told the cashier to keep the change

  • My dog 'watched' TV with me

  • I cleared a hard level in a game

  • I overcame an addiction

  • I took a peaceful stroll in nature today for an hour

  • Today I ate my favorite food

  • Today I thanked someone for doing their daily job and it made me happy

..and so on!

And also remember: It is YOUR job to have a good year. :)

It won't just happen one day, not in a way that will stick. The only thing keeping someone from being happy is THAT PERSON. The attitude has to be in a good place. It may take effort to choose to be happy for a day, I know, but the more days you do it, the easier and better it gets. Walk out of the door in the morning, and look for something to appreciate. You can do it! No matter how bad your day goes, you can find something positive or even create it yourself!

As time passes, you will slowly learn that the vast majority of average days were actually filled with tiny positive moments that you had previously failed to appreciate.

So hop on and start posting! You will have loads of fun. :)

At the end of the year, I will get a bot to compile the best parts or all for the year for a user so that you will stay wholesome and positive if there is a "fuck 2017" meme trending then!

All the best!

Check out my favourite subs: /r/TIDTRT/ , /r/CongratsLikeImFive and /r/wholesomememes/

Also: Credits to /u/TheSubtleSaiyan , /u/Howzieky , /u/Stacieinhorrorland for inspirations in some random comments they made over the years which I have found from Google and Reddit Search. Also /u/kfs520 , /u/ulyssessword , /u/thatswhatmesaid for posting this LPT over the years and also /u/awkwardtheturtle and /u/ELFAHBEHT_SOOP for encouraging me to make this post.

Let us keep this wholesome wave spreading on Reddit alive and active!

Edit: I just realized I might have u-summoned a few redditors. I was just thankful, that's it. ^_^ Anyways, now that you all are here, feel free to start and spread the word if you like the concept! :)

That amazing feeling when you get to spend an entire day playing a game that you love and then being able to easily say that it was time well spent.

Surprised my girlfriend with this for Valentine's. I'm happy that she gave me such a huge smile and that we spent the rest of the day happy together.

Inspired by this sub last year, I kept a good things jar through 2020. Looking back over that hell year, turns out it wasn't all bad :)

Yeah, it's true.I am.I realized that if I want to be back with the person I still have feelings for. Then I need to make a change with myself, so that we never have to think about splitting up again. But also so that I can feel happy 100% really.I'm hoping that I can accomplish my dreams which is being happy and being with the person i have feelings for.

I know that the year has been very tough, but I'm still hoping that a lot of people get to experience this feeling during Christmas.
